Congratulations to CeFaan on joining the ABC News team as a correspondent!Meet CeFaanSince joining WABC-TV in 2015, CeFaan has covered a wide range of important stories. Kristina Manansala joins Jerry on Episode 113 to share her personal journey of being the youngest in her Filipino American family, to studying neuroscience, and now helping to bridge the healthcare access gap particularly within the Asian American community. She will be graduating from the USC Keck School of Medicine with her MPH degree in biostatistics and epidemiology soon. #FightOnMeet Kristina, in her own words:Hello! My name is Kristina (Krissy). My parents immigrated from the Philippines to the United States and I was born and raised in the Bay Area. In my free time, I loooove yoga, drawing, baking and going on long hikes with my two pups, Cupcake and Gelato (Cupcake is a Chihuahua and Gelato is a German Shepherd!). I'm quite passionate about health care and research. I studied Neuroscience at UC San Diego, researched metabolic regulatory pathways at Scripps Research Institute and led medical relief projects in Sub-Saharan Africa and Central America. Right now, I am wrapping up my Master's of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at USC and am working on COVID-19 research projects at a Biotech company. I am very grateful for my mom's sacrifices, and as such I'm the only person in my family to graduate from college. Within the past few years, I've been on a journey to discovery my identity and value beyond professional or academic accomplishments. Erik Hall from Ane Croft joins us to analyze the legacy of the monumental band Nine Inch Nails. Promises were made that we were going to cover Nine Inch Nails before the end of 2018, and we could not think of a better way to close out Industrial December than by talking about THE band that represents industrial music more than any other. We must take our Blinders Off for this one. It seemed like industrial was everywhere in the 90s and early 2000s. Hundreds of bands were flooding the market, and trying to put their own stamp on the house that Nine Inch Nails built. Some bands waddle in a sea of mediocrity throughout their careers. In contrast, there are artists who spend most of their waking hours trying to master their craft. What happens when one pursuit of perfection becomes bigger than the individual, and the sheer complexity of what they created starts spiraling out of control? Saviour Machine is very much one of those bands. On this episode of Discography Discussion we discuss all of their releases and try to understand what went wrong with the band’s “Legend” trilogy; a concept that spanned well over a decade in production. Influence with Brad Harker - Interviewing business leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
This episode of Influence takes you right into the action with Dan Klein - millionaire marketer and co-founder of jobkilling.com. Dan has perfected a system that leverages the power of online marketing to help thousands ditch their job and embrace financial freedom. Understanding that many of our listeners are not necessarily looking to kill their job's, I convinced Dan to share some of his most prized online strategies to drive more leads through the proverbial front door. In this episode, we discuss: Why salesmanship is a necessary skill, regardless of profession. Why so many people get stuck in mundane jobs and end up working for someone elses dream. What is Virtual Real Estate and how can you create income developing virtual properties. Why most businesses are constructed backwards and a theory as to why most businesses fail. The importance of leads to sustainable business growth. Step-by-step process to start capturing leads today. How to "kill your job" and make a fortune working for yourself. "Leads are the game . . .there is nothing more important or nothing that drives revenue more than leads. That’s the only reason people advertise, is to generate leads. So if you want to fast forward your results, you need to learn how to be your own lead generator." -Dan Klein MEET DAN KLEIN As a former Division 1 Athlete, Dan left school to sell luxury motorhomes and automobiles. Dan was the youngest sales manager of a Fortune 500 Company, and perfected his sales techniques swiftly and with ease. After leaving the car industry in 2008, Dan spearheaded two highly profitable online sales businesses peaking over seven figures in sales during the worst financial crisis of our time. After the sale of his internet companies, Dan acquired three local businesses and entered the consulting realm. In mid-2014 Dan and a partner launched one of the largest world-wide local lead generation training companies to date; generating over $6 million in sales in less than 18 months. The company is jobkilling.com. and their mantra is "kill your 9-5". We were at YouTube Space LA for Google’s FIRST Women’s Think Tank last month! It was keynoted by Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media CEO Madeline Di Nonno. Seeing so many women creators get together was ToTaLLy AwEsOmE (PiPeRiFiC, one might say! #GirlPower). This episode has an interview about Google’s own MadeWithCode.com, Code Girl (the movie about girls around the globe who are coding their own programs) and diversity with Julie Ann Crommett from Google’s CS Education in Media initiative. We also ran through Google’s YouTube Space LA to give you an idea of what it looks like and what it’s like to film there (complete with a stop by the Tech Cage and quick chat with Alex about the equipment)! Yup, all the above is packed into into less than 4 minutes of Piper’s Picks TV!
