Meet Azucena “Azu” Uribe! Azu is a junior in high school that was born and raised in Berkeley, California, like her parents. Raised in a multicultural home, their mom is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, and their father is of Mexican descent. Azu loves dancing, writing poetry, and spending time in nature and with people they love. They have been surrounded by music their whole life and are currently learning drums and guitar. Azu has been a part of Jewish Youth for Community Action (JYCA) and Jews Against Marginalization (JAM) for over 2 years, and has also worked at Olamim, a Latin-Jewish family program in the East Bay, since their freshman year. They are passionate about social and environmental justice for all and helping to heal/help this world in any way that they can. Tune into her story and learn about the ways in which she navigates her life at the crossroads of her rich Mexican-Jewish identity.
Azu Tiwaline is an artist creating new worlds for us all to hear and see each other within. Conjuring a sense of cosmic belonging within life's maelstrom, her music is an extension of her being transformed into abundant rhythmical energy - beloved for her wonderful ability to channel vast inner realms into the outward joys of dance & movement. With an extraordinary musical vision firmly rooted in the freeing kinetics of Soundsystem psychedelia, her vibrations bring vivid influence from the El Djerid desert & her Tunisian heritage into communication with the transcendent spatial awareness of dub and the grooving, dynamic exuberance of techno. Uniting these spellbinding elements into an alchemic synthesis, she conducts Saharan frequencies into eclectic, entrancing rhythms with a nimble & profound elegance - contrasting microcosms of light & darkness immersed in mercurial depths, ecstatic percussive intonations, & the breathtaking enchantment of bass weight pressure. Azu's mix is a transcendent journey that begins amidst the boundless expanse of space. From the outset, the mix propels you through undulating grooves, resembling cosmic waves that transport the listener through an intricate musical narrative. Azu skillfully guides the voyage, making stops at diverse realms that traverse infectious dub-driven breaks, hypnotic techno landscapes, and experimental ambient dimensions. With each twist and turn, the listener awaits the next stop in this extraordinary voyage, where musical boundaries are redefined. read the interview with Azu Tiwaline by Theresa Bäumel: https://www.itsdelayed.com/delayed-blog/artist-of-the-moment-azu-tiwaline-delayed-x-mostra https://soundcloud.com/azu-tiwaline https://www.instagram.com/azu.tiwaline/ www.mostra.barcelona/cat/ @human_club interview by: https://soundcloud.com/theresa-appletree Follow us on social media: @itsdelayed linktr.ee/delayed www.itsdelayed.com www.facebook.com/itsdelayed www.instagram.com/_____delayed www.youtube.com/@_____delayed

A veces, literalmente.

With Ojai Valley Brewery about to open its taproom and beer garden on Bryant Street this October, the time was right to catch up with Jeremy Haffner. He's been perfecting his hopless, local botanical beers for years, and selling them at the family restaurant Azu, which he operated with his wife Liz and mother-in-law Laurel Moore until the beloved institution was sold this month. Haffner has been using Ojai-specific herbs like sages, mugwort, yerba santa and sumac to give it the characteristic bitterness and flavor notes that beer enthusiasts crave. He also uses local water and runs his facility on 100 percent renewable energy, making only small batches to keep to an Ojai ethos of a sustainable, environmentally conscious, artisanal economy. We also talked about his travels as the frontman for Oedipus, a hard-rock band with a devoted following in Europe as well as America, Ojai's future, growing up in Los Angeles, our musical interests, drugs and creativity, witches and a design college for the old school district headquarters. We did not talk about the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sir John Franklin's Arctic expeditions or non-fungible tokens. https://ojaivalleybrewery.com/

Y me encantan.
