A truly international band composed of a Brit, a Frenchman, two Americans and two Canadians, The Wilderness formed in 2015. The Wilderness is the lifelong dream of six rock n' roll devotees based in Kingston, ON. Together, they bring the piss and vinegar of young DIY road-dogs, the lyrical eloquence of Canada's folk heroes, and the musical grandeur of your dad's favourite arena-rock band to any stage they can find. Think the belting poetry of Sam Fender, the lush vocal harmonies of Hozier, the driving guitars and soaring saxophones of Bruce Springsteen, and the effervescent choruses of Noah Kahan, held together by an unmistakable bond of brotherhood and a shared love of rock n' roll. A musical tapestry of truest Canadian fashion, the Wilderness sounds like nostalgia, feels like camaraderie, and looks a lot like a band you should watch out for.Since 2015, The Wilderness have been earning their following by cutting their teeth over countless long nights and hundreds of thousands of kilometers. Their debut album, “Until Tomorrow” was produced by Rob Baker (the Tragically Hip) and charted on the NACC's top 200 list for seven consecutive weeks. Their forth coming 2024 LP, “Strangers I Used to Love” was written in collaboration with JUNO panelist Steve Foley, Brett Emmons (the Glorious Sons), and Chris Koster (ex-the Glorious Sons) and sits poised to take the band to new heights and highways. With almost 600 independently booked shows across North America under their belt, and an independently released discography to their credit, the Wilderness are a formidable musical force and an unmistakably human band working hard to keep their dreams alive. Thanks for listening!!! Please Follow us on Instagram @hiddentracks99Pre and Post roll music brought to you by @sleepcyclespa
We had the pleasure of interviewing The Glorious Sons over Zoom video! The Glorious Sons, renowned for their chart-topping hits and captivating live performances, are poised to make an impact on the musical landscape once again with the release of their new album, 'Glory'. With a distinct roots rock feel, the 10-track project is out now via Warner Music Canada and ADA Worldwide.Best known for their twoBillboard Mainstream Rockchart-topping singles "S.O.S. (Sawed OffShotgun)" and "Panic Attack," as well as being nominated for the 2020 iHeart Media Best NewRock/Alternative Rock Artist, The Glorious Sons have consistently pushed boundaries and defied expectations. With their latest album, 'Glory', they delve even deeper into the human experience, exploring themes of perseverance, personal growth, and the tumultuous journey of self-acceptance.Lead singer Brett Emmons shares his perspective on the album's inspiration and themes: "When I listen back to this album, it kind of presents itself as one big inner struggle puked out for everyone to hear. Sometimes it actually embarrasses me quite a bit—but that's what was in there, so—life goes on, I guess."He attributes the album's themes to spending time alone and confronting his inner thoughts during the pandemic: "It kind of feels like the acknowledgment of that annoying pain of what it means to be human."The Glorious Sons' journey in the music industry has undeniably influenced the evolution of their sound.‘Glory' showcases their growth, maintaining the emotional intensity they are known for while exploring new sonic territories. Emmons reflects,"'Glory' is just another chapter in what we're doing—I'm sure we'll be another band next album, it's kind of just the way our minds work."He emphasizes the album's departure from the immediate hit-seeking approach, instead focusing on creating a body of work that breathes and takes its time, allowing the band's personal taste to shine through. The album's lead single, "Mercy Mercy," set the tone for the introspective journey. The song combines elements of familiarity and innovation to showcase the band's distinct sonic style and poignant lyrics, while highlighting their anthemic and ambitious nature.“Mercy Mercy” quickly became a contender, it was the most added track at rock radio formats for two consecutive weeks, reached #3 on Mediabase's Multiple Rock Formats in Canada, and continues to receive strong support from Triple A and Alternative stations in the US."Glory" not only stands as the album's title but also embodies its essence, playing a pivotal role in the project's narrative. Emmons describes it as" a rally cry to the band," a reflection on their journey, a surrendering of emotions, and a reminder that success is not a guarantee. He notes, "I wanted people to know how good we had it, and remind them that this [success] doesn't last forever. It's not just something that's owed to us."We want to hear from you! This episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn, Everest Counseling, Reynolds Landscaping and Lawncare,From the very moment The Glorious Sons burst onto the music scene, they embodied the essence of rock 'n' roll—embracing creativity, adventure, passion, truth, energy, expression, individuality, and the spirit of community. Hailing from Kingston, Ontario, this band has traversed a tumultuous four-year journey, marked by numerous stops and starts. Their latest offering, "Glory," is an album co-produced by the band's own Brett Emmons and Frederik Thaae, a work that encapsulates the profound artistic vision they've nurtured over the years. This album ignites with a vivid sonic approach and raw, heartfelt lyricism, bearing emotional truths that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.Brett Emmons, the band's lead singer-songwriter, reflects on their evolution: "I think that all this time has allowed us to very slowly hone in on something that just feels a little bit bigger, something a bit more anthemic and celebratory."Like any true rock 'n' roll band, The Glorious Sons spent a significant portion of their journey on the road, from headlining tours to festival performances and even three unforgettable stadium shows supporting legends like The Rolling Stones. More recently, they headlined alongside Pearl Jam at London, England's Hyde Park. The global pandemic brought their touring to a halt, offering the band a rare chance to reflect on their accomplishments. During this period, they composed nearly 40 new songs fueled by the intense emotions and anxieties that arose during the global shutdown. However, as Brett Emmons explains, these tracks didn't align with the band's core narrative:Nevertheless, The Glorious Sons turned adversity into an opportunity for growth. It encouraged them to recalibrate their goals and overarching vision, pushing them to become better producers and embrace their own sensitivities and sentimentality. They realized that they needed assistance and found it in the form of Danish producer, composer, and musician Frederik Thaae, with whom they had previously collaborated on their studio albums.Upon reuniting with Thaae in July 2022 at Brett Emmons' cottage near Kingston, the band felt an immediate sense of belonging. Emmons reminisces, "It just felt like being back at home...Getting that connection back with him was an important feeling for me. It felt like I had a sparring partner again, the way I needed to.""I just wanted it to be huge," Emmons shares. "I wanted it to sound wide open, that feeling of your chest being an open field. I wanted to be unapologetically ambitious."From their inception, The Glorious Sons have achieved the remarkable feat of sounding both familiar and groundbreaking. They have redefined what it means to be a rock 'n' roll band in the modern era. With "Glory," The Glorious Sons have pushed themselves to the brink, creating something meaningful, authentic, and uniquely their own.Brett Emmons sums up their journey: "We spent a long, long time on the hamster wheel when we started out, and now, I want to just take things as they come. For the first time in my life, I feel like the way people receive This episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

Samantha Pickard brings an international outlook to Strut and a vast understanding of the North American and Australian music and entertainment industries. As a thirty-two-year entertainment industry-veteran she contributes a diverse skill set through her years working as a retail buyer, artist manager, promotions and event manager, GM of an entertainment publishing company, in addition to her 15 years leading the public relations, marketing and event team at Strut Entertainment. The road to Canada began when Samantha took on a three-year role in Radio Promotions at Sydney based, Australian music industry trade magazine, The Music Network (TMN). When TMN partnered with Quebec-based music industry heavyweight, Donald Tarlton (aka Donald K Donald), to launch a Canadian version of TMN, The Canadian Music Network (CMN) in 2001, Samantha landed the role of General Manager and relocated to Toronto. Over a five-year span, CMN's in-house publishing arm took on the publication of the JUNO Award and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards programs. In that time, Samantha also established the Canadian Entertainment Magazine to service the home entertainment business, the Canadian Entertainment Network Awards as well as an independent event-planning firm, Splash Event Management. Over fifteen years ago Samantha re-launched Splash under the name Strut Entertainment, with an eye to offering a degree of personal attention and customized service other, larger companies couldn't. Event planning is still part of the suite of services Strut provides but owing to the vast network of contacts Samantha has developed in the corporate world and entertainment industry, public relations, social media, marketing, and influencer services – for clients in the entertainment, music, and lifestyle industries – are the driving force of the business. Samantha has executed hundreds of public relations campaigns and events including G'Day Toronto for Tourism Australia, the Rolling Stones 50 Years Tour, Walk Off The Earth, the Taylor Swift Speak Now and RED campaigns, Lauv, Commander Chris Hadfield, The Weeknd, Rush, Hanson, Marianas Trench, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, Finneas, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jungle, Girl In Red, Jimmie Allen., Howie D and Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys), Fossil, Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw, The Trews, Dita Von Teese, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, The Glorious Sons, Dan Mangan, The Tea Party, Blue Man Group, So You Think You Can Dance Canada, numerous campaigns for Warner Bros Canada, Gaiam, Universal Music Canada, CIMA, Anthem Entertainment Group, The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), New Balance Canada and Jabra. A former board member of CARAS (The JUNO Awards) and executive board member of CMAO, Samantha is also a sought-after guest speaker and mentor and has working with companies including Toronto's Centennial College, The SOCAN Foundation, Canadian Public Relations Society, MetalWorks, Music Publishers Canada, Rotmans Commerce Women in Business and for the Urban Music Association, she is also a long-term mentor for Canadas' Music incubator and founder of Strut Social.
