In this episode Mark speaks to author Johnny B. Truant about THE ARTISAN AUTHOR. Prior to the interview, Mark shares comments from recent episodes, a personal update, and a word about this episode's sponsor. This episode's sponsor: This episode is sponsored by an affiliate link to Manuscript Report. Use code MARK5 at checkout and save $5.00 off your own personalized report. In the interview, Mark and Johnny talk about: Johnny's return to this podcast (with neither of them being able to remember how many episodes he'd been on previously). Technically, this is his fourth time. Two previous episodes were interviews, and the other was Johnny's brief guest reflection spot in Episode 300 Why Johnny's new book THE ARTISAN AUTHOR is a much-anticipated and needed book in the industry A definition of what it means to be an artisan author, which is kind of the opposite of being a "rapid release, Kindle-only eBook" author The importance of taking away that stress-cycle of having to pump out so many books as a single prescription "how to do it" answer Remembering an important thing that, just like there is no single "the way" neither is being an artisan author The paradigm shift and mindset change that is required as a fundamental starting point How readers outside of the eBook/Kindle-only marketplace aren't as focused on lower price points and are okay with higher prices The reality of the publishing landscape in terms of the books being sold and money being earned The misinterpretation of the book Johnny and Sean Platt released years ago called WRITE, PUBLISH, REPEAT How there are two kinds of writers. The type who approach the business as trying to solve a puzzle and the type who approach it as a way of telling a story that they really want to share How a call of "go slow and make art" is not nearly as sexy as a "solution" The experience of driving off to meet a couple of long-term fans to sign and sell directly to them Connections and humanity being a key element of the artisan author experience The value of authentic connection, regardless of whether or not it's in person or online That powerful experience Johnny had doing one of his first major live book signing events as an author at Author Nation in Vegas and how that led to doing a lot more in person events The ability to adapt to a customer based on their reactions in person Look at it as connections, and then if sales happen . . . great! Being really generous with your time and attention Some of the logistics of doing an in person book signing A couple of unexpected and amusing anecdotes from selling books in person The Kickstarter that Johnny is doing for this book, which runs July 15 through Aug 14 (johnnybtruant.com/artisan) The additional "continuum of education" that Johnny is including in this Kickstarter (Artisan University) The importance of authors entering into things with conscious decisions rather than just blindly following the generic advice they've found And more . . . Welcome to the first Energy Forecast of 2025! This month's theme, “A January Like No Other,” highlights the dynamic and transformative energy that sets the tone for the year ahead. January invites us to embrace change with openness and agility while grounding ourselves in intentional living. In the final days of December, just before the New Moon, the vibrational shift was palpable. The deep, inky black of December's energy gave way to a glowing, soft orange. Key Themes of the January Energy Forecast: 1. Depth of Stillness – This month's stillness may feel like stagnation or even paralysis. However, it offers a profound space for recalibration, clarity, and realignment with your core values. 2. Rest and Replenish – Use this time to hold steady and gather your strength. Prioritize practices that restore and replenish your physical, mental, and emotional reserves. 3. The Quickening of Release – Rapid energy shifts encourage the release of outdated patterns and beliefs. Stabilize and rebuild as you integrate these changes into your life. 4. Navigating Activation and Awareness – Increased nervous system activity may bring heightened fight-flight-freeze responses. Utilize grounding tools like mindfulness and breathwork to move from reactivity to intentionality. 5. Grounding in New Foundations – After the deep introspection of late 2024, January offers a chance to stabilize in the new energetic foundation you're building. 6. Welcoming Fresh Beginnings – This year, January's fresh starts feel more profound. Embrace the liminal space as an opportunity for clarity and alignment without rushing into commitments. 7. Alchemizing Grief into Transformation – Loss and grief experienced in recent months transform into growth and renewal, paving the way for authentic liberation. 8. Healing the Power Dynamic – Old paradigms of victim/violator dynamics are evolving. Transform these roles to reclaim your sovereignty and step into your authentic power. 9. Cultivating Hope – Hope becomes a revolutionary act. Nurture it as a sacred energy and a beacon of light, both for yourself and the collective. 10. Envisioning and Creating Your Future – Focus on aligning your actions with your intentions. Even small steps carry immense power in manifesting your desired reality. 11. Elevating Your Physical Body – Are you allowing upgrades? Physical upgrades call for deep listening to your body's needs. Embrace this as part of your spiritual journey toward higher vibrational alignment. 12. Honoring Vibrations and Energetic Awareness – Tune into your personal energy and its impact on others. Cultivate balance and harmony in your energetic exchanges. 13. Awakening to Cosmic and Spiritual Guidance– Heightened connections to spiritual realms offer deeper insights and multidimensional awareness. Trust the messages and partnerships arising now. 14. Igniting Inner Brilliance – Your “star seeds” (inner sparks of light) connect your body and soul. Nurture them through inspiration, creativity, and connection to illuminate your path forward. Journal Questions 1. What areas of my life feel stagnant or in need of recalibration? 2. What outdated patterns or beliefs am I ready to release? 3. How can I align my intentions with the energy of new beginnings? 4. What lights up my inner brilliance, and how can I allow more of it to flow into my life? Affirmations for January • I embrace the stillness and allow clarity to emerge within me. • I am a co-creator with the Universe, shaping my reality with intention and grace. • I download upgrades for my body, integrate the wisdom, honor my body's needs, and trust its wisdom to guide me toward balance and vitality. . • My inner Light shines brightly, illuminating my path forward. And how the shoulder isn't really a "ball-and-socket" joint like the hip, but a "ball-and-dish" socket that allows the unique range-of-motion offered by the shoulder.—The causes of shoulder pain, including: rotator cuff tear, labrum tear, bursitis, and tendinitis (which is the most common cause). And the diagnostics and testing involved in shoulder issues.—The JTECH computerized range-of-motion test used at Holistic Integration that provides an objective analysis of your shoulder. Fibromyalgia and Myofasciitis are often confused with one another, even by doctors. But, Dr. Prather explains that both are unique and must be treated very differently. But Fibromyalgia should use only one or two points at a time, with Laser and Powder Acupuncture techniques used more often by Dr. Prather than the needles. —The importance of Diathermy for Fibromyalgia patients to increase blood flow and lymphatic flow, while increasing detoxification and boosting the immune system. And why Dr. Prather calls it an "amazing" treatment for Fibromyalgia.—How Dr. Prather says "you are never going to get anywhere" with Fibromyalgia without proper supplementation, which is "a game-changer". Authors are notorious for being introverts and lone wolves. Often, this mentality can make reaching success in their author careers much harder than it needs to be. Hire a PA, of course! In today's episode, I'm talking about all the ways a personal assistant can help an author free up time, expand their reach, and earn more. Click here to have a listen! Rapid Release Therapy is the “go-to” therapy for physical therapists, chiropractors, sports trainers, and the health and medical community. The next generation in vibration therapy, it delivers precise targeted energy to offer fast and effective relief. The Doctor Dads sit down with Jeff Maier, VP of sales and marketing for Rapid Release Technology and discuss the science used behind the development of this amazing instrument. Jeff schools us on what makes the rapid release so effective- resonance, TVR (Tonic Vibration Reflex), hyaluronic acid viscosity, fascia floating, glycation, and how it gives such an extremely therapeutic effect when used effectively. Dr Paul Nogier, French neurologist, published in 1972 the frequency of scar tissue and the “Universal Healing Frequency” was 147Hz. The highly beneficial Tonic Vibration Reflex or TVR is triggered when vibrating muscles between 100 and 200Hz. Rapid Release operates right in the middle of this frequency range. The TVR is documented in Pubmed to relax the agonist/antagonist co contractions, the mechanism behind spasms, cramps and muscle guarding. According to pubmed, there is strong evidence to suggest enhanced strength, flexibility, stamina and proprioception, strongly suggesting neural enhancement. Dr. Nick and Dr. David use this device in their clinics and highly recommend this to any practitioner in the health field. Whether you are an athlete, average joe, homemaker, or pain relief seeker the rapid release may just create the magic you are looking for. Visit www.rapidreleasetech.com or CALL 949-899-6142

Episode 85 is right around the corner and with this one, we fill our third chair with regular favorite guest Adan. But what is this episode all about The game has been changing. The introduction of 6th edition has been met with quite a lot of criticism from the tournament scene over the last year. The fast changing release of codexes and codex expansions is quickly changing the face of the game, preventing any one build or codex from maintaining a lead over another for long. We explore the impact of how this is changing not only the tournament scene, but how this is having an impact on purchasing models & armies for non-tournament gamers, as well as how it is effecting retailers. We also take an in depth look at the new Imperial Armour Apocalypse released by Forge World as well as the new release of Apocalypse Warzone: Damnos by Games-Workshop. Not only that, we have an interesting interview for you from Erasmus, the driving force behind the video The Lord Inquisitor, which has the blessing of Games Workshop and the participation of Aaron Dembski-Bowden.
