For three decades de-hyphenation from Pakistan has been the centre-point of our grand strategy. BJP has now created an unexpected predicament for itself, and for India—when its domestic political interests are clashing with India's geopolitical priorities. BJP's politics should drop this re-hyphenation. Diminish, deter, de-hyphenate. That's the 3D solution to our Pakistan problem. Prior to starting Merri, she spent her early career in Ecommerce at Macys.com and Walmart.com. While planning her wedding in 2018 she struggled to make design decisions without adequate tooling to visualize the event, which acted as the catalyst for starting Merri, and has now grown to be one of the fastest growing platforms in the industry.  She did not want to be an entrepreneur!  She was happy with her career and job – but she just couldn't let go of this idea.  Within 5 months, the idea went from a drawing on a cocktail napkin to full fledge usable program.   Her journey is fascinating and an interesting listen!www.bemerri.comhttps://www.youtube.com/@BehindTheVeilPodcastFor a hands-free experience, ask Alexa to play the latest podcast episode of Behind The Veil with Keith Willard. The BEHIND THE VEIL Show is the winner of the 2021 and 2022 Telly Awards for best online unscripted series, and the NACE One Award for Innovator of The Year.Interested in sponsoring future episodes of Behind The Veil? Weighing trees with lasers: new 3D insights

Date of Lecture: 18 October 2022 About the Lecture: How do you weigh a tree, let alone a forest? The recent increased focus on trees as tools in the fight against climate change, and the subsequent rush to see who can plant the most trees, assumes that we know how much carbon trees store (and how that can change). But do we? Our current understanding relies on very simplistic models and assumptions that are rarely if ever tested, in part due to the lack of detailed 3D measurements of trees. Mat will show how new 3D measurements of tree size and shape are challenging some of these assumptions, with major implications understanding how forests function. He will also show how these measurements are helping to address fundamental ecological questions about the size and shape of trees, how forests respond to environmental change, and how we can monitor forests more effectively from the ground, air and space. About the Speaker: Professor Mat Disney , Professor of Remote Sensing at UCL Department of Geography
