Michael Burry is once again predicting that the economy is going to suffer in a severe manner in the coming months and days. So much so, that he has dumped his whole portfolio besides an investment in a for profit prison. According to Burry, who shot to fame during the housing crisis, there is severe pain on the horizon and its going to be felt throughout the economy. Today we conclude our ranking of the ten greatest films of the 2010s. We debate over what makes it into the top ten, where we rank some of our personal favorites, and come to a pretty clean consensus on the top three or so. Henry also gets the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break some crucial casting news to Samuel. Also, why we hate feature film sorting on movie database sites. (Recorded November 8th, 2021.)

There is a small percentage of actors who get the opportunity to be part of one franchise, but with todays guest, KAREN GILLAN, she's been part of not just one, but TWO multibillion dollar franchises. Her first agent described her as having "sheer perseverance" due to her being relentless in having them represent her: AT THE AGE OF 15! Two working class parents who were her biggest fans to the point of even playing major roles in booking auditions. That's right, you will hear how her mother's thick Scottish accent made Adam Mckay laugh to the point where he cast Karen due to the sheer comedy of the self tape. Her father's love for old crooners such as Frank Sinatra gave Karen aspirations of being an opera singer. She was so infatuated with the performance arts that gymnastic looked like dance routines! Her iconic “Nebula” role on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY was initially a one-off with her character dying in the first film but her take on the character inspired James Gunn to rewrite the fate of her character. She did not waste anytime after finishing drama school by booking the "Amy Pond" role on DOCTOR WHO which soon led to her torrid pace of SELFIE, AVENGERS, JUMANJI and the soon to be released Netflix GUNPOWDER MILKSHAKE. She is easily Box Office Gold but that doesn't deter her from being fearful of losing that momentum. She's reached a place where she would TAKE advice from her younger self instead of giving it. These are the unforgettable stories that landed KAREN GILLAN right here. For exclusive content surrounding this and all podcast episodes, sign up for our amazing newsletter at AlyshiaOchse.com.

Adam McKay leaves the Comedy world for a serious dramatic film! Not really but The Big Short is an amazing movie that looks at the crashing of the housing market in 2007. There is nothing this movie does not have. Brad Pitt as a regular guy? Check! Ryan Gosling as a sleazeball? Check! Hope y'all enjoy!

If #Silver Hits $50, Here's How To Get An 800 to 1 Return (or better) If the above headline sounds too good to be true, frankly I can understand. However, just like how the investors portrayed in the movie #TheBigShort were able to generate outsized returns by being prepared for a market changing event, the same possibility exists at this very moment in the silver space. And if you believe all of the paper leverage is going to eventually collapse the current paper pricing scheme, it's interesting to see what's possible in the #optionsmarket. Where the possibility of getting 800 to 1 return, or even better, is actually possible. A cyberattack has the potential to disrupt the global economy, but using traditional underwriting and risk management approaches may leave insurers and businesses vulnerable to large financial losses. In this episode, Milliman’s Chris Harner and Chris Beck discuss how a cyberattack could create a scenario similar to 2008’s financial crisis, and the need for a new risk management paradigm that not only takes into account the interconnectedness of the risk, but provides a way for businesses to measure their exposure and prepare for it.

On this episode, we return to the theme of financial corruption and public indignation via the 2016 siege-drama; 'Money Monster'. Directed by Jodie Foster and starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts; the film follows a financial-affairs based TV crew on Wall Street as a disgruntled investor storms the set and holds them hostage on live TV. Angry and demanding answers over the disingenuous financial advice he has been given, we examine the increasingly predominant themes of anti-Wall St sentiment, popular indignation toward the system, and the theatre of reactionary politics around socioeconomic issues. We also look at the Hollywood A-Listers involved in the film, the symbolic illustration of esoteric concepts, and the broader social messages in relation to justice and moral victory. Topics discussed include: 'Money Monster', Wall Street, 'Mad Money', Jim Kramer, Goldman Sachs, Ridiculous Cable Shows, Stockmarkets, Fraud, Fiat Currency, Software Glitch, Narrow AI Algorithms, Speed Trading, 'Assault on Wall St', Jodie Foster's History with John Hinckley Junior, Mark David Chapman, Catcher in The Rye, Gun Control, MK-ULTRA, Corruption and Theft in Finance, Rebellion, Indignation, Disenfranchised Everyman, Lack of Journalism, Public Relations, Conflict of Interest, Media Incitement, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, United Nations Messenger of Peace, Council on Foreign Relations, The Sentry Foundation, Philanthropy, Diplomacy, Charities, Clooney Links to CIA, Clooney Being Groomed for Politics, Lee Gates Character, Masonic Coding, 'Money Monster=MM=Master Mason', Sentry=Gatekeeper, Gates to Solomon's Temple, Gatekeeper of The Wealthy, Hundred Dollar Bill, Benjamin Franklin, All Seeing Eye Symbolism, IBIS=Sacred Animal of Knowledge, Bank of International Settlements, ISIS=Public Enemy No.1, Public Outrage, Antagonism, Hypocrisy, Sensationalistic Media, Moral Relativity, Lack of Decisive Victory, 'The Wolf of Wall St', 'The Big Short', Lack of Moral Resolution in Films, U.S Political Divide, Hilary Clinton, Donald Trump, Anti-Establishment Rhetoric, Blending of Reality & Fiction, Strategy of Tension, Orlando Shooting, Frequency of Crises, Despair, Confusion, Masculine 'Right Path' and Feminine 'Left Path' Archetypes, Conflict of Inner Duality, Climate of Anger and Provocation.

Today's Guest: Bill Jones, Ben Timlett, documentary filmmakers, Boom Bust Boom (starring Terry Jones of "Monty Python's Flying Circus") Watch this exclusive Mr. Media interview with Bill Jones and Ben Timlett by clicking on the video player above! Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience full of people who always knew Alan Greenspan was full of shit but were more afraid of his journalist wife, Andrea Mitchell, than they were the head of the Fed… in the NEW new media capital of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida! If you will only sit still for one lesson in how Western economies work – or, don’t – I recommend you watch Boom Bust Boom by filmmakers Bill Jones and Ben Timlett. The documentary is a masterful explanation of the cycles caused by greed and mass psychosis, accomplished through a combination of historical recaps and expert witnesses, original animation, art and even “South Park” clips, plus much humor and song. BILL JONES podcast excerpt: "Ben and I just watched 'The Big Short' where they go, 'You're betting against the housing market? The housing market NEVER goes down! And I kept shouting at the screen, 'YEAH? 1929!!!" You can LISTEN to this interview with BILL JONES and BEN TIMLETT, documentary filmmakers of BOOM BUST BOOM, by clicking the audio player above! Oh, and actor John Cusack. The film’s third director and narrator’s not bad either: it’s Bill Jones’s dad, Terry Jones, whom you might recognize as a co-founder of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” and an accomplished filmmaker in his own right. He did, after all, write and direct Monty Python and The Holy Grail, Life of Brian, and The Meaning of Life. Perhaps you’ve heard of him? BEN TIMLETT podcast excerpt: "Do you want to know how Bill and I met? Bill's got an older sister; I've got an older brother. And we lived in the same area of South London. One day, Bill's Dad, Terry Jones, was dropping off Bill's sister near my house..." BILL JONES podcast excerpt: "... And my dad sees this little boy wandering around. He goes, 'Hello, little boy! I've got a little boy at home about your age. Do you want to come home and play with him?' And the last thing Ben's Mum sees is this strange man waving goodbye..." BEN TIMLETT podcast excerpt: "...I got in, and Terry said to my Mum, 'I'll bring him home at the end of school.' My Mum was like, 'I believe I recognize him (from 'Monty Python'), but I can't believe that just happened!" BILL JONES podcast excerpt: "We've been friends ever since." As for Bill Jones and Ben Timlett, this is their third feature together. Their last project was A Liar’s Autobiography, starring the five surviving Pythons. Before that, they collaborated on Absolutely Anything starring Simon Pegg and Robin Williams. Key interview moments: • 5:45 Bill Jones talks about comparisons between his film, Boom Bust Boom, and The Big Short; • 13:45 Ben Timlett discusses the challenges in editing such a complicated subject, let alone breaking down the immense crapload of jargon inherent in any financial discussion ; • 20:00 The filmmakers tell the true story of how the met as little boys (hint: it involves "Monty Python's Flying Circus" original member Terry Jones and a virtual kidnapping).
