Lee tries to start off 2025 on a positive note with a playlist from everyone's favourite Italian brother duo, Guido & Maurizio De Angelis. If you're counting, this is the fourth time Lee has done a show covering the work of the prolific brothers (search the archives on Podbean for parts 1-3), be it under their names, Oliver Onions, or some of the lesser known pseudonyms they've used over the decades. In many cases, this list features instrumental versions of songs Lee has used in previous episodes, and Lee does much less talking than in previous installments of this series. This makes for an easier episode to put together for Lee, and more music for you the listener. It's like you won a new shiny red dune buggy! --Across the Fields & Dune Buggy (Instrumental) from "Watch Out, We're Mad!" (1974) --Driving All Around (Instrumental) & Goodbye My Friend (Rock Version) from "Street Law" (1974) --Afyon (Instrumental) from "The Sicilian Connection" (1974) --Sliding Crime from "Violent Rome" (1975) --Flat Foot Cop from "Flatfoot in Hong Kong" --Suspense from "Hit Squad" (1976) --E Nun ce vojo sta from "Hit Squad" (1976) --Alberto Griso --Verso l'avventura from "Soldier of Fortune" (1976) --Ultimo Inseguimento & Agguato from "The Big Racket" (1976) --Miss Robot from "Bulldozer" (1978) --In Africa, Freedom (Single Side A Alt Mix), Diamonds #2 & African Disco from "Flatfoot in Africa" (1978) Opening and closing music: Theme from Slaughter from "Slaughter" by Billy Preston, and Too Risky a Day for a Regatta from "Tentacles" by Stelvio Cipriani.

This week's episode is continuing down the tracks on the Hong Kong cinema train, in a roundabout sort of way. Ben is joined by guest John Grace from the Midnight Movie Cowboys Podcast, who graciously provides his knowledge of Bud Spencer and Hong Kong Cinema for the Italian crime-action-comedy movie, Flatfoot in Hong Kong (aka Flatfoot Goes East) from 1975 that was largely set in Asia. This film is the second in a series of movies Bud Spencer made in the 1970s based around Police Officer Rizzo. You can find it on YouTube, HERE. Find John Grace on Letterboxd, HERE. My name is Liza and I am from Russia (unfortunately), I have recently discovered your podcast and I would like to say thank you for what you are doing. I love Celtic music, songs and dances, also picked up some piano notes when visiting Scotland. Utterly magnificent sounds and composition. I enjoy listening to your podcast while I am walking through the woods near my country house or collect berries there. It helps me to escape from the harsh reality and just meditate in the great outdoors. I sent you some photos of our my favourite places" Thank you for emailing Liza. I appreciate you sharing those beautiful photos. And I hope you stay safe in this terrible period of history. Rex Edwards emailed: “Marc. Long time fan and podcast subscriber. You provide the modern and I'm a long time supporter of Alan OLeary and his trad podcast on liveIreland.com which I think has hit hard times. He has great connections to the old timers. Don't know if you've heard of him but any visibility you could give him would be great. He's always asking to share with friends but that would require me making friends. Your show is a great delight and many thanks. Rex” Find more about Copperplate.
Episode 35 aired on 1 Sept 2022, on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00. For once there were no technical problems on startup, everything connected and everything worked. First up we had Krokus with their classic track Long Stick Goes Boom, off 1982's One Vice at a Time. Next up Biters with a track called ‘1975' and then a quick track from Herman Frank before we shifted direction with some Faith No More. From there we checked out ‘Baptised in Muddy Water from Ayron Jones and a track off the Ronnie James Dio Tribute tiled This is Your Life. We spend a bit of time in the ‘Qs', not home affairs, the letter 'Q', with Q5 and Queensrÿche and 'Steel The Light' and ‘Jet City Woman respectively. Seether made a welcome return with ‘Fake It' and Flatfoot 56 made their debut on TSORR. The show moved into party mode with Rob Zombie and Living Dead Girl' (who you can meet behind the counter at any Municipal Traffic Department near you). Buckcherry and ‘Let's Party' off All Night Long, kept the throttle open. We did the usual mix, slammed in some metal with Machine Head, ‘No Gods, No Masters' and Killswitch Engage then into the UK punky stuff, The Boomtown Rats, The Jam, and Stiff Little Fingers. The new stuff came from Five Finger Death Punch, The Halo effect, Slipknot, and Soulfly. We checked out Cape Town-based Infanteria who featured a few months ago with a nearly 8 min masterpiece called 'Swansong' off their 2022 release Patriarch. Then another brand new album from UK-based NWOBHM stalwarts Desolation Angels who have South African metal merchant Clive Pearson with them on bass. We didn't manage to play the new Parkway Drive because there just isn't enough time, that tells you something about the amount of good new metal being released at the moment, "didn't have time for Parkway Drive", jesus. We hit the local stuff with Jasper Dan and Black Bone Nation and then moved to a special level with ‘Warm Machine' from Bush, you had to be there moving through the night at 3 am in Black Adder II to understand the power of that track. Good times, really good times. Anyway, the show had to die so we ended off with US punk from Green Day and then 'Helena' the classic track from MCR. We went out heavy with The Halo Effect featuring Jesper Strömblad ex In-Flames, Slipknot's new track 'The Chapeltown Rag', and Soulfly with 'Ancestors'. Check it out, and spread the TSORR podcast far and wide please. Artists featured: Krokus, Biters, Herman Frank, Faith No More, Ayron Jones, Brian Tichy + Oni Logan + Rowan Robertson + Jimmy Bain, Q5, Queensrÿche, Seether, Flatfoot 56, Rob Zombie, Rob Zombie, Buckcherry, Nashville Pussy, Michael Monroe, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage, Thin Lizzy, Billy Idol, The Boomtown rats, The Jam, Stiff Little Fingers, The Fismits, Megadeth, Five Finger Death Punch, Infanteria, Desolation Angels, Texas Hippie Coalition, Pantera, The L.A. Has gone outside of their usual wheelhouse and ventured into the world of instrumental gypsy jazz with their new album Dinner for Derelicts. QUEL BORDEL (QB!) was formed in San Diego, CA in 2013 w/ a Ukrainian, two Filipino brothers, a classically trained violinist, and a punk rock drummer. After the better part of a decade, they have had multiple releases and kept up a vigorous touring regiment of over 150+ shows a year. The band has toured the US, Canada, and Europe, and they have made a small dent in the folk-punk music scene: coining their own sub-genre “world punk.” After the release of their first full-length CD, Caravan Treasures (nominated for Best World Music Album by the 2015 San Diego Music Awards), QB! reveled in a three-week international festival tour with French folk group BandàpArt (headlining Coin de la Vigne, & FestiBaloche in France), which they repeated again 2016 in the US (headlining Crestfest in Colorado, SD GypsyFest in San Diego, and others) amid several regional tours and resident gigs as well. 2017 saw increased regional touring with a full European Tour (headlining Coin de la Vigne again in France, as well as performances at Festibaloche (Olargues, France), and Highmatland Festival (Leutkirch, Germany) a motif that has continued on as the band currently maintains a vigorous touring schedule and band “bromance” with BandàpArt. In fact the two groups have merged into a side-project super-group known as BandàBordel and released an EP together in 2018. QUEL BORDEL! is noted for their wild performances and danceable beats. QB! has headlined sweaty, high-energy shows at House of Blues (Mainstage), The Holding Company, The Casbah, and has performed at the Get Shamrocked festival 7 years in a row. Likewise, the band has shared the stage with: Flatfoot 56, Metallachi, The Rum Jacks, The Real McKenzies, Diego's Umbrella, Sprung Monkey, Magic Giant, Young Dubliners, Dublin City Ramblers, Bridge City Sinners, Daze ‘N Daze, Dirty Kid Discount, and many others. QB also boasts several television slots (including a feature on TLC's Breaking Amish), as well as new music in the pipeline (three EP's released in under a year and two more on the way).Website: http://www.quel-bordel.com
Enjoy folks!
It is currently unclear how injury to the spring ligament (SL) affects the preoperative presentation of adult acquired flatfoot deformity (AAFD) or the outcome of operative reconstruction. The purposes of this study were to assess the preoperative features and pre- or postoperative function of patients who underwent direct operative repair of an SL tear compared to those without a tear. In conclusion, increasing patient age, increasing talonavicular uncoverage percentage, and decreasing talonavicular angle are all independently associated with increased likelihood of patients with AAFD having an SL tear. At follow-up for operative treatment of grade 2B AAFD flatfoot with our approach, we found no clinical outcomes difference between those without SL tears and those with SL tears treated with concomitant SL debridement and repair. Forming in 2000, the Chicago natives achieved nationwide attention with their first two label-backed records, 2006's Knuckles Up and 2007's Jungle of the Midwest Sea. These releases built on a heavy dose of previously established regional notoriety, helping the band gain steam early on. While each record received its fair share of acclaim, the quintet exploded onto a new level with 2010's Black Thorn. Landing the band on a total of 9 Billboard Charts, Flatfoot 56 proved it could consistently reach an expanding audience while treading in a genre not often associated with widespread success. This success was advanced even further with song placements in the hit TV series "Sons of Anarchy" and the video game "Watchdogs". After the success of “Blackthorn", Flatfoot 56 hit the studio yet again in 2012 to record "Toil". This album would further solidify the band as a consistent force to be reckoned with. Flatfoot 56's new album, ”Odd Boat”, was produced by Matt Allison at Atlas studios in Chicago. “We decided that since the last experience at Atlas Studios was so beneficial, we wanted to repeat it,” Bawinkel said. “We have been friends with Matt for a few years now and we love the work that he and his studio engineers do.” Flatfoot 56 has decided to partner with Sailor's Grave Records to help deliver the next chapter of their legacy to the world.
