Hello friends! Thank you for joining us for another episode of As For Me and My House podcast! On this week's show, Milena and Jordan discuss a recent encounter with angels. While this may be cause for skepticism for some, we who believe the Bible and take it seriously should not be surprised to have experiences with spiritual beings from time to time. After all, Hebrews 1:14 says, that angels are "ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation," and later on in chapter 13 verse 2, we are told to "not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Additionally, we are told that angels visited and ministered to Jesus after his temptation in the wilderness in Matthew 4:11. If you've ever had a similar encounter like Milena describes in this episode, be sure to leave a comment below and share your experience! We look forward to reading your testimonies! Be blessed! Today's episode is with Benjamin Windle is a discussion that is definitely needed. We talk about some of the reasons why people are leaving the church and one of the main reasons is because people have a difficult time understanding why bad things happen to good people. I know I am not the only one who has struggled with this as well. That is why Benjamin wrote his book, Good Catastrophe. He discusses how we can reframe the way we see our problems and that hardship and hope together can do something for us that a problem free life never could. He talks about how a problem free life was not one of God's promises and isn't the pursuit of a Christian. We also talk about how hope and community go hand in hand and that we can become hope ambassadors to those around us. I pray this conversation helps you to better understand how we can get our hope and joy back even in the midst of catastrophe. Bio: Benjamin Windle is an innovative and empathic author and speaker. He has a Bachelor of Theology, an MBA from Deakin University, and Executive Education at Stanford University and the MIT Sloan School of Management. As a pastor for over twenty years, he's walked with many people through the dark shadows and valleys of the human experience. He has dedicated his life to helping people overcome life's challenges by growing deeper in their faith and reaching higher in life. Along with his wife Cindi and their three sons, he is now based between both the U.S. and Australia. Benjamin is a new-generation content creator for some of the most respected Christian brands in the world. His work has been featured by the Barna Group, YouVersion, RightNow Media, Vanderbloemen Leadership Podcast, and the Glorify App. Anchor Verse: Job 14:7 Connect with Benjamin: Website: https://www.benjaminwindle.com IG: https://instagram.com/benjaminwindle FB: https://m.facebook.com/benjaminwindlepage Book Website: https://www.goodcatastrophe.com ***This podcast is a proud member of the Spark Network! I should be finished with the whole book by the time this podcast airs, but a story she shared in the book, I wanted to share with you to encourage you in your walk with Christ today. With Christ, each day we get has meaning and purpose... So let's do what we do for the Lord! If you want to, buy the book or see if you can check it out at your local library. If you've ever strived for perfection, then you know how it feels when you fall short. Maybe you aren't the one carrying a list of all you "need to do to earn God's love." But more the type who carries a "Never Good Enough List” with all the reasons you'll never be able to earn His love. Either way, Amy Carroll, (author, speaker, Proverbs 31 contributor) is on the podcast this week helping us break up with perfect. In this episode (and in her new book), Amy helps us recognize the lies we have been believing and the Truth to set us free. Lies like: "I was created to produce perfection" or "People are obstacles to my tasks" or "If I have the right stuff, my life will be perfect." My favorite quote from our conversation was: Only when I end my own pursuit of perfection can God do a perfecting work in me. --Amy Carroll May you experience a supernatural freedom from the struggle to be perfect.
