On today's episode, we chat with Todd Terry! Todd's latest project, Disciples in the Moonlight, is out now! Todd Terry, a native of Dallas, began his entertainment career more than 35 years ago. He studied theater at The National Youth Theater of Great Britain, American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and Professional Actors Conservatory in Los Angeles. He is currently filming his fourth season as the lead in the episodic series Vindication. He can also be seen in the upcoming films The Senior, Unbreakable Boy, and DISCIPLES IN THE MOONLIGHT. Upcoming TV projects include the comedy series “Fairwood” and the Mike Rowe's series “The Way I Heard It.” Additional film credits include Jesus Revolution, Five Feet Apart, Unplanned, Beyond The Farthest Star, Because Of Gracia, Arlington Road, and Walking Tall II. Todd has co-starred in several network television movies of the week and co-starred or recurred in numerous shows including “Breaking Bad,” “Better Call Saul,” “Walker: Texas Ranger” and “Friday Night Lights.” About Disciples in the Moonlight: In the not-too-distant future, the United States has banned the Bible for its “offensiveness” and replaced it with a government-approved version. A small group of Christians are recruited to smuggle God's Word to underground churches throughout the Midwest. With a ruthless federal agent in hot pursuit, the believers must choose between following the law or honoring and trusting God. disciplesinthemoonlightmovie.com @disciplesinthemoonlight @toddterryactor christianmusicguys.com @christianmusicguys
Arlington Road was 77th highest grossing movie of 1999, released 25 years ago last week on July 9th, unfortunately crowded out by some other big releases, namely American Pie, released the same day, as well as Wild Wild West, Tarzan, and The General's Daughter, all in their second weeks. Directed by acclaimed music video director Mark Pellington (Pearl Jam's "Jeremy"), with a script from future Oscar nominee Ehren Kruger. a score by David Lynch's personal composer Angelo Badalamenti, and starring two of the finest actors of their generation, Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins, Arlington Road has a lot going for it. 25 years later, it's also turned out to be one of the most prescient and relevant movies of the year. At times unbearably tense, deadly serious, and eye-rollingly goofy, it's ambitious, uneven, and incredibly entertaining. Lawyer, occasional movie producer, and writer Matt Belenky is probably the world's most biggest Arlington Road fan (prove us wrong!), so John and Jenn invited him on to look back on this very 1990s genre film. Find Matt on Twitter @JagrWatch68
First up, Shane laments about his inability to find "Arlington Road" on a streaming service to re-visit the film, and see if he still enjoys it as much as he remembers. He does address the writer and director, and the projects they have worked on that he enjoys, and why he thinks that contributed to his enjoyment of that film. Then, Shane breaks down the definitive sex-comedy of the 1990s, and what he believes makes this film so enjoyable and relatable to anyone who saw it when it was released. The nostalgia pours out as Shane discusses this film, and what it meant to him in 1999.

Our appearance on William Ramsey's show discussing Arlington Road, a 1999 thriller about domestic terrorism. We show how the film projects the tactics of intelligence services onto the militia movement, resulting in intense misdirection regarding events like Oklahoma City and Ruby Ridge. We also examine the predictably sus credits of the filmmakers, the hints of mind control themes, and the film's overall attempt to undermine social trust and foster the wrong kind of paranoia. https://www.williamramseyinvestigates.com/https://twitter.com/WilliamRamseyInhttps://twitter.com/CinemaPsyophttps://www.patreon.com/PsyopCinemahttp://psyop-cinema.com/https://linktr.ee/psyopcinemathomas-psyopcinema@protonmail.combrett-psyopcinema@protonmail.com

On March 25th, a campaign launched in Bridgetown in Nova Scotia (within Mi'kma'ki) called Save Our Old Forests (SOOF). As is written in their excellent pamphlet: "Saving old forests in Annapolis County is something we can do locally that will have a global effect." and "We need to protect the best of what is left, for the health of nature, yes, but for our health, too, and for the health of our economy." Find out more about the SOOF through this episode, which includes some clips of the recordings from the speakers at this standing-room-only event, and features a conversation afterwards with a spokesperson for the campaign, Rob Bright.Hear about the story and evolution of a small group of people finding solutions, and about the actions we can each take as individuals to make a difference for the health of our forests. Join us in contemplating the ownership and management of "crown land" and some root causes and challenges behind our current forest crises.Rob Bright spent the early part of his career working with street youth in downtown Toronto before becoming a social researcher studying harm reduction with injection drug users. After several years Rob switched things up and went to chef school. It was there that he found a passion in following food from farm to table, and learning about where food comes from. Rob and his wife, Laura, made the move to Hampton, on the North Mountain, in 2018 to follow their dream of growing and raising their own food. Once the gardens were built and the hens started laying, Rob turned his attention to the clearcutting that is hidden not far from the side of the roads. He became involved with a small group of concerned neighbours to help raise funds to save a forest on Arlington Road. This evolved into the Arlington Forest Protection Society of which Rob is the current Vice-President.EPISODE RESOURCES:Arlington Forest Protection Society (review the actions you can take, and find the petition)Save Our Old Forests Facebook and Instagram hashtag #saveouroldforests

Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we talk about movie stars! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones that they made in between. Today we get to talk to the immensely-talented Mark Pellington, the filmmaker behind hits like Arlington Road and The Mothman Prophecies, some of the best music videos ever made, some of the weirdest, coolest stuff ever on MTV, and a slew of other interesting, powerful pieces of work. He's re-cut (and really remade) his directorial debut Going All The Way, starring Jeremy Davies and Ben Affleck, adapted from the Dan Wakefield novel of the same name. Going All The Way: The Director's Edit is currently screening at Brain Dead Studios & Laemmle Glendale in Los Angeles, and will open on Dec. 16th at Quad Cinema in New York with rollout to follow. Visit this link for more info. We discuss everything with Pellington, from his remaking his first feature to his own B-Sides Henry Poole Is Here and I Melt With You. There's talk of his extremely personal short doc Fathers Daze, his Quibi show Survive and the upcoming feature film version. Pellington tells us why he still likes to discover movies on cable, why he'd like to re-cut Henry Poole Is Here if given the chance, and why there is so much flat cinematography & aesthetic sameness in the streaming age. Finally, he tells us a bit about his hopefully-upcoming Magnum Opus Memory Epic Clang. Fingers crossed on the making of that film! This is one of our most in-depth conversations with a filmmaker so far, and we encourage you to listen good and seek out all that Pellington's done. Be sure to give us a follow on Twitter and Facebook at @TFSBSide. Also enter our giveaways, get access to our private Slack channel, and support new episodes by becoming a Patreon contributor. Welcome back to the Rock 'n Roll Ghost Podcast. On this week's episode, the Ghost speaks with filmmaker Mark Pellington (Going All the Way, Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies, Survive). Pellington discusses his work turning the short form series Survive, produced for the now defunct Quibi, into a long form film, as well as the upcoming video release of his first feature film, Going All the Way starring Ben Affleck, Rose McGowan, Jeremy Davies and Rachel Weisz in November. Additionally he gives us a look into the art he's been enjoying lately. Links: Mark Pellington --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/brett-hickman/support
No real difference of opinion this week as Matt and Jason could not agree more. Emily the Criminal (2022) is a movie to highly recommend and Arlington Road from 1999 is utterly stupid! Listen to see how it all played out! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/matthew-ulrich/message

From 1996, he has performed as a solo electronic music producer under a number of aliases including the multi-genre Elite Force. Widely recognized as one of the leading proponents of the emergent Tech-Funk movement, fusing house, breakbeat and electro. He has toured the world as a DJ, many times over playing big club rooms and festivals. Simon and I spoke about project management tools, self-care, his new production work, which he describes as emotive electronica and his new live show. The state will provide $2.25 million from its budget for the expansion, but groups behind the program are asking for $9 million more for further growth.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ohio had the 10th worst infant mortality rate in the nation during 2020, at 6.53 deaths per 1,000 births.Spearheaded by CelebrateOne, a public-private partnership backed by the city of Columbus, the project had positive results. There were fewer fetal deaths, less Medicaid spending and shorter stays at newborn intensive care units for those who received housing. But the study sample was not big enough. That's why a second iteration is being put into motion, with the goal of housing 300 women across Columbus, Akron, Dayton and Cincinnati. Currently, the initial $2.25 million will only cover 60 women in Columbus and 30 in Akron with a starting date in the summerLink to programSource: Beacon JournalSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/akron-podcast/donations

PUBLIC VERSION. In the second part of our expansive conversation with acclaimed filmmaker Mark Pellington (ARLINGTON ROAD, THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES, PEARL JAM's "Jeremy" music video) Mark rejoins Adam, Joe & Arwen to continue discussing his wide and varied career with a focus on the feature film and TV side of his work. Including amazing anecdotes on the making of films such as his first feature GONG ALL THE WAY (which he is currently painstakingly restoring)... to the trials of studio storytelling with ARLINGTON ROAD (starring Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins)... to insightful tales of making THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES (starring Richard Gere). Mark also goes into frank, emotional detail on the sudden death of his wife in 2003 (a tragedy that he calls “the end of that part of my life”) and how friends, family, therapy and his own work served as healing. We also discuss how his new experimental music/dance feature THE SEVERING helped him reconnect to the world. Dr. Arwen takes this week off of "Hollywood Therapy" but Mark provides plenty of therapeutic discussion on how to work through tragedy as well as plenty of tips and tricks on directing actors and crew.
It's the new millennium, Y2K didn't kill you, or maybe it did.. and this is all a twilight zone episode. This is the only part of the Scream trilogy not to be written by Kevin Williamson. Ehren Kruger (writer of the film Arlington Road, who would later go on to write the screenplays for The Ring, The Ring Two, The Skeleton Key, and Rings) was given the task of writing the script based on notes Williamson himself had sketched out. Scream 3 delivers an end to the original trilogy with a big reveal. It was only speculation up to this point that Sidney had siblings or other family members. Which, still begs the question, will Scream 6 invite more of her long-lost family members? Wes Craven continued to make this series a true Meta in its class. The awareness this movie has is only behind movies that incorporate 4th wall inserts and other additions. The making of Stab 3 gives a great excuse to invite a new batch of characters that don't need a lot of substance. Gale's Actor portrays the perfect yin to her yang. An almost picture-perfect sister annoying sister interaction. The idea of the killer following multiple scripts, making everyone constantly guess, sounds good on paper. My only issue was the legacy characters didn't seem to have any issue surviving. Yes, Sidney was shot, but it's obvious she would wear a vest. They were too powerful for a Thanos-like antagonist who controlled the outcome of a trilogy. The series ties up any loose ends that could bring Ghostface back...or does it? Obviously, nothing ever really ends --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/drekculazunderworld/support

From the Press Release:Hunting Bigfoot Opens at Shelton Cinemas; Friday, November 12.The film's star, John Green, will attend the Saturday, November 13, 7 pm screening and take part in a post-screening Q & A.When filmmaker Taylor Guterson (Old Goats, Burkholder) initially contemplated his fourth feature film he knew two things “I wanted to film predominantly outdoors in the Northwest and John Green was going to star in it.”A Northwest native, Guterson loves the outdoors and realized “the natural beauty of this region would give a movie a visual appeal and production value well beyond anything money could buy.” Guterson had worked with Green before, having cast him in a small role in a previous film in which Green made a definite impression, “After the first take of the first scene John was in, I knew this was someone I could build a feature film around” Guterson recalls. The film which ultimately emerged, Hunting Bigfoot, is a compelling drama (which includes a healthy dose of humor) about a man obsessed by an all-consuming quest to verify the existence of a Sasquatch he claims to have witnessed. The film introduces the audience to the Bigfoot subculture, featuring interviews with people recounting their Bigfoot encounters and appearances by recognized Bigfoot authorities. But, as Green observes, “the film is about a lot more than Bigfoot. It's about a human being searching for meaning in his life. That's what gives it a universal appeal.”Hunting Bigfoot is being released by Xenon Pictures. Leigh Savidge, Xenon CEO and an Academy Award nominee for his screenwriting work on Straight Outta' Compton, is one of the film's Executive Producers, as is Tom Gorai, whose producing credits include Outsourced, Nostalgia, and Arlington Road. The film's unique distribution strategy initially focuses on a region by region national theatrical rollout partnering primarily with owner-operated independent theatres. The strategy also includes working with local Chambers of Commerce to encourage local business communities to engage in network marketing and related activities in support of the film.In addition to providing independent theatres a film which is not simultaneously available for streaming at home, a rarity in the current environment, Hunting Bigfoot offers significantly better financial terms than independent theatres typically receive. “When we say we want to partner with independent theatres in presenting this film we mean it” says Savidge. “We want them to be engaged and be able to really benefit from its success.”For independent theatres coming off a year plus of Covid-19 restrictions this distribution approach holds a lot of appeal. “The financial terms and not having to compete with folks being able to stream the same film at home are both very helpful” says Beth Burrows, owner operator of the North Bend Theatre. She also notes an additional benefit “Their willingness to ask for our input on the best ways to reach our audience and really listen to our advice is a breath of fresh air.”According to Kelly Coughlin, Executive Director of the Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce, “Our members are happy to help spread the word because they know a film drawing large audiences at a local theatre means more business for coffee shops, bars, and restaurants, before and after each screening. ““There's nothing more instructive for a filmmaker than to see their work in front of a live audience" says Guterson, who is especially gratified to have Hunting Bigfoot supporting independent theatres like the Shelton Cinemas, "They will immediately let you know what works and what doesn't, and in either case, the energy and engagement are amazing." Ultimately, observes Guterson, "It's the way movies were meant to be seen.”

The summertime sun and heat are upon us, and in Akron, Ohio, that also means it is "orange barrel season." Justin Chesnic is with ODOT District 4, and he joined the Ray Horner Morning Show to talk about the latest projects happening throughout the area. The $161 million project at the Kenmore Leg is about replacing the pavement, and the plan is for that stretch to be closed for 150 days. Other projects include widening and repaving Interstate 77 between the Central Interchange and Arlington Road, the repaving of a stretch of Route 8, and finishing the ramps and surfacing on I-76 in the Barberton/Norton area.

We have a chat about Arlington Road, the 1999 paranoid thriller starring Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins. What kind of commentary is this making on extremism, the media's portrayal of it, and our digestion of it? Is this the all time twist ending?
