Nooyi is also on the board of Amazon, a Dean's Advisory Council member at MIT's School of Engineering, and advisor on economic development to Gov. Ned Lamont. I often hear women who are trying to get into the sports industry say that it's impossible to get a job because they have no experience in the industry. I hope they believe me when I tell them that is absolutely not true. I beg of you not to buy into the false narrative just because it may bring you comfort during a challenging period in your career. If you don't believe me, listen to my conversation with Pinky Raina. She was named CFO and COO of the U.S. Soccer Federation and came from a non-sports background. Not only was she offered a C-level role, but less than three years later she was an honoree for SBJ Game Changer for Women in Sports business. Regardless of the level, if the job description doesn't explicitly say don't apply if you don't have sports experience, you need to go for it. Not only do Pinky and I talk about how she was transparent about not having sports experience during the interview process, but we also talk a lot about how to prioritize taking time off from work and how to make sure you truly disconnect. We also talk about How to get over having mom guilt Why she started taking calculated risks How mentors helped her find her voice The lens you should look at failure through Connect with Jahaan: Learn more about working with Jahaan and see if it's the right fit for you: https://JahaanBlakeAppointmentScheduling.as.me/LetsTalk Join Jahaan's VIP Email List: https://bit.ly/3yccwAP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jahaanblake/ Email: jblake@jahaanblake.com Website: https://jahaanblake.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jahaanblake/ Links: U.S. Soccer Federation: https://www.ussoccer.com/ Book | My Life in Full: Work, Family, and Our Future by Indra Nooyi: https://www.amazon.com/My-Life-Full-Family-Future/dp/059319179X Game of Her Own Ep. 123 | Four Easy Ways to Take and Enjoy Your PTO Guilt Free with Jahaan Blake: https://apple.co/3qS1hMn Connect with Pinky : Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/pinkyraina/ As a CFO and COO, I bring over 20 years of leadership experience innovating, building and scaling organizations in public, private and not-for-profit organizations. Hi, I'm Gayla Scrivener. Welcome to Live Full Work Fun. This is the show to encourage you to live your life to the fullest and do fun work that fuels your lifestyle. Since work is a big part of our lives, you've landed in the right spot if you believe work shouldn't have to suck the life out of you, but instead, be the catalyst of creating your dream lifestyle. What breaks my heart is seeing folks stuck and unhappy in a career feeling like life is passing them by. I was there. But then, I took the leap and left a career of 20-years to focus on a life full of experiences. I had worked my way up the corporate ladder in a 20-year career in the medical management field. Then, the news came that the company I was working for would be shutting down. I was at a crossroads. I could stay in a career I grew unhappy in or I could do something totally different. I could take a risk and leave the only career path I knew and figure out how I could earn a living that was more joyful and not be geographically tied. My idea of living full was to have the freedom to travel anywhere and not have to find a new job in the process. I really didn't have a clear picture of how I'd earn that living to fuel the lifestyle I pictured, but... In 2011, my husband Robert and I sold practically everything to downsize to start our journey of living big. We moved into our 38-foot motor home and began the pursuit of a work-from-anywhere lifestyle. I founded Scrivener Solutions in 2012, at first as a freelancer. Over the years, I've formed a team of very talented content marketers where we've systemized the content publishing process for our clients. We primarily work with coaches, consultants, and speakers as their content plan implementation team. I'm a work from anywhere adventure seeker. I believe that we all have the opportunity to create the life of our dreams and earn a living in fun and creative ways to make our dream lifestyle a reality. Each week on this show, I will share lessons that I've learned along the way and introduce you to awesome guests to spark ideas of all the possibilities of how you can live full and work fun. Join the Live Full Work Fun community. Hop over to Facebook and join the Live Full Work Fun group. That's where we can share experiences and ideas together. Hope to see you over there. Enjoy! Live Full and Work Fun!

Need to dig yourself out of a hole? Viv Groskop talks to Indra Nooyi, the former chair and CEO of PepsiCo. She may be regularly listed as one of the world's most powerful woman, but as a woman of colour she explains how she always felt like she started at a disadvantage, in a hole that she had to dig herself out of. She explains how important it is to avoid anything that takes the focus away from what you have to say, why society needs to support families - and why stomach butterflies are brilliant. Indra's book My Life in Full: Work, Family and Our Future is out now. Viv's book, Lift As You Climb is also out now. @vivgroskop
