“Gold and dollars would have saved you definitely,” says IE Business School professor Daniel Lacalle, referring to the widespread power outage in Spain that also crippled communications and access to water recently. In today's interview, he tells Daniela Cambone that in a crisis like that, electronic fiat money doesn't work. “You go to a store and you have to use this gold ring and you get food. That's for sure.” He also points out that the blackout was caused by politically driven energy policies that overly rely on volatile renewable sources without sufficient backup from stable power sources like nuclear and hydro. “The ideology of energy makes no sense… renewables are left-wing and nuclear is right-wing? That makes no sense.” Additionally, he argues that the attack on cash reflects the elite's effort to tighten social control, referring to a promotional video from the ECB that touted the digital euro's viability even without electricity or internet. Watch the video to learn how you can better prepare for situations like this one. Key Facts: Prof. Lacalle shares behind-the-scenes chaos during Spain's blackout. Why could Spain's massive blackout have been prevented? How can gold and dollars come to the rescue during blackout situations? The ECB's master plan to introduce a digital euro.Could a massive blackout happen in the U.S. too?

Última hora en Herrera en Cope. Estar informado. The global financial system is cracking — and central banks are making it worse. In this episode of Soar Financially, economist Daniel Lacalle explains why inflation is no accident, but a deliberate policy. We discuss the worst debt-adjusted GDP since the 1930s, the trap central banks are in, the collapse of fiat confidence, and the rise of “yuan-ization.” Lacalle breaks down how reckless monetary policy and false optimism have set the stage for a deeper reset.#Gold #Inflation #FiatCollapse------------

In this compelling discussion, NTD News engages with Christian Briggs, economist and CEO of Hard Asset Management, and Daniel Lacalle, chief economist at Tressis, to evaluate the likelihood of a U.S. recession in light of President Trump's proposed tariff plans, including the 25% auto tariffs. The conversation delves into differing perspectives, with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) currently assessing the impact of these tariffs but not forecasting a U.S. recession at this time. Conversely, a recent CNBC survey indicates that 60% of chief financial officers anticipate a recession by late 2025, citing trade disruptions as their primary concern. Briggs and Lacalle explore these contrasting viewpoints, discussing the potential short-term and long-term effects of the tariffs on the U.S. economy, consumer confidence, and the global economic landscape. Their insights provide a nuanced understanding of the complex factors at play and the possible economic trajectories that may unfold.

Andrew Brill welcomes renowned economist Daniel Lacalle, PhD, to discuss the unsustainable trajectory of the U.S. and major global economies, which are already experiencing a private-sector “hidden recession.” Lacalle, Chief Economist at Tressis, unpacks how massive government spending and loose central bank policies are inflating short-term GDP growth while creating long-term risks, including persistent inflation, unmanageable public debt, and debasement and potential loss of confidence in the U.S. dollar, as reflected in the S&P 500 and the price of gold. He highlights the growing disparity between strong headline figures and the struggles faced by everyday citizens, as inflation disproportionately affects the lower and middle class and small businesses. Lacalle advocates for pro-growth private sector policies and warns that only by curbing debt and inflation can a sustainable economic future be secured. Investment Concerns?
