Fantasmic! debuted on May 13, 1992 at Disneyland. Over the years, the show has added and subtracted different scenes and elements. Yet another character from the Marvel universe will be on site to visit with guests. Members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community celebrate pride every June. With all the controversy about the Florida “don't say gay” bill and Disney, the company has decided from now until June 30th, all profits from any pride merchandise will be donated to LGBTQIA+ organizations. Previously, only a small percentage of the profit went to support LGBTQIA+ youth and families. Hi Folks,We are doing a special show on the South Pacific Punch and the movie as well. Why South Pacific? This movie back in the 50s and "Blue Hawaii" with Elvis Presley made a major influence on North America culture and international to tiki culture and Polynesian crazy!!!We talk about two cocktails for this show: South Pacific Punch and the Castaway!! Both the drinks are from the Jeff Beachbum Berry "Remixed" book. Jeff is also another influence that brought back tiki to us. These cocktails use a wide range of Caribbean islands and also classic ingredient Falernum. I still have to make mine but if you can get it in the liquor store, I recommend it as it's shelf life last longer. On "Mark's Adventures" segment: we talk about no bar!!???? Yes, we don't talk about a bar but a company that gave all those tiki bars décor we know. Oceania Arts has been around for over 50 years and by the same owners who finally hanging it up for retirement. Robert Van Oosting and LeRoy Schmaltz started carving  Palm Frond masks out of their garage to sell. It grew and have supplied décor to tiki bars we know such as Trader Vic's, The Mai Kai, Don the Beachcomber, the Coco Palms in Hawaii, and The Tonga Room in San Francisco, but also Foundation Bar in Milwaukee, the Bali Hai remodel in San Diego, Hale Pele in Portland. Disneyland's  Trader Sam's Bar and the Tangaroa Terrace as well as Walt Disney World. Mark has visited this location and even came back with a blow fish light (jealous!!).In "Did You Know?" segment: we go in depth the movie South Pacific. It was released in 1958…and grossed over $36 million as a musical production. The filmed featured a lot of big names at the time but one in particular: Ray Walston (Mr. hand and My Favorite Martian). It also featured Russ Brown, Tom Laughlin, Rossano Brazzi, and Ken Clark. A few details that will blow you away including the singing voice of the Gringe sung by Thurl Ravenscroft who also sings for Ken Clark's character in the movie.Links to the show: The recipes: https://tikicentralcanada.ca/recipes/South Pacific songs YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeXvaHZj5twExample of a Palm Fronds mask video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jn6k-RFR3MRay Walston In Fast Time at Ridgemont High YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J8__fWphE0Oceanic Arts website: https://www.oceanicarts.net/YouTube video Oceanic Arts warehouse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkUiRPW-ISw

News: Extended hours for the parks haven't returned yet, but Magic Key Holders can experience something almost as good. From September 20th through October 7th, Magic Key Holders can ride Haunted Mansion Holiday after park closing for an additional hour Mondays through Thursdays! A valid park reservation and proof of Magic Key will be required to ride. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/09/16/the-exclusive-way-to-ride-haunted-mansion-holiday-in-disneyland/ Six Happy Haunts have taken leave from the Haunted Mansion Friday through Sunday evenings though Halloween! The SCAREolders, a six person a cappella group will entertain guests in Downtown Disney, with favorites like “I Put a Spell on You” and other tributes to Disney villains. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/09/downtown-disney-district-is-frightfully-delightful-during-halloween-time-at-disneyland-resort/ As we reported on previously, the PhotoPass services has moved from Main Street Photo Supply in Disneyland and Kingswell Camera Shop in Disney California Adventure to the exterior part of the Disneyland Newsstand. The new location is labeled as “Photo Concierge” and will be the single location for photo services. The old locations inside the parks will be repurposed for more merchandise. – https://www.micechat.com/302565-dateline-disneyland-jessica-rabbit-covers-up-as-lightning-lane-moves-in-at-disneyland/ A once state of the art system is almost completely gone from the parks. The FastPass machines have been removed from most if not all locations where they were previously installed in order to prepare for the launch of Genie+ and Lightning Lane. The new services will be offered through the Disneyland App only, so the old machines are no longer necessary. Some of the locations have been repurposed as shaded vending locations, while others are left empty for the time being. – https://www.micechat.com/302565-dateline-disneyland-jessica-rabbit-covers-up-as-lightning-lane-moves-in-at-disneyland/ The annual Gay Days Anaheim event took place over the weekend and drew quite a few LGBTQ++ guests and allies. Disney offered some rainbow food and merchandise options around the parks to celebrate. There was a Mickey Rainbow Cookie, Rainbow Cotton Candy, Rainbow Cake, and a Rainbow Parade Tumbler. – https://www.micechat.com/302565-dateline-disneyland-jessica-rabbit-covers-up-as-lightning-lane-moves-in-at-disneyland/ Guests sightseeing in Town Square at the beginning of Main Street might notice something new. The gates to the crowd overflow corridor near the Mad Hatter have been repainted to say “Welcome Friends” with “Disneyland Main Street, USA” and “Town Square Established 1955” above and below. – https://www.micechat.com/302565-dateline-disneyland-jessica-rabbit-covers-up-as-lightning-lane-moves-in-at-disneyland/ Some unannounced changes started to take place in a popular attraction in Toon Town last week. Jessica Rabbit will be taking over a different role in the attraction as the story is updated to better reflect today's mentality. Jessica will now be a Private Eye keeping an eye on the Weasels who are on a crime spree in Toon Town. Her busty character will be more modest with a trenchcoat covering her up, and her character has already been removed from the trunk of a car in the attraction. Imagineers are working on the updates outside of park hours to not close the attraction. No word on when the updates will be complete. – https://www.micechat.com/302565-dateline-disneyland-jessica-rabbit-covers-up-as-lightning-lane-moves-in-at-disneyland/ A more subdued color scheme has come to part of New Orleans Square. The former Le Bat en Rouge shop has transformed from the deep rouge color to a new green and gold that is reminiscent of Princess and the Frog. There is still no official word on what will go into this location, but MiceChat guesses that it will be a Princess and the Frog themed shop of some sort. – https://www.micechat.com/302565-dateline-disneyland-jessica-rabbit-covers-up-as-lightning-lane-moves-in-at-disneyland/ On Friday, October 1st, Walt Disney World will celebrate its 50th anniversary. To go along with the celebration, ABC will be presenting “The Most Magical Story on Earth: 50 Years of Walt Disney World.” Disney Legend Whoopi Goldberg will host the show, which will feature performances from Christina Aguilera and Halle Bailey from Cinderella Castle. The special will look at the past, present, and future of the resort with never before seen footage. The special will air at 10pm eastern, and will be on Hulu the next day, with Disney+ coming later. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/09/teaser-released-for-the-most-magical-story-on-earth-50-years-of-walt-disney-world-special-coming-to-abc/ With the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World coming up in less than 2 weeks, the president of Walt Disney World, along with the Global Ambassador for “The World's Most Magical Celebration,” dedicated the Disney Fab 50 golden sculptures of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse to cast members past, present, and future. The Fab 50 are 50 sculptures that were created of Disney characters to be placed all around Disney World for the 50th celebration. A plaque was also placed near the Mickey and Minnie sculptures commemorating the event. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/09/honoring-the-heart-of-our-magic-cast-members-of-past-present-and-future/ As we reported on last week, the infrastructure in the water to support Fantasmic! at Disneyland was being worked on, which is great news! This week, the platforms in World of Color lagoon have been raised and are being worked on. The projection housings we reported on being dismantled months ago still haven't returned. Hopefully this is a good sign that World of Color might make a return before the end of the year. Unfortunately, there is no official word on when either Fantasmic! or World of Color might be returning. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/09/photos-world-of-color-fountains-uncovered-for-refurbishment-at-disney-california-adventure/ A new Oogie Boogie popcorn bucket is now available for purchase in Disney California Adventure. For $11, guests can pick up this bucket, decorated with Oogie Boogie surrounded by the Headless Horsemen, Jack-o'-lanterns, and other Halloween icons. Some DCA attractions are also in the background of the bucket. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/09/photos-new-oogie-boogie-popcorn-bucket-available-at-disney-california-adventure/ Disneyland was able to fulfil the final wish of a longtime annual passholder and Star Wars fan who was killed in the line of service in Afghanistan last month. Marine Corporal Hunter Lopez told his parents before he deployed that if anything happened, he wanted to be buried with the lightsaber he built in Disneyland in 2019. The family couldn't bear to part with the saber that he built, so they went to Disneyland to build a replica. Friends who work for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and are members of Club 33 arranged to have a private Savi's Workshop session to create the saber. While dining in Club 33, the family was presented with an American flag that flew over Disneyland and framed in a plaque in honor and memory of Hunter, presented by Disneyland Security Vice President Dan Hughes. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/09/20/disneyland-pays-tribute-to-fallen-u-s-marine-killed-in-afghanistan-airport-attack/ Discussion Topic: Tage and Teresa talk about Oogie Boogie Bash and their upcoming trip. Mickey's Mix Magic lit up the night with a special 4th of July segment added to the end. The crowds for this performance were huge and looked like Disneyland before the pandemic. Once the show was over, getting out of the park took a while since the park closed soon after. – https://www.micechat.com/295512-disneyland-update-red-white-boo/ With the recent 4th of July celebration here in the US this past week, the Disney Parks Blog posted about the Flag Retreat Ceremony and it returning to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on July 1st. Disneyland's flag retreat has been happening daily since the reopening on April 30th. The ceremony is one of the park's oldest traditions. The flag retreat ceremony happens daily in the late afternoon in Town Square. Check with Guest Services for exact timing. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/07/time-honored-flag-retreat-ceremonies-return-to-walt-disney-world-resort-and-disneyland-resort/ The Disneyland Hotel has reopened along with a couple of it's famous establishments. Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar and Tangaroa Terrace both welcomed guests back for their great food and drink options. The Tangaroa Terrace bar is open 11am to midnight, and Trader Sam's is open 4pm to midnight. The bars have a 90 minute window to enjoy your food and beverages, to allow for more guests who are waiting to get in. – https://www.micechat.com/295512-disneyland-update-red-white-boo/ Trader Sam is celebrating at the Disneyland Hotel! The Enchanted Tiki Bar opened in 2011, making this their 10th year! To celebrate, a limited-edition pin inspired by the exterior of the location. The pin opens up to reveal a zombie head mug, along with a tiki! The pin is limited to 3,000 and is available on shopDisney.com for $19.99. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/07/02/trader-sams-is-celebrating-its-10th-anniversary-in-disneyland-with-a-limited-edition-pin/ It is just the beginning of summer, but it is so hard not to look forward to fall and Halloween! The park calendar has the Haunted Mansion going down for refurb from August 15th through September 3rd. This typically means only one thing! Haunted Mansion Holiday could be returning this year! Disney has not confirmed this at this time, but it seems likely. – https://www.micechat.com/295512-disneyland-update-red-white-boo/ Guests are once again enjoying the frosty peaks of Matterhorn Mountain, since it has reopened as of July 2nd. Also, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln also returned to the Opera House this week for guests to enjoy and take in some great air conditioning. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/07/02/photos-matterhorn-bobsleds-has-reopened-in-disneyland/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/07/photos-video-great-moments-with-mr-lincoln-reopens-at-disneyland/ and https://www.micechat.com/295512-disneyland-update-red-white-boo/ Coco is coming to the parks, but not exactly in the way we had imagined. On July 17th, a new Coco scene will be coming to Mickey's PhilharMagic in Disney California Adventure. “Un Poco Loco” will anchor the new scene, with Germaine Franco, one of the original composers from the movie, producing the score that is unique to the show. Disneyland Paris will also debut the addition on July 17th, with Disney World getting it for their 50th anniversary. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/07/disney-and-pixars-coco-coming-to-mickeys-philharmagic-on-july-17/ Disneyland Paris welcomed guests back to its parks recently, and with that a new FastPass option that may come to the US parks as well. Premiere Access, not to be confused with the same name as Disney+ Premiere Access, allows guests to purchase one “Premiere Access” at a time, ranging from $9.50 to $17.75, depending on the attraction. Some attractions will also have a virtual queue, which could mean the only way to ride an attraction is to pay for it. – https://www.micechat.com/295719-disneyland-update-summer-gets-normaler/ With all the great, happy news coming out of the resort lately, there is a bit of disappointing news as well. Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel, along with the PCH Grill at Disney's Paradise Pier hotel are permanently closed. Disneyland officials have said that “options are being considered” for both locations. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/07/01/disneyland-permanently-closes-2-restaurants-including-a-steakhouse-rich-in-disney-history/ and https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/07/02/news-2-restaurants-set-to-permanently-close-at-disneyland-resort/ The World of Color lagoon has some sad sights for fans of the nighttime show. The wooden structures that house the show lighting near Pixar Pier have been removed, showing extensive work in progress. This means that it is unlikely that the show will return in the near future. – https://www.micechat.com/295719-disneyland-update-summer-gets-normaler/ Maurice's Treats at the Princess Fantasy Faire has a new sweet menu item. The new item is a trio of Madeline cookies themed to Snow White, Belle, and Aurora. Snow White is flavored like chocolate chips, Belle has a citrus flavor, and Aurora tastes like raspberry. The treats have a mild flavor and are not overly sweet. They are not on the menu, so guests may have to ask for them. The trio is $6.49. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/07/01/photos-can-you-guess-which-princess-inspired-these-new-disneyland-treats/#more-515248 Luca fans will be very excited for this next DIY treat! News: With the higher temperatures on the horizon for Southern California, a new safety policy couldn't come soon enough for cast members. Fully vaccinated cast members can now go mask free outdoors. Masks are still required for all cast members indoors for now. Physical distancing for all cast members, indoors or out has also been phased out. This will greatly help in tight spaces like kitchen areas around the resort. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/fully-vaccinated-disneyland-employees-no-longer-need-to-wear-masks-outdoors/ and https://www.micechat.com/294044-new-disneyland-procedures-start-june-15-masks-off-no-physical-distancing/ With all of the changes recently to all the safety protocols around the resort, MiceChat posted a guide to all the current policies. These include the new cast member guidelines we talked about previously in this episode, as well as theme park reservations sticking around for the foreseeable future, face coverings no longer required anywhere except for transportation like buses for fully vaccinated guests, un-vaccinated or partially vaccinated guests must still wear masks, physical distancing is no longer required, ride capacity is back at 100% without plexiglass shields, dining capacity has also been increased, indoor queues are back in service, both parking structures are open, out of state guests are allowed, no temperature checks are required, and entertainment has started to return. – https://www.micechat.com/294044-new-disneyland-procedures-start-june-15-masks-off-no-physical-distancing/ A sign that things are coming to an end with the pandemic is the return of single rider lines at a few attractions this week. Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Smuggler's Run, Star Tours, and Splash Mountain at Disneyland, and Radiator Springs Racers, the Incredicoaster, and Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure now allow single riders. This should help get as many guests on attractions and out of the lines faster. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/26/disneyland-brings-back-single-rider-lines-for-most-popular-attractions/ Some attractions have reopened earlier than expected in the last week! Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Storybook Land Canal Boats both welcomed guests a day or two early. Storybook Land Canal Boats look great and have had a number of their elements updated during the closure. Buzz Lightyear has not been updated and we have seen reports online that some of the attraction vehicles have been tagged out of service. Hopefully maintenance can get to them soon and get Buzz back to 100%! – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-video-buzz-lightyear-astro-blasters-soft-reopens-at-disneyland/ Some great news for guests who want to walk around and see Avengers Campus! The land is now open to everyone and the gates that were in place to control the amount of people in the new land have been removed. Guests can now freely enter the land from any of the three entrances. This is making the ability to get food and to enter stores very easy, with little to no wait on most days. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ For those of you visiting the parks soon, the crowds look to be great! Even though more people are allowed in the parks now, the wait times for attractions have been lower than they were before the lower capacity! This, along with the cast members getting back into the swing of things has made the process much smoother. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ There have been some rumors that cast members that generally work on parades have been called back to work. This could mean the return of Magic Happens sometime this summer, which only had a couple of weeks to run before the pandemic shut it down. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ The Disneyland hotel will begin a phased opening this week as the Fantasy Tower opens to guests. Along with the one tower, the two pools and the Monorail water slides will reopen, as well as the fitness center. The Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's will also reopen to the public. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/12971/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_June_30__July_4_2021#news1 Construction has started in the park to prepare for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. The facades of the Toontown Five & Dime and the Gag Factory have been demolished to make way for the new entrance for the attraction. Once completed, the new El Capitoon theater will take their place as the new entrance. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-video-toontown-five-dime-and-gag-factory-facades-demolished-as-mickey-minnies-runaway-railway-construction-continues-at-disneyland/ We previously reported that mobile scan and go shopping was being tested in World of Disney in Downtown Disney. Now, that system has been expanded into the parks at the Emporium in Disneyland, and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure. Guests will use the Disneyland app or scan a QR code in the store to enter the system, then grab a mobile checkout shopping bag and scan the barcodes with their smartphone cameras to add the item to their cart. Once done, guests check out through the app and show a QR code to a cast member on the way out of the store at a designated mobile checkout exit. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/disneyland-brings-scan-and-go-shopping-to-theme-park-stores/ Hollywood Land is the place for Avengers photo ops. A new Black Panther photo op has appeared this week in the land. It is the same setup used for the previous Black Panther meet and greet, but without the character this time, due to social distancing. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-black-panther-photo-op-arrives-in-hollywood-land-at-disney-california-adventure/ Just a quick follow up to something that we talked about a couple of weeks ago. The food waste trashcans have been rolled out to more locations around the resort recently. If you have any food waste, please dump it in these new recepticals so it can be recycled and not just end up in the landfill. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/disneyland-makes-tossing-out-leftover-food-a-little-less-wasteful/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/disneyland-resort-expands-sustainability-efforts-with-new-food-waste-bins/ On June 27th, which was Global Pride Day, Salt & Straw donated 5% of all its proceeds to local LGBTQ+ charities. For the Downtown Disney location, Reach LA was the charity chosen. Reach LA works with young LGBTQ people of color to “increase self sustainability by encouraging creative expression, supporting safe spaces and promoting health and wellness.” – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/06/26/disneylands-salt-straw-celebrating-global-pride-day-by-donating-to-local-groups/ Another fun treat has made its way to Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff in Pixar Pier. The new Forky cake pop looks like a sweet version of the character himself. The cake pop is sweet vanilla covered in white chocolate, and decorated to look like Forky. Reviews have said that it is pretty moist and very sweet, so be aware of this. Forky costs $5.49. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/06/24/review-toy-story-fans-will-love-disneys-new-sweet-treat/ Donald Duck Commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6VVOmT0Vk8 Discussion Topic: Evan

News: Disney announced that the theme parks in Walt Disney World in Florida would be reopening to the public in July. The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11th, followed by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15th. With us to talk about how attending the parks will be different and how to get back into the Disney Magic is our friends over at ConciEARS, Communications ConciEAR and voice of DLWeekly, Erik. – https://www.micechat.com/260735-disneyland-update-unrest-reopenings-poll-results-reader-photos/ and https://wdwnt.com/2020/05/wdwnt-weekly-recap-walt-disney-world-reopening-plans-finally-revealed-world-of-disney-reopens-at-disney-springs-and-more/ Bob Chapek was interviewed on CNBC this week to talk about the parks reopening in Florida, and how the company is doing overall. He is very optimistic that the Disney fans are excited to return to the parks and haven’t cancelled their reservations, which is a good sign. Chapek was pleased with the response to Disney Springs reopening and how things have been going in Shanghai. Online sales at shopDisney have also been strong. – https://www.micechat.com/260735-disneyland-update-unrest-reopenings-poll-results-reader-photos/ In hopefully the last time this will happen, Disneyland has pushed back reservations to July 15th. If you are wanting to visit the resort, that is the earliest that you can book a vacation at this time. This date has been changed a number of times over the last couple of months from May 1st, to June 1st, now to July 15th. – https://www.ocregister.com/2020/06/01/disneyland-resort-hotels-push-back-reservations-until-mid-july/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2020/06/disneyland-resort-now-only-accepting-reservations-for-july-15-and-later/ Disneyland sent out a survey to Annual Passholders this week asking a number of questions, like when they would feel safe to return and under what circumstances. This survey was very similar to one that we spoke about on a previous episode from Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. – https://www.micechat.com/260625-disneyland-survey-illuminates-reopening-options-live-polls-included/ and https://www.ocregister.com/2020/06/01/disneyland-survey-asks-when-will-passholders-feel-safe-to-return/ and https://www.ocregister.com/2020/06/01/disneyland-surveys-passholders-about-masks-temperature-checks-and-health-questionnaires/ Another aspect of the survey sent to Annual Passholders asked about possible ideas for the future. The most interesting of these was “How likely would you be to order Disneyland prepared food and beverages delivered to your home?” Could this mean that Disney might offer some form of food delivery service in the future? – https://www.ocregister.com/2020/06/02/disneyland-wants-to-deliver-monte-cristo-sandwiches-and-dole-whips-to-your-home/ The State of California has left the decision to reopen retail to the different counties in the state. If the county allows retail to open, they must follow the state’s guidelines such as temperature checks for employees, frequent sanitation, and social distancing. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/05/25/news-california-counties-can-now-decide-when-to-reopen-in-store-retail/ As early as this month, California may enter stage 3 of reopening. Stage 3 allows theme parks to resume operations with changes in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The parks will be able to open as long as the rate of infections and hospitalizations remain stable. Other businesses that can open in stage 3 include salons, gyms, theaters, religious services, and more. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/05/26/news-disneyland-could-potentially-reopen-in-less-than-a-month-says-california-officials/ and https://www.micechat.com/260735-disneyland-update-unrest-reopenings-poll-results-reader-photos/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2020/05/disneyland-resort-can-reopen-under-stage-3-of-californias-reopening-plan-governor-states-stage-3-could-begin-as-early-as-june/ Cast Members have been sending out thank you cards to healthcare workers around the country. More than 40 hospitals, and 17,500 cards have been created so far. Disney has posted 16 different designs on the VoluntEARS Thank You Card webpage which employees can access. Some of the designs included Black Panther, Aladdin, Star Wars, and more. The cards will mail out this week. – https://www.micechat.com/260735-disneyland-update-unrest-reopenings-poll-results-reader-photos/ As if the pandemic wasn’t enough going on already, protests have begun happening around the country to put a light on racial inequality in the US. The Walt Disney Company this week posted support on every online platform and sent a letter out to all the employees sharing their sympathy and support. To read the letter yourself, check out the link in our show notes. – https://wdwnt.com/2020/05/disney-releases-statement-on-the-killing-of-george-floyd-and-racial-disparity/ and https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/resolve-in-a-time-of-unrest-a-message-to-fellow-employees/ With everything that is going on, some folks might have missed that we are now in June, which is Pride Month. To go along with that, Disney has released their Rainbow Mickey Collection to shopDisney. The collection includes a Rainbow Mickey plush, a Rainbow Minnie plush, a Rainbow headband, a Disneyland and Magic Kingdom variants of the Rainbow Fantasyland Castle, and more. – https://wdwnt.com/2020/06/shop-rainbow-collection-drops-on-shopdisney-in-honor-of-pride-month/ Later this year, Lucasfilm, ILMxLAB, and Oculus will premiere a new VR experience. Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge will take players through an action adventure experience in virtual reality that features new and iconic characters from the Star Wars universe. The story will take place between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. – https://wdwnt.com/2020/05/new-star-wars-tales-from-the-galaxys-edge-at-home-vr-experience-debuting-later-this-year/ Security Manager Tina was back at it again this week on Disneyland’s Instagram page showing some sights from inside of Disney California Adventure. She visited Grizzly Peak, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, Jessie’s Critter Carousel, Cars Land, and more. Tina even through in a bit of trivia to see if fans knew where she was in the park at one point! – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/05/cast-members-give-fans-an-inside-look-at-disney-california-adventure-park-magic-kingdom-park-and-aulani-resort/ If all the food recipes that Disney has already released just aren’t hitting the spot anymore, there is another new item to try at home. The Hawaiian Cheeseburger from the Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel recipe has hit the internet. There is quite the list of ingredients and components to this one, so it won’t be easy! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/05/31/disney-recipe-send-your-tastebuds-to-the-tropics-with-disneylands-hawaiian-cheeseburger-recipe/ For Peanut Butter and Jelly fans, especially at the Lamplight Lounge, Disney has released the recipe for the PB & J Rolls from the restaurant. The recipe is pretty simple with just 3 ingredients, and looks yummy. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/05/31/disney-recipe-make-pb-j-rolls-from-disney-california-adventures-lamplight-lounge/ A classic attraction was mentioned on an iconic game show last week. Daniel, a contestant on The Price is Right, hosted by Drew Carey, greeted the host with excitement stating “You’re Drew Carey… you were on Superstar Limo in Disney California Adventure, the greatest thing ever!” For those who don’t remember, Superstar Limo was the attraction that was replaced by Monsters, Inc in DCA. The original attraction was considered lackluster and “non-Disney” by a lot of fans when DCA first opened. – https://wdwnt.com/2020/05/excited-fan-gives-shout-out-to-ex-disney-california-adventure-attraction-superstar-limo-whilst-appearing-on-the-price-is-right/ On May 30th, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge turned one year old! Somehow it has already been a year since the new land opened to guests and Star Wars fans. The land received mixed reactions at opening, but with tweaks and the opening of Rise of the Resistance, the area has seem to found it’s groove with guests. – https://twitter.com/Disneyland/status/1266843843934093313 Discussion Topic: Peter Pan’s Flight: Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Pan%27s_Flight Disney Wikia: https://disneyparks.fandom.com/wiki/Peter_Pan%27s_Flight_(Disneyland_Park) Finding Mickey: http://findingmickey.squarespace.com/hidden-mickeys-disneyland/fantasyland/2532531 Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Toad%27s_Wild_Ride Disney Parks Blog: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2018/09/look-closer-mr-toads-wild-ride-at-disneyland-park/ Yesterland: https://www.yesterland.com/mrtoad.html Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/63631877@N00/4624670394
