In this episode, we delve into the advances, myths, and realities of knee and joint replacement with Dr. David William Fabi, a board-certified, fellowship-trained joint replacement specialist and internationally recognized pioneer in the field. Darleen, the host,  engages Dr. Fabi in a dynamic conversation about why the frequency of knee replacements is increasing, the influence of the baby boomer generation on current trends, and why more people are opting for surgery at younger ages. Listeners will uncover the intricacies of elective joint replacement—why “need” isn't always the right word, the value of conservative management, and the sometimes murky results around popular treatments like PRP and stem cell therapies.Dr. Fabi sheds light on major advances in surgical approaches, including smaller incisions, improved implant design, and the integration of robotics and computer technology, which have significantly improved outcomes, shortened recovery times, and reduced dissatisfaction rates. He shares invaluable tips for patients: from what questions to ask surgeons about technology and technique, to the importance of mental health and motivation in post-surgical recovery. We also tackle the nuances of online research, patient-doctor trust, and the evolving landscape of telemedicine and AI in orthopedic care. The episode wraps up with a forward-looking discussion on the future of joint replacement—touching on artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and even 3D printing—as well as advice for those considering surgery to prioritize quality of life, seek second opinions, and connect with relatable, authentic care providers. If you—or someone you love—is considering a knee replacement or just curious about how technology is reshaping the field of orthopedics, this episode offers must-hear insights and takeaways from a leading expert.San Diego Orthopedic Institute. In this episode of The Side Hustle Squad Podcast, we sit down with Lamont Hairston from Hairston Property Management to talk about something every business owner eventually faces — health, recovery, and the importance of having a backup plan. Lamont opens up about dealing with hip pain for more than two years before ultimately undergoing a full hip replacement surgery. We discuss the physical and mental toll it took on him, what recovery has looked like, and how it forced him to think differently about his business operations. This episode is a reminder that as entrepreneurs, we often push through pain and put ourselves last while focusing on customers, employees, and growth. But what happens when your body tells you to slow down? We also dive into: Why every business owner needs contingency plans in place Delegating work and building relationships with trusted companies Creating systems so your business can survive without you The importance of yearly physicals, blood work, and preventative healthcare Thinking long-term instead of just surviving the daily grind Lessons learned from being forced to step away from the field A powerful conversation about health, leadership, and building a business that supports your life — not one that completely depends on you.

In this episode of the Big Bad Broadcast, John and Mike dive into the intriguing world of dreams and nightmares. We kick things off with dreams: a recurring dream of searching for a bathroom and a humorous visitation dream involving a late friend. As the episode progresses, we explore the significance of dreams and whether they hold any deeper meanings. We recount a poignant story about a psychic who connected with a deceased friend, adding depth to the discussion of dreams and the afterlife. We also touch on the absurdity of modern-day advertisements, particularly those for weight loss medications like Ozempic and Manjaro, and the societal pressures surrounding body image. In a more personal segment, John shares his recent experience with hip replacement surgery, detailing the surprisingly quick recovery process and the advancements in medical technology. We discuss the challenges of physical therapy and the importance of staying active, all while maintaining our signature comedic tone. Throughout the episode, we maintain our trademark humor, poking fun at ourselves and the absurdities of life, from the quirks of our dreams to the realities of aging and health. Joints play a critical role in how we move, stay active, and maintain independence—but joint pain and arthritis can make everyday activities challenging. In this episode of Health Matters, host Courtney Allison speaks with Dr. Nana Sarpong, an orthopedic surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia, about how joints function and what happens when cartilage wears down. Dr. Sarpong explains the difference between mechanical osteoarthritis and inflammatory forms of arthritis like rheumatoid arthritis, including how each impacts joint movement, pain, and stiffness. The conversation covers conservative treatment strategies such as anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, bracing, and injections—along with when surgery becomes the right option. Dr. Sarpong also explains how modern joint replacement surgery works, how long implants now last, and what recovery looks like. Dr. Sarpong debunks common myths, including whether cracking your knuckles is harmful, if weather really affects joint pain, and the idea that people with arthritis should avoid movement. His key message: motion really is lotion—and staying active is essential for protecting your joints and preserving long-term mobility.   Chapters 00:00 – What Are Joints and How Do They Work? An overview of joint anatomy, function, and why joints are essential to movement 04:30 – Arthritis and Joint Conditions The difference between osteoarthritis and inflammatory arthritis, causes of joint pain and stiffness 08:45 – Treating Joint Pain and Arthritis Conservative care, physical therapy, injections, and when surgery becomes the right option 12:00 – Protecting Your Joints and Busting Myths Exercise, weight management, common misconceptions, and the importance of staying active   Key Topics Covered How joints function in the body Osteoarthritis vs. rheumatoid and inflammatory arthritis Causes of joint pain, stiffness, and cartilage loss Physical therapy and non-surgical treatments Joint replacement surgery and recovery Exercise recommendations for joint health Weight loss and joint load reduction Myths about cracking joints and weather-related pain Takeaway Message Joint pain doesn't mean you should stop moving. Staying active, strengthening the muscles around your joints, and managing weight can help protect joint function and slow arthritis progression. When conservative treatments stop working, modern joint replacement surgery offers safe, durable solutions that can restore mobility and independence for decades.   Doctor Bio Nana Sarpong, MD, MBA, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction. He is skilled in minimally invasive techniques, including partial knee reconstruction, primary hip replacement (both direct anterior and mini-posterior hip approaches), knee replacement, hip resurfacing, and complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement after failed surgeries. His practice leverages advanced technologies, including computer-assisted navigation and robotics, and offers the latest evidence-based surgical and nonsurgical treatment options. Based on a rigorous process to identify healthcare providers with a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, Super Doctors named Dr. Sarpong one of New York's Rising Stars. Dr. Sarpong was raised in New York City and attended Brandeis University, in Massachusetts, on the Posse Foundation Leadership and Merit scholarship, graduating magna cum laude. He received his MD/MBA degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and received the Norman S. Stearns MD/MBA Excellence in Leadership Award. Dr. Sarpong completed his orthopedic surgery residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where he was elected as executive chief resident in his final year. As a chief resident, he was the recipient of the Nas Eftekhar award for excellence in adult reconstruction and the chief resident teacher of the year award. He completed the prestigious adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he received specialized training in navigation and computer-assisted joint replacement and complex and revision reconstruction. Dr. Sarpong is actively engaged in research, with more than 80 peer-reviewed papers, textbook chapters, editorials, and national and international scientific presentations to his credit. His ongoing research interests include the impact of enabling technologies on patient outcomes after hip and knee reconstruction. Dr. Sarpong has served as a peer reviewer for many academic journals, including Foot & Ankle Specialist, the Journal of Arthroplasty, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, HSS Journal, and the Knee Journal. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Association, where he was elected as an emerging leader. Dr. Sarpong is committed to developing the next generation of leaders in medicine as a mentor to medical students, residents, and fellows.

Preventing Injury, Reframing Pain, and Using Physical Therapy to Avoid Unnecessary Surgery: Dr. Tom Walters is a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist, founder of Rehab Science, and author of “Rehab Science: How to Overcome Pain and Heal From Injury,” an illustrated, body-region guide to common orthopedic problems and self-managed therapeutic exercises. Walters emphasizes using PT-style mobility and resistance training preventively to increase tissue capacity, manage load, and avoid overuse injuries, while warning against “no pain, no gain” and excessive volume or weight. He discusses “movement literacy,” hip and glute stabilizers, and how weakness can drive knee and back problems. Dr. Hoffman shares his own hip injury and recovery with targeted strengthening, illustrating that imaging findings often don't dictate function. Walters explains the biopsychosocial model of pain, graded exposure, the limits of RICE and ultrasound, and roles for manual therapy, taping, TENS, shockwave, acupuncture/dry needling, and PRP. They advocate prehab/rehab around surgery and note PT training and career prospects.

So Bo in the Power of Imagination - Neville Goddard facebook group asks, “Has anyone ever used Neville Goddard for eye floaters?”(And what did you imagine?)I betcha someone has…And you know what? It doesn't matter if nobody has. You might be the first one.I may have been the first one to use Neville's teachings for PTSD.I may have been the first one to use Neville's teachings for a hip replacement… without getting surgery.Doesn't matter. What I've found is this:The fastest way to stay stuck is to focus on the problem in any way.Neville Goddard's Problem with ProblemsWhen you focus on a problem, the mind kicks in.And the mind loves problems… because it was trained to find solutions.12 years of Catholic school for me…Seeking the right answer to the presented problemBut here's the trap:Problem → Solution → Problem with Solution. And nothing gets nailed. And the problems never end.People tell me all the time:“I couldn't do that.”“My doctor would say…”“But what if it doesn't work?”There's always a but.  But have you noticed…Human beings are weird. We get together, form groups, and bond over problems. Some people have a problem with Trump. Some people have a problem with people who have a problem with Trump.Me? I don't have a problem with any of that.I bought the Pearl of Great Price.Producer MomentsNeville taught that transformation happens in the twinkle of an eye…When you begin with a PRODUCER moment. The Producer Suggests a theme.Wouldn't it be cool…For me, it was simple. When I needed a hip replacement…I was walking with a stick, living on painkillers. Peeing outside instead of walking to the loo because it saved me eleven steps of stabbing pain. Now? I do Kung Fu on staircases. Because I avoided stairs for years. Not a problem anymore.Meanwhile…Psychologists and psychiatrists have told me, “You have no indicators of PTSD.”Chiropractors have told me, “You must have been misdiagnosed with scoliosis.”Why do these “problems” vanish?Because I stopped debating about them.Human vs DivineThe human part of you survives by managing problems. The divine part of you thrives by living from possibility.“Wouldn't it be cool to be the Kung Fu King?” When I moved into that state, I lost 60 pounds of ugly fat - effortlessly. The hip that “needed replacing” rebuilt itself.  Everyone asked me, “When did you have it done?”My whole life changed.Remember…Doctors said scoliosis would put me in a wheelchair in my twenties.Surprise: the only time I've sat in one was when I worked in a nursing home—and I only sat so I could understand what the residents were going through.PTSD? That's just imagination out of control. And the way out is imagination, in control.Identity is EverythingNeville nailed it: “You don't get what you want. You get who you are being.”It always begins with IDENTITY CHANGE.I became the Karate Kid long before the movie came out—and I beat scoliosis without surgery, braces, or a wheelchair. When PTSD hit, I went back to the woods. Learned Native American wisdom and survival skills. That shifted my identity again.Every breakthrough I've had started with identity.Final WordIf you've been problem-oriented all your life, the language of possibility will sound foreign at first. Like listening to Portuguese. But keep at it—it clicks.Because who you really are is God, having the adventure of a lifetime. You didn't come here to manage problems. You came here to live from possibilities. That's it.Have a lovely day.My name is Mr. 2020.Ready to rock and roll?Grab Identity Based Manifesting and save $100 bucks todaySee ya.

This episode is pure gold. I'm chatting with Zora Benhamou—biohacker, gerontologist, and all-around powerhouse—about her journey through osteoarthritis and double hip replacements. Diagnosed with a condition most people associate with their 70s, Zora turned what could've been a major setback into an opportunity to biohack her way to a killer recovery. We're talking pre-surgery prep, post-op recovery, and everything in between: PRP, stem cells, anti-inflammatory diets, and the exercises that kept her strong through it all. She also dives into the role of genetics, menopause, and even an old skiing injury that played a part in her diagnosis. With over 500 million people worldwide struggling with osteoarthritis, Zora's story is a must-listen for anyone navigating joint pain or recovery. It's practical, inspiring, and packed with actionable advice to help you take control of your health. Listen and learn how to heal like a biohacker.
