In the midst of the Oscar season, the SAG Awards, the PGA Awards, the BAFTAs, the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards, and of course, The Deucies, we mustn't lose sight of the fact that we are still filling the Big Bracket with names and memorable, ICONIC, movie roles -- so what better way to merge the award season into the Big Bracket with an Oscar Winner Tourney. And to help decide this all important winner -- Lil G, the Spawn of Scotty Ryfun, joins Mike and d$ while #TwitterlessDrEarl is on assignment in Nova Scotia. Sixteen Oscar winning actresses -- only roles that won the golden statue, not just nominated, because if you're not first, you're last -- on one side, and 16 Oscar winning actors on the other. Tonight's ep involves some incredible actresses -- Emma Stone and Jessica Chastain hope that being recent winners will cement their own legacy in the voters eyes, while Hollywood royalty like Vivian Leigh and Audrey Hepburn hope that multiple generations of stardom will put them through. Gregory Peck's Atticus Finch strides through the courtroom of Bracket Opinion, while Daniel Plainview drinks your Big Bracket Milkshake. Some actresses appear twice, some movies get multiple shots at glory, and for some roles, this might be their only chance to move forward. And who knew that Mikey hated Gladiator so doggone much?

He is known best for creating the HBO television series: Entourage. Ellin also served as executive producer, director, head writer, and supporting actor for the series – and wrote, directed, and produced its 2015 film adaptation. Ellin moved to LA in the early 1990s to be a stand-up comedian and soon got a job in the mail room at New Line Cinema. Ellin reached the A-list of Hollywood deal-makers & creators in 2004 with his beloved series – Entourage – which became a cultural phenomenon and industry touchstone. On this week’s For Your Consideration, Collider’s awards experts Scott Mantz, Perri Nemiroff and Jeff Sneider recap the SAG Awards, the PGA Awards and the ACE/Eddie Awards, all of which are important precursors on the road to the Oscars. SAG gave Parasite the award for Best Ensemble, but did that boost its Best Picture chances, or was it simply the only way to honor this cast, none of whom were nominated as individuals?Meanwhile, 1917 won the PGA Award, while Parasite and Jojo Rabbit split the top prizes from the editors guild. 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood didn't make the cut in the Best Editing category, so that major award will be going elsewhere this year, and if Parasite wins, that could signal a Best Picture upset later in the night. As for the second half of the episode, the FYC gang runs down why each Best Picture contender will win, and why each film will lose. There are pros and cons to each movie, and we can't wait to see what happens on February 9. Jeff, for one, is predicting a shocker, though you'll have to watch the episode to find out what it is.Make sure to leave a COMMENT below with your own thoughts on the Best Picture race, and remember to LIKE and SHARE this video on social media. He heroically recorded this quickisode solo as I couldn’t risk driving through the ice storm that we had this weekend. Apologies for my absence, but glad I still have internet & power to write these show notes for you all. As an added bonus, I can heckle Mike from afar because this will undoubtedly be the WORST EPISODE OF MMO EVER!!!! (Cuz I’m not in it.) Just kidding. I’m really proud of my co-host for holding down the fort to bring you your Monday movie talk fix, and if you listen, you’ll realize exactly what I just did, that he does not need me at all. That being said, let the heckling begin. Mike 1 starts the episode off like everyone’s awkward neighbor - with a chat about the weather. But don’t you worry, as I did. For when the microphone is turned on after that MMOW music plays, no topic is safe from a hot take, even when it’s just an MOW. MIke 1 kicks things off extra hot by condemning all meteorologists throughout our state for their utter incompetence in predicting this weekend’s weather (which I will gladly co-sign here), and within mere minutes, we are entertained. Mike updates you on our upcoming schedule with the Oscar Nom Reaction show coming to you on Tuesday. Then he previews our remaining Oscar Race coverage before diving into a few of our regular segments. #SixDegreesOfMMO gets a new challenge, and this will finally stump even the best of you. I’m sure of it. (Somewhere @nebisben is doing a Rocky montage of clicking on IMDB). Then Mike waxes poetic on the Oscar Race Update, which demands some commentary after those insane PGA Awards. So Mike drops a bunch of scary Producers Guild Award stats and discusses the recent history Best Picture winners in common with the PGA’s. He chats about the overall strength of the motion picture category and builds to the unlikely winner, Green Book. Where’s the backlash? Is it still yet to come? Or will the PGA’s be prophetic once again? Mike does a marvelous job of outlining the overall controversy, something we’ll continue to dive into throughout the rest of this Oscar Sprint. Then in a feat of oratorical prowess, he plays devil’s advocate against himself! Like I said, I’m very proud of Mike 1 for holding down the fort, and I’m excited to talk to him again soon in our next recording session, which we hope will be Tuesday after the nominations. Stay tuned for a whole lot of MMO coming your way over the next 6 weeks leading up to Oscar Sunday. Let us know what you think of Green Book’s big win. We’re @MMandOscar on Twitter, & Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. We’re available just about everywhere you can listen to podcasts. The Filmotomy Seminar gathers a bunch of hopeful, not yet completely disheveled, Oscar watchers ahead of the Producers Guild of America announcement. This time around I am joined by: our newest writer at Filmotomy, Daniel Joyeux; returning from the last seminar, Tom Beasley; our regular Podcast host, Bianca Garner; and usual suspects in all things film-discussion, Doug Jamieson and Jonathan Holmes. The six of us attempt to grapple with where the Oscar race is right now, looking for those fifth slots, potential surprises, and dreaded snubs. We also talk about the upcoming PGA Awards, choosing our picks to win, and where the awards season goes from there. Please enjoy the show. Have a listen while you finalise your own PGA predictions. Please subscribe on Stitcher, iTunes, and SoundCloud - and we always welcome your comments, reviews, and ratings.

Awards season is in high gear and we have the latest winners from the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Producers Guild Awards! We discuss the outspoken SAG winners who took the opportunity to speak out on current events in unique and inspirational ways and Sean gets on his soap box about appreciating films regardless of awards recognition. Then, we bring back our Late to the Party segment and talk about our delayed appreciation of Black Mirror and the films Loving and Kubo and the Two Strings. Amita also shares why Hell or High Water was not worth her wait. Also, we celebrate our love for Missy Elliott and her new video, I'm Better. And once again we return to Sean's House Of Hyperbole and hear about his experience sitting front row at his musical hero, Nile Rodgers, recent concert. Finally, Sean gives Amita his review of last week's Big Sell, and introduces his Big Sell- jazz singer, Abbey Lincoln.
