There is a fish biscuit treat for the one eyed cat statue, and a new Candle-Man figure in the attic scene that is a nod to Disney Legend and Imagineer Rolly Crump from the Museum of the Weird concept. Of course the gingerbread house theme is new, depicting a new ghostly resident. – https://www.micechat.com/324041-disneyland-halloween-time-and-oogie-boogie-bash-guide/ The characters around the resort also have some new outfits to celebrate the season. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, Goofy, Clarabel and Chip and Dale all have new costumes for trick or treating. – https://www.micechat.com/324041-disneyland-halloween-time-and-oogie-boogie-bash-guide/ The “newest” land – or retheme of an area has officially opened in Disney California Adventure. San Fransokyo opened last Thursday to much fanfare and crowds. The new area features updated restaurants and menus, shops, and character meet-and-greets. The characters of Baymax and Hiro from Big Hero 6 drew large crowds, causing them to backup all the way into Cars Land. The same larger crowds also were present for the Baymax sourdough bread, which is new to the land. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/08/31/disneys-new-land-is-officially-open-come-explore-it-with-us/#more-848398 https://www.micechat.com/348419-disneyland-news-san-fransokyo-square-coming-soon-to-disney-california-adventure/ Magic Key Holders have more free gifts that can be picked up in the parks. I had fine artist and Illustrator Keith Batcheller on the podcast today. He went to ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, got his BFA, and worked with all these interesting folks afterward, including Bob Peak, Mark English, and Bernie Fuchs. When Keith became a professional illustrator he worked with big firms in New York, Chicago, and L.A. He eventually started working for Walt Disney Productions and did artwork for massive animated films like Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, and my personal favorite - Lilo & Stitch.Disney still uses Keith's illustrations to this day for all sorts of different reasons, whether it's for a Hercules toy or a Star Wars celebration event. It's just a fascinating ride. Keith also worked on the promotional art and packaging for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures that took the country by storm in the late 80s/early 90s. Fast forward to today, and he's moved on from his highly successful illustration career (like many of the artists that I've interviewed have) and is focusing on fine art. We talk about the switch from illustration to fine art and explore the concept of beginning your journey on one very specific path, only to arrive at a completely different destination after decades of hard work and dedication to said path. I think the only way you can do that as an artist is that you have to be able to pivot. Keith? Yeah, he's done that quite successfully if you ask me. Keith Batcheller on Art Dealer Diaries Podcast episode 242.

News: With the higher temperatures on the horizon for Southern California, a new safety policy couldn't come soon enough for cast members. Fully vaccinated cast members can now go mask free outdoors. Masks are still required for all cast members indoors for now. Physical distancing for all cast members, indoors or out has also been phased out. This will greatly help in tight spaces like kitchen areas around the resort. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/fully-vaccinated-disneyland-employees-no-longer-need-to-wear-masks-outdoors/ and https://www.micechat.com/294044-new-disneyland-procedures-start-june-15-masks-off-no-physical-distancing/ With all of the changes recently to all the safety protocols around the resort, MiceChat posted a guide to all the current policies. These include the new cast member guidelines we talked about previously in this episode, as well as theme park reservations sticking around for the foreseeable future, face coverings no longer required anywhere except for transportation like buses for fully vaccinated guests, un-vaccinated or partially vaccinated guests must still wear masks, physical distancing is no longer required, ride capacity is back at 100% without plexiglass shields, dining capacity has also been increased, indoor queues are back in service, both parking structures are open, out of state guests are allowed, no temperature checks are required, and entertainment has started to return. – https://www.micechat.com/294044-new-disneyland-procedures-start-june-15-masks-off-no-physical-distancing/ A sign that things are coming to an end with the pandemic is the return of single rider lines at a few attractions this week. Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Smuggler's Run, Star Tours, and Splash Mountain at Disneyland, and Radiator Springs Racers, the Incredicoaster, and Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure now allow single riders. This should help get as many guests on attractions and out of the lines faster. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/26/disneyland-brings-back-single-rider-lines-for-most-popular-attractions/ Some attractions have reopened earlier than expected in the last week! Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Storybook Land Canal Boats both welcomed guests a day or two early. Storybook Land Canal Boats look great and have had a number of their elements updated during the closure. Buzz Lightyear has not been updated and we have seen reports online that some of the attraction vehicles have been tagged out of service. Hopefully maintenance can get to them soon and get Buzz back to 100%! – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-video-buzz-lightyear-astro-blasters-soft-reopens-at-disneyland/ Some great news for guests who want to walk around and see Avengers Campus! The land is now open to everyone and the gates that were in place to control the amount of people in the new land have been removed. Guests can now freely enter the land from any of the three entrances. This is making the ability to get food and to enter stores very easy, with little to no wait on most days. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ For those of you visiting the parks soon, the crowds look to be great! Even though more people are allowed in the parks now, the wait times for attractions have been lower than they were before the lower capacity! This, along with the cast members getting back into the swing of things has made the process much smoother. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ There have been some rumors that cast members that generally work on parades have been called back to work. This could mean the return of Magic Happens sometime this summer, which only had a couple of weeks to run before the pandemic shut it down. – https://www.micechat.com/295081-disneyland-update-topsy-turvy-more-or-less/ The Disneyland hotel will begin a phased opening this week as the Fantasy Tower opens to guests. Along with the one tower, the two pools and the Monorail water slides will reopen, as well as the fitness center. The Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's will also reopen to the public. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/12971/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_June_30__July_4_2021#news1 Construction has started in the park to prepare for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. The facades of the Toontown Five & Dime and the Gag Factory have been demolished to make way for the new entrance for the attraction. Once completed, the new El Capitoon theater will take their place as the new entrance. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-video-toontown-five-dime-and-gag-factory-facades-demolished-as-mickey-minnies-runaway-railway-construction-continues-at-disneyland/ We previously reported that mobile scan and go shopping was being tested in World of Disney in Downtown Disney. Now, that system has been expanded into the parks at the Emporium in Disneyland, and Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure. Guests will use the Disneyland app or scan a QR code in the store to enter the system, then grab a mobile checkout shopping bag and scan the barcodes with their smartphone cameras to add the item to their cart. Once done, guests check out through the app and show a QR code to a cast member on the way out of the store at a designated mobile checkout exit. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/disneyland-brings-scan-and-go-shopping-to-theme-park-stores/ Hollywood Land is the place for Avengers photo ops. A new Black Panther photo op has appeared this week in the land. It is the same setup used for the previous Black Panther meet and greet, but without the character this time, due to social distancing. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/photos-black-panther-photo-op-arrives-in-hollywood-land-at-disney-california-adventure/ Just a quick follow up to something that we talked about a couple of weeks ago. The food waste trashcans have been rolled out to more locations around the resort recently. If you have any food waste, please dump it in these new recepticals so it can be recycled and not just end up in the landfill. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/06/25/disneyland-makes-tossing-out-leftover-food-a-little-less-wasteful/ and https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/06/disneyland-resort-expands-sustainability-efforts-with-new-food-waste-bins/ On June 27th, which was Global Pride Day, Salt & Straw donated 5% of all its proceeds to local LGBTQ+ charities. For the Downtown Disney location, Reach LA was the charity chosen. Reach LA works with young LGBTQ people of color to “increase self sustainability by encouraging creative expression, supporting safe spaces and promoting health and wellness.” – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/06/26/disneylands-salt-straw-celebrating-global-pride-day-by-donating-to-local-groups/ Another fun treat has made its way to Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff in Pixar Pier. The new Forky cake pop looks like a sweet version of the character himself. The cake pop is sweet vanilla covered in white chocolate, and decorated to look like Forky. Reviews have said that it is pretty moist and very sweet, so be aware of this. Forky costs $5.49. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/06/24/review-toy-story-fans-will-love-disneys-new-sweet-treat/ Donald Duck Commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6VVOmT0Vk8 Discussion Topic: Evan

First and foremost this is one of the wildest interviews I've ever had. Alone at 15 and working to survive James Mulligan is a testament to hard work and perseverance. He has since worked for companies like Disney, was the art director for Playboy, he did design work for Coca Cola, Lexus and Apple, and is friends with people like fuckn Steven Wozniack and Hugh Heghner. He and is an early adopter of Bitcoin and NFTs and the Dude is a fuckin legend point blank period. Shout to artists like Sabet, Dario, and to the man himself James Mulligan for paving the way to helping other artists in the NFT space. James is also donating portions of his art to Children's Hospitals so not only is he a legend of an artist, he's a decent human being at that! Last but not least shoutout to Bogart’s Coffee in Seal beach too. You can find more about James Mulligan here: https://makersplace.com/jamescmulligan/ Welcome back to another week of Living with Will
This week, Mousetalgia talks about the variety of fine art at Disneyland, both on display and for sale. We're joined by special guest Eric Robison, who talks about his history as a Disney artist, including his work as a show designer with Imagineering and his journey to becoming a beloved character artist with works sold through the Disney Gallery. Robison talks about taking inspiration from the Imagineers who came before him, his time meeting fans at the Disney Gallery signings, and his groundbreaking style that turned traditional Disney character art on its head and launched a new market. Plus - remembering Disneyland artist Charles Boyer, and Kristen Carr takes us to a galaxy far, far away.

I was so excited to record this podcast while Noah was on location at Walt Disney World in Florida where he's been commissioned by Disney and has a very special art exhibition! Noah Elias is an artist, author, creative coach and entrepreneur. Based in Orange County, California, Noah is a risktaker from way back, he bravely started selling his art door-to-door on a bike at sixteen years old and now he's an artist for Disney, Universal Pictures, Lucasfilm, to name a few. He designed Suki's vehicle in ‘2 Fast 2 Furious' and he's passionate about leveraging the power of our unique story to change the world. Noah founded his own university, Noah University, as well as an annual workshop called ‘Reimagine' in California, to help creative entrepreneurs see BEYOND the limits of possibility and build their own brand and business. We met in 2015 and he's been a great mentor in my life since then. He's recently created one of the most unique portraits of Walt Disney that has ever been created, ‘Storytellers' which has just been released. His greatest joy is encouraging and helping others build a life of impact and discover why they are on this planet, which is why we get along so well. :) In this podcast Noah shares: What he's currently doing on location at Walt Disney World in Florida and the incredible painting of Walt Disney he just commissioned for Disney, How he took a massive risk and pitched his car design to the director of The Fast and the Furious (he designed Suki's pink car!), How knowing our “WHY” adds depth and power to our story and brand, How to pitch ideas and create opportunity where it doesn't exist, How to bring your family into your business and your dreams, Why living and thinking “as if” completely changes our mindset and therefore our actions, How pain, failure and challenges can open the best doors, How we can change our perspective and view the challenges of life as opportunities, Why risk in life is a non-negotiable, Why fun is a necessity in life and reminds us of who we are, How leveraging the power of our unique STORY can change the world. Here's to the Risktakers!I hope you are inspired by Noah's story. :)Much love, Nat xo Connect with Noah via:Noah Fine Art: noahfineart.comLearn more about Noah's projects hereNoah's WHYNoah's Books: Fearhunters // 31 Disciplines of Highly Creative PeopleNoah University: noahuniversity.comInstagram: @noah.j.elias + @noahfineartTwitter: @noahfineart

Noah Elias is an American artist, known simply as Noah, he works within the fine art community and custom art scene. He is best known for painting the Suki art car in the 2 Fast 2 Furious movie, but he is also a widely collected painter of Disney Fine Art. Noah soon took his art to the streets, painting portraits of celebrities on canvas for huge crowds outside neighborhood coffee shops. This celebrity exposure made Noah an overnight star within the art community. Soon after, corporate clients like Lexus, Levi's Jeans and Toyota were asking Noah to enhance their corporate collections and ad campaigns. In 2004 he garnered international fame for his paint job, or "rolling canvas," on the Suki car in Universal Pictures' hit movie, 2 Fast 2 Furious. He has since won "Best Paint" at S.E.M.A. 4 years in a row for the "rolling canvases" he created on behalf of Alpine Electronics. Now, Noah devotes a substantial amount of his time towards creating Disney Fine Art,[5] a mixture of his unique style and those beloved Disney characters. Due to his success as an artist, he founded Noah University to teach other creatives and artists how to make a career from their work.

“What if someday I can use my gift to draw and to shine for my Creator?” Davy Liu always loved to draw, but he grew up in a home where academics were emphasized over art. It was after his family moved from Taiwan to the United States that Davy was able to pursue art as a career and land a job at The Walt Disney Studios. His job at Disney was fun and exciting, and it paid well. But even while working on classic films like The Lion King, Aladdin and Mulan, Davy felt empty on the inside. Then, Davy realized he could use his gifts to help tell children about Jesus. Davy Liu is our guest on this episode of GPS: God. People. Stories. Featuring music from Micah Tyler, MercyMe and Newsboys, plus, an excerpt from Billy Graham’s message “Youth Commit Thyself”. This week on Disney Magic Hour I found myself treated to meeting Disney Artist, Kevin-John Jobczynski. We met at the Carolwood Pacific Room located in the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in Walt Disney World. After admiring one of the original cars from the Carolwood Pacific Railroad that circled the backyard of Walt Disney's home in Los Angeles, we sat down and spoke at length on a number of different subjects from Disney, horror films, why Fall is the best season ever, and how being a dude who loves Disney has evolved from the stereotype it once was. Ultimately, I met a new friend this week. Kevin is the real deal and one of "us". If you enjoy the conversation half as much as I did, you are in for a treat. Visit Kevin's websites KevinJohnStudio.com and Kevin-John.com and to stay up to date, follow him on Facebook at Facebook.com/kevinjohn.jobczynski.
I use the word "interview" very lightly here because when I sat down with Rob Kaz at the Sanaa Lounge in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, we had a conversation. From Star Wars to video games to how he started working with Disney and everything in between, it was just as if I sat with a new friend and we just started talking. And to me, that's the good stuff. To learn what the person behind the art really is and what the dig. I truly had a great time talking with this immensely talented man and I am very excited to share this conversation we had with you. Rob will be appearing in the Wyland Gallery at the Boardwalk Hotel in WDW on January 1st and I can't recommend enough going and meeting him in person while seeing his art up close. You can also follow Rob on twitter @RobKazArt, on Instagram at RobKazArt, and visit his website RobKazArt.com
We chat it up Disney Artist, Kevin-John Jobczynski and quickly learn that there's much more to him than meets the eye! Finally, we put Kevin-John to the test in our Piston Cup Challenge. How did he do? You'll have to listen in and find out on today's episode of The Mickey Dudes Podcast!
