Eh oui. » SOMMAIRE (00:00:00) Introduction (00:03:29) Préambule : Indiana Jones au cinéma (00:29:04) Préambule : Indiana Jones en jeux vidéo (00:33:04) Développement : MachineGames, c'est qui ? In today's Daily Fix:Take-Two, the owners of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, have issued a take-down of another fan-made mod. YouTuber Dark Space has posted a video explaining what happened with his mod that put what he believed to be an accurate GTA 6 map into GTA 5. Dark Space argues that such moves hurt Take-Two's relationship with the community, the same community that makes its games popular in the first place. In other news, there's a not-zero percent chance that the popular online game Palworld makes its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, given the system is powerful enough to run it. That might be a little weird, considering developer Pocket Pair is involved in a lawsuit with Nintendo. And finally, MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle finally has a PS5 release date.

This week, Xbox unveiled MUSE, a generative AI model aimed at boosting creativity and possibilities for gameplay. Published in the journal Nature as well as announced by Microsoft Research, the Xbox team shared findings alongside Ninja Theory on what this new AI model that was trained on Bleeding Edge could accomplish. In the extensive write-ups, we learn about the principles of this AI model, what Xbox's mandate is for it across their first party studios, and even get teased a bit on what it could mean for backwards compatibility. However, is it all sunshine and roses here for Xbox's new approach to game development? The push for AI is on more than ever and it's no longer a matter of "if" but rather "when." Like any tool, its public perception will be dictated by how responsibly it is handled. Joining Matty this week is Brad, to clean up the AI mess, and dive into a whole bunch of other Xbox news. We follow up our last episode's conversation on Avowed, dig into the future of Obsidian, mull over yet another Phil Spencer interview, and plenty more in what is bound to be divisive subject for many listeners. Brett reviews Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This game has been a struggle as one part of it feels amazing and another part feels like it missed the mark. The game is beautiful, has some great cutscenes, interesting puzzles and worlds to explore but the combat leaves something to be desired. Is it worth buying into it or holding off for something else?We also review Dicefolk, a dice-building roguelike creature game. You control Chimera's in battle, rolling dice to determine your attack and your opponents attacks. Fight through waves of bad guys, level up your party and see how far you can last before dying and starting over. Some analysts predict that GTA6 will be $100 and other game companies will follow suit. Should games be $100? What will make us gamers shell out that higher price? Is it worth games to increase their prices?Veilguard was called a failure by EA. We liked the game but the people of the world did not. What is next for Bioware and can they redeem themselves or is this it?Lastly, we've played some more Delta Force and find it doesn't quite capture the magic that Battlefield does. It's fun and it does a lot of the right things but there's something missing that gives us hope for Battlefield 6 now that they've revealed some more details and launched Battlefield Labs, their early access playtesting program.Show Notes:1:09- Housekeeping3:03 - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Review30:14 - Dicefolk Review45:14 - Should Video Games Cost $100?1:08:11 - Veilguard Deemed a Failure by EA: What's Next for Bioware?1:30:32 - Where Delta Force Went Wrong and Our Hope for Battlefield 61:56:41 - Upcoming Video Game Releases Become a part of the conversation! There was probably no greater end of the year gaming surprise in 2024 than the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Clint's skepticism about swapping out Harrison Ford for Troy Baker was only matched by Bryan's confusion about what this game was supposed to be drawing comparisons to Dishonored and Hitman, while being developed by the studio behind Wolfenstein, Machine Games, and the producer of the last several Elder Scrolls games, Todd Howard. It turns out Baker delivered the performance of the year as Indiana Jones and the game itself turned out to be a sprawling and pitch perfect first person 3d adventure game with stealth, puzzling, and a not-insignificant amount of using improvised weaponry against fascists: Truly the most appropriate thing for Indiana Jones to be doing. So Bryan, Josh, and Clint set off on their respective journeys to uncover the mysteries of the Great Circle. Clint's took a long a circuitous route through all manner of optional side content, Bryan's was a bit more on the straight and narrow, and Josh's ended a bit prematurely. Regardless of where they ended all three of our hosts enjoyed the sites, sounds, and hi-jinks they got up to along the way. So pull up your old timey phonograph and listen in the guys discuss Indiana Jones and the Great Circle!Three Word Reviews:Bryan - Museum Worthy AdventureJosh - Scenes and SignpostsClint - An Instant Classic

As the industry prepares for 2024's final and massive news week in The Game Awards, we sink our teeth into Indiana Jones & The Great Circle! This is the final massive (and temporary) Xbox exclusive for 2024, but more importantly, this is Machine Games's first release since the disastrous Wolfenstein Youngblood. What has the team been cooking in the time they've been away? The results just may surprise you if your expectations were in the company of Uncharted and Tomb Raider. We also dive deep into Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's aggressive release date move and what that means for its direct competitor in Avowed plus rumors of Forza Horizon 5 dropping on PlayStation, Game Awards predictions, and plenty more! Please keep in mind that our timestamps are approximate, and will often be slightly off due to dynamic ad placement. 0:00:00 - Intro 0:29:26 - Forza Horizon 5 coming to PlayStation? 0:35:11 - Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 releases February 4th 0:53:10 - A new Stalker 2 patch is out with over 650 fixes 0:55:18 - Ubisoft is shutting down XDefiant 1:06:21 - BioWare's Corinne Busche on future choices within Dragon Age 1:11:46 - News on Lies Of P developer next game 1:20:47 - FromSoftware is not doing Elden Ring 2 1:28:25 - Visions of Mana director Ryosuke Yoshida is leaving Netease 1:29:57 - Hironobu Sakaguchi on returning to Xbox 1:36:45 - Marvel Rivals monetization revealed 1:43:59 - What We're Playing 2:39:10 - The final Game Pass drops of 2024… 2:43:12 - Game Pass Pick Of The Week Learn more about your ad choices. What we assumed would ultimately happen has come to pass: Machinegames' upcoming Indiana Jones title is indeed coming to PlayStation 5. Between Minecraft, Call of Duty, and Bethesda -- not to mention Xbox Studios itself -- Microsoft has quickly become one of Sony's biggest third party partners, and we suspect things are still just getting started. Other news this week includes the announcement of Borderlands 4, new Mafia and Dying Light games, word of Sea of Thieves' meteoric success on PS5, impressive Silent Hill 2 Remake gameplay footage, tons of Astro Bot spoilers, pricing details for Until Dawn Remake, and more. As usual, listener inquiries help us round things out. How come rank-and-file developers never get the blame for bad games? Can Chris guide a new Destiny 2 player through the trials and tribulations of figuring things out? Which upcoming PlayStation-aligned game-as-a-service has the most potential? Has Colin yet again offended the sensibilities of the Irish? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
