Did you know that at the end of 2023, December 13th to be exact, Biden signed a pledge at the UN Climate Summit, the COP28, that effectively states that those signatories must lead their countries away from all fossil fuels? This Fossil Fuel Eradication Pledge, of course, was never voted on but the wealthy, jet-setting, climatologists at the UN want you to never use gasoline or natural gas ever again!  This is the opposite of what Trump did! He made America non-reliant to any other country regarding our energy needs, while the Biden Administration wants you submissive to their world-governed state without giving you a choice. Today, I'm joined by my friend Francisco Guerra who has made it his life's mission to create tools that will protect us if Biden's Agenda succeeds. As we look back on 2023, there were many things the Biden Administration tried to sneak in before their final year in office and one initiative might just have slipped by you. And yet their houses are filled with gas stoves!  This is the opposite of what Trump did! He recognized that natural gas is hugely important for our self-sufficiency, our energy dominance, and our independence. Trump made America unreliant to any other country when it came to our energy needs, while the Biden Administration wants you submissive to their world-governed state without giving you a choice.   That's what's different about the American spirit. We fight back against the tyranny of the government, elected or not. So what does this mean for us? What can we do about the Fossil Fuel Eradication Pledge the Biden Administration is trying to sneak in?  Today, I'm joined by my friend Francisco Guerra who has made it his life's mission to create tools that will protect us if Biden's Agenda succeeds. Fran is a decorated entrepreneur and Time Magazine has ranked his work as one of the Best Inventions of the year! But better than all that, he is a strong patriot committed to protecting our rights.  Resources: Make your own fuel with the Sygnasifier at https://countonus.clickfunnels.com/syngasifier59029829 and never rely on the government for fuel again!! Welcome to episode 225 where talk about how to know when it's time to make a big change in our life.   In this episode, we dive into the essential topic of recognizing when it's time for a significant life change. We discuss common signs and indicators that might be telling you it's time to take a bold step towards personal growth and a more fulfilling life. From feeling unfulfilled and trapped in your current situation to persistent stress, our conversation shed light on these crucial cues that often go unnoticed. We share inspiring real-life stories of individuals who recognized these signs and successfully navigated transformative journeys. Throughout the episode, we emphasize the importance of self-reflection, goal-setting, and creating a plan for change. We also explore strategies to overcome common fears and hesitations that often hold people back from embracing change. By the end of this episode, you'll be better equipped to assess your own life and take the first steps toward a positive and meaningful transformation.   Key Takeaways:   Shame's Internal Struggle: Shame is an internal battle, leading to low self-esteem and an unrelenting self-critical voice that can be emotionally draining.   The Anxiety Connection: Shame often fuels anxiety, both social and generalized, as individuals fear judgment and rejection from others.   Perfectionism as a Double-Edged Sword: While perfectionism can mask shame temporarily, it can also lead to immense stress and hinder genuine self-acceptance and personal growth.     Life changes are a journey, not a race. With determination, patience, and the right support,  you'll create a more fulfilling life,  one step at a time.   Hey! EP223 Confidence: Setting Boundaries for Self-Assurance

Play Episode Listen Later Oct 3, 2023 30:07

Welcome to episode 223 where start the month with a brand-new episode all about confidence! In this episode we dove into the profound connection between self-doubt and the establishment of healthy boundaries. Self-doubt can be a pervasive force that affects personal and professional life, often leaving individuals questioning their abilities and self-worth. Today we explored how boundaries play a crucial role in breaking free from the grip of self-doubt and nurturing self-assurance.   Understanding Self-Doubt: First, let's dissect self-doubt. It's more than just a fleeting moment of uncertainty; it's a persistent internal voice that can chip away at one's confidence. We discussed the common signs and consequences of self-doubt, and how recognizing and acknowledging it is the first step towards transformation.   The Role of Boundaries: But what do boundaries have to do with self-doubt? Boundaries are the invisible lines that define our personal space, emotional limits, and what's acceptable in our interactions. We explained how failing to set clear boundaries can contribute to feelings of overwhelm, overcommitment, and burnout, all of which can fuel self-doubt.   How Establishing Boundaries Boosts Confidence: Now, let's shift our focus to how establishing and maintaining boundaries can be a powerful tool for boosting self-assurance. By respecting your own needs and limits, you send a message to yourself and others that your feelings and well-being matter. This newfound self-respect fosters self-assurance and a belief in your capabilities. Towards the end of our episode, I introduced our "Find Your Voice" course, which is designed to help individuals embrace their authentic selves, build self-esteem, and establish healthier boundaries. Plus, I have a special offer exclusively for our podcast listeners. Takeaway 1: Break Free from Self-Doubt: Recognize the signs of self-doubt and discover practical steps to break free from its grip, allowing your confidence to flourish. Takeaway 2: Empowerment Through Boundaries: Learn how setting and maintaining boundaries empowers you to respect your own needs and limits, fostering greater self-assurance. Takeaway 3: Your Journey to Self-Discovery: It's so important to embrace your authentic self, overcome self-doubt, and embark on a journey of self-discovery that leads to a more confident and fulfilling life.   Self-doubt can manifest as hesitation, fear, or uncertainty. It's that moment of pause before you speak up in a meeting, apply for a new job or pursue a personal goal. It can make you question your worth, your competence, and your place in the world.     Hey! Welcome to episode 222 where we pull another one forward…an episode all about how being real is necessary if we want to be assertive. In episode 98, we discuss how being brave means risking being open, being honest, confronting, setting limits with others and asking for what we need.  The ability to do these things is crucial if we want to have healthy relationships. We explore how to be assertive means to be genuine and therefore emotionally honest. It's the best way but not always the easiest nor is it always well received, mostly by people who themselves are afraid to be open.  But we know we can't be truly confident without it. We know we can't negotiate needs and create trust without it.  And we know we can't grow unless we get real. With ourselves, and with others.   Key Elements:   ·       Discuss how fear is at the core of avoiding honesty. ·       Look at four key areas we need to work on that comprise emotional honesty. ·       Describe ways you want to come across, contrasted with how we hope no one describes us.   Being emotionally honest takes commitment, practice, screwing it up, getting better at it and  incorporating it into who you are. Eventually it will be HOW you operate, and being anything else but will feel awkward and dishonest.   Hey! Guess what? I'm on a 4-week vacation right now, but I didn't want to leave you without regular content. I've chosen to fill these slots with some of our best interviews with business owners who have taken 4-week vacations. I want to inspire you with what's possible for YOU! Today's episode is an interview from 2018 with Steve Bousquet, and we spoke the day after he returned from a 4-week vacation.   I hope that, in the midst of the challenges and pain of entrepreneurship, you are inspired to make the 4 Week Vacation Pledge®️. I want you to be the next business owner that we support and celebrate in taking a 4-week vacation. You deserve it!   Profit by Design is a Tap the Potential Production Production.   Show Highlights: Dr. Sabrina is writing a book, The 4 Week Vacation®️, documenting what happens in a business from the moment that a business owner commits to taking a 4-Week Vacation until the time they take it. She will go deeper into what's involved in a later episode.  You can download Dr. Sabrina's 4-Week Vacation Jumpstart Guide right now. Go to www.drsabrinastarling.com/jumpstart. Steve talks about the 4 Week Vacations he's taken before, the first of which was not a “vacation” but rather an extended absence following an injury. Steve discusses what his business was like back when he had to take an unplanned six weeks off work in 2014.  The preparations and plans that Steven made, and why he made them,  before taking his unplanned six-week vacation. How Steve's business grew 6% without him being around.  Steve is still working on getting out of the way. The way that Steve implemented Pumpkin Plan and Profit First. The difference that having things clearly defined and money properly managed made to Steve's business. This time around, Steve took his 4 Week Vacation after growing the company by acquiring another business. Successfully doubling the business and integrating new team members smoothly at the same time. Steve's secret to keeping his staff for a really long time. Traveling to ten different businesses across southern America to get a different perspective and to get out of the way of his people's talents. The benefits of taking time off from your business.  How to start getting out of your own way in your business. Bringing in new people to train for unique roles and key functions and working through the pushbacks. The things that became really clear to Steve after taking four weeks off. The struggles that come with running a small business.  Always keep your eye on your mission. The importance of understanding the numbers. Hitting profit targets every year by implementing processes. Steven got really serious about watching his numbers in 2012 by using only three books- Simple Numbers, Straight Talk, Big Profit by Greg Crabtree, Accounting For The Numberphobic by Dawn Fotopulos, and Profit First by Mike Michalowicz. Tripling his company profit since the 2008 recession due to understanding the numbers. Is your business taking over your life? This is an important question to ask as you check in with yourself. It may be more accurate to ask the people around you what they are seeing. We business owners focus on putting out daily fires in our business to the point that we have no awareness of how other people see us, and those whom we love the most are watching us struggle and suffer. Don't we owe it to them (and ourselves) to do better?   I wrote the book, The 4 Week Vacation, to help business owners learn that work supports life and not the other way around. We developed our Better Business Better Life Jumpstart to help entrepreneurs and small business owners learn to recognize the signs that their businesses are taking over their lives so they can stop the cycle before it accelerates to burnout. In today's episode, I want to give you some important questions to ask to help you figure out if your business is taking over your life, along with steps you can take to reverse the trend.   Profit by Design is a Tap the Potential Production Production.   Show Highlights:   Questions to ask yourself and journal about: What has suffered in my life because of my business? How have the people closest to me been impacted by my business? What experiences have I missed or said NO to? In what ways have I neglected self-care? What dreams have I pushed away or let go of because of my business? What would I do if I could free up an extra 10 hours each week? How to dream of more and create a better future How to explore ideas and let new insights and awareness come to you Why you need to make the 4 Week Vacation Pledge (See Episode 245 for more info!) EP202 The Faces of Anxiety: Conquering Your Inner Turmoil Welcome episode 202 where we open a new month dedicated to understanding fear and anxiety, and how they can greatly impact on your life.   In this episode we introduce the concepts of fear and anxiety, specifically general anxiety and social anxiety and how they can play out in our life.  This can lead into self-sabotaging behaviors – some we may not even be conscious of – and can have huge impacts.  We will look at where it comes from, how it shows up in our life, and ways we can sabotage and thus keep ourselves stuck and missing out on some of the best things in life. We then talk about how someone can begin working on their anxiety and make some lasting changes. Healing old wounds about our lives and ourselves can help us create a way of being that is more authentic, courageous and in the moment.     Key Elements: ·      Defining the most common types of anxiety. ·      Process how fear and anxiety can cause us to self-sabotage. ·      Look at a case study of social anxiety.     To tackle your anxiety,  you must heal on the inside, while you're changing things on the outside.     Resources:   Make sure you sign up for the bonus downloads at www.ownitpowercast.com.  Tribe members will receive them in their email each week. Welcome episode 201 where we finish out the month digging deep about what makes it hard to just…make a choice.   In this episode we talk about some of the reasons why we may struggle to own and make choices that could actually make our life better.  We discuss the costs of missed opportunities, connection with others and our sense of self. From procrastination, perfectionism and resistance to change, we explore the reasons we struggle to climb out of the box of safety, and ways we can begin to get out there and take some healthy risks. We finish up the month by looking at why it can be hard to not only own but make choices that are good for our life. Since our choices can literally make our life what it is, I think this is an important topic.  Why are we holding back? Sitting on the fence? Putting off the decisions we know we need to make?   Key Elements: ·      Process the core issue behind our struggle to trust our choices. ·      Discuss the concepts of perfectionism, procrastination and resistance. ·      Look at ways you can begin to chip away at these old patterns and get started making changes.     Your real self wants better, knows there is better and knows that they can BE better, but fear keeps you stuck.     Resources:   Make sure you sign up for the bonus downloads at www.ownitpowercast.com.  Tribe members will receive them in their email each week. It can be extremely triggering for parents, so we will go over ways to pause, acknowledge, respond, and reflect on how we respond to whining. I will give you some helpful exercises to help with the whining. I will also do a 60-minute workshop at the end of the month that you won't want to miss, where we will go a little deeper! We discuss how to deal with whining: How whining is so triggering, myself included! How whining is two-fold, we get triggered but still have to deal with the behavior. Why we need to pay attention to our own triggers and how we respond. How to move from reactive to responsible parenting. You are not separate from your child; it's always an interaction resulting in some type of behavior. We don't want to place blame, just the recognition that we all play a part. How understanding this will help your family grow for the better. How to use PARR (Pause, Acknowledge, Respond, Reflect) to help with whining. Name your behavior when your child starts to whine. Why not giving a consistent response isn't helping. Why having a tool is essential to help you pause in stressful moments. How I thought of whining kids before I had children; spoiled, bratty, or entitled.Once I realized my trigger, how I was able to change how I responded to whining. You will make mistakes when dealing with triggers; just reset and try again.Whining is a secondary behavior to something else. How to do a parenting audit. When does the whining happen: time of day, near nap time, are they hungry, etc.?Is it in response to something?Find out the context of what is causing the whining.I will have a 60-minute workshop on whining at the end of March. Welcome to Episode 178 where we look at just how you can build or continue to work on gaining your INNER strength so you can have a confident, strong voice on the OUTSIDE. In this episode we discuss how in order to feel strong enough on the outside, we might first need to do some work on the inside to build our confidence around the things that are private and personal.  We get into what it means to work on building a strong inner core of self-trust, healthy boundaries and standing in your truth with emotional honesty.  Being assertive can be risky business, or at least feel that way at first, and ironically it requires a lot of courage to be this vulnerable.  This inner muscle work will certainly pay off over time as our insides match our outsides more.   Key Elements: Discuss healthy vs unhealthy ways to get needs met and deal with feelings. Look at how boundaries play a big part in self-confidence. Explore how allowing ourselves to do some healthy accepting of reality keeps us grounded and strong.                                                                                                       “If you want to improve your self-worth, stop giving other people the calculator.” – Tim Fargo   Resources: Make sure you sign up for the bonus downloads at www.ownitpowercast.com.  Tribe members will receive them in their email each week.
