Before walking onto a stage, there's always a certain amount of self-talk. For years, a colleague and I would encourage each other with a simple pep talk before a concert—something to sharpen our focus and concentration. Coaches do the same before athletic events. These moments are designed to build confidence, motivation, and clarity. Today's message is a kind of pep talk as well—a reminder to realign with what truly matters: our values, purpose, and the life we're intentionally creating. At halftime of life, we are often given a unique opportunity: the chance to reassess, realign, and intentionally create a next chapter based not on pressure or performance, but on purpose and values. This stage of life is not about starting over from zero. It is about building wisely from everything already accumulated—skills, experience, relationships, wisdom, resilience, and perspective. What does it take to move from mere survival to building a life of purpose, impact, and lasting success? In this episode of The Power of After, we explore the extraordinary journey of Charles van Kessler—a man whose life began in unimaginable hardship during World War II, surviving the Holocaust. After losing his entire family as a toddler and surviving years of severe malnutrition, orphanage life, and even the streets of Amsterdam, Charles made a promise that if he survived, he would dedicate his life to helping children facing similar suffering. Decades later, that promise became a mission-driven business and nonprofit dedicated to serving children in desperate situations. But this story is about more than survival—it's about resilience, discipline, and the principles that helped Charles remain mentally sharp, purpose-focused, and determined through every season of life. We'll discuss how those principles became the foundation not only for personal healing, but for building a business that fuels a greater mission. Have you ever had a dream that wouldn't quite leave you alone? Not a fleeting idea. Not a New Year's resolution. A dream that keeps quietly tapping you on the shoulder, year after year, even as life gets busy. In this solo episode of It's a Mindset, Emma explores why so many women put their dreams on hold while they focus on everyone else. From careers and caring responsibilities to being the "good girl" and meeting expectations, it's easy to lose sight of what we truly want. Emma shares her own journey of following dreams that once felt impossible - leaving a 25-year corporate career, writing an award-winning and bestselling book, launching a podcast, travelling the world, hosting sound healing events, and now finding herself drawn towards a new possibility: yoga teacher training. This episode is an invitation to pause, reflect and ask yourself a powerful question: What dream have you put on hold? If you've been feeling restless, stuck, unfulfilled, or like there's something more waiting for you, this conversation is for you. As Emma shares in Worthy & Wealthy, true abundance begins with understanding who you are, what you want and having the courage to take the next step. And perhaps your next step starts today. Key Episode Takeaways: Why so many women put their dreams on hold while prioritising everyone else's needs Why the "good girl" conditioning can keep women playing small Why your next chapter doesn't need to be dramatic to be meaningful Three powerful questions to help you reconnect with what you truly want Why permission, support and accountability are often the missing ingredients for change How to recognise when you're ready for your next chapter Journal Prompts Take some time to reflect on these questions: ✨ What dream have I put on hold? ✨ Why did I put it on hold? ✨ What would happen if I finally gave myself permission to pursue it? ✨ If nothing changed over the next five years, how would I feel? At some point in every career—often at mid-career or halftime of life—we pause and ask a simple but powerful question: What's next? Many professionals today have tremendous experience, skills, and wisdom, yet they also feel uncertainty as technology, especially artificial intelligence, reshapes the way we create and work. I've asked myself the same question I hear from others: How do I use AI without losing my voice or the value of my experience, especially as a creative? The truth is that AI isn't just another tech trend—it can become a creative partner. When used thoughtfully, even basic AI tools can help you expand ideas, refine your message, repurpose content, and bring new projects to life faster than ever before. The key insight is this: AI doesn't replace your creativity—it amplifies it. In today's episode, we'll explore how creativity with AI can help fuel your next big chapter. Making Time for Your Next Chapter — mitchmatthews.com/time (free with code H2LEADERSHIP) In this episode, Alan Briggs sits down with Mitch Matthews — coach, speaker, and host of the Dream Think Do podcast — for a conversation that feels less like an interview and more like two coaches getting honest with each other over coffee. Mitch is the CEO of a training organization focused on helping executives, entrepreneurs, and founders define what success actually means to them — and then build a plan to go after it. What unfolds is a wide-ranging, practical, and genuinely fun dialogue about dreams, the questions that unlock them, the questions that shut people down, and what it looks like to lead well in a moment of historic change. If you've ever locked up when someone asked you what your big dream is — or if you've watched someone else lock up when you asked them — this episode is going to reframe how you think about that conversation entirely. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Mitch's origin story — from a 12-year-old loitering at a bike shop in Iowa to discovering his life's calling at a Schwinn Selling School at 14 Why Mitch calls his work "success coaching" instead of life or executive coaching — and why that distinction matters The Dream Think Do framework — why dreaming has to come before thinking, and why most people start strategizing too early Why the question "what's your big dream?" actually shuts people down — and the better questions to ask instead The power of the word "might" — and how one small word change opens up possibilities that pressure closes off What semantic interference is and why it matters for every leader, coach, mentor, and manager in the room The story of the first Big Dream Gathering — how a product nightmare in 2006 became a movement now happening on college campuses and corporate retreats across the country Why dreams have seasons — and how to tell the difference between a dream that isn't right and a dream that just isn't right yet How the best leaders are navigating AI — standing in the tension of what's scary and what's possible at the same time Why AI is actually making people hunger for real human connection — and what that means for coaches and leaders Alan and Mitch coach each other live on the question "what do you want?" — and what makes a great clarifying question great Reflection Questions: What's something you want to experience more often — and what would it take to give yourself permission to pursue it? Are you dreaming before you think, or are you jumping straight to strategy before you've given yourself enough space to imagine? Where in your leadership are you standing in the tension between what's scary and what's possible? Free Resource from Mitch: Mitch put together a training called Making Time for Your Next Chapter — built specifically for high achievers who want to figure out what's next but feel like they don't have the time to even think about it. Have you ever wondered what comes next… when the life you've built no longer feels like the life you want? In this episode of It's a Mindset, I'm joined by Robyn Greaves - a highly regarded career change specialist and coach who has worked across some of the world's most recognised organisations including BHP, Apple, Woolworths and Westpac. Robyn brings a thoughtful, practical and deeply human approach to navigating career and life transitions, particularly in what she calls our “third chapter.” Together, we explore what it really means to step into this next phase of life - not as an ending, but as an opportunity to create something meaningful, fulfilling and entirely your own. This conversation resonated with me on such a deep level. The idea of a “third chapter” feels incredibly aligned with where so many of us find ourselves in midlife - reflecting, recalibrating, and asking bigger questions about who we are and how we want to spend our time. It's also why I'm so passionate about the work I do and why I'm about to launch The Next Chapter Collective - a space designed to help you reconnect with who you are, what you want, and how to move forward with intention. If you've ever felt that quiet nudge that there's more available to you… this episode will speak to you. Key Episode Takeaways: Why your “third chapter” (your 50s and 60s) can be one of the most powerful and fulfilling stages of life The importance of creativity and curiosity for healthy ageing and ongoing growth How this phase is less about achievement and more about contribution and meaning Why time isn't as guaranteed as we think - and the importance of choosing how you want to spend it About the Guest: Robyn Greaves is a highly regarded career change specialist and coach with a background in senior leadership development and organisational change across BHP, Apple, Woolworths and Westpac. She is recognised for her thoughtful, practical and deeply human approach to late-career transition, helping experienced professionals create an epic third chapter. You were born with intuition. The question isn't whether you have it. It's whether you've learned to hear it — and whether you trust it when you do. This week I'm going deep on one of my favorite topics. What intuition actually is, how it shows up differently for different people, and how to start working with yours in a real and practical way. I also talk about where people get it wrong — including some things I wish more women knew before they go opening themselves up to just... anything. There's a difference between trusting your inner knowing and doing things you're not trained for. We talk about both. This is the kind of work we go deep on inside Your Next Chapter. But this episode is a good place to start. 3 Things You'll Take Away: How you personally receive intuition. Do you hear it, see it, feel it, or just know it? Understanding your own channel changes everything.Where intuition is safe and where to be careful. Your inner knowing is always safe to trust. Opening yourself up to everything else is a different conversation. How to practice it. When you're most receptive, what conditions help, and why effort is the one thing that will shut it down. ⏰ Timestamps (00:00) Intuition, self-trust, and why this matters right now (02:00) Your Next Chapter — starting April 14th (06:00) Growing up intuitive — Robyn's earliest memories (08:00) Where faith and intuition intersect (and why it gets tricky) (11:00) The divine dialogue — prayer, contemplation, and the unseen (15:00) Intuition as a natural sense — not a scary thing (23:00) Clairaudience, clairvoyance, and the many ways we receive (27:00) How to find your channel — where and when you're most receptive (30:00) Why some places shut your intuition down (32:00) When to be careful — and what "just opening up" actually means (39:00) The protective side of intuitive work (43:00) Where we start inside Your Next Chapter — low stakes, high trust (46:00) You can't effort your way to intuition (54:00) Why this skill matters especially right now (56:00) Ask Me and My Intuition Anything — monthly live event
In this inspiring and energizing conversation, Wendy sits down with success coach, keynote speaker, and Dream Think Do host Mitch Matthews to talk about what it really takes to go after your dreams in midlife. From giving yourself permission to start small to letting go of perfectionism, people-pleasing, and the pressure to have it all figured out, this episode is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to begin again. If you've been craving more purpose, novelty, courage, or clarity in your next chapter, this conversation will light a fire under you—in the best way. What You'll Learn: Why asking “What's your dream?” can actually keep you stuck How to give yourself permission to start small and take messy action Why midlife is the perfect time to explore a new dream or next chapter How 15 minutes a day can create momentum, confidence, and real change The difference between burnout and “bored out”—and how novelty can help
We all have a version of this story. Something happens. We get caught. We get embarrassed. And instead of owning it — we make it worse. This week I'm recording from Miami with a true story that illustrates exactly that. It's funny. It's human. And it's a perfect example of what our saboteurs look like in real life — and what it costs us when we let them run the show. I also get honest about my own version of this. A moment from the last few months where I let my saboteurs take the wheel — and what the real work of repair actually looked like after. This is the kind of thing we go deep on inside Your Next Chapter. But today you get the real-life version, live from Miami, with all the mess included. 3 Things You'll Take Away: What your saboteurs actually look like in action. Not in theory, in a real story, with real consequences. You'll recognize yourself in this one. What repair really requires. It's more than an apology. It's a practice. And it's something you can learn. Why doing this work matters beyond you. When our saboteurs run unchecked, other people pay the price. Send us a textFeeling successful on paper but disconnected from your work at mid-career? You are not alone. In this episode, I sit down with Mitch Matthews, success coach and host of the Dream Think Do podcast, to unpack what real career change looks like when you stop waiting for permission and start creating it yourself. We talk candidly about that moment when you are busy, accomplished, and respected, yet no longer energized by the work you are doing. Mitch shares a powerful personal story about accepting a promotion that looked perfect on paper but felt wrong almost immediately. Instead of making a reckless leap, he honored his responsibilities while quietly building a new path through small, intentional experiments. This conversation is especially relevant if you are a mid-career professional seeking greater career clarity, questioning what is next, or feeling stuck in a job that no longer fits. We explore how progress does not require a dramatic exit or a master plan. It requires permission, curiosity, and consistent action. In this episode, you will learn:Why permission at mid-career is an internal decision, not something granted by a boss or organizationHow small, low-risk experiments can help you test new career directions without blowing up your current roleThe 15-minute rule and how five short blocks a week can compound into more than 60 hours of focused progress each yearWhy the safest place to explore new ideas is often outside the high-stakes environment of your day jobWhat it looks like to lead without having all the answers and why saying “I don't know, let's figure it out together” builds trustHow to use AI as a practical thinking partner instead of a buzzword or replacement for judgmentWhy automation is increasing the value of authenticity, clarity, and human leadershipHow to spot perfectionism when it is disguising itself as procrastinationWhy starting small and messy creates more durable career change than waiting for the perfect planMitch is also sharing his free training, Finding Time for Your Next Chapter, designed to help you carve out focused time for what matters most in this stage of your career.Access it at mitchmathews.com/time and use coupon code GPS for free access.Connect with Mitch MatthewsWebsite | LinkedIn | Support the showVisit https://johnneral.com/resources to: Subscribe to my free leadership and career newsletter Get The Mid-Career Clarity Code to help you figure out whatever is next for you and your career Please leave a rating and review on Apple Podcasts here. In this episode of The Robyn Ivy Podcast, Robyn is joined by master organizer and founder of Clean Sweep Consulting, Jen Heard, for a heartfelt and eye-opening conversation about what our stuff really says about us—and how letting go can open the door to something far more meaningful. This means shifting not just habits, but self-belief. • Community changes everything: You don't have to navigate transitions alone. Honest reflection, grounded tools, and a timely reminder: You don't have to wait for January. Your next chapter starts now.
In today's episode, Courtney dives into a theme that came up repeatedly with her clients this week: wanting to make a change, but not actually doing it.What You'll Hear in This Episode:Why women often put themselves last—and how our “primitive brain” keeps us stuck in waiting mode. The myth of perfect timing: Why “when things slow down” is never the real answer. The role of resistance: Why even the things you deeply want will feel hard in the moment. How to create a compelling why that excites you enough to overcome obstacles.Practical strategies to move from intention to action:Decide exactly when you'll do the thing.Anticipate the excuses and resistance in advance.Take decisions off your plate ahead of time to make follow-through easier.Real-life client stories on wanting to create more art, grow businesses, or get healthier—and the mindset shifts that helped them take action.Courtney's own example of finally updating her business website after two and a half years of delay, and how following her own advice helped her stop waiting.Key TakeawayWanting something isn't enough. To actually do it, you need a clear why, a plan for resistance, and small daily actions that build momentum. The good news? You don't have to wait for a milestone or the “perfect time.” You get to decide—today—that this is your next chapter.Links & ResourcesSign up for Courtney's free webinar: Your Next Chapter → https://mailchi.mp/a793710c0ecf/yournextchapterInterested in speaking with me about how we can work together? True success, as we're reminded, is not measured by titles or wealth but by walking with Jesus and knowing our names are written in the Book of Life.Listen in and be encouraged to dream bigger, plan wisely, trust deeper, and step boldly into your next chapter—knowing that with God, your success is secure.

New Levels, New Devils: Are You Ready to Fight for Your Next Chapter? At any point in your life, you can grab the pen and start writing a new chapter. You are the lead character in your story, and this year doesn't have to look like the last. But here's the truth: New levels bring new devils. Every time you aim higher, challenges will meet you at the gate. The real question is—are you still hungry enough to fight for it? In this episode, I'm breaking down what it really takes to level up—not just in your goals, but in your standards, your habits, and the language you speak to yourself. You don't get your goals—you get your standards. And until you change those, you'll keep circling the same mountain, year after year. We'll talk about how to set an accelerator habit—one habit that acts like a domino, knocking down every other barrier in your life. You'll also learn the importance of being around people who challenge your comfort zone and why the voices you allow into your life will determine your results. And finally, I'll challenge you to stop letting the background actors—those people who aren't even in your life's main story—hold you back from stepping fully into your purpose. Here's what you'll take away: Why new levels always come with new devils and how to prepare for them. The critical difference between goals and standards—and which one shapes your future. How to identify your accelerator habit to create unstoppable momentum. The life-changing power of speaking your goals out loud and changing your internal narrative. Why comfort zones are your biggest enemy and how to break free from them. This isn't just about success—it's about knowing yourself on a deeper level. Because when it's all said and done, the ultimate victory is looking in the mirror and recognizing the person staring back at you. It's time to grab the pen, turn the page, and write a new chapter. Let's go!. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Forcing gratitude never works, but your spirit might be telling you that it's time to stop and take care of YOU! Sonia T. knows that when she starts feeling resentful about filling up the water jug, it's time to stop giving everything she possibly can to her partner and start asking for some help. You may not be able to control everything that is happening around you (especially during the holidays!) but you can control how you are treating yourself. Take time for walks outside, give yourself permission to laugh, and dodge the drama that might be heading your way. Real talk: a strong personal brand can act as a protective moat for your business.Apple? Stronger because of the Steve Jobs brand.Tesla? Better known because of Elon Musk.Spanx? Iconic because of Sara Blakely.Yes. It's that important. But here's the deal: even high-achieving entrepreneurs struggle with impostor syndrome. In this one-of-a-kind episode, host of the Out of the Clouds podcast, Anne V Mühlethaler, is the ‘guest,' this time being interviewed by her friend, podcast host and journalist Etain Lavelle. Anne shares in her introduction that Etain is like extended family to her. They became friends in their twenties and shared a flat on London's Gloucester Road for a few years. Etain was the best person to interview Anne for this special episode. In this conversation, Etain dives into Anne's life journey, asking about her childhood memories and her unconventional education. Anne explains how she found herself settling into a retail career at Christian Louboutin, which was then a small label, after abandoning her pursuit at a music career. She also recounts the outset of what ended up as a seventeen-year stint at the now global shoe brand. Later, Anne talks about the vision behind her coaching, consulting and storytelling practice and the genesis of her podcast Out of the Clouds, before talking about why being consistent in communication is just as essential as choosing the right platforms for a brand. The two discuss successes and lessons learned from difficulties at home during Anne's teenage years. They reflect how her past put her on the path that she is on, though, leading her to become a mindfulness meditation teacher. It's an emotional topic for Anne, who fights back tears as she reveals the intimate connection between the two. To conclude, Etain and Anne discuss language, their favourite books, how their travels have changed them, and the importance of trusting the process. A unique interview that offers a glimpse into Anne's backstory. Preparing for marriage is a unique time in which couples often navigate a lot of important decisions together. This extends far beyond the joy (and stress) of wedding planning– you are planning a household and a life together! This could mean rearranging your finances, moving, family planning, and a lot of other potential changes for both of you. Not to mention navigating different cultural backgrounds, personalities, and families of origin. It's a lot! Couples often idealize engagement as a particularly romantic period, which it can be! With that being said, it's also a HUGE transition, so give yourself some grace. Patricia thought it would be fun to chat with Katie about her unique engagement experience! Katie DePaola Silverman is an entrepreneur, author, speaker and mental health advocate. In 2015, she founded Inner Glow Circle, with the mission of providing alternative education for thousands of women to become certified coaches and use their lived experiences for the betterment of others. Through IGC, Katie built the first all-women, all-online accredited coach training course, helping thousands start businesses of their own. She is a founding member of Bo's Effort, a foundation started in honor of her late brother Bo, and a board member of Building Traditions Society at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation. In her bestselling book, At Least You Look Good: Learning to Glow Through What You Go Through, Katie shares her most vulnerable and often funny reflections on how to deal with the hardest parts of life—and her best advice for people who want to “glow through what they go through.” Katie is a fierce mental health advocate, who built her business amidst challenging times, growing from a self-funded startup to a multi-million dollar business. She has been featured in TIME, Entrepreneur and Forbes, as well as over 60 podcasts.
