Jamie is joined by Aaron Thorpe (@afrocosmist) of The Trillbilly Worker's Party podcast to discuss the latest season of Black Mirror, from the dark, Luigi-coded first episode to the lighthearted, “Star Trek”-inspired closer. TODAY: Aaron Thorpe of the Trillbillies joins us to talk sci-fi art, alleged acts of anti-Tesla terrorism, and Minion Death Cult being cancelled for liberalism (supporting unions) We start off with a brief review of Mickey 17 and our mutual childhood love of art and how our nostalgia is Good vs the fascistic nostalgia going around right now THEN: We explore the curious nature of a failing, overpriced car brand with thousands of unsold vehicles with manufacturing defects being suddenly "attacked" by anti-Elon protestors and whether anyone might stand to benefit from these liabilities being written-off as insurance claims. FINALLY: We address the accusations of "liberal bullshit ideology" directed at us via an anti-capitalist facebook page after an old MDC post about organizing your workplace goes viral. About a month ago my wife asked me if we had ever considered doing a an episode about lottery guys and I looked at my big list and they weren't there. I loved the idea so much that we did it. When people asked for a Star Trek Guys episode we said that we would "make it so" So we had Will Menaker from Chapo Trap House and Aaron Thorpe from The Trillbillies Workers Party on so that me and Chris (cool jocks) didn't outnumber the guests. We looked into r/startrek to see what the biggest fans are talking about. What kinda shoes should the people on the startship wear? Who would win between Star Wars and Star Trek? Why is star trek going broke? Tom, Tarence and (welcome to the show!) Aaron from the Trillbillies join us for another week of horror and spectacle around the War in Gaza. We touch on the ceasefire agreement being rejected basically as we were recording, some of the clumsy NYPD PR response to last week's Columbia raid, and the pundit class tantrum over being denied free access to interviews with protesting students. But we also have some levity, in John Fetterman's freakout over vat meat, the Biden admin's flaccid signaling over marijuana legalization, and Patrick Bet-David's praise for future God-Emperor Barron. The son of Jamaican immigrants growing up in NYC was pretty apolitical until he began sneering at the denizens of Zuccotti Park during Occupy as a high minded employee of the DNC (!!), believe it or not. He picked up his sister's copy of The Communist Manifesto shortly after, and...well...you know the rest
Samuel analyses two podcasts, The Trillbilly Worker's Party and Canadaland, both of which released episodes on the investigation into the origins of SARS-CoV-2 over the last 7 days (you won't be able to hear the Trillbillies unless you subscribe to their Patreon). Spoiler Alert: neither of these podcasts does a very good job -- the topic requires a little more than casual dedication. For a deep dive into the research into the origins of Covid-19 there's no better source than D.R.A.S.T.I.C. One of the earliest deep analysis into the SARS-CoV-2 genome was done by Yuri Deigin And here's a good article concerning the DARPA project Samuel talks about when he gets into the Canadaland episode Music for this episode is "Tejygo" by Mello C, used thanks to a Creative Commons license.

Today I speak with two of the Trillbillies, specifically Tom Sexton and Tarence Ray. We discuss many aspects of esoteric Kentucky, like the word itself and the other name settlers picked out for the land, as well as the Indian mounds. Then we discuss the economics of Ashland Kentucky which might explain some of the high strangeness that's occurred there, from massacres to mafia coal companies to Charlie Manson. Then we discuss the history of Kentucky and LSD, like with Captain Hubbard and Augustus Owsley Stanley III, two of the main LSD gurus and both native sons. Then, we discuss the history of LSD and MKULTRA experiments in Kentucky, which leads us to discuss the Kentucky blue bloods and high society in Lexington. From there, we get into the Bluegrass Conspiracy, with former Lexington PD narcotics task force officer Andrew Thornton III falling to his death strapped with 40 kilos of cocaine. This ties into Lexington high society, but also international crime, the CIA, Adnan Khashoggi, and Thornton's paramilitary terrorist training camp in Kentucky. To wrap it up, we talk about Kentucky's first UFO incident.
