How many consecutive days could you eat Chickfila? Except Sundays, of course! Digging back into the news archive, we found reports about a teenage boy in Atlanta who broke a record by eating at Chickfila more than 100 days in a row. That inspired Mark Mendenhall, known as the mayor of his Chickfila, to eat Chickfila 114 days in a row. On day 15, Mark was at Disneyland with his family. He drove back to his Chickfila to keep the streak alive and then rejoined his family at Disney! Then in 2020, a Pennsylvania man saw that story and thought he could beat it. Matt Stoudt ended up with a 132-day Chickfila streak. Ben Boyles saw that story and got inspired. In this episode you'll meet Ben, the California man who holds this delicious record. Elvis had Graceland. The Vanderbilts had The Biltmore. And Truett Cathy had the Dwarf House. Originally built in Hapeville, Georgia in 1946 with only 10 stools and four booths, the 512-square foot diner became the birthplace of the Original Chick-fil-A sandwich. Opened by Truett and his brother Ben, people flocked to the tiny restaurant 24-hours-a-day, 6-days-a-week to chow down on 20 cent cheeseburgers and 65 cent steak plates. The restaurant shut down in April 2021 to undergo a massive renovation. Jim Mann and Alison Storm took a tour of the brand new location, which is part-restaurant, part-museum to the legacy of Chickfila. Guests are welcomed by a life-size statue of Truett sitting on a bench out front. The iconic little red door is still an option for entering the (not so dwarf-like) 10,000 square foot restaurant. Inside, regulars will notice the familiar stained glass windows, retro brick and even light fixtures that once decorated the original Dwarf House. Sick of bad bosses? You may want to apply at Chick-fil-A. The company invests a lot into developing and training leaders, which in turn creates happier employees. For the first time ever, we're welcoming our guest from last week back for another chat. Last week we got insider info on how to land a job at Chick-fil-A from Susan Carnes, an account executive with Cooper Connect. Her job is to scout talent specifically for Chick-fil-A locations. This week Susan dives into the revolutionary methods that make Chick-fil-A bosses the best, including servant leadership. It's the reason why it's not unusual to see bosses picking up trash in the parking lots or clean toilets. She also explains how these leaders keep their staff motivated with things like complimentary massages, free cars and cash bonuses. The American Consumer Satisfaction Index Restaurant Report 2019-2020 reveals that Chickfila is No. 1 among quick-service restaurants, based on quality, value and customer expectations. But experts say that's all a trickle down effect from great leadership. This episode was edited by Jim Mann, Mann Made Productions. One of our favorite phrases is "Treat Others the Way Chick-fil-A Treats You." Kennedy Krezi grew up in a Nairobi slum, but thanks to the kindness of strangers he was given an education, food, medical care and most important of all, hope. As Christmas approaches, it's the perfect time to fully embrace the idea of treating others the way Chick-fil-A treats you. In the latest episode of My Pleasure: The Unofficial Chick-fil-A Podcast, we’re going to give you a chance to do just that in a very special way—you’ll have the opportunity to change a child’s life, just like someone did for Kennedy. You can share hope with a child like Kennedy. We are excited to tell you about two ways to sponsor a child with Compassion International: Text CHICK to 83393, and you will get a picture of a child to sponsor. Just follow the steps to sponsor that child. Or, to choose from multiple children – maybe you want to search by age, or country, go to compassion.com/chick. As our 'thank you' to you for treating others the way Chick-fil-A treats you, we'll send you a free gift when you start sponsoring. We'll send you a free DRINK MOR COFFEE Tumbler just to say thank you. We can't think of a better way to show love and spread hope this holiday season. How do you say goodbye to something you love? You savor every moment, that’s how. And that’s what we’re doing as we prepare to say so long to the Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich. Chickfila tested this sandwich in the Upstate of South Carolina, and around Asheville, North Carolina. Before it disappeared, My Pleasure podcast hosts Alison Storm and Jim Mann share their opinions. According to chef Stuart Tracy, one of Chick-fil-A’s senior culinary developers, this is the first variation of the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich they’ve tested as a seasonal item. They worked on the concept for a year before bringing it out as a test item. Chick-fil-A’s research shows 48% of consumers are interested in trying chicken entrees with new or unique flavors, and preferences for spicy flavors are growing, particularly among Millennials. About 7 or 8 years ago Chick-fil-A executives began to notice people were ordering their Chick-n-Minis and Egg White Grills while holding a competitor’s coffee cup. They wanted to give customers a better cup of coffee, but they didn’t want to join forces with just anyone. Then in 2014 Chick-fil-A partnered with a relatively unknown coffee company called THRIVE Farmers. One year after partnering with THRIVE Farmers, Chick-fil-A’s coffee sales doubled. Not only is it a better-tasting cup of coffee—but the mission really matches up with Chick-fil-A’s culture of putting people before profits. Tony Lahood, Will Moujaes, and Mike Koury say they were on a bro-trip when a fast-food meal turned messy. One of the guys spilled sauce in Tony's car. The spill led them to start thinking about the in-car sauce struggle. Many late-night design sessions later, the Saucemoto Dip Clip was born. The Saucemoto is a fast-food sauce holder designed to fit just about any type of vehicle’s vent. Now you can just say no to dry waffle fries or plain nuggets while driving. My Pleasure podcast hosts Alison and Jim love the Saucemoto, but would millionaire and billionaire investors on the hit show Shark Tank grasp the concept? This was a real concern for Tony, Will, and Mike. Their pitch appeared on season 10, episode 22. They spent hours and hours preparing for their Shark Tank appearance. They knew they needed to be able to answer to every question the Sharks could ask. And they nailed it. Their episode aired and Kevin O'Leary offered $45,000 for a 25% equity share.
