Where has the time gone?!! We began coming straight out of the Covid closures in the back of Alan Garcia's garage podcast studio in Essexville in February of 2021. Now we fire up in our new comfy confines of the Bay City Historical Museum Second Floor where the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends displays can be witnessed. When we first moved to the Museum, you could hear us trying areas, tables, spaces. Now we have our own 'couch relaxed' room, boom mic'd and offering even more quality as our MMHP989 brand continues to expand by word of mouth from music lover to music lover, musician to musician, fan to DJ, author to Podcaster. We are 118 episodes deep according to Apple Podcasting--sounds about right! Because of YOU listeners and our first class guests, we are getting requests from more music legends now to help tell their story and be featured on our show. As we roll into year four, we plan to expand the horizons and look at our show from other angles. The best is yet to come! In our four year catch up, Dr. J dishes out the details behind our new first class operation, discusses state of the state of the amazing Michigan Rock Hall (have you visited it yet?), we talk about our joy of the show and how its reached beyond the state of Michigan, and we get a deep dive into an artist whom has passed away from Saginaw, songwriter Bob Buchanan who wrote the great Hickory Wind with the late Gram Parsons while on a train, members of the International Submarine Band. Told only as Sir Fred can, bruises and all! We are lucky to have this outlet for this story--so stick around for it. Sit back and celebrate our Fourth Anniversary with the MMHP989!
On this fourth anniversary of An Aromatic Life, just like every year, Frauke shares what her recent guests revealed when asked “What does the sense of smell mean to you?” This New Year's episode is a chance to reflect on this beautiful, complicated, and under-appreciated sense and ask what it can do for you. It's also an invitation to incorporate more smelling into your life in 2025. Be curious. Be open. And stay connected. The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast is celebrating its fourth anniversary! Thank you to everyone who has listened to the podcast over the past four years. I also want to thank every single guest who took time out of their lives to sit down with me. To mark each anniversary, I always welcome someone who has played a significant part in my career in the media world. For the Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast's fourth-anniversary show, I am honored and privileged to welcome Anne Trujillo as my guest. I first met Anne when I interned at KMGH-TV ABC 7 News in Denver during my final semester at the University of Colorado at Boulder during the 2010-2011 school year. After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Anne Trujillo began her career at Denver7 as a general assignment reporter. She worked her way up the ranks, covering stories from the Columbine and Aurora theater shootings to the Democratic National Convention in Denver to three Broncos' Super Bowl appearances. Anne is an Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist. Her reporting and anchoring skills have been recognized numerous times by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, the Colorado Broadcasters Association, The Associated Press and Women in Communications. Throughout her career, Anne has been active in the community, volunteering for boards and non-profit organizations and frequently serving as emcee for events. Anne is Co-President of the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She is a member of journalism advisory councils at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Metropolitan State University. After almost 40 years covering Colorado's news, shaping generations of journalists at Denver7, and being Denver's longest-serving continuous evening news anchor, Anne said she would sign off from the station this fall. “After much reflection, I have decided to step away from my role as evening news anchor in November,” said Anne Trujillo in an August 3 news story. “It's time for me to leave Denver7 and pursue the next chapter of my life – one that allows me the flexibility to pursue new passions as well as my time with my family.” On the fourth anniversary episode of the podcast, Anne reflected on how broadcast journalism has evolved since she started and shared her thoughts on the most memorable news stories she covered in her career.

This week, Dan Neumann is joined by Sam Falco to celebrate four years of podcasts. In this episode, Sam, who was a co-founder of the Agile Coach's Corner Podcast, is talking about some of his experiences throughout his professional journey; he dives deep into various lessons learned and the challenges overcame. Key Takeaways Sam shares the ups and downs in his professional journey: Sam learned not to interfere, but instead to listen and observe. Keeping a curious perspective is always positive. Learn how Teams operate; please avoid jumping in and telling them what “needs to be done.” Learn, as a Scrum Master, how you can affect your Team. In a “remote” world, we miss running into somebody. “Can I reach out to you again?” is a good way of staying in touch with people and following up on various topics. Some programs are teaching Scrum in a bad way. Scrum Masters should watch and learn from Teams, it takes a lot to be able to be silent. Access your ignorance, you don't know what the Team has been going through. Tonight the boys review one of the better ROH shows they've covered in quite some time, the Fourth Anniversary Show. Two or three very different great matches, the return of the Briscoes, the farewell for two others, a great chapter of the CZW feud, and Jack Evans takes one of the scariest bumps in history. Plus we talk about who people resemble in a segment that I have no idea how harshly Matt will edit. Listen and find out!

This week marks the start of our fifth year of this podcast. They say one definition of crazy is to keep doing the same thing and expect different results. Well, call us crazy because we've definitely heard some of these stories before and we're not stopping. Still having a laugh, still taking a shallow dive into various deep topics and a deep dive into some shallow topics. Today we talk about the looming Third World War then tip a glass of bubbly to the shows' longevity and our wonderful, supportive listeners. Cheers!

On August 25, 2017, the Burmese military, known as the Tatmadaw, launched a genocidal campaign in Rakhine State against the largely Muslim Rohingya community. The United Nations Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar has documented instances of Burmese military units involved in indiscriminate killings of civilians, mass rape, and arbitrary detentions. This year, the situation has only further deteriorated. On February 1, the Tatmadaw launched a coup installing the ruling military junta led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. Six months later, on August 1, General Hlaing declared himself prime minister until at least 2023. In our 2021 Annual Report, USCIRF recommended that the State Department again designate Burma as a country of particular concern, or CPC, for engaging in systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom, particularly against Rohingya Muslims. The U.S. government continues its investigation into whether a genocide and crimes against humanity have been committed by the Burmese military against the Rohingya people. USCIRF has urged a swift determination. USCIRF Chair Nadine Maenza joins us today to discuss the ongoing situation in Burma and to commemorate the somber fourth anniversary of the genocide against the Rohingya community. She le a delegation to Burma most recently in 2019 and also visited Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh, where hundreds of thousands Rohingya people live to this day in refugee camps without knowing when and if they may be able to return to their homeland. Read all USCIRF policy recommendations regarding Burma in the the 2021 Annual Report Burma Chapter.
