"Tears of the Kingdom is just Breath of the Wild 1.5" is a take I've seen a lot over the past few weeks. Today, with my guest Hyrule Gamer, we'll be taking a deep dive look into some of the best reasons that Tears of the Kingdom isn't just Breath of the Wild DLC or a half-baked sequel to it, and we discuss why this game WON'T be disappointing for so many different reasons, from returning dungeons, the overworld feeling lacklustre (or does it), the story being way better and a hugely different tone, we talk about it all today, in why The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, won't feel like Breath of the Wild 1.5, and the nature of opinions!

Februarys PlayStation Plus games are in coming! here what we think of that. MicroSoft want to buy EA? Come again? That can't be real can it? Can it? The full crew is here this week and begin the show by feeling old for the first time, with all these kids walking ‘round the mall talking that Five Nights at Freddy’s mess. Collin slashes into the Breath of the Wild DLC while Robert mashes the fireball button in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Jac gets into the smart home game and we go over the week in glorious gaming news. Commit sudoku and stick a tiny disc in those tiny ear holes.
150: Issues With Games In Early Access Gary's back this week and he's alive. And boy does he have a lot to talk about. He opens, and with Mario Odyssey. He likes the hybrid ability of the Switch. Then again, who doesn't? He then follows that up with Dusk, which was early access. Followed by Fortnite, and finally his Game of the Year, Genital Jousting. It has a better story than most games. Really, a game for the ages. Anthony's got Diablo III for the console. The lack of RAM really got to him. Lastly, Brian beat the Breath of the Wild DLC. Not too thrilled with getting the motorcycle at the end (spoiler). However, Assassins Creed: Origins... that's a whole other can of worms. In de laatste aflevering van 2017 praten Daan, Nathan en Bas weer hun mond voorbij. Zo worden de Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC, laatste ARMS update en de recente Nintendo eShop releases besproken!
146: Brawlout And Wolfenstein DLC Two is the loneliest number, and on this Christmas Day episode with the four of us there, only two had games to talk about. Talk about your Christmas Grinches. That's alright, I'm sure Santa will bring plenty of great games this year for the gang. That is, unless he brings coal. Gary leads us off and he talks Battlefront II, the newest one. He beat it and it's basically nothing special. That's being kind. He mentions "the newest one" because he also played Battlefront II from 2005. The memories are solid and the campaign is awesome. Yet, what is even more awesome is Shadows of the Empire. A classic Star Wars game in a time when we get neither good games or movies. Plus, Dash Rendar is a badass and gets a jetpack. Gary then briefly mentions Wolfenstein DLC and Little Nightmares, but is really waiting to talk about Immortal Rednecks. I don't want to spoil anything. Just go listen. Then Brian, with Hoppenhelm, a endless runner of sorts. Basically, a Brian Shitter Game™. He also played Brawlout. Not to be confused with Brawlhalla, which is also a Super Smash Bros.-like game. However, Brian does not like it. Lastly, more Breath of the Wild DLC. Brian is really enjoying himself and finding new things. What more could you ask for? We thought it was going to be a light news week with the holiday and all, but that doesn't seem to be the case. We've got plenty to talk about, so buckle up for Atari delays, Dragon Quest Builders, Cuphead goes double platinum, and more. And guys get in those questions for our last episode of 2017. We're going to talk about our games of the year and would love to hear yours. So let us know! The Joy of Gaming Podcast, Episode 68: Assassin's Creed Origins, Sonic Forces, Super Mario Odyssey and 2017 VGAs On this episode of The Joy of Gaming Podcast, we (Rich and Jordan) dive headlong into some of this Fall's biggest gaming releases. Rich has been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed Origins, and weighs in on whether or not taking a year off has allowed Ubisoft to reinvent the series in meaningful ways. He's also been playing Nintendo's big holiday release - Super Mario Odyssey - and has some thoughts on whether it lives up to the heaps of critical praise. For Jordan, middling reviews are no match for the "forces" of nostalgia and franchise loyalty when it comes to Sonic Forces, and he'll weigh in on whether there's enough Sonic magic on board to battle against some less than ideal design decisions. But first, we take a look at the biggest trailers, announcements, and category winners from the 2017 Video Game Awards, and offer our thoughts on the biggest reveals, including Death Stranding's newest trailer, Soul Calibur 6, Bayonetta 3 for Switch, Breath of the Wild DLC 2 - The Champion's Ballad and Link's new endgame Master Cycle Zero, and more. We also discuss some of the other games we've been playing recently, including Pokémon Ultra Sun, Destiny 2's Curse of Osiris DLC, Wolfenstein 2, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, Horizon Zero Dawn and more. So join us, for the second-most game-filled episode of the year! GOTY is up next, after all. This...is the Joy of Gaming!
Patrick and Mark discuss the final piece of Breath of the Wild DLC, The Champions’ Ballad. A boss new weapon, new shrines, a new challenging enemy, and a brand new set of wheels — the Game of the Year just got Game of the Year-ier.
For this episode of Bits, we go over a lot of the new announcements made at the Video Game Awards including Bayonetta 3, Soul Caliber 6, World War Z and some new Breath of the Wild DLC. Then in news we have the highly anticipated Ni No Kuni 2 and Far Cry 5 suffering delays and Stardew Valley is making its way to the PS Vita of all places. Finally in what we've been playing Madcap continues his work in the new Pokemon while I give my final thoughts on Doki Doki Literature Club as well as the latest Resident Evil 7 DLC - Not a Hero. All that and much more await within!

This week on the Zelda Informer Podcast, Alfred makes a triumphant return to his co-hosting duties as our resident comic artist, Trey, and super fan Mason make appearances to discuss some unexpected NX leaks. With the NX leaks taking up a majority of the first half of the podcast, I wanted to reminded everyone of a rather amazing (and sad) story a fan shared with us and allowed us to share with all of you about how Nintendo is keeping a lost brother with someone special while playing Breath of the Wild. Speaking of Breath of the Wild, we only cover two fan topics this week, but that's because the topics sparked some great conversations around heart containers and potential DLC in the game. We round out the podcast in our typical fashion, as we briefly go over some of our favorite things from this past week, including some positive vibes from Pokemon GO, some good ol' Overwatch fun, and Alfred goes on to express his deep love for the Darksiders theory. Oh, we also have a somewhat exclusive nugget towards the end about a yet to be announced game. You'll have to listen to find out what that is! As always, you can send your fan topics, theme song submissions, or any other questions about the podcast to podcast@zeldainformer.com.
