Teresa shares her journey from growing up in the deep South where "things don't change much", to chasing her dreams of being an actress and singer in New York City, meeting her future husband, Larry Campbell, and after years of being apart while Larry was touring with Bob Dylan, finally getting to join forces in Levon Helm's band. Now with four albums together as Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Teresa reflects how music was what brought them together, and has remained the glue that has kept their love alive for nearly four decades.

Guitarist Dominic Miller is a highly regarded pop, classical, and jazz-influenced player, best known for his long association with Sting. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1960, Miller spent his first ten years living in South America, where his father worked for Johnson Wax. Around age ten, he moved back to the United States with his family, settling in Racine, Wisconsin. By age 15 he had picked up the guitar and played in various bands during high school. Later, he studied at London's Guildhall School of Music, where he made his first forays into the U.K. music scene and befriended artists like violinist Nigel Kennedy and Level 42 keyboardist Mike Lindup. From the late '80s onward, Miller was an in-demand performer, touring and/or recording with such acts as Level 42, World Party, King Swamp, the Pretenders, Phil Collins, Branford Marsalis, and many others. Beginning with 1991's The Soul Cages, Miller began a fruitful working relationship with Sting. He has appeared on almost all of Sting's albums since the '90s, including Ten Summoner's Tales, Mercury Falling, Brand New Day, All This Time, Sacred Love, If on a Winter's Night, and more. He has also made significant contributions to albums by Chris Botti, Vinnie Colaiuta, Kim Richey, Ronan Keating, LeAnn Rimes, and many others. As a solo artist, Miller debuted with First Touch in 1995, followed by Second Nature in 1999. These albums showcased his adept technique and inclination toward evocative instrumentals. He has delivered a steady stream of solo efforts since then, including 2002's New Dawn with Neil Stacey, 2004's classical-themed Shapes, and 2008's In a Dream with Peter Kater. He has also delivered a handful of eclectic efforts for the Q-Rious label, including 2010's November; 2014's Ad Hoc; and 2016's collaboration with Manolito Simonet, Hecho en Cuba. In 2017, Miller made his ECM debut with the atmospheric Silent Light. A second ECM release, Absinthe, followed by 2019 and 2023 a third ECM release, Vagabond. In this episode, Dominic shares his background, education, and musical journey.  If you enjoyed this episode please make sure to subscribe, follow, rate, and/or review this podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, ect. Drivin' N' Cryin' hit the peak of their commercial success with this fourth studio album, Fly Me Courageous.  It was released in January at the same time as the start of the Persian Gulf War, and they benefitted from patriotic associations the title song received.  The album peaked at 90 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The band at the time included Buren Fowler on guitar, Kevin Kinney on guitar and vocals, Tim Nielson on bass and backing vocals, and Jeff Sullivan on percussion.  The album was produced and engineered by Geoff Workman, an English producer who also worked with Journey, The Cars, and Queen.  The name Drivin' N' Cryin' was a reference to the band's fusion of driving rock and roll and a bit of a country twang (the crying).Georgia based Drivin' N' Cryin' had formed in 1985, honing their craft at the 688 Club in Atlanta.  The band released a number of albums and singles prior to Fly Me Courageous which had been successful on college and independent radio.  This album was more rock oriented, as would be their follow-up album, Smoke.  Drivin' N' Cryin' would tour with Neil Young and with Soul Asylum.Drivin' N' Cryin' tours today, and is a great act to see live.Rob brings us this Georgia band this week.  Fly Me CourageousThe title track took off quite literally with the start of the Gulf War.  It was considered a patriotic song and was included in the playlists of many military pilots, even though the song itself is more about confronting aggression than celebrating it.  The band received a number of requests to perform at military bases after the release of this track, which hit number 19 on the US Mainstream Rock charts. The InnocentThis track was also a successful single, and starts with a parody of the US Constitution.  It talks about the discrepancy between politicians providing hand-outs and the desire of people to improve themselves.  "Get used to it.  The innocent."Around the Block Again A deeper cut, this fast paced track has a sound reminiscent of Rod Stewart or the Rolling Stones.  The lyrics reflect hypocrisy in religion, relationships, and music.  Build a FireThis shuffle beat single has a bit of a punk rock feel, and even has a small rap sequence in the middle.  "Bored with the American holstered blues, peace signs on just about everything.  Don't know where to turn or what they say."  ENTERTAINMENT TRACK:Break On Through (To the Other Side) by the Doors (from the motion picture sountrack "The Doors") Val Kilmer owns the role as Jim Morrison in this movie about the band. STAFF PICKS:American Society by L7 Wayne starts off the staff picks with an all-female punk band, that often gets associated with the Nirvana grunge sound.  This is a cover song originally done by a punk band called "Eddie and the Subtitles" from Orange County, California in the early 80's.All This Time by Sting  Bruce features the first single off Sting's third studio album, "The Soul Cages."  Sting had writer's block for several years after the death of his father in 1987, and many songs on this album reflect the tumultuous relationship he had with his father. It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over by Lenny KravitzJohn brings us a crossover hit that went to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.  The style was inspired by Motown and Earth, Wind & Fire.  The lyrics reflect the marital struggles Kravitz was experiencing with his then-wife Lisa Bonet.Someone to Love by Roger McGuinnRob closes out the staff picks with former Byrds front man Roger McGuinn and a single from his sixth studio album, "Back from Rio."  This is the lead-off track from the album.  It made it to number 12 on the Mainstream Rock charts.  McGuinn used a number of familiar artists on his album, including Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and David Crosby. COMEDY TRACK:Lisa, Lisa (The One I Adore) by Pauly Shore Pauly Shore was all over MTV during the early 90's.

She Gathers Beauty | Living Your Wildly Naked Truth

Embracing the harvest: gratitude, reflection, and calling in. Join Wendy to explore the deeper call of what it means to honor grace in your life right now. How are you being invited into an experience of expanding joy, meaning, passion, creativity, and love? What would it be like to hold the intention of just being you?  What are you harvesting and celebrating now? What are you still hungry for? I share from personal experience what it means to follow soul's call, how I devote myself to love, divinity, and my path, through change, challenge, and uprooting my entire life.  Permission to be terrified, ask for help, live supported, and make your life sacred. Longing is the embodiment of sovereignty when we are willing to know and trust our truth. Longing goes deep into the roots of us. It is why we are here. It is a generous expression of soul. It is your divinity whispering into you the way to get home. It's not a “beach read,” it's the book of your life. There is a gorgeous seed of light living inside each of us. Now is the time to let the layers fall away so that the light can grow. Our desire is that light. Claiming what is unclaimed within us is how we come home.  You are allowed to change, to move your life in a new direction. You are allowed to rest. Reflect. To let things fall away. To begin again. To create. To love whatever you love.  “There is no such thing as one way liberation.” —Glennon Doyle You are here to be you. And you are so much more than you know. “Accept the nudge, be moved by love.” Home is a deeper expression of who you really are—and home will always show you this. I share the poems See-saw & All This Time. ”I want to know what you ache for but do not say.” Create your own map so that you can freely explore the home of you in your fullest expression. We've all been known to be a little dramatic… but none of us have anything on Lola Cep, the star of Dyan Sheldon's 1999 YA novel Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. That's right — it was a book before it was a Lindsay Lohan movie! On Episode 151, Alli and her guest take a ridiculous journey through the source material that inspired the 2004 LiLo performance. They discuss everything from unreliable narrators and band breakups to easy-to-like villainesses and rowdy pop stars. You might just want an encore! Rachael Lippincott is the coauthor of All This Time and the #1 New York Times bestseller Five Feet Apart. Her new book The Lucky List is now available! We had the pleasure of interviewing Dispatch over Zoom video! Celebrated roots rock band Dispatch have announced the release of their anticipated 8th studio album Break Our Fall out May 28th on Bomber Records/AWAL Recordings. Marking the band’s eighth studio release, the songs on this record speak not only to Chadwick Stokes’ and Brad Corrigan’s personal evolution, but to human nature itself, charting a course from denial and resistance to growth and acceptance through deep introspection and empathetic character studies. For Stokes and Corrigan, the only constant these past few years has been change – marriage, birth, death, departure – add to that an exceedingly tense political climate, long-overdue reckonings on racial justice/gender equality and a runaway global pandemic and you’ve got Break Our Fall, an album that enriches Dispatch’s distinguished legacy, on which the depth and breadth of the band’s stunning songwriting is displayed in full force. The band has been teasing details of the album’s launch in recent months, having released six singles including fan favorite “May We All,” which is currently climbing at AAA Radio. The music on Break Our Fall is pure Dispatch – blending infectious roots rock with hints of reggae, folk, and blues, and the production is similarly lean and energetic, leaving plenty of space for some of the group’s most pointed, political lyrics to date. The result is a timely and essential album from a band still breaking new ground two-and-a-half decades into its storied career, an ode to resilience and survival that manages to find hope and joy on even the darkest of days. The album finds Stokes and Corrigan more explicit and outspoken than ever, working with frequent collaborators Mike Sawitzke (Eels) and John Dragonetti (The Submarines) to craft a wide-ranging collection of cathartic songs. The album works its way through a litany of modern fears and frustration on the driving “May We All” and laments the direction of the country in no uncertain terms on the simmering “All This Time” (featuring soulful vocal contributions from The White Buffalo). Reality sets in with the heartache of missed opportunities and lost loved ones coming into sharp focus on songs like the bittersweet “As Old As I” and epic “Connie Hawkins,” which tips its cap to everything from Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen to The Cars and Violent Femmes. You've been with the same partner for years. Your fittest days peaked way before you birthed a few kids. Now you're breaking up, getting divorced, or adjusting to being single again with less than stellar confidence levels. AND worse, you're faced with the gut-wrenching thought of having to be naked in front of someone new after ALL THIS TIME. Ugh! I get it. For me, this podcast interview with Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Catie Lynch, is personal. Having struggled with my own body issues and eating disorder for years, nothing sparked these bad behaviors up again quite like getting divorced. I placed way too much emphasis on the physical parts of me, convincing myself that I had to be as skinny as possible again in order to find a new relationship. This was not smart, yet so many of us revert to this thought process in times of stress. The incredible Catie Lynch, who works with countless women on their struggles with body image and eating disorders, helps us all see past the physical, and focus on what really matters - the unique beauty of what makes you, you. Connect with Catie, here, and learn more about how you can work with her. Enjoy this episode!

I believe that when people start thinking along with a group, they stop improving their independent thinking skills. If you want to make real progress in life, a good way to do so is to separate yourself from whatever groups you belong to and reevaluate if what that group says comports with what you actually think. If it does, then by all means return to that group. If not, then go your own way. Whatever your conclusions, at least you’ll know you reached them independently. This past week, I've been thinking about the old poem "Ozymandias" and the song "All This Time" by Sting. Both talk about ancient ruins of things created many years ago; things, when they were created, were thought would last forever and leave a significant mark on history. Yet, nobody remembers the builders and the things they built now lie in ruin. What are you building? What are you placing significance on? Will it matter a few years from? Singer Tiffany had phenomenal success at an unbelievably young age.  Her debut album went quadruple platinum when she was only 15 years old.  That record yielded back to back number one hits with the Tommy James’ cover “I Think We’re Alone Now,” and “Could’ve Been.”  Other hits followed, including the Beatles reworking “I Saw Him Standing There” and “All This Time.” But, the shelf life of a teen idol is usually short-lived.  As she became an adult, she ventured into different territory - dance and country music. Now, she’s back with A Million Miles, her first new album in five years.  She talks about learning the art of songwriting in Nashville, co-producing an album for the first time, and she reminisces about her early days in the music business.

Country singer/songwriter/guitarist Derek Andrew grew up just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and began singing as a child. Inheriting a love of music from his father, Derek picked up his first instrument, an acoustic guitar, at age 12 and almost immediately began writing his own songs. Although Derek's roots are anchored deep in traditional country music, he grew up with alternative rock dominating the airwaves. Now, with his rock-influenced country style, Derek Andrew hits close to home with his solid relatable lyrics and his uptempo alternative edge. His years working as an EMT have given him a "no quit" work ethic and a unique perspective on life from which he draws songwriting inspiration. With his self-titled EP, Derek has certainly found his stride. His single, "All This Time", has garnered radio play on multiple stations across the US. It's reached #1 on the "Independent Music Charts" and rose to the #2 spot on 94.9 The Bull's "Backyard Country" out of Atlanta, GA. Derek hopes to release his next single, "Night We're Gonna Forget", in early 2016.

TIFFANY is back! ...to her roots. The dynamic voice of the 80s has returned to where it all started for her, country music and the Nashville music scene. Now a critically praised songwriter, Tiffany is set to capture your hearts again...with her new album of country rock inflused tunes! She also just wrapped a starring role in the SyFy Channel Original Movie "Mega Piranha", stars in a national commercial with Meatloaf, & appeared on the CBS TV shows "The Young & the Restless" & “How I Met Your Mother.” The “I Think We’re Alone Now” Girl recently Won VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club! Needless to say it gathered her an avalanche of press from the cover of “In Touch” Magazine, radio to television show like the Tyra Banks show, Entertainment Tonight and the Insider TV shows. Tiffany began her career at the age of 13 when she signed her first recording contract with MCA. The self-titled debut album was released in 1987 and eventually went quadruple platinum. The innovative “Mall Tour” that followed proved to be the signature for Tiffany’s early career and was very effective in targeting her core audience of young teens making Tiffany the youngest female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard charts. Tiffany produced three top ten hits, two of which were national and international #1 pop singles “Could’ve Been” and the celebrated “I Think We’re Alone Now.” The soon-to-be teen pop phenomenon, New Kids on the Block, got their big break as the opening act for her world tour. Tiffany released her second album, Hold An Old Friend’s Hand, which went double platinum and featured the top ten hit “All This Time.” In addition to her ground breaking successful music career, Tiffany had the opportunity to be the voice of Judy Jetson in the feature version of the popular cartoon series, The Jetsons.
