The Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre is a beloved Lancaster experience. The theatre opened in 1967 by Deborah and Thomas Prather. Deborah and her husband Thomas, always dreamed to own a theatre in Lancaster instead of going to Hazleton, Lancaster, and Harrisburg. “So, we designed it, built it off of Route 30 in Lancaster. We wanted to go to Lancaster address because of the tourism industry. And so, after the answer to prayers and lots of wishes from friends and contractors, we opened on April 3rd, 1987, with a production of A Chorus Line, “said Debroah. Will Prather is the son of Thomas and Deborah, and now the Executive Producer of Prather Productions. Initially, he said he did not want to go into the family theater business. “I wanted to do I wanted to go in the hospitality industry. I was very fortunate that I was accepted at Cornell University's hotel school, and I got a great education and learned a lot about business. And then I took a job in the corporate world, and that didn't last very long, “said Will. Shortly after, Debroah asked Will if he wanted to return to the business and take over while she retired in 1993. “36 years later, I'm still here, still running the business, managing growth, managing 300 employees and lots of various challenges that we've encountered as a business. But I've always had the support of my parents. My mom has been incredibly supportive through some really challenging times. But the future is bright for the industry, and I'm just honored to be a second-generation business owner and entrepreneur, “said Will. According to Will, the overall guest experience is what sets the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre apart from other venues in the area. “You know, everything from free parking, which is plentiful to a really terrific meal, very Pennsylvania Dutch local flavors, and then a professional production that is on the caliber of anything else you will see in this community. So, when you bring all those things together and offer them at a valuable price and we also are also really known for our service. We have employees that have been with us from the very, very beginning. We're a very caring operation. We take care of our people and in turn, they take care of our guests who really make the magic happen, “said Will. CLICK HERE to see the upcoming shows from the theatre. Steve and Kim Hricko's marriage was on the rocks. So that is why, on Valentine's Day in 1998, Steve had the idea to take his bride to the Harbourtowne Golf Resort and conference center on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for the night. It was to be a romantic getaway, with food and drinks and even a Dinner Theatre Murder Mystery experience. But by the end of the night, it was not only the Dinner Theatre actor who was dead. Steve Hricko was actually dead, and this was no play. He was murdered while lying in between the beds in the hotel room, on the floor, with a burnt cigar and a Playboy magazine open beside him. And then, the murderer started a fire and burned the room down. Who could have done such a thing? All fingers pointed toward Kim Hricko, Steve's wife. But did she murder her own husband, and why would she do such a thing?Show Notes:https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/an-act-of-murder-linda-rosencrance/1007661657This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/5659010/advertisement

Welcome to https://www.inthekeyofq.com/ (In the Key of Q) the weekly podcast where I chat with inspiring Queer musicians from around the world as they share stories, inspirations and of course their music. Billy Mick released his first single in 2019. He's performed at Pride and Gay Days events. And in America's pandemic lockdown continued to release songs and music videos. The autobiographical studio album Just Be came out in 2020, followed up by the long-player Levelling Up. Billy speaks openly in this episode about the challenges of growing up in a household with a father who was both a drug dealer and a bullying influence on the family home. Eventually, Billy escapes into adulthood and performing dinner theatre and on the stages of https://www.universalorlando.co.uk/ (Universal's theme park) in Florida. A surprise HIV diagnosis eventually leads to hospitalisation and a near-death coma. But emerging from this crisis point Billy's life begins all over again and he goes on to produce some amazing tunes. He is passionate about the queer community, embracing the ethos of https://www.manchesterpride.com/ (Manchester Pride) in the UK. Here he witnessed what he describes as a true community where sub-groups did not disappear into their own silos, and instead mixed and enjoyed each other's strength and power. It's how he feels out community should be. Hey guys so here's the deal. Right NOW, parks are hiring the next park rats for thousands of types of National Park Jobs. Today, we wanted to go in depth on how to get a job as a food service worker in the big three concession companies. A lot of sites will point you to a form on their site, but they almost always redirect to Aramark, Xanterra or Delaware North. So here is what you need to know to get a job and get in the national park that you want to visit. Remember, at the core of this experience the work comes second ;)At the top of this episode we talked a little bit about our OK trip which was ok... not amazing. But definitely pretty memorable. Sorry to the poor saps in rural Oklahoma. We start talking about how to get a park job at 16:52 There are of 25,000 jobs open for you to be the perfect fit. These include Culinary, Grill Cooks, Food Service Workers, Bar Back and Bartender, Hostesses/ Hosts, Guest Services, Barista, Cocktail Server, Busser, and even Dinner Theatre?!?Make sure you pick one that is hourly or seasonal and don't get trapped with a vague title or you'll be stuck washing dishes like our boi Kyle.To find a job that fits you, go here: Aramark, Xanterra.Do some research on the restaurant you really want to work in. Here is a good place to start. We compiled a few tips on how to survive in the craziness of the national park job hunt. Apply for multiple positions at the same locationHave a back up park in mindApply in the spring (now)Lie on your resumeAlways say you can work the entire summerPrepare to be working as early as MayIf you get to the parks early you have better opportunities for a better jobBe patient. There are a bunch of applications each year and they have to sort through them all. They may take a month to message you backDon't be afraid to ask for a better position or schedule when at the parkExpect to be busy at work (parks are more populated than ever)Request time off in advanceBe prepared for dorm style livingYou will most likely have one to two roommatesThey will probably give you a recommended packing list when you get hiredPlan on showing up early on your check in day so you can get settledDON'T SKIP ORIENTATION It is mandatory and you may have to wait a week to start working (or maybe that's what you want to do)Pack for cold weather no matter the parkIf you are under 21 be smart You are not working for NPS you are working for a large company (Which has its pros and cons) but if you are fired you can be kicked out of the park. As soon as you are not an employee you are a tourist and have to abide by the parks rulesGirls, be smart and be safe. Most park employees are great people and interesting characters but there are creeps. Companies have a strict sexual harassment policy but things will slide under the radar. Don't be afraid to call someone out. It is always smart to be in a groupAll this and more will soon be on a cheat sheet accessible to you all so stay tuned!Until next time....PEEACEEEE!!!!!

Welcome to the third episode of our show called 'Creature Feature Dinner Theatre' which will star hosts the married team of Patty and Cameron Scott. Cameron and Patty met 11 years ago at the Cinema Wasteland Movie & Memorabilia Expo, so not only was it love at first sight but both parties knew the others love for the horror genre was genuine. Which brings us to our show today. The Creature Feature Dinner Theater will not only feature nasty monsters, sharks, wild animals, aliens, creatures, goblins and ghouls...but we will also be concocting a special drink and/or meal to go with the movie for the evening. For our third feature we are bringing you the 2015 horror comedy "LLAMAGEDDON" and with a title like that you just know it has got to be crazy. This time we are trying out a different format and doing this show as a full length feature commentary track with its own follow along drinking game! Also, don't forget to join us in the after party for the recipe for our special "Llama Goo" adult beverage as the finisher. Leave the kids at home and enjoy responsibly!

Another off the cuff episode. This week on the podcast, TnT consider rebranding, again, with a third, new name. Which name should they chose? Major League Baseball, the KC Royals, Cleveland Indians, Salvador Perez, Mike Moustakas and the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Netflix is killin' it right now. "History of Swear Words" is definitely a prerequisite for TnT podcast listeners. A change in perspective is sometimes all one needs. Why faking orgasms is a bad idea. Men are bad liars. Once you tell a lie on that thing you've got to tell that thing forever. Let's face it, once you hit 40 you're not going to remember the lie anyway. Which is more sophisticated? A Monster truck rally or a Dinner Theatre in a Strip Mall? Finally, Tana talks about poo!!! If you are a human you are pooping. And does anyone still have Bert Kreischer's number? Big T believes Bert is little t's spirit guide. Please like, subscribe, share and all the things via your favorite listening platform. Prior to graduation, Bowman toured with the hit musical Fame in China, and performed as Rizzo in Grease in Turkey. She was also a performer with the Young Columbians. Shortly following that, Bowman returned to the states as Lady of the Lake in the Spamalot national tour. Very shortly after the Spamalot tour and her move to New York City, Bowman was offered an ensemble role in Wicked, understudying Elphaba. Bowman left Wicked to take part in originating a new musical Kinky Boots in 2013, but Bowman left Kinky Boots shortly after its Broadway premiere to join the Evita national tour as Eva Peron in 2013. Almost immediately following the conclusion of the Evita tour in October 2014, Bowman was offered the starring role of Elphaba in Wicked, beginning December 16, 2014, replacing Christine Dwyer in the role. However, in late February, it was announced that due to an injury Bowman sustained, Christine Dwyer was brought back for a limited four-week engagement as Elphaba. Jennifer DiNoia was also brought back for a limited time, until Bowman returned to the show in early April. On August 18, 2015, it was announced that Bowman will be departing Wicked (musical) in mid-September, with Rachel Tucker replacing her. From April 30 – May 8, 2016, Bowman reprised her role as Eva Perón in the Vancouver Opera's production of Evita, replacing the previously announced Jenn Colella. As part of the celebrations for the 45th anniversary of the Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts, Bowman was a narrator in a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Toby's Dinner Theatre. It was announced on May 7, 2019 that Bowman will play Elsa in the national tour of Frozen. On today's episode, I had the chance to speak with Assistant Director of Tourism, Amanda Livingston about some great things going on in Abingdon, Virginia. Like many areas in Southwest Virginia and all across the nation Abingdon has suffered from the COVID19 pandemic. As a thriving tourist town, this small community hasn't let current day struggles interrupt their stride. Creative and innovative are just two terms to describe how this community has come together to keep businesses open and the economy going. One such creative feat is the use of the old Moonlite Drive-in theatre as a stage to perform live shows from the Barter Theatre. Since social distance is practically impossible inside the actual Barter Theatre, creative-minded members came together for the one-of-a-kind idea. Build a stage outdoors, have space for cars to park, and perform live under the stars! Not only does this allow for guests to continue being able to enjoy Barter Theatre performances, but also to once again re-live childhood memories in front of the silver screen once again. Abingdon's local eateries were also steadfast in coming up with plans to keep their doors open and provide their wonderful meals to the town. From outdoor dining, to take out, and even some offering delivery. Some local restaurants are even taking part in the Barter Theatre event in a "Play with your food" event the town is holding. The idea is to enjoy a nice meal from a local restaurant and then go see one of the Barter plays at the Moonlite. Guests can go grab their meal and eat it while enjoying the play, sounds like a great plan! Dinner Theatre if you will! Even though things have been limited, the spirit of the town is still alive and well. Abingdon has so many fun things to offer from outdoor recreation, downtown shopping, and dining, entertainment, and even self-guided tours! Rather you have never been to Abingdon before, or you're looking to go back and visit again, there's never a dull time to go. If you want to find out more about Abingdon, please visit their website and Facebook page for more information! This week, after some news about Galaxy's Edge, your good boys set about on the challenge to create some exciting dinner theatre for the guests of the Mysterious Kingdom. First up, Jim invites patrons into The Sqauwk Show, a late night type of talk show featuring a barely functioning wizard, a talking bird, and a range of zany guests. Then, Scottye tasks hungry folks to not only find the entrance to his show, but also not succumb to the sweet persausions of The Society Of The Enlightened Beings. If Disney's Animal Kingdom isn't a zoo, then boy howdy these folks are absolutely not a cult.
