Hello to you listening in McHenry, Illinois!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Maybe it's true and maybe it isn't but once there was a corrupt politician in the 1920's named John A. McCarthy; but he was known as Fishhooks McCarthy. He lived and worked on the Lower East Side of New York City. Being a devout man every morning he stopped at a little Catholic Church, St. James Church on Olive Street, to pray. Same prayer every day: “O Lord, give me health and strength. We'll steal the rest.” Fishhooks sounds like one of those politicians you shouldn't trust; but people remembered him as a Robin Hood who used graft and corruption to redistribute money to his unemployed and working class poor constituents.Let me be very clear! I am not advocating for theft, bribery, corruption, immorality, stepping outside the law, and all the rest. We have more than enough of that with the Trump/MAGA Regime. What I am saying is that in these historic times we have once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to examine our core values, our moral code, and ask ourselves: what do I stand for and what won't I stand for?Question: While you have health and strength what can you do to be of good use? You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Today on the 5: One thing that people who are skeptical about AI often point to is the lack of genuinely beneficial applications of the technology. The marketing and hype often centers on the least worthwhile aspects of what these tools can do. You can imagine my shock at seeing it put to a truly GOOD use recently!

Sure, filling up that dweeb with hunk juice worked out well for everyone, but surely there were some other ideas to use all that super soldier serum? Did Stanley Tucci ever have a think “what if horse?”. The kicks alone would have powered a million propagandas! The problem there we guess is we don't know the ideology of the horse. Plus giving it to say, war dogs who have already seen battle and suffering from incredible amounts of PTSD seems a sure fire way of making smart dogs whomst hate America. If we gave it to everyone we face the problem of maybe not everyone in America is pro-America. The only feasible solution was to make a juice that makes you weak and dumb and let that get stolen. The only problem there is three podcasters will inevitably make that juice part of their daily requirements.Links to everything in our linktr.ee including our terrible merch, social media garbage and where to become a subscriber to Bad Brain Boys+ Hosted on Acast. Latest studies tell us that sales reps only spend about 35% of their time selling. This has been fairly consistent for the last few decades or more. But new tech should be able to shift that number significantly, so what do sellers do with the rest of that time, and what can they do to maximize their time when not actively selling and what they can do to make that 35% more profitable? Listen to this highlighted exchange from some of the top sellers in the business - Michael Litt, Co-Founder and CEO at Vidyard, Wesleyne Whittaker, Founder and Chief Transformation Officer at Transformed Sales, and Karen Kelly Owner at K2 Sales Academy, are here to give you their insights and knowledge on the subject.Check out the full episode featuring the guests listed above on Andy's Website, Apple Podcasts, or SpotifyHost Andy Paul is the expert on modern B2B selling and author of three best-selling, award-winning sales books, including his latest Sell Without Selling Out. Do you ever feel like there are not enough minutes in the day to get all the things done? Or lament that you're not using your time productively? Well, what if your fixation on productivity was actually unproductive?! I'm fairly certain it is! In today's episode, I reflect on a heart-stopping quote from Carl Sagan that makes our secret desire to win a productivity ribbon each day seem pretty darn absurd. So, if you struggle with time management, this episode is for you. We'll explore the liberating idea that there is, in fact, no universal “Good Use of Time Scale.” You are the only person who can determine what is and is not a good use of your time. But with this freedom come responsibility. You must define the parameters of valuable time use by getting clear on your goals and your values. And, of course, there is an eye-opening lab work exercise to help you look objectively at how you are spending your time right now. Remember, your time is not to be managed; it's meant to be lived. So, let's put the “own up” in grown up and start creating deliberate, self-authored days. We continue this week's sermon series, The Gospel of Luke, Part III: A Journey through Galilee in Luke 11:33-36. The text teaches us how we are to respond to the light and how it impacts life as a whole. Not only is this light necessary for you and me, it is necessary for everyone we come into contact with each day. Let us recall the old song, “This little light of mine,” and put it into practice. Tyler leads off with a great story in this way and shares how we can use the light to light the way both for ourselves and others.
Often when we go to a conference a CEO will pop up to give us an inspiring pep talk about how nothing good in the world happens without insurance and how our industry is one with a genuinely useful moral purpose that has a positive effect on everything that it touches. We may nod along and then think little more of it. But today's guest is living proof that those CEOs are right to feel inspired. That's because Ekhosuehi Iyahen, Secretary General at the Insurance Development Forum's (IDF) job is to harness the strong purpose of insurance to good effect in some of the countries in the world that can most benefit from it. Insurance is a business that brings together a vast array of different skills from science and engineering to statistics and finance all to try and prevent bad things from happening and to fix them when they do. But our skills and experience around prevention and risk mitigation are often lacking in developing countries that haven't yet grown sophisticated financial systems and that's where the IDF comes in, acting as a convener between the insurance industry, the aid community and international sovereign governments and local authorities on the ground. For instance how does a developing country know where to site its critical infrastructure if its country hasn't been properly modelled for natural hazards? Ekhosuehi is a really interesting and intelligent guest. She's also a very rare example of an academic of high intellect who has moved from the world of ideas to one of putting theory in practice on the ground. There are a lot of misconceptions to dispel – the first of which is the idea that what the IDF is doing is a form of charity. Nothing could be further from the truth – from this encounter you'll learn very quickly that the IDF's work is all about developing the vast new insurance markets of the future – and that these are long-term profitable commercial opportunities that will give rise to even bigger opportunities as they take hold. So listen on – if you have ever felt disillusioned at work and wondered whether what you do makes a difference, what you are about to hear should put a spring in your step.
