Kevin Conroy op 66-jarige leeftijd overleden We trappen het nieuws natuurlijk af met het overlijden van Kevin Conroy op 66-jarige leeftijd. De stemacteur verloor afgelopen donderdag na een korte strijd met kanker het leven. Conroy is volgens velen de beste Batman ooit. Zo was hij onder andere te horen in de bejubelde Animated Series uit 1992 en natuurlijk ook de Arkham games. Conroy stond dan ook vaak tegenover zijn medespeler Mark Hamill, met wie hij een nauwe band deelde. De twee werkten voor het laatst nog samen aan He-Man: Masters of the Universe. Studio Ghibli X Star Wars samenwerking komt eraan Star Wars Visions was één van de tofste projecten die we onder leiding van Disney hebben gezien. Het kon dan ook niet lang uitblijven dat er een sequel zou komen. Die was dan ook al redelijk snel bevestigd, maar vandaag hebben we de spreekwoordelijke kers op de taart. Maurice kwam op internet een advertentie tegen van een bedrijf dat uitvaarten aanbiedt in Disney-stijl. Net zoals dat je een magische bruiloft bij Disney kan kopen, regelt dit bedrijf een magisch afscheid. Zo kan je een Disney-figuur inhuren voor bij de ceremonie. De website bleek een grap, maar Thomas en Maurice kraken toch een harde noot. De Efteling was weer in het nieuws. Het park interviewde de eigen directeur en daarin deed hij uit de doeken dat het bedrijf een verlies van 17 miljoen euro verwacht over 2020. Wat betekent dat voor de toekomst van het park? Ook staat Thomas nog uitgebreid stil bij een brief die is verzonden aan de gemeenteraad van Loon op Zand. Verder veel Disney-nieuws: meer beelden van Snow White's Enchanted Wish in Disneyland Anaheim, enorme pontons in het Epcot-meer en de toekomst van president Trump in het Magic Kingdom. Jeremy is joined once again by Chris Arnsby to mull over 2013's surreal blackly comic horror Escape from Tomorrow, a film largely shot in secret in Walt Disney World and Disneyland Anaheim. As they dive down a rabbit hole on the log flume from hell, they consider their own theme park experiences, the Streisand effect, overlaps between the present and what seems to be ancient history and the trope of theme parks going wrong, while also goading Christopher Nolan further.

This weeks guest is Sue Romano. Sue is a Wedding consultant, in hospitality/entertainment industry for 30 years, and making magic at Disney for 25yrs, although they have had two seasons of Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding show she is very modest saying she is only in the background for the Disneyland/Anaheim shows. She may only be in the background but she is very much catalyst for making those Princess wedding dreams come true…I know because I have seen it first hand! And, I’ll explain how later in our episode!  But, as you may have figured, her amazing Disney career is not what has her on the show today.  Although if I had a second podcast I probably would want to talk all about amazing theme wedding and parties and talk to people like Sue about how to make these elaborate fantasies a reality…but that is another show.     Sue’s interest in the paranormal began in childhood after watching a certain movie, she new she had something special. She became interested in the world of the Wicca, magic, rituals, witchcraft and spells.  She has dabbled in numerology, Tarot Cards and Karma Cards. Her special gift is Precognition. Today, we fondly remember our favorite rides at the Disneyland (Anaheim, CA) resort which includes both Disneyland AND California Adventure. I say "fondly" becase it has been so long since anyone has been able to get into either park due to COVID 19. And no one really knows how long it will be before they open up again.We have a full "cast" of characters on this episode, bringing back Delainey Ashbrook, along with her sister Madison Ashbrook (and current Disney Company employee) in for the discussion, and of course your hosts Larry Lloyd and RJ Carnesi (former Disneyland employee). We actually recorded this episode quite a long time ago but held off on releasing it because it seemed irrelevant in our Quarntine life. But, oddly, it's more relevant than ever since we are all starting to miss so many things about "normal life". If you've never been to the Disneyland Resort ("DLR" as Madison likes to refer to it), you should listen to this to help plan your visit!
