Today, Portfolio Manager and Director of Research Reetu Kumra joins host Pamela Ritchie to give an update on the the Canadian Long/Short Alternative fund and what alternative investing trends she's keeping an eye on. Reetu talks about the fund's positioning and describes the four super sectors she keeps an eye on:  interest rate sensitive sectors, resources, consumer, and industrials. She says the Canadian Long/Short Alternative fund aims to generate alpha within the super sectors while being largely neutral across them. Reetu says there is no crypto in the Canadian Long/Short Alternative Fund, crypto is seen as a diversifier. But she does add that research has shown that adding a 1 to 3% slice of Bitcoin to a traditional 60/40 portfolio can increase risk adjusted returns by 12 to 34%. My guest this week is Reetu Kabra, a London-based publicist with over 15 years' experience working in house for renowned media and entertainment companies including the BBC and BBC Studios, UKTV, Discovery Networks and Penguin Random House.  During her time at BBC Worldwide she handled global publicity for the internationally acclaimed Doctor Who and Sherlock as well as other major BBC dramas including War & Peace, Luther and Wolf Hall.  In 2017, she managed the Cannes Film Festival publicity campaign for Jane Campion's Top of the Lake: China Girl.   Shortly thereafter Reetu founded her own company: RKPR, where she manages personal publicity for a number of actors and writers, as well as consulting for clients including Amazon Prime, Netflix and Apple TV+ among others. She recently worked as a unit publicist for The Essex Serpent starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston (AppleTV+/See-Saw Films) and the adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman (Netflix).  We discuss many things, including how Reetu wound up working in the entertainment industry, where you begin with creating a publicity campaign and defining your audience, what exactly unit publicity is, what goes into creating behind-the-scenes featurettes such as this one for The Essex Serpent and what sets RKPR apart. Reetu was an incredibly intelligent and incisive guest and for me, this conversation served as a reminder that there really is a strategy behind publicity and how shows or even people get promoted, it's not just about putting a trailer up on YouTube and hoping for the best. There is real creativity and specificity and ambition when it comes to finding an audience for a film or TV series.

Moi everyone and welcome to listen to Finnish with Reetu episode 3 - Huonepakopeli. Today I will talk about that topic and then ask from you some questions regarding what you just heard. After that it is time to learn some idioms such as ”ruista ranteisiin.”

The very first episode will be dealing about my personal story regarding identity crisis and you will learn quite many idioms and slang words from it.

Reetu Gupta is living the American dream. She grew up in a tiny town in Northern India and against all odds, she found her way to an education and a job at a software company. In the late 90's, she immigrated to the U.S. with a job offer from AT&T Wireless. Arriving with two suitcases and $2,000 in hand, she marched boldly into the land of opportunity. Reetu started as a principal software engineer and climbed the corporate ladder at Honeywell. Reetu has also authored several user interface patents in aerospace cockpit technology. As if that wasn't enough, Reetu went on to get her MBA from the University of Washington and is the founder and CEO of CirkedIn. After spending several weeks helping her daughter fill out applications for a prestigious private school, Reetu was shocked by how much time it took to compile her daughter's notable achievements and activities. She grew frustrated that there wasn't a good solution for students to document and showcase their work, so she decided to do something about it! CirkledIn can be described simply as LinkedIn for high school students -- it helps students highlight their accomplishments and facilitates universities' recruitment process. We live in a digital age where colleges and employers are looking beyond test scores to students' holistic skills and achievements. Did you know that many colleges and universities have now made SAT/ACT optional? Instead of looking at these test scores, college admission officers are looking at an applicant's social media presence. This made Reetu think, “Why not take charge of the situation and showcase your best self?” Whether it's playing soccer or being on the student body council, every experience develops your personality and builds essential skills. By including all significant achievements and activities, CirkledIn highlights a candidate's holistic strengths and talents. Since its launch, CirkledIn has partnered with dozens of schools and youth organizations and is used by thousands of students. This conversation left me buzzing because of the energy that this Reetu gives off. You can't help but be inspired by her tenacity to achieve her life's dreams. She's a testament to one of my favorite statements, "anything is possible." Not only does she believe it, but she embodies it -- and so can you. Is the return on your life lower than your want?
