Heartbreak, Depression, Anxiety. Peer Pressure, Denial, Feeling Unwanted....These are just some of the things we can be faced with. Many can lead us on a journey toward bad habits and void fillers that are absolutely wrong, no matter how good it may feel. Break the habits and the cycles, before they break you.
The Pacific Mother Film is a magnificent birth documentary released in 2023. It follows the birthing experiences of mothers in Japan, Hawai'i, Tahiti, the Cook Islands and Aotearoa. It was largely inspired by the question "“Why do mothers have to fight so hard for what feels so right?” by Sachiko Fukumoto. You can read more about the film on their website: https://www.pacificmotherfilm.com and their instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/p/C3Je7oRvAsR/?img_index=1We also reviewed a significant development in our Hawai'i birth politics landscape. The Hawai'i attorney general has answered questions and clarified issues regarding midwifery regulations. Spoiler alert- this means major implications for non immediate family, friends and unlicensed providers (grandmas, doulas, birth attendants) giving any childbearing advice. Most of us know that dopamine is called the seeking hormone, the feel-good hormone but did you know that dopamine can also be called the predictive hormone? You see, dopamine is released, when the world meets our expectations or exceeds them. This is why in scenarios even if there's a negative outcome, meaning an outcome that we didn't really want, we still get a splash of dopamine. This is when you're like, ”I figured that would happen or see, I told you so, I knew this was how the world was.” The dopamine is released because you got what you expected. It reinforces that the world is as you predicted it to be and there's safety in that you know exactly how the world works. This predictive side of the dopamine hormone is exactly why we often rejoice in things we shouldn't because it feels so right. The problem is that it supports a story that keeps us at our current level. There is another story that we can receive dopamine from too. It's the one where you create a different experience, uplevel your life, and do epic sh*t. Listen in to learn how. Selena Gomez sang, “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” and Elvis Presley gave us, “It Feels so Right. How can it be wrong?” And yet in the Bible, God repeatedly warns that certain love relationships are out of bounds. One of those is between Christians and non-Christians. This message looks at Solomon's dating habits and why God cares enough to interfere in our love lives.

Show Notes and Links: https://ukuleleunderground.com/2021/05/wrong-notes-but-it-feels-so-right-tuup16/ How do you play the "Wrong" Note, but still make it feel right? Before that, UU discusses if a Low G String on your uke can cause damage, and why Low G Strings might break repeatedly. This leads to a look back at uke players using classical guitar strings, and the hype around new string sets. When a member asks what scales to play during a blues improv, Aldrine demonstrates starting simple with pentatonic scales, then he shows how you can go to another level by playing the "Wrong" Notes intentionally. Another member asks how to keep your fingers closer to the fretboard? Aldrine shows exercises to practice this, and the guys talk about removing barriers that would keep you from playing (even going as far as keeping a "Bathroom Uke"). The podcast ends with mentions of future guest, and upcoming events.
Underground Music, Hip-Hop/Rap/MCing, Breakcore, EDM and Metal Disc Jockey with either a much greater emphasis on linguistic inventiveness than mainstream forms or a greater emphasis on the use of extreme profanity and disturbing criminal themes. Starring: Scorpion Frequency, Electric Breathing, Brom:35, NoizeFloor, Dead Beat Project, The Rappists, DJ 2def, Mr.Stabby, Mr. Morder, Jay Omerta, King Keemo, Mr.Siso, The Harmony Society, Kinky Bitch, Dynamic, Frankz Wit A Z, Mista Mead, H3vy Stu, Vicious 5150, RcThaHazard, J-ClaWsin, Lilo Frank, EffeSei, Christyle, DisaJohnny, Scar, Onnis, Marco Tosh, Labo & Yu-Sei. The difference between a pop/top-40/requests DJ and an underground DJ is not that one plays better music than the other or that one is a sellout, or that one is a “musical masturbator”. The difference is in the crowd that they are intended for: searchers vs. discoverers. The “underground” “club” DJ is the kind that wants to educate his crowd… yet another term I’ll use with hesitation. He wants to find a correlation between what he likes and what his crowd responds to, by way of introducing them to music they may not have otherwise heard. He wants to teach and encourage them to find something they didn’t know they needed. Whether it’s the thrashing riffs or either the sampling or the EDM-esque chorus in motion, there is not a second that doesn’t have a catchy sample and jingle part going on. The music is not without its flaws though, some songs are clearly better than others, Not that there is a bad song here. He puts absolutely everything new or remind the listener of past sounds but everything it does, it does well and even great at times. this might as well be the perfect soundtrack for all kind of music. If you're suspicious of this claim, then hijack the jukebox at your local bar or kindly offer to be the DJ at a Halloween party and getting rid of any stylistic barriers to integrated music. The outstanding drums, variety and overall harshness and brevity combining most of the harshest elements of metal with electronic genres, these record creates some outrageously chaotic freak outs from each of its eclectic formula.

Also, Trump is a double-edged sword like no other in the history of American politics - should he stay as head of the party and run again for President in 2024, or should he go?
