And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. (Acts 3:16, KJV). Today, I want to encourage you to use the name of Jesus to overcome the enemy and to see miracles. Jesus has given you His name as a weapon to bring victory in your life and ministry. When you use His name, you are invoking all that Jesus is, all that He has done, and all that He can do. When you speak the name, it releases the power of all of His redemptive work of forgiveness, healing, and victory over the devil. It's not enough to know the name of Jesus, you must use that name in faith. Miracles happen through "His name through faith in His name." You can activate miracles now by using the name of Jesus! Audio Notes: USE THE NAME OF JESUS READING: Acts 3:1-8 Main Thought: Use the name of Jesus to overcome the devil and all of his plans and operations. “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.” (Acts 3:6-7, KJV) Use the Name of Jesus to Preach the Gospel And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. (Mark 16:15-18, KJV). The Name of Jesus is the Name Above Every Name “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11, KJV) Use the Name of Jesus to Do His Works “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:12-14, NKJV). Use the Name of Jesus by Faith “And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.” (Acts 3:16, KJV) And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. (Acts 19:14-16, KJV). CONCLUSION: Use the name of Jesus to win the lost, heal the sick, and cast out devils. Use the name of Jesus to move Satan out of your path. You have a job to do, and you have been given the equipment to get it done! More Videos>>> BSOM211: Boldness to Use the Name of Jesus [Audio]
What is God saying about 2025? In this message, Susan and I share some of the thoughts that the Holy Spirit has been bringing to us for this new year. We have an excitement about 2025, the year of our Lord. For one, 2025 is a new beginning! We believe God is telling us to leave the past behind and press into the future God has planned for us. In Isaiah, God says: “Do not remember the former things, Or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19, Amp15). Maybe you've been beaten up, hurt, and waylaid by the circumstances of life. Perhaps someone has done you wrong, and it's taken all the wind out of your sails. Maybe you're exasperated by your failures and weaknesses. If you've had failures in the past, repent, and get moving forward in 2025. Don't wallow in defeat. It's time to get up and get moving in the power of God. It's a new year! It's a new day! Paul saw this too. He says: Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14, NKJV). The other thing we are hearing from the Lord for our lives and ministry in 2025 is “expansion.” As Isaiah says: “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited. (Isaiah 54:1-3, NKJV). Maybe you've not seen much fruit in the past. Maybe your natural outlook is bleak. It's time to remember that you are joined to the Lord. Plan to expand. Plan to reach more people. Plan to expand your territory. It's also time to strengthen your stakes. That is, strengthen your foundations. Be strong in Bible reading, prayer, and meditation. Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Also, strengthen your relationships. And don't give up on your relationship too easily. The way of the world now is to cancel relationships. If there are difficulties, just get that person out of your life, the world system says. But God says, be faithful. Love people! Be a blessing, and keep your relationships strong. Susan and I are praying for you that you will have a wonderfully blessed prosperous 2025 and that what God does in your life will overflow to bless the world. Thank you for being you, and following the will of the Lord in 2025, the year of our Lord! Audio Related Posts Everyone is Eligible for a New Beginning Good News for Everyone!
Audio Podcast: Activating the Holy Spirit in Your Ministry Every Christian has the Holy Spirit, but too often the Holy Spirit is dormant in their lives. This message explains the ministry of the Holy Spirit and gives the keys to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit in your life and ministry. God never called anyone to do His work without His power, and you can have the power of the Holy Spirit operating in your life! This message, which was delivered at New Life Fellowship in Tolna, North Dakota is like a fireside chat about the work of the Holy Spirit. There are many illustrations, stories, and testimonies set upon a biblical framework in a very relaxed, informal, intimate and transparent way. This message comes from many years of walking with the Holy Spirit in life and ministry. This lesson focuses on how to activate the Holy Spirit in your ministry, especially through praying on other tongues. Many people are confused about speaking in other tongues. This message defines the different biblical ways that tongues are used and emphasizes the value to praying in tongues for personal edification. I believe that this lesson will help you to gain a greater sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. There are some nuggets of truth in this lesson that will help you to cooperate with the Holy Spirit and to see a greater release of His comfort, power, and guidance in your life and ministry. This lesson is a part of our Online Believer's School of Ministry>>> Notes: ACTIVATING THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR YOUR MINISTRY But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. (2Corinthians 4:7, NKJV). The purpose of this lesson is to impress upon the believer the need to rely on the Holy Spirit for ministry, and to teach how to activate the Holy Spirit in a greater way in your life. This is a more advanced lesson. Recommend “BSOM105: Receiving Power to Change the World” for basic training on the power of the Holy Spirit. THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS US IN LIFE! “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — (John 14:16, NKJV). Another—one of the same kind; like Jesus, He, the Holy Spirit, conveys heaven's blessings from the Father and the Son. See John 14:12-30 Seven-fold Helper… And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor — Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever — (John 14:16, Amp15). The Holy Spirit is absolutely essential to live the victorious Christian life. “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (John 15:4-5, NKJV). But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. (1Corinthians 6:17, NKJV). The Holy Spirit helps us to live in victory so we can help others. Stengthened with might. Filled with the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:14-21, John 1:16 The also helps us to walk in love and the fruit of the spirit so we can BE a witness. Galatians 5:16-26, Acts 1:8, Rom 5:5 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. (Hebrews 12:12-13, NKJV). Tom's story. Don't be condemned, but use the tools. THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPS US IN MINISTRY God never intended for you to do work without His power. Mt 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 4:23-31. The purpose of the power—to reach people. Some charismatics and pentecostals are like a tea pot. They're always blowing off steam but not getting much done. We need to be a like a steam locomotive. Using the power to get moving for God. Holy Spirit is the power behind the expansion of the church in the book of Acts. (Acts 2, 3, 4, etc.
We put so much thought and effort into this present life, but the truth is, we are only here for a few moments. Once our bodies are worn out, we will leave this earth and either be with the Lord in heaven or we will spend eternity separated from him. The Scripture says, “For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” (James 4:13-14, NKJV). No matter how great your health is… No matter how prosperous you are… No matter how many accolades you receive or how many awards… One day your physical body will fail and you will meet the Lord. Our time on this earth is just a wisp of time, but eternity is forever and ever. This message is full of biblical truth and testimonies of people who have experienced the joy of salvation once they decided to follow Jesus. But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (2Corinthians 4:3-4, NKJV). And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever. America needs a new heart! We can get new leaders. We can see laws changed. But the real need is for a change of heart—and only God can do that. The Holy Spirit spoke through the prophet Ezekiel: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:26-27, NKJV). "Pray for the Heart of America" looks at the need to focus our prayers, not just on the upcoming election, but also on the need to pray for souls. I hope you will take a few minutes to watch or listen to the message and consider what it means in your life. God bless you! Tom and Susan at a pastors conference in India 2015. In August, I shared a message by Skype with a church in Secunderabad, India based on the story of the church at Ephesus from Acts 19:1-20 called “Finding the Purpose for Your Church.” I thought you might enjoy the audio from the meeting with translation into Telugu, one of the 122 major languages of India. I was preaching here at 12:30 a.m. and it was 11 p.m. there. Every local church has its own personality and unique purpose in the mind of God. The key to finding the purpose of your church is following the leadership of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has the best strategies and will always make us a success if we follow His directions. We see this in the book of Acts as the various churches walked into their destiny. The church at Jerusalem, for example, had the Pentecostal fire which ignited the work of God through evangelistic preaching and signs and wonders. The church at Antioch, which was made up of people from various ethnic groups, became a missionary sending center, which launched the world-changing ministry of the Apostle Paul, who planted many churches and wrote much of the New Testament. On the other hand, the church at Ephesus began when Paul baptized a dozen disciples and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. This amazing church became an apostolic training center (a Bible School) where Paul taught the Word daily. As a result of His ministry in that one city, "all who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks." (Acts 19:10) Think of it! As a result of the teaching ministry of one man, enough believers and ministers were ignited and released to reach the entire region of Asia Minor (roughly the area that is now Turkey) Asia Minor was about 750,000 sq. kilometers which was home to between 8-15 million people. Apparently, this all took place without Paul traveling to hold crusades or plant other churches. It was simply the fruit of his ministry being multiplied through teaching the Word along with a unique sign-gifted ministry of anointed handkerchiefs and aprons which were taken from his body and effected cures of diseases and demonic torment. Here are four principles that I shared for "Finding the Purpose of Your Church." Build on a Solid Foundation (verses 1-7) Remember Your Mission (verse 8) Let Your Obstacles Become Stepping Stones (verses 9-10) Expect Miracles (verses 11-19) As a result we are told, "So the word of the Lord powerfully grew and spread." (Acts 19:20, MEV). May God develop your church into a powerhouse for Him as you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus came to reveal the Father and make a way for us to come to Him. As He was preparing His disciples for the time of His departure, He said: On that day you will ask Me nothing. Truly, truly I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full . . . On that day you will ask in My name. I am not saying to you that I shall ask the Father on your behalf. For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came from God. (John 16:23-24, 26-27, MEV). The Father Himself loves you! The Greek word there means an affectionate love, or to kiss. Think of it. The God that created the universe, the God that dwells in the high and holy place loves you with an affectionate love. Jesus died to make the way for you to come to the Father, not just when you die, but now. In fact, Jesus said that eternal life is knowing God the Father and the Son. So I want to encourage you. You CAN come to God, in Jesus' name. You can know Him. You can experience His love in this life. Come to the Father! Enjoy this 8-minute message! Do you ever feel like you are not quite good enough for God? That your life does not quite messure up? If so, this message is for you because your acceptance is not dependent on your performance. It is based on what Jesus did for you on the cross. The Scripture says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1John 1:7, KJV). Did you notice that He said ALL sin. Not some sin. Not even 99.9 percent of all sin, but ALL sin. That tells me that through the blood of Jesus I am totally cleansed and made righteous. Listen to this message today! It will bless your life! Podcast Notes: TOTALLY CLEANSED OF SIN But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1John 1:7-9, KJV). “Precious is the blood of the lamb, which was shed for you.” MT: Jesus is the lamb is without spot, who cleanses us from ALL sin. Illustration: Cleansing agents. How effective is the blood. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. (John 1:29, KJV). We need to agree with God. He takes away our sin. 1 What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Refrain: O precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18, KJV). In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1:7, KJV). For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10, KJV). A PERFECT SACRIFICE Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1Peter 1:18-19, KJV). OT sacrifices were to be spotless. Perfect. Picture of Christ. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2Corinthians 5:21, KJV). WALKING IN THE LIGHT For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 3:16-21, KJV). CLEANSE YOUR CONSCIENCE For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ,
Who are you following? And, the second question, where are you going? Because you are going wherever the person you are following is going. We are living in a time when millions of people are following celebrities on social media. There are those who have a great influence on others through their Instagram, TikTok, FaceBook, Twitter (X), or YouTube accounts. It's a good time to ask: who are you following? Who has the greatest influence on your life? Is is a popular singer, actor, or politician? Is it a fellow student or worker or someone in your family? Are you making your own decisions, or are you a puppet to other people's opinions? Jesus says: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:27-28, KJV). When we follow Jesus, we receive eternal life, but when we follow the spirit of this age, we reap death. Jesus has a wonderful plan for your life. Follow Him and reap all that He has for you! Listen to the Podcast Notes: WHO ARE YOU FOLLOWING? Christianio Ronaldo 738 M Justin Bieber 502 M Taylor Swift 461 M To be a follower you just have to push a button. It's not a huge commitment. However, many “followers” are following very closely. That's why these people are called “influencers” and are in high demand by commercial interests. For some, their posts are worth millions of dollars, because people will follow their recommendations. Who are you following? Politician, Intellectual, Actor, Kids a school, people at work, strong personality. Music superstar (politicians were afraid that Taylor Swift would endorse a candidate, because they knew her recommendation would carry a lot of weight. Can you think for yourself, or are you a puppet to other's opinions? Whoever you are following, you are going where they are going. Or maybe you're following the spirit of this age. And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient [the unbelieving, who fight against the purposes of God]. Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God's] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. (Ephesians 2:1-3, Amp15). Vision of people in graveyard going into the abyss. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14, KJV). There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 16:25, KJV). Jesus, the Good Shepherd, came to lead us into life. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. (John 10:10-11, KJV). My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:27-28, KJV). What does it mean to follow Jesus? Is it just to push a button? Is it to join a church or go through a ceremony? Is it to sign a card? Tom's experience. Nothing changed until I made Jesus Lord. To follow Jesus is to make Him Lord of your life.

What do you need from the Lord? Maybe you have a physical issue that the doctors can't fix. Or a financial quagmire with no solution. Or a child gone astray. Perhaps it's a need that consumes your days with worry. A woman in the Bible had a problem as well—an issue of blood draining the very life out of her body for 12 long years. Draining her finances, too, as she looked in every corner for an answer. She was a social outcast, too, because her condition required that she go about crying, "Unclean! Unclean!" everywhere she went. But then she heard about Jesus, how He made the lame to walk and the blind to see. Hope was born in her. She said, "I'm going to get something from the Lord! Today is my day! If I can just touch His garment, I will be made whole." Her whole being went out in pursuit of Him. She went after the mighty power that was in His life. Stretching. Reaching. Yearning. Pressing. She pushed her way through the crowd and touched Him, and it happened! Power went out of Him! He felt it. She know she was healed. She hid in fear. He asked, "Who touched Me?" He showed mercy and sent her away HEALED! That same power is available to you today! Jesus went back to heaven, and sent that power back to His Church. That same miracle-working power, that same anointing is here today. We, too, must press through the crowd … the doubt and unbelief, past everyone who says that healing is not for today … and get ahold of the garment of Jesus. Latch hold and don't let go, until the power flows into you! The price has been paid on Calvary. The way is made. it's time to receive what God has for you through the power of the Holy Spirit. Audio Notes: WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM THE LORD? Mark 5:25-34 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” (Mark 5:30, NKJV). She kept saying. “I'm going to get what I need from the Lord!!!” “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:23, NKJV). She pursued the anointing. Came the press behind. She would not be detered. She opened her spirit to recieve from the Lord. “Your faith has made you whole.” Substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. Heb. 11:1 She heard it. She saw it. She said it. She did it! Action. He felt the anointing. The tangible substance of the Lord. Who toched me? Everybodiy's touching ylou Jesus! Somebody touched me with the touch of faith. Woman in Winnepeg applies this scripture and begiins to pull upon the Lord. She was healed of cancer, HIS POWER IS AVAILABLE TO YOU TODAY! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8, NKJV). “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. (John 7:38-39, NKJV). Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8, NKJV). Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalms 34:8, NKJV). Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalms 37:3-4, NKJV). How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. Today, we are looking at Using Wisdom in Your Speech. Words are powerful! They can be used for good or evil. Sometimes, without realizing it, we are serving the devil by the things that we say. In this video, we look at using godly wisdom in the things that we say in order to produce peace and healing. This is a vital message for all Christians, especially if we want to live a long healthy life. Good speech doesn't come automatically. We need to guard our heart, renew our mind, and as God to put a guard on our mouth. Notes: Using Wisdom in Your Speech MT: The tongue is an expression of the condition of the heart, and can be used for good or evil. Make a decision to use your tongue to make peace and bring healing. 1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. (James 3:1-2, KJV). THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TONGUE 18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. (Proverbs 12:18, KJV). 11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. 12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. (Proverbs 10:11-12, KJV). -Older man with supernaturally good health would not say anything bad about anyone, For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: (1Peter 3:10, KJV). MURDER IN YOUR HEART But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. (Matthew 5:22, AV). -Hitler… wisdom from beneath… supernatural power based on hate. Moved people. 6 million Jews. People went along with it. We need a discerning heart. GODLY VS. NATURAL WISDOM Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. (James 3:13-18, KJV). Earthly, sensual (natural, soulish, animal like) demonic. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (1Corinthians 3:3, KJV). O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (Matthew 12:34, KJV). Rom 12:1,2 Be transformed by the renewing of your mind WE ARE CALLED TO BE PEACEMAKERS Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. (Matthew 5:9, AV). A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:34-35, AV). For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14, AV). He that wins souls is wise. CONCLUSION: Make a decision to follow Jesus. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12, KJV). MT: When you receive Jesus, you receive the wisdom of God, which comes by the Holy Spirit. One of the ways He redeems your life from destruction is through wisdom. Benefits of Wisdom: Avoid mistakes and their consequences, understanding of truth and how to apply it (finances, relationships, physical, mental, and emotional health), how-to anything, guidance). But I fear that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve through his trickery, so your minds might be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2Corinthians 11:2-3, MEV). Many times we think that God is not answering our prayers. But could it be that we are not allowing Him to answer the way that He wants to answer them? We think we need one thing, but God knows we need something else in order to receive what we are asking for. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave Him an understanding heart. But the Lord was so happy with His prayer that He also gave Him riches and honor. Many great blessings will come into our lives as we ask God for wisdom to know and do His will. In this message, I talk about how to unlock answers to prayer by receiving the wisdom and guidance that we need. Through Jesus Christ, we have access to all the riches of heaven, including wisdom. Enjoy this message today and be encouraged! Notes: PRAYERS THAT GOD ANSWERS Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, “behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. “And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. (1Kings 3:11-13, NKJV) MT When you ask God for wisdom, He will give it to you. THE KEY IS TO ASK If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:5-6, NKJV). ACCORDING TO HIS WILL You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. (James 4:3, NKJV). Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1John 5:14-15, NKJV). -When you ask according to His will, He will give you more than you ask for … -His Word is His will. WAIT FOR HIS COUNSEL They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul. (Psalms 106:13-15, NKJV). Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3John 1:2, AV). Tom's testimony in Haiti. OTHER EXAMPLES: Health, relationships, business, on and on. PAUL PRAYED FOR WISDOM FOR CHRISTIANS that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, (Ephesians 1:17, NKJV). JESUS HAS BECOME OUR WISDOM But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God — and righteousness and sanctification and redemption — that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.” (1Corinthians 1:30-31, NKJV). If Jesus is in you, wisdom is in you. Determine to walk in the spirit and revelation of the wisdom of God. RECEIVE JESUS. RECEIVE WISDOM But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12, NKJV). “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. I was a born again, Spirit filled, faith-believing, on-fire Christian. I tithed and gave offerings. I had been pastor of two churches, traveled on the missions field, and I had a genuine experience with God. Yet at the same time, I was in debt up above my eyebrows. All because of lack of wisdom. The Bible says that the borrower is a slave to the lender. Even though I was doing certain things, right, my use of credit was keeping me bound and defeated. On this video, I share how God got me out of debt over a period of years. There were many blessings and miracles along the way that helped to bring me out of debt, but godly wisdom was the key to making those blessings count towards the goal of becoming financially free. So often we think that we need a miracle from God to get us out of our mess. God does do miracles! But sometimes what we need most is wisdom from the Lord. This applies to financial difficulties or any other problem in life. Enjoy this video! Don't be condemned! Just realize that the Lord loves you and has a good plan for your life. Follow that plan and you'll be blessed! Notes: HOW GOD GOT ME OUT OF DEBT Reading: 1 Kings 3:3-15 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. (1Kings 3:9-13, AV). MT Jesus will give you wisdom to be successful in life! Sometimes we think what we need is a miracle, or a breakthrough. But often what we most need is wisdom. Then when the miracle comes we will know how to handle it. Lottery winners often go broke after a few years. WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. (Proverbs 4:7-8, AV). WISDOM WILL CAUSE YOU TO INHERIT SUBSTANCE I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. (Proverbs 8:12-21, AV). We are not talking about being greedy here, but God wants you blessed, and He blesses through wisdom. -Wisdom is a person. -Wisdom comes through prayer. James if any lacks wisdom, let him ask of God. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1Corinthians 1:30, AV). NKJV became for us….. WISDOM IN FINANCES The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7, AV). When you are in debt, you make decisions based on the lender. You are the servant.
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. (2Corinthians 2:14, AV). What a powerful Word of God!!! God ALWAYS causes us to triumph! Not sometime. Half the time. Once in a while. ALWAYS! Think of it. Total victory. All the time. That is God's plan for your life. No, He's not promising you a trouble free life. But through every trial, He gives victory. In this message, I share about the trial of my faith when I was in the hospital three times in October, November. and December of last year. It was a very difficult time, but God is bringing us through to victory! Rejoice! He always causes us to triumph in Christ! NOTES: God ALWAYS causes us to triumph in Christ! Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. (2Corinthians 2:14, AV). MT: No matter what the circumstance, God is always giving victory to the people of God. Paul did not live a trouble free life: Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. (2Corinthians 11:24-27, AV). And yet he proclaimed that God ALWAYS causes us to triumph. Is this just putting your head in the sand and ignoring problems, or is it something different? Tom's testimony. For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1:37, AV). And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. (Luke 18:27, AV). Maybe you have an impossible situation. A loved one who is away from God, away from you. A sickness or disease that man says in incurable. A deep emotional distress with seemingly no way out. A financial ditch that you cannot climb out of. Remember, God always, always, always causes us to triumph. Paul says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. And again I say rejoice! Absolutely nothing can defeat the child of God. Even death cannot defeat us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35-39, AV). We have friends and partners who have lost spouses. It hurts. It causes grief. It can seem like total defeat. But for the Christian, death is not a defeat, it is a promotion. In Christ there is a resurrection. Nothing is lost!!! O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1Corinthians 15:55-58, AV). Eventually, Paul lost his life on this earth. Tradition says that he was beheaded. But he is not defeated! He is still proclaiming victory today through the words he wrote. We are not defeated. We are more than conquerors through Him that loves us. If you have not, receive Christ today.
We think of the grace of God as God's unmerited favor through which we have the forgiveness of sins. It is, but it is also God's ability working in us to make us different. Grace helps us to live right, and you can appropriate that grace through prayer whenever you need it! Audio Notes: GRACE HELPS US TO LIVE RIGHT For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14, AV). What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:1-4, AV). MT Some think that the message of grace is a license to sin (or a get out of jail free card), but on the contrary, grace provides God's supernatural ability for us to live right before God. Grace (charis) God's unmerited favor Greek Lexicon: 1. good will, loving-kindness, favor 2. of the merciful kindness by which God exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues. (nurtue and admonition) GRACE TEACHES US TO LIVE RIGHT For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. (Titus 2:11-15, AV). GOD IS WORKING ON YOU! For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10, AV). For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13, AV). NOT BY OUR STRENGTH, BUT BY GRACE But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. (1Corinthians 15:10, AV). APPROPRIATING GRACE THROUGH PRAYER Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, AV). CONCLUSION: By confessing our sin and receiving God's mercy, we can then find grace to help in time of need. We NEED help! Help Lord! Help!!!
Jesus is the Christmas gift who God sent to the earth 2,000 years ago. Through him, we receive the gift of eternal life, sonship, forgiveness of sins, and the gift of righteousness. These are things that we cannot earn, but are freely given to us, because of Jesus and his sacrifice on Calvary. If you have to work to receive something, it is no longer a gift. It is an obligation. But God gives us a free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. I encourage you to receive all that God has for you in Christ Jesus today. NOTES: Jesus, The Christmas Gift ““For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, MEV) Main Thought: God in His love has given us a gift to receive, not to be earned. Jesus is God's Gift to Humanity “Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name,” (John 1:12, MEV) Salvation is Given, Not Earned “The Example of Abraham What then shall we say that Abraham, our father according to the flesh, has found? If Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. What does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Now to him who works, wages are not given as a gift, but as a debt. (Romans 4:1-4, MEV) They Which Receive Will Reign in Life “For if by one man's trespass death reigned through him, then how much more will those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17, MEV) Jesus is a gift. Sonship is a gift. Eternal Life is a gift. Righteousness is a gift. All the benefits of salvation are a gift. We are His Workmanship “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:8-10, MEV) Conclusion: Make a decision today, to not depend on your own righteousness, but to believe in Jesus, and all that he has done for you. Human beings are naturally resistant to change both in natural things and spiritual things. That is why many Christians and even entire denominations are stuck in a rut of a past move of God and are not moving forward with the new things that God is doing today. Acts 10 is the story of two men who needed change in their lives. One of them, Cornelius, did not receive the change he needed because no one had told him what to do. But the other man, Peter, did not change because he was stuck in a rut of religious tradition. We must be open to change if we want to move with God and make an impact on this world for Jesus Christ. We need to begin to do things God's way and not our own way. Doing thing His way will produce the power and results in the purposes of God. Listen to this audio podcast and you will learn: How God went to extreme measures to change the trajectory of Peter's ministry. How one house meeting changed the course of the Christian Church. How God used the baptism of the Holy Spirit to convince the Jewish believers that God wanted them to reach Gentiles. How you can open up spiritually to the change that God wants to bring in your life.
Today, God is pouring out His Spirit on those that are thirsty. There are many problems in the world that man can't solve, but the Spirit of God has all the answers and the power to bring lasting change in the hearts of mankind. In this message, God is encouraging us to be a light in this dark world and to let the Holy Spirit have His way in our lives. Our Father has promised to pour out His Spirit on ALL flesh. I believe that we are going to see the greatest move of God to ever hit the face of the earth before Jesus returns. It's time to pray for God's glory and pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (Jeremiah 32:17, AV) Scientists tell us that the universe is at least 97 million light years across, and God set the entire thing up like we would set up a pup tent. If He can do that, certainly nothing is impossible with Him. In this audio message, we look at the great miracles of the Bible as well as the miracles of today. Tom sharing this message at Holy Life Tabernacle Church Pastors' Conference. All of us need mercy … including preachers. Mercy is required because we all have missed God, failed, fallen, and broken His commandments. When we recognize our failure, we can easily become discouraged. We may think: I'll never be good enough. I'll never measure up. We look at our failures and wonder, "How can God ever use me?" But what we don't realize is that it's not about us, it's about God's grace and His ability to take people who have failed and use them for His glory. Think about the great heroes of faith. Abraham, Moses, Peter, and Paul, for example, were all people who failed miserably. And yet they became world changers. For ministers of the Gospel, the battle in the mind can be intense, when we recognize that our speech and actions affect only us, but also those under our care. James says, "My brothers, not many of you should become teachers, knowing that we shall receive the greater judgment. We all err in many ways. But if any man does not err in word, he is a perfect man and able also to control the whole body. (James 3:1-2, MEV) We must realize that the Christian life can only be lived by faith in what Jesus did on the cross and a recognition of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We must look to Him and be saved rather than spending our whole lives looking at our own weaknesses and condemning ourselves. For the gospel was preached to us as well as to them. But the word preached did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith in those who heard it. (Hebrews 4:1b-2, MEV) God has given us wonderful benefits of the Gospel—forgiveness, righteousness, healing, peace, and victory. But in order for it to be activated in our life, we must believe it. God has done His part. Now we must do ours. It's time to believe and activated the benefits of the Gospel in our lives. Click to watch. Is Jesus the only way to God? We often hear that there are many paths to God. But are there? What does the Bible say? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6, MEV) Jesus is unique of all spiritual leaders, because he was God in the flesh, He died for our sins, and He ever lives to be our Savior. All have us experienced those times when we cry out for help in time of need! During our move from Mankato to Scandia, Minnesota, I experienced one of those times. I was driving back to Mankato with my 1990 Ford F150 pickup for a final load of items from our garage when my truck spun out on the interstate highway I35. I was right at the division between 35W and 35E north of the Twin Cities when I totally lost control of my vehicle. I didn't have time to compose a polished prayer. I simply cried out, "Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!," as the truck was spinning around on the busy highway. Somehow I landed in the median between 35W and 35E in a bank of snow. I got out and put the truck in 4-wheel drive, but it would not budge, as the snow was up to the frame all around. Being late for a very important appointment in Mankato, which I had scheduled to coincide with my plans to haul garage items, I did not have time to wait for a tow truck. So once again I prayed. This time I used a few more words, which I do not remember, but in essence I said, "Help Lord!" Suddenly I looked up and there was a man at the window. I rolled down the window and said, "Are you an angel?" He did not answer, but said, "I don't know if I can pull you out with my SUV, but we can give it a try." He had a long strap used for towing in the back of his vehicle, which he hooked to the frame of my truck. He told me to turn my wheels to the right, put it in gear, and give it the gas when he started to pull. The truck immediately came out of the snow, and I was on my way to Mankato. I left the truck in 4-wheel drive all the way through the cities and made it just in time to have my appointment in Mankato. That is grace to help in time of need! How to Find Grace to Help in Time of Need How do you obtain help in time of need. By coming to the throne of grace. It's not by your works of righteousness. It's not by the church you attend or your family heritage. It's because you have a high priest over the house of God, who has gone before you with His own blood to make a way for you to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Since then we have a great High Priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was in every sense tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us then come with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16, MEV) The King James Version says "come boldly." I like that! We have a Great High Priest, who knows what it is like to be human, who is at the throne making intercession for you. You may be facing a great time of need with your health, your finances, your family, or your mental wellbeing, but I've come to tell you that there is help for you at the throne of grace. Obtaining Mercy and Grace to Help in Time of Need Hebrews explains the Old Testament sacrificial system, which is a picture or a figure of the true system of access to God in heaven. I've been reading Leviticus, and finding myself so thankful that we do not live under that system. Last week, on our video, we did a calculation of the amount of blood of cattle, sheep and goats shed for the dediation of Solomans Temple. There were 1.2 million quarts of blood spilled, which was still inadequate to take away sins. However, Jesus' blood, a mere 5-6 quarts, was sufficient to take away the sins of the whole world. (Jn 1:29) Imagine the cost of all those animals. That was the price that they had to pay just to cover sins. But Jesus paid the total price for us to remove all of our sins, and gave it to us as a free gift. Like the old chorus: He paid a debt He did not owe. I owed a debt I could not pay. I needed someone to wash my sins away. And now I sing a brand new song. Amazing grace all day song.
This video is a follow-up to an article I recently wrote on "The Precious Blood of Christ." This video goes deeper into the question of why the blood of Christ is precious. The blood of Jesus is precious to me because of my experience with the Lord. When I surrendered to Him in 1977, He spoke these words, "Precious is the blood of the Lamb, which was shed for you." The blood of Jesus changed my life, and for that reason it is precious, valuable, and honored in my life. The Scripture has much to say about the precious blood of Christ, and in this video or audio podcast we examine some of the powerful scriptures concerning the blood. We find out that the precious blood of Christ procured salvation for everyone in the world who will accept it. We find out that the blood of Jesus procures a powerful change in our inward man. And we see that the blood of Christ secures access into the very presence of God. I hope you enjoy this powerful teaching from the Word of God on video or audio! NOTES: Why is the Blood of Christ Precious? For you know that you were not redeemed from your vain way of life inherited from your fathers with perishable things, like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1Peter 1:18-19, MEV) First words God spoke to me: “Precious is the blood of the lamb, which was shed for you.” My testimony. I share it over and over again. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. (John 1:29, MEV) Precious (timios) of a great price, precious 2 hold in honor, esteemed, especially dear. I. THE BLOOD HAS LIFE CHANGING POWER For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies so that the flesh is purified, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:13-14, MEV) II. THE BLOOD CLEANSES US OF SIN But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1John 1:7, MEV) III. THE BLOOD GIVES US ACCESS TO THE FATHER Therefore, brothers, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way that He has opened for us through the veil, that is to say, His flesh, (Hebrews 10:19-20, MEV) Let us then come with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, MEV) RECEIVE SALVATION BY CONFESSING AND BELIEVING IN CHRIST that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Minneopa State Park, Mankato, Minnesota. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they [were] bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? (Exodus 15:23-24, AV) Just as Israel faced the bitter waters of Marah, we also face bitter waters in the circumstances of life. Hard things—such as broken relationships, betrayal, sickness, loss of a loved one, financial difficulties, personal failure, or troubles in our nation, community, and church—can bring us into sorrow and test our mettle. But even more of a threat to our spiritual wellbeing is bitterness in our hearts. Israel's problem was not just a mud puddle in the wilderness, it was the attitude of their hearts that was the greatest threat. Likewise, we must beware that we do not allow the bitter circumstances of life cause us to have a deeper problem of bitterness in our souls. Through Jesus' death on the cross, God has provided forgiveness and given us the pure water of life to flow through our inner being. But if we allow bitterness, anger, and evil speech to consume our being, our waters will be polluted and we will not produce good fruit in our lives. As the scripture says: Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled; (Hebrews 12:14-15, AV) With all the wrangling, strife, and anger in society today, we must carefully guard our hearts so that we are not polluted and fail of the grace of God. Bitterness can hinder our faith and our prayer life, and can even cause us to fall away from the Lord. Satan is doing all he can to pollute our wells and destroy our lives. By God's grace, though, we can follow peace with all men, walk in holiness, and keep the pure waters flowing in our lives. Enjoy this audio message! It may be just what the doctor ordered. The goal of being like Jesus seems to be unobtainable. And yet the Bible says that we are predestined to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. We try and try, but we always fall short of that goal. It's time to give up and let Christ take over. Let Him work in you to will and do His good pleasure. We can only please Him with faith. Just as we can have faith for the forgiveness of our sins, we can also have faith in Christ in us, the hope of glory. When He lives His life through us, then, and only then, we will be like Him This is a message of encouragement to quit struggling to be good enough for God and let the Holy Spirit have His way in your life. Notes: OVERCOMING GUILT AND CONDEMNATION Christian or non-Christian. Maybe it’s something from before you became a Christian. Maybe it’s a personal failure, a broken relationship, a destructive habit, pain you have caused others. Reading: Jn 8:1-12 Text: “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.” (John 8:11, MEV) MT Jesus is not a condemner, He is a Savior. Condemnation (katakrino) to give judgment against. To Judge worthy of punishment. Difference between conmemnation and conviction. Conviction is essentially bringing to light an error or sin. Conviction is good because it shows you that you need forgiveness and change. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, MEV) “Truly, truly I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24, MEV) HOW TO OVERCOME CONDEMNATION You must be born again. (John 3:7) You must receive your forgiveness. (Romans 8:16) No matter how many Pharisees say that you’re condemned, it Jesus says you are forgiven, you are forgiven. You must walk in the light of your salvation. (John 8:12, 1 John 1:7) HOW TO WALK IN THE LIGHT “go and sin no more.” Choose to follow Jesus Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12, MEV) Agree with God’s Word Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32, AV) For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:17, AV) Think like a child of God. (Rom 12:1-2) Talk like a child of God. (2 Cor. 4:13) Act like child of God. (Eph. 4:17) WHEN YOU SIN, CONFESS IT AND RECEIVE FORGIVENESS If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1John 1:9, AV) CONCLUSION Receive His forgiveness today and go and sin no more. The key to every blessing of God is found in the Gospel. The key is the righteousness of God which we receive when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. In Paul's letter to the Roman's we see that the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith through the Gospel. Every day of our lives we can appropriate this righteousness (right-standing with God) and all the blessings that come with it by faith. Enjoy! Notes: THE KEY TO EVERY BLESSING For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith. As it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17, MEV) MT: Righteousness is the key that unlocks every blessing of the Gospel. Power (dumanis) strength, power, ability, power to perform miracles. Salvation (soteria) deliverance, preservation, healing, redemption present and future. Righteousness (dikaiosune) the state of being right or acceptable to God. Just (dikaios) upright, righteous, blameless. Justification (dikaioo) to make righteouss. Illustration: Prisoner in the dungeon, judge declares you not guilty, you are released from prison, forgiven, exonerated, delivered from guild and share, and restored to full citizenship. I. EVERY BLESSING OF GOD COMES TO US THROUGH HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH Eternal Life Romans 1 Cor. 6:9 the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God Peace with God Rom 5:1 Being Justified by faith, we have peace with God though Lord Jesus Christ. Victorious life Rom 5:17 reign in life. Answered Prayer James 5:16 fervant effectual prayer of a righteous man Healing 1 Peter 2:24 by His stripes you were healed. Access to God Heb. 4:16 come boldly. Freedom from condemnation. Rom 8:1-4, No condemnation, John 8:11II. RIGHTEOUSNESS IS REVEALED THROUGH THE GOSPEL When Jesus died on the cross, He took all our sins. When He rose again, He gave us His righteousness. Our part is to receive what He did by faith. Even though we don’t deserve it, we are given a robe of righteousness like the Prodigal Son. 2 Cor. 5:21 But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets. This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all and upon all who believe, for there is no distinction. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:21-23, MEV) III. RIGHTEOUSNESS IS REVEALED PROGRESSIVELY IN OUR LIVES from faith to faith…… the just shall live by their faith. this is not something for our initial salvation experienced and then left behind. No we live by faith in the son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us. Gal 2:20 As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, (Colossians 2:6, MEV) How did you receive Christ Jesus? By faith. How do you walk in Him? By faith. We are not saved by faith and a work of the Holy Spirit and then left to serve God in the strength of our flesh. No. We continue to believe God for righteousness to be revealed from faiith to faith. For each new season of our lives, we need a new level of faith. He is progressively making as more like Jesus. He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32, MEV) that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10, MEV) CONCLUSION: God has give you a great gift through the cross and resurrection of Christ. Receive Jesus as Lord and walk in all that He has for you in Christ. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. (Acts 4:33, NKJV) Because of Jesus' resurrection, we are released from death and given a new life. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in human history. There are many proofs of the resurrection of Christ—in the Bible, through corroborating history, in our hearts, and more. But here we see that the apostles gave witness (or we could say produced proof) of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. No doubt that proof included the signs and wonders that accompanied their preaching. We can attest that God is still doing miracles today, which give proof of the resurrection! Jesus is alive! In this message you will learn why the resurrection is important, what it means to you today, what it will mean for you in eternity, and how we can give proof of the resurrection to our generation. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, (1Peter 3:18, NKJV) Jesus died to bring us to God! That is the message of the cross. Through His death, burial and resurrection, we have access to the Father, not only in eternity, but now! Think of it! Because of Jesus, I can freely approach the most powerful, wise, and creative personality in the universe. He is my Father, and He loves me and cares for me. There are times in my life when my need for the Father is acute! When I need comfort, when I need peace, when I need healing, when I need wisdom, my Father is always there, able and willing to provide. Without Jesus I could not approach Him. He’s too holy, and I have wandered so far away. But because of the cross, I am forgiven and I am cleansed. Jesus bore my sins and brought me into the family. In this world of confusion and chaos, faith in the Gospel is what we most need. We can rest in what He did, rather than trying to prove ourselves as acceptable. Jesus made peace through the blood of the cross. When we receive Him as Lord and Savior, all that the Father has is ours! And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. (Luke 7:36-38, NKJV) Jesus’ dinner engagement with a Pharisee became a teachable moment when a woman of the city who was a sinner entered the dining room and began to wash Jesus’ feet with tears, wipe them with her hair, kiss them, and anoint them with a precious ointment. This woman’s love and devotion for Jesus was contrasted to the inhospitable behavior of the Pharisee, and as a result of her faith and her actions, she was forgiven of her sins. Join Susan and me as we explore this touching story from Luke 7:36-50 and see how it relates to our own approach to God, and how to treat Jesus. God bless you! “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:6-8, NKJV) Jesus spoke of wars, rumors of wars, famine, disease, persecution, and deception that would come before the end of the age. Sounds like 2021! These are things that Jesus said would take place before He returns. And yet He said, “See that ye be not troubled …” How can we not be troubled when we see these things some to pass? The Bible has the answer, and Susan and I look into those answers in this video. You can have peace in troubled times! An encounter with Jesus will change your life! When Zacchaeus climbed up a tree to get a view of Jesus, Jesus invited Himself to Zacchaeus' house. While eating lunch, Zacchaeus' heart changed and he made a declaration of his plans to change his ways. "Today," Jesus said, "salvation has come to this house…" Your life can change too as you encounter Jesus! Reading: Luke 19:1-10
“And a certain woman had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and had suffered much under many physicians. She had spent all that she had, and was not better but rather grew worse.” (Mark 5:25-26, MEV) Reading: Mark 5:25-34 The woman with the issue of blood had a desperate unfulfilled need. The more she sought help, the worse she got. But when she heard about Jesus, hope came alive. She acted her faith. She touched Jesus, and she received a miracle from the Lord. You can too! “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.” By this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believe in Him would receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” (John 7:38-39, MEV) Do you want more of the Holy Spirit in your life? In John 4:13-14, Jesus spoke to the woman of Samaria about a well. This pertains to the work of the Holy Spirit in salvation. But in John 7, He speaks of a river. There is a difference between a well and a river. The substance is the same (the Holy Spirit) but there is a difference in volume. A well will sustain your household, a river will sustain a city or a region. A river has power to provide electricity, too. This Bible study, which was prepared for Gospel Tabernacle Evangelical Church in Highbridge, Somerset, England, will give you the biblical basis and practical steps to receiving more of the Holy Spirit in your life. Enjoy! Notes: You Can Receive More of the Holy Spirit A well of salvation "Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water that I shall give him will become in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.”" (John 4:13-14, MEV) Rivers of water "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.” By this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believe in Him would receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." (John 7:38-39, MEV) Some would say that when we are born again we have all the Holy Spirit we going to get, but that is not scriptural. John 3:34 God did not give Jesus the Spirit by measure. Eph. 3:19 Paul prayed that we would be filled with the fulness of God. If there is a fulness, there must also be a less than full. 2 Kings 2:9 Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. Eze 47 speaks of a wading out into a river ankle deep, knee deep, waste deep, and then waters to swim in, waters that could not be passed over. The Holy Spirit in salvation: "When He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit." (John 20:22, MEV) The Baptism (immersion) of the Holy Spirit "And look, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”" (Luke 24:49, MEV) Waiting for the Promise "Being assembled with them, He commanded them, “Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, of which you have heard from Me. For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”" (Acts 1:4-5, MEV) Apostles pray for saved people to receive the Holy Spirit "Samaritans Receive the Holy Spirit Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. When they came down, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, for still He had come on none of them. They were only baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus." (Acts 8:14-16, MEV) The Early Church was Refilled On being released, they went to their own people and reported what the chief priests and elders had said to them. When they heard this, they lifted their voices in unity to God and prayed, “Lord, You are God, who has made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, and who by the mouth of Your servant David said: ”Why did the nations rage, and the people devise vain things? The kings of the earth came, and the rulers were assembled together against the Lord and against His Christ. Indeed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were assembled together against Your holy Son Jesus whom You have anointed,to do what Your hand and Your counsel had foreordaine...
One of the most profound and amazing truths from the New Testament is that the God of the universe has committed Himself to be our Helper. When Jesus was preparing His disciples for His departure, He told them, “If you love Me, keep My commandments. I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, that He may be with you forever: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it does not see Him, neither does it know Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you fatherless. I will come to you." (John 14:15-18, MEV) The Greek word translated "Counselor" here, is 'parakletos," meaning "one called along side to help." The Holy Spirit, who is God and who is the third person of the Trinity, is called along side to help you and me. What an awesome truth! In this Bible Study, which was prepared for Gospel Tabernacle Evangelical Church in Highbridge, Sommerset, England, we look at the different ways that the Holy Spirit helps us. He gives us strength, wisdom, guidance, and so much more. Enjoy this message and enjoy all the benefits of the Holy Spirit which belong to every believer in Christ Jesus. Notes: The Holy Spirit Our Helper “If you love Me, keep My commandments. I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, that He may be with you forever: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it does not see Him, neither does it know Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you fatherless. I will come to you." (John 14:15-18, MEV) fatherless (orphanos) breref of a father, teacher, guide, or guardian. NKJ orphans 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—(amplified, classic) God has promised to be our helper. The Holy Spirit is how He does it. God is our refuge and strength, a well–proven help in trouble." (Psalms 46:1, MEV) KJV very present… Sometimes we think of the Holy Spirit as a gentle influence, but we need to realize that the Holy Spirit brought for the Creation when the Word was spoken, raised Jesus from the dead, and makes the lame to walk and the blind to see. So when he says “strengthener,” that is a powerful thing. But sometimes what we need is comfort, or guidance, or intercession. He is the provider of what you need from God in every situation of your life. The Holy Spirit always works in coordination with God’s Word. If we agree with God’s Word, we are enlisting the help of the Holy Spirit. It we disagree with God’s Word we are rejecting the help of the Holy Spirit. “If you love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father and he will give you another comforter.” So it starts with surrendering our will and finds its fulfillment in a walk of obedience. Eph. 3:14-21 Strengthened by might by His Spirit Luke 24:29 endued with power from on hight Gen. 1:1-3 the Holy Spirit in creation Jer 32:17 Nothing is too difficult for Him 1 Kings 18:46 out running a chariot Judges 14:6 tearing apart a lion "And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you are sealed for the day of redemption." (Ephesians 4:30, MEV) Mark 16:20 confirming the Word with signs following John 1:12 the right to become a child of God Rev. 3:20 Opening the door The Holy Spirit: Convicts us of our need to receive Jesus. (John 16:8) When we receive Jesus, He let’s us know that we are children of God. (Romans 8:16) Shows us those things that are freely given us of God. (Romans 8:17, 1 Cor. 2:12) Empowers us to be a witness for Jesus. (Acts 1:8)
“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love." (Revelation 2:4, NKJV) Jesus’ message to the church at Ephesus contained a pat on the back for their sound doctrine and good works. But Jesus warned them that they had left their first love and were in danger of losing their candlestick. When we begin a relationship, we are full of love, zeal, and passion, but as time goes on and distractions abound, we can easily abandon our first love. It's like that in marriage, and it's like that in our relationship with the Lord. The Word of God tells us that our relationship with Jesus is like a marriage. Paul, in talking about the marriage relationship, said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I am speaking about Christ and the church." (Ephesians 5:31-32, MEV) In both relationships, we need to do something to "keep the home fires burning." We must cultivate and at times rekindle the fire that we once had. We need to be careful to not get our eyes on the wrong things and lose our initial passion. Here are three keys to keep the fire burning in your marriage, and in your relationship with the Lord: Spend quality intimate time together. Just as in the marriage relationship, times of intimacy with the Lord are essential. When we worship Him, love Him, wait on Him, and feed on His Word, He can reveal His heart to us and make our hearts burn. Walk together in your daily life. It is important that a husband and wife work together and play together in their daily life. Too many independent activities are not good. In the same way, Jesus should be a part of our work day, our shopping, and our leisure activities. Going hunting with Jesus is good. He's our constant companion by the Holy Spirit. Watch your associations. Friendships with people who pull you away from your spouse are not good. Attitudes that encourage sexual promiscuity and disloyalty are distructive to the marriage. In the same way, spending too much time with some people can hinder your relationship with the Lord. Jesus said to the church in Ephesus, "Remember therefore from where you have fallen. Repent, and do the works you did at first, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your candlestick from its place, unless you repent." (Revelation 2:5, MEV) We need to remember the value of our relatitionship with the Lord and return to our first love. It's a decision that we make every day to cultivate and reignite the flames of love. Enjoy this message from the heart of God! Fan the Flames of Revival … and Let it Spread! In these challenging times, we need to remember to be thankful for all that the Lord has done for us. Above all, we can be thankful for the blood of Jesus which was shed for us. So we are sharing an online Thanksgiving Communion Service with you. It's just 17 minutes and you can watch the video or listen on our podcast. Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving! Notes: REMEMBER THE BLOOD "The Lord’s Supper I have received of the Lord that which I delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the night in which He was betrayed, took bread. When He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take and eat. This is My body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”In the same manner He took the cup after He had supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. ”As often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes." (1Corinthians 11:23-26, MEV) Main Thought: Remember the blood of Jesus, because it is only through His blood that you have eternal life, a relationship with God, healing, divine protection, wisdom, authority in prayer, and every good gift that comes from God. "whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith, in His blood, for a demonstration of His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins previously committed," (Romans 3:25, MEV) "How much more then, being now justified by His blood, shall we be saved from wrath through Him." (Romans 5:9, MEV) "In Him we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace," (Ephesians 1:7, MEV) "how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:14, MEV) Therefore, brothers, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus," (Hebrews 10:19, MEV) "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." (1John 1:7, MEV) SO … Maybe you’re going through the trial of your life. REMEMBER THE BLOOD Maybe you haven’t seen loved ones or had fellowship for months. REMEMBER THE BLOOD Maybe you’re battling a disease or severe finanicial difficulties. REMEMBER THE BLOOD "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32, MEV) RECEIVE THIS MEAL and all that it means, in Jesus name. And remember, He died, but He’s alive, and if you've received Him, so are you! Enjoy the life!
