Summary Buying a home can be a daunting, exciting, and overwhelming experience. On this weeks podcast, sponsored by Real Estate RPh, we are joined by Neal and Kaitie Fox to discuss how they went about buying their first home. Neal is a pharmacist and Kaitie is a stay-at-home mom, and in this episode, they tell us what made them decide to buy a house when they did, what they would say to someone wanting to purchase their first home, and how interest rates and other aspects played a role in their decision. They delve into how they chose a financial lender and why they decided to change who they financed their house with at the last minute before explaining how YFP assisted them in this process. When looking for a real estate agent, it is important that you find someone who takes your needs into consideration and communicates effectively, and Neal and Kaitie explain why they decided to change agents early on in their journey. Finally, our guests remind us to use our resources wisely and ask as many questions as possible when buying a home. About Today's Guests Neal and Kaitie travelled from their hometown of Coshocton, OH to attend Cedarville University in 2011. A year later they married at age 19 and began their joint financial adventure. Kaitie began working at the University food service contractor and eventually became the Head Baker, supporting the family through pharmacy school and until the birth of their second son. Now, Kaitie is home raising Timothy, 5, and David, 1, while Neal works. Neal completed his PharmD at Cedarville and a PGY1 residency at Premier Health Miami Valley Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center with over 950 licensed beds and over 110 adult ICU beds. He currently serves as one of the Medical ICU Clinical Pharmacy Specialists and the Research Project Coordinator for the PGY1 pharmacy residency program. He occasionally gives lectures or hands-on training at Cedarville University while also taking APPE students from several pharmacy schools throughout the year. John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. I have some Good News for you today! Whether you realize it or not, God has done something absolutely wonderful for you, and has a gift for you to receive. Who wouldn't want what their Creator has for them? What is this Good News? We call it the Gospel. Did you know that “Gospel” means “Good News”? This is it: God, our Father, so loved the world that He gave His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. If you never think anyone does anything for you, remember that your Heavenly Father gave you something, His Son! The BEST thing He could possibly give to you! You know, it's a misconception that God is in heaven full of anger and wrath at people. He actually loves people, in fact, He loves you very much! Romans 5:8 says “God shows His love for us in this, while we were yet sinners Christ died for you”. Think about that. While you were at your absolute worst, God gave you His best. If that's not love, I don't know what is! 2 Cor 5:21 says that God made Jesus to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God. That scripture means that the punishment we were to receive for our sin and disobedience, Jesus took upon Himself. The wrath God would have poured out on us, He poured out upon Jesus on the cross. Romans 2:4 Don't you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? God's goodness is intended to lead us to repent. Repent means we turn from sin and turn to God. In other words, I don't want to do the thing that put Jesus on the cross. God's been too good to me for me to even want to live in that sort of way any longer. Whatever we lay down, and give up for the Gospel, God sees to it that we get something so much better. The Bible says in 1 Tim 4:8 that living a Godly Life is profitable unto ALL THINGS “promising benefits in this life and in the life to come”. In fact, Jesus said in John 10:10 “I have come that you may have an abundant life”. Think about that, God has a life of abundance and blessing that He wants you to live! Romans 6:23;10:13 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Are you ready to receive the gift He has for you? Say this simple prayer out loud and mean it in your heart: “Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Forgive me of my sin. Wash and cleanse me. Set me free. I confess with my mouth, Jesus is Lord. I turn my back on sin, and I follow You Lord Jesus! I believe You have died on the cross; I believe you've risen from the dead, and I believe you're coming back again for me. I receive forgiveness, I am saved, I'm born again, I have Jesus in my heart. AMEN! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/life-of-revival/support
John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Jesus replaced the entirety of the Old Covenant Laws with the “Law of Love”. It's the Law that as Believers we follow above all else. Romans 5:5 tells us that the love of God has been shed abroad in our heart. One translation says “God's love was poured into your hearts by the Holy Spirit”. The day you get saved, God's love is put inside of you. This is important to know, because it means we do have the ability to love every person, especially other believers. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/life-of-revival/support

For many of us, being a butcher is not our full time job. We might break down an animal 1,2,3 times during the year if we are lucky. Each year we find ourselves making the decision of taking the animal to a processor or doing it in the garage ourselves. This week the guys have the honor of talking with Nick Otto, the Huntavore, and discussing how to break down deer. Nick's passion for all things cutting, cooking, and culinary shows in discussion of the topics. He goes through the basics of what you can do in the field to help set yourself up for success at the butcher. The guys also cover the basics of breaking down an animal, specifically a whitetail deer, and how to get the most of your meat. Paul is recovering from sinus surgery, but doing well! Andrew's quest to fill the freezer before the rut continues, and he's on the board with number 2. Of course nothing happens as expected, so the story of the “missed” doe, and the follow up/week later doe comes to an end. A lot of news around the great state of Ohio. Hocking Hills state lodge is open, state wide pheasant release is coming soon, new fishing regulations and more. The state wide deer harvest as of 10/13/22 is 13,009, with 4739 being antlered deer, 8270 being antlerless, and Coshocton county has regained its reign as the king county at 535 deer. We would be remised if we didn't discuss the moronic stories out of Ohio as well. We dive into the walleye tournament scandal, and the Ohio hunting lease scandal as well. We aren't lawyers, just average spectators, but C'mon man! Have a great week and good luck to those getting out into the great Outdoors of Ohio! With such a vast and downright impressive body of work to her credit, you might be shocked to learn Lydia Loveless just turned 30. Since 2010, the singer and songwriter has released a handful of critically acclaimed albums, toured relentlessly, shared the stage with some folk and country legends, and managed to fashion quite a career for herself. Before Loveless was a household name in the realm of alt-country with her solo work, she was playing bass guitar in a band with her family members. Recently, Loveless, who is celebrating her 30th birthday the day of this episode's release, spoke to My First Band host Tyler Maas about growing up on a farm in the small Ohio town of Coshocton, learning to play guitar and piano while being homeschooled, early shows with her family's band, and playing out on her own during her late teen years. Along the way, Loveless spoke about Daughter (the excellent new album she's releasing on her own label Sept. 25), the ups and downs from a musical career that's spanned more than half her life and how she's staying busy in North Carolina amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Oh, and before the interview's end, she graciously indulged Maas in a little 90 Day Fiancé- and Mest-related conversation as well. My First Band is sponsored by Mystery Room Mastering and Lakefront Brewery. The show is edited by Jared Blohm. You can listen to My First Band on iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, and wherever else you get podcasts. Music used in this show comes courtesy of Devils Teeth ("The Junction Street Eight Tigers") and Lydia Loveless ("Wringer").

Today I am speaking with Dave Farley. Dave is a well known and sought after farrier in the Sporthorse world. He is also well known and respected in the farrier world as a generous educator. Many a farrier and vet have ridden in the truck with Dave and his son Jay for a day of mentorship. I met Dave over dinner in Wellington one night and I was amazed at how much information he shared. He imparted upon me decades of knowledge for the mere cost of a dinner at Chilli’s. Dave’s passion for the job started when he was just 7 years old when he visited the local Blacksmith and Coal Mine Tool Maker shop in 1961. By thirteen he was nailing on shoes. In the seventies, he took over a Farrier Shop at the county fairgrounds in Coshocton, Ohio where he worked on Standardbreds. On the recommendation of a veterinarian named Dr. Gable, he then started working at Ohio State University as the resident farrier. Then in the eighties, as the standardbred industry started to dwindle he started working on Hunter/Jumper and Dressage horses in Columbus, Ohio. His quest for knowledge has never dwindled and he credits his first two mentors Mr. Fritz Bookman and Mr. Frank McGinnis for instilling in him this desire to learn and to pass it on. Dave’s list of accomplishments is long, so here are just a few of many: Past Resident Farrier at Ohio State University Farrier Instructor at Otterbein College Farrier for the American Quarter Horse Congress First Official Farrier of the National Reining Horse Association American Farriers Association “Clinician of the Year” Founding member of the North East Association of Equine Practitioners Founding Member of both the American Association of Professional Farriers and of the International Association of Professional Farriers as well as past president of both Member of the International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame He has also shod several horses competing in several Olympic Games I was very excited to have the opportunity to interview Dave. He has a lot of well-earned wisdom we all could benefit from. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. So let's get to it….
Despite growing up in the small country town of Coshocton, Ohio, Allen carries an eclectic variety of musical influences like Def Leppard, Garth Brooks, Justin Timberlake, Goo Goo Dolls and Neal McCoy but truly has his family's musical history to thank for his uniquely edgy, country infused sound, “A lot of my family-members were singers. From 80's rock to blues and modern country, they covered it all.” After opening for Kip Moore, the chart-topping Country rocker gave Allen the advice, “Quit everything you're doing, move to Nashville and write your ass off,” and Allen did exactly that. The very next day the hopeful singer-songwriter packed his things to seek out Music City for himself and within weeks was calling Nashville “home.” 1 day after arriving in Music City, Allen had already scored his very first full-time gig on Broadway, performing 6-7 nights a week. Since starting his musical journey, the tenacious newcomer has performed alongside chart-topping acts such as Jake Owen, Kip Moore, Brad Paisley, Chris Jansonand Parmalee, and had a full-circle moment when given the opportunity to play alongside childhood hero, Neal McCoy. Casee & his self-created team released the first full project in 2017, and reached #31 on the Country Music Album Top 200, with his Debut EP album: “Double You”(in the 1st week!). Allen continues to captivate audiences across the country with his high energy performance and charismatic spirit, “I can't describe the overwhelming feeling I get every time I walk on the stage. That energy from the crowd is just contagious, & I get a high from it every time! That, The good Lord above, and of course my son Jace, are what keep me grindin' every day.”

After finding out the men are slave-traders, Mal picks one's pocket and a fight ensues. Marc - Back on Serenity, Inara books a regular client named Atherton Wing for several days. Down on Persephone, Kaylee admires a fluffy pink dress, and Mal offends her by comparing her to "a sheep walkin' on its hind legs.” Mikey - All head back to the ship save Mal and Jayne, who are invited at gunpoint to a business meeting with Badger, who wants them to smuggle cargo for Warwick Harrow, who won’t have anything to do with Badger. He got them a couple of rare invites to a fancy ball at which they can make contact with Harrow. Marc - At the ball, Wing proposes to make Inara his permanent companion on Persephone, and she isn’t quite receptive. Mal arrives with Kaylee on his arm. She is wearing the fluffy pink dress from the shop, and he goes to look for Harrow while she “interrogates” the buffet. Mikey - A group of young ladies is cruel to Kaylee about her dress, and she is rescued by an older gentleman who directs her to a group of men where she leads a rousing discussion about spacecraft and mechanics. Meanwhile, Mal is interrupted while making a bad first impression with Harrow by Atherton Wing and Inara. Mal asks for a dance. Marc - As Mal and Inara dance, wing becomes increasingly jealous, and at the end of the dance seizes her arm to march off. Mal and he get into a verbal altercation, which ends when Atherton says that Inara was bought and paid for, and Mal punches him. Mikey - Atherton publicly accepts this “duel” challenge, and Mal goes along, completely unaware of what’s ensuing. It turns out they’ll be sword fighting to the death at dawn, that Atherton is a master swordsman, and that he’ll be kept in quarters on Persephone to ensure that he doesn’t flee. The only real upside is that Harrow seems to like Mal for hitting Wing. Marc - Back on Serenity, Badger boards the ship with his men to hold the crew on board hostage until the duel is over so they won't attempt to save Mal. Inara sneaks into Mal's room at night and offers a means of escape, but Mal refuses and instead Inara stays to help him practice dueling for the morning. Mal asks her not to stay with Atherton if he dies in the morning. Mikey - On board Serenity, the crew is planning a method of getting around Badger's men when River enters and pretends to be from Badger's home world, criticizing his delusions of social standing and calling him a "sad little king of a sad little hill" before going back to her room. Marc - In the morning, Mal and Atherton duel and it's clear that Atherton is more skilled. He breaks Mal's sword and is about to deliver the death strike when Inara says that she'll stay on Persephone if he lets Mal live. While Atherton is distracted, Mal takes the opportunity to hit him with the hilt of his sword, then taking his unbroken sword and holding Atherton to the ground. After poking him with his sword two times, Mal spares Atherton's life. Mikey - As he recovers, Atherton realizes that Inara never intended to stay with him and threatened to put her out of work. Inara then says that Atherton has earned a black mark in the Companion registry and will never be able to contract with another one; or as Harrow puts, if he wants to court women, he'll have to rely on his "winning personality". Harrow says he will have his cargo on Serenity later that day. Marc - After boarding Serenity, Mal is attended to and Badger's men leave. That night, Inara expresses her gratitude to Mal for standing up for her and says that she wouldn't have accepted Atherton's offer. As Inara remarks, "Why would I want to leave Serenity?" Mal responds "can't think of a reason," and we learn that Harrow's cargo is a herd of cattle. --- Thanks so much for listening. The 21-year-old Lydia Loveless was raised on a family farm in the small rural town of Coshocton, Ohio. Her dad owned a country music bar and she often woke up with a house full of touring musicians scattered on couches and floors. When she got older, in the time-honored traditions of teenage rebellion, she moved to the big city (Columbus, OH) and immersed herself in the punk scene. These two worlds now collide on her debut CD on Bloodshot Records 'Indestructible Machine.' The album combines Lydia's country roots with punk rock candor -- sometimes within the same song.
