Dupárna slaví sedmdesátku a to stylově! Rozjetý mejdan na lodní palubě, sice ne výletní jachty, ale zato o poznání romantičtější, na solí a sluncem vyschlých prknech paluby plachetnice z osmnáctého století. Námořníci, piráti, rum a vzdálené obzory, slaný vítr a šumění vln a kolem spousta Irčanů, kteří na požádání spustí nějaký námořnický popěvek. Konkrétně se nalodili mimo jiných The Rumjacks, Floggin Molly nebo veleslavní Dropkick Murphys.

I also remembered to email one of the bands We Banjo 3 and tell them how I first heard them here and now I follow them on Soundcloud.  I love their sound.  The song Hummingbird is superb. Thanks as always for your fabulous show.  Is there any way I can make a one off contribution?  I went to patreon but I don't want to make a weekly subscription.  I'd rather just make a one - off contribution each year.  Is that possible? I'm back to doing my early morning walks (have to start walking about sunrise for the cooler weather).  The photo was taken looking north to Safford peak with a hot air balloon moving to the right to pass Safford to the east side.  Back in my peak climbing days I climbed Safford a number of times.  It's a great trip with wonderful views from the top. I learned how to connect 3 of your podcasts, so I could listen to your podcasts for the whole time.  Thanks for the work you do to distribute this music." Peter Bengtson sent another photo from October: "Mark,  I've  recently been walking the bicycle trail along the Rillito River.  This was the most dramatic piece of art along the trail.  It shows bats riding bicycles.  The upper bat and bicycle is upside down since the bats hang upside down under the bridges over the river. The second and third messages are information signs about the Mexican Free Tail bats living under bridges.  I couldn't figure out how to get all 3 photo into the same message."

I often listen to the Irish and Celtic Music podcast when I work on my genealogy research. My father's roots are deep in Cape Breton and the west coast of Scotland before that. I often think about what my ancestors' lives were like when I listen to the music on your podcast. In my research I came across a great photo on the Isle of Rum in the Inner Hebrides. It shows a woman touching a large rock called the "Emigrants Stone." I thought that would be a great title for one of your podcasts dedicated to those Irish and Scots who were forced from their homes and scattered to the many corners of the world. We are all about following our rockstar dreams and encouraging everyone to follow the same while having a foot-stomping rocking time with everyone at our gigs, providing mighty one-liners, awesome powerful songs and just being human (well pirates).Hailing from the pirate haven of Penzance, this fun, upbeat, pirate-folk band have hung up their cutlasses, exchanged their galleon for a land ship (named Hubert Cumberdale) and taken to a life of music.Formed in February 2019, punk-rock-folk-pirate band JollyRoger are already taking the south-west by storm, gigging port, bow & starboard. Soon getting booked for the likes of Boardmasters Festival & performing live on BBC RADIO CORNWALL & TCR RADIO. One year later, in February 2020, they had a sell-out first year show. They were then asked to support one of their musical influences, The Rumjacks. Next, the three were approached by Channel 4 and were filmed playing their first single '21st Century Pirate' for the show 'Britain's Most Historic Towns', which is scheduled to air in June 2020.They have built a loyal fan base & reached over 4000 followers on Facebook in their first year alone. Now, they are getting regular slots at reputable venues & have (had) a full calendar full of festivals & gigs for the rest of this year. Bookings include, hosting Bloodstock Festivals Metal 2 the Masses Final, Brixham Pirate Day & winning a newcomer slot at the biggest medieval festival in Europe - Mediaval Festival in Selb, Germany. In September 2019, JollyRoger released their first, home recorded EP 'Everyday Pirate' (Here’s a link to their 5 track EP on Spotify). Tracks have since been played on Coast FM, BCFM radio & Astro Radio. Charity EP 'Silent Mountain' came in November 2019. A rowing themed EP made in memory of family member, Christopher. A community gig boat was made in his honour and JollyRoger sang the EP during the launch, half of the EP profits go to charity sadsuk.org.uk. JollyRoger have just released their selp-titled debut album which they aim to launch in May 2020! You can find out how to pre-order by visiting www.facebook.com/jollyrogerbandukJollyRoger comprises of brother & sister, Jae Dennis (guitar/ ukelele/ harmonica) & Samantha Hannah (mandolin/guitar) plus Kynan Sandles on the lesser-seen acoustic bass guitar, all of which grew up in the pirate haven of Penzance. These guys are family and their connection on stage adds that little extra to their music and performances as they naturally use the audience and foot stomping as their percussion. Inspired and influenced by the vocals of 'The Pogues' crossed with 'Fisherman's Friends' with the energy of the 'Dropkick Murphys' and the comedy of 'Tenacious D', it's hard to categorise JollyRoger! Their aim is to provide a new genre of music that can be enjoyed by all, bringing all walks of life together. They demand audience immersion (even from your homes!)Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/houseofmysteryradio. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

I especially thought the closer (Sharon Shannon's "Christmas Time Again") totally fabulous-if it could ever get mainstream play it could become a new classic. I did notice that in Apple CarPlay, the name of the song and artist pops up. Cool! Has anyone else mentioned that? But at the same time, I'd suggest putting the artist name first. The reason is that display space even on an 8" screen cuts off the artist name. They demand audience immersion (even from your homes!) G'day everyone, look I know we're all a bit down at the moment, especially the way the world is and us all being in self isolation and social distancing and all that, so I thought a bonus podcast might help us deal with all the shit going down. So what better time than now to do an idea I've had for months, an all Australian special! I actually did an all Australian show on Blues & Roots Radio once and have been keen to do a podcast version, so here it is! Lot's of old favourites, some you haven't heard before on the show and a BRAND NEW track from The Dead Maggies! Also, please note, all these bands are (or were) based solely in Australia, hence why The Rumjacks and The Cloverhearts missed out despite being awesome bands. Anyway here's the tracklist:   THE DEAD MAGGIES - 'Lacey's Redemption' THE RAMSHACKLE ARMY - 'Rue The Day' HANDSOME YOUNG STRANGERS - 'Limejuice Tub'   ROARING JACK - 'Destitution Road' THE BOTTLERS - 'Hades Way' THE GO SET - 'The Rising Tide'   BENNY MAYHEM - 'Song For Absent Friends' MEDUSAS WAKE - 'Hobart Sailor' SHAMBOLICS - 'Pogue Mahone (Kiss My Arse)'   THE CURRENCY - 'Victoria Rose' CATGUT MARY - 'Paddys Lantern' MUTINY - 'Bligh'   SIBIN - 'Run Johnny Run' THE DANGEROUS FOLK - 'Shipping Up To Brisbane' THE GOOD SHIP - 'Seven Seas'   FOX N FIRKIN - 'Waltzing Matilda'   CONTACT ME:Twitter Facebook email   Check out the London Celtic Punks blog here
