Are you looking to clean up your household cleaning products this year? MamaSuds would like to help! The best way is to simply start with one product. Every time you run out of a specific cleaning product, replace it with a non-toxic one. Another tip, purchase a product that has multiple uses. The MamaSuds Collection has many multiple use products (castile soap or the toilet bombs are just a few!). Their blog has lots of great tips and a castile soap recipe that you can print and make a lot of your own effective cleaners! Meet Jessica Honegger, author of the Amazon best-selling book, Imperfect Courage, host of the podcast Going Scared, and mom of three.  In 2010, Jessica and her husband Joe needed a way to raise funds to adopt their son, Jack, from Rwanda. While on a trip to Uganda, the Honeggers met Jalia and Daniel Matovu, who created beautiful handmade goods, but lacked a stable marketplace to ensure their livelihood. Honegger saw a solution to both of their problems: by selling the Matovus’ jewelry back in the US, she could raise funds to adopt her son, while simultaneously generating revenue for Jalia and Daniel. The overwhelming reaction to the Matovus’ story and products propelled Honegger to turn her at-home fundraiser into an actual company, and Noonday Collection was born.  Jessica’s innate desire to create meaningful opportunities for others, paired with an unwavering passion for social entrepreneurism, has earned her notable accolades, including 2015 Person of the Year by Austin lifestyle magazine, TRIBEZA. In 2017, she received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, which recognizes entrepreneurs who are excelling in areas such as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their business and communities. Does the fear of ‘no’ keep you from creating something new? Are you afraid you may waste time pursuing the wrong things if you really go for it? It can be scary to step into a new opportunity, especially when you feel your path isn’t very ‘linear.’ Wouldn’t it be easier if everything made sense from the beginning?! In this episode, Jordan brings on award-winning social entrepreneur, CEO of the fashion impact brand, Noonday Collection, and author of Imperfect Courage, Jessica Honegger, to remind us all of what it means to make steps forward even when the fear is still present – and even when we don’t have a clear picture of what’s next. You’ll learn the importance of deciding right now that your 'why' is worth the risk, why you need to define what your end goal of success looks like for you, and the Sisterhood Effect mindset you need to adapt ASAP. Sister, if you’ve ever found yourself frozen by fear or paralyzed by the unknown, pull up a seat and borrow some courage from Jessica and Jordan to step into that open door built just for you. @jordanleedooley @shepodcast Episode Details: Jordan's Book: https://jordanleedooley.com/book Jessica Honegger Link: https://jessicahonegger.com

Today I talk with Noonday Founder and CEO Jessica Honegger. She is so fun and funny to talk with. We talk about how she is courageously accepting herself and in turn that helps her celebrate others well. Celebrating our own flaws and loving our whole selves helps us have freedom to love others well.    We laugh a lot, but there are so many nuggets of truth about loving ourselves with authenticity so we love others well.   We talk about rest and hustle, and she tells a great story of loving others intentionally when we may feel insecure ourselves. We talk about staying in the uncomfortable and being vulnerable.   She gives us some practical steps to accept ourselves and others.   Jessica has written a book all about this called Imperfect Courage which is one of my favorite books of the year.   Click here or full links and show notes

What if there was a way to make the world a better place while you shop for cute jewelry and accessories that you love? Wait, you didn't know there already is?! You must not have heard of Noonday Collection before! Enter Emily. Emily Chappell is a wife, mom, educator, and Noonday ambassador. In this episode, Emily is telling us alllll about Noonday and more generally about being a conscious consumer. To view the full show notes, keep reading here or visit my website: www.heartfelthippie.com Noonday began 8 years ago when the founder, Jessica Honegger, was adopting internationally. Now, Jessica co-runs the largest fair trade, direct sales fashion brand in the world! This company is single-handedly changing the reputation of direct sales. It works like this: artisans across the globe living in marginalized communities make beautiful products, and then ambassadors in the US sell their products where there is a market for them, and both earn an income! Oh, and did I mention they are fair trade certified, a Certified B Corporation, and make their products out of recycled, natural materials? Emily actually got to witness all of this when she went to Peru with Noonday to visit some of the artisans, which she tells us all about in the show. Emily also explains why shopping ethically is important no matter where you're shopping from. She teaches us how we can be more conscious consumers, and how that doesn't automatically mean you need to quit shopping at your favorite stores. Rather, it can be as simple as checking where a product was made before purchasing it. When we as consumers increase the demand for ethically-made goods, we are going to make an impact on this world and the labor behind the label. If you are listening to this, you are most likely living in a well-established country, which means that you have a responsibility. How cool is it that we can take action in such fun ways as supporting companies like Noonday? You can also join in the fun by supporting Noonday and hosting a trunk show! Ask Emily how! With the holiday season here, we all know that this time is filled with shopping and gift-giving. As you listen to this episode, think about how you can make your purchases count for something that really matters. Have a Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday season, and now go check out Noonday! In 2015, Inc. Magazine recognized Noonday Collection as one of the fastest-growing companies in America. But years earlier, as Jessica Honegger stood at a pawn-shop counter in Austin, Texas, and handed over her grandmother's gold jewelry, her goal was much more personal: to fund the adoption of her Rwandan son, Jack, by selling artisan-made jewelry. This first step launched an unexpected side-hustle that would grow into Noonday Collection. Jessica embarked on this new journey and teamed up with her first artisan partner, Jalia, a Ugandan jewelry maker. She saw the meaningful impact Noonday brought to Jalia's community and knew it was the right move. Fear crept into Jessica's heart as she realized her success, or failure, meant the same for Jalia. But refusing to let fear hinder her goals, Jessica found the necessary (if imperfect) courage she needed along the way — the courage to leave comfort and embrace a life of risk and impact. In this episode, Branden and Jessica talk about the Enneagram, moving forward even when experiencing fear, and the difficulties of running a business. soundsgoodpodcast.com/jessica ——— Sponsor: For listeners of Sounds Good, Schmidt’s Naturals is offering free shipping when you use the code GOOD at SchmidtsNaturals.com.

If you've been in business for any amount of time-heck, if you've been living for any amount of time-you've encountered fear. We always think of fear as a bad sign. But in truth, fear is not a sign that we're doing something bad; it's a sign we're doing something bold. So many times in life fear can hold us back from doing the thing we're really meant to do. Just because you're good at something doesn't mean you don't get scared. When Fear Makes You Doubt Your Ability I was 10 years old the first time I realized I was a good runner-at the skate center of all places. It gave me incredible confidence as a 10-year-old to discover something I was naturally good at. It was this realization that led me to join the track team in middle and high school. Despite my natural running ability and the fact that I loved running, the strangest thing happened before every race. I got scared. I'm not talking about the normal "prerace butterflies." I mean, I was terrified. Being scared made me doubt my ability and made me want to quit. I would beg my coach to take me out of the race, and every time he made me go to the starting line. I love that about him. He made me do it anyway. You'd think that after running multiple events for multiple track meets over multiple years, I wouldn't have gotten scared anymore. But I always did. Then my coach did something that helped me change my focus and interrupt my thought pattern. At one of the track meets, I was begging him to take me out of the race, he looked me in the eyes, exasperated, and said, "Christy, will you just tell me one thing you like about yourself?" Confused, I answered him: "My blue eyes." "Great," he said. "Focus on that. I don't want you to think about the race, the other runners, or your time. Just focus on your blue eyes." Changing my focus from what I was scared about to what I was confident in was just enough to distract the fear out of me. Related: The Fear or Wisdom Filter Changing Your Focus to Overcome Fear Whether you choose to think about what you're scared of or what you're proud of, what you focus on will become magnified in your life. Focusing on what you're good at and what you're proud of will encourage you to get better. Focusing on fear causes you to stay back, give up, or play small. I was a good runner, but fear made me doubt my training, my track record and my natural ability. It doesn't matter how many accomplishments you've earned. The fear can get so loud in your head that it makes you doubt yourself. But here's the good news: You get to choose what you focus on. The path to success doesn’t always seem clear, but when you focus on what you are confident in—instead of what you are fearful of—moving forward doesn’t seem so overwhelming. Why fuel your fear when you can focus on what you’re uniquely positioned to do with your gifts? Jessica Honegger is incredibly successful, but she’s no stranger to feeling scared. While researching adoption and visiting East Africa, she was presented with an opportunity to help sell beautiful goods made by local artisans. Jessica was facing mounting debt, and she saw this as an opportunity to not only help her family adopt a child, but to also help vulnerable communities prosper. Facing lots of uncertainty and fear, the Noonday Collection was born as a fair-trade accessories brand created to provide meaningful job opportunities for people around the world. There is never a time you’ll feel you have the perfect resources, education or knowledge. You just go with your gut and go at it scared. You just do it! In this episode, Jessica Honegger and I discuss how to “face your fears and do it scared.” You don’t have to know the answers, but you have to ask the questions. Take advantage of the opportunities and key relationships that God places in front of you. Understand what it means to “go scared” and stick with it when you have a vision. Embrace being unqualified and have the courage to say “yes” before you know how. Separate your identity from the outcome—no matter what it is. “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.” –J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone   Jessica Honegger is the author of Imperfect Courage: Live a Life of Purpose by Leaving Comfort and Going Scared and the Founder of socially conscious fashion brand Noonday Collection, the world's most successful fair trade fashion brand.   And in her book, Jessica shares the powerful story of Noonday: “The story of Noonday is so much bigger than me. It's the story of artisans all around the world. It's the story of entrepreneurs in young America. It's the story of my partner and I and my family.”   This story all began with a trip to Washington, D.C., where Jessica was shown poverty firsthand for the first time – “and that was really what sparked bravery in me, seeing this context of living outside of my own bubble, living outside of myself, being willing to go pioneer a new script.”   Jessica grew up in a community where everyone followed very traditional scripts that had a narrow view of success, but being exposed to the Church of the Savior, its founder Gordon Cosby, and the greater efforts of Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired Jessica to write a new script.   She didn't have the support of everyone she grew up with, she didn't even have the support of the voice in her head all the time, but she had to walk through her fear to reach the life of impact and meaning that she was destined for.   Because we can't let fear be a red flag, as Jessica describes. We have to view it as a yellow flag that means, no, walk this way and come see what's on the other side of that fear. “You can't really walk around fear – you just kinda have to walk through it.”   And when you read https://jessicahonegger.com/book/imperfect-courage/ ( Imperfect Courage), it will guide you through these same steps so that you can live the life of impact and meaning that you were meant to live, too.   --     Resources: Read: Imperfect Courage: Live a Life of Purpose by Leaving Comfort and Going Scared Listen: Going Scared Podcast Shop Noonday Collection: noondaycollection.com Connect with Jessica: Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn   --   We are brought to you by the Lawton Marketing Group, a full-service advertising and design agency serving companies and entrepreneurs at all levels.   Jessica Honegger is the founder of Noonday Collection, a soaring business that designs and sells fair trade jewelry and accessories made by artisans around the world. She's also the author of Imperfect Courage. In the book, released in August, Jessica she shares her story about how she launched Noonday Collection as an inspired side hustle and provides guidance on soul searching, collaborating and broadening your circle of passion.   In today's episode of I Want Her Job: The Podcast, we talk to Jessica about how she pushed through fear to create a global organization that is changing the world. We also talk about the book's theme: You will be scared when doing new things and stretching outside of your comfort zone. But, you need to go forward anyway. You need to run scared toward a life of purpose and adventure.   "We avoid real issues, fear of the world, and it leads to a life of boredom, a lack of impact, spiritual death," as she describes it in her book. There is a certain power in being scared, and going forward anyway. There is a beautiful world waiting for you on the other side.   Jessica's personal story is a case study for the extraordinary joy and fulfillment that comes from using your unique talents to help others, while also stretching and growing yourself into higher levels of living. She encourages to view your life path with vulnerability, adding empathy for yourself and others. Listen in and hear how she turned her fear into fortune for herself and others, and you might just get an idea for how you can make a major impact, too!

In this episode we discuss: How to start doing what God is calling you to when you don't know the master plan Making your days count How to deal with difficult seasons   Favorite quotes: I never felt like I had to have it all together, I would have liked that, but that's not the story that God has ever given me. The “But God” parts are the best parts of life. We miss the “But God” parts when we are trying to measure up and achieve. We're looking for self-esteem but we really just need the supernatural power of God. The greatest way to get over ourselves is to think about other people and to fix our eyes on Jesus. How do you that in the greatest form? Take risks. Until you know that God catches you, it's harder to jump. Once you know that He catches you, you jump more readily and take a higher cliff. I am a mistake maker. It's what I do. However, God has given me my worth, not that mistake maker place in my soul...I don't let it become my identity and my worth. If something is from God, you can know that all of Hell will come against it.     In this episode I answer these questions: Do you ever feel extra pressure to not ever feel busy, worried, or unhappy because you write books on how to overcome it? How do you balance living what you teach? Whenever I try to teach on anything, I feel like a hypocrite because I can't walk it out perfectly. (48:10) How can I help my kids develop their own faith and not just depend on my faith? (51:07) How do you know when it's the right time to quit your job and go full in on your running your own business. (54:0)     Links to great things we discussed: 1. The Year of Living Happy 2. Basically, Emily Harris is a freaking baller. For many moons Emily dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. She moved to New York when she was young, worked for some high-profile designers, and even made an appearance on Project Runway… Now, this wife and mama is running her own business making fashion pieces with a purpose. This wasn't how she expected it to go, but what a beautiful journey it's been. To view the full show notes, continue reading here or visit my website: www.heartfelthippie.com For this convo, Emily is bravely and humbly sharing her story. We talked a lot about her fashion journey and how she entered the world of designing. While dreaming of her future career, someone asked Emily a challenging question: “How can fashion improve the world?” This thought shaped the rest of Emily's career as she set out to use her passions and talents to make this place that we live even better. Mrs. Emily is now an 8 year old company! Emily started her brand when she was becoming a first-time mom but quickly realized that running a business and doing the mom thing wouldn't work so peacefully together. Now that her mini-me is in school, Emily has been hustling - hustling HARD - to keep building the brand. I loved hearing how Emily's experiences - both the fun and the hard - have shaped her designs. The quippy and relatable sayings that are on her tees and caps come from her own life experiences. The first tee that Emily designed reads, “I DID NOT EXPECT IT TO BE THIS HARD.” ‘Nuff said. Emily and I also chat ethical fashion in this episode. Emily shares a unique perspective of the “labor behind the label” movement that will resonate with all consumers. Emily's biggest tip: don't buy so many clothes, only what you really love and will wear the crap out of. If we can start buying less and choosing better, we can help ourselves AND mother earth! Finally, Emily shares why buying pieces that we love with our whole hearts is so important. Not only will we treasure those pieces more and take care of them better, but they're going to give you more confidence. I can't say it any better than Emily did: “Your confidence is power.” The better we feel about ourselves, which is often rooted in how we look, the more initiative we will have to get.our.ish.DONE. Oh, and don't fret: if you've spent any time drooling over Emily's Instagram and how she styles her home and her wardrobe, she is sharing alllllll the fashion tips with us today, too! My guest for The Happy Hour # 206 is Jessica Honegger. Jessica is an award-winning social entrepreneur with a passion for catalyzing others to step outside their comfort zones and live lives of purpose. Jessica is the founder and co-CEO of Noonday Collection, a social impact fashion brand dedicated to designing and selling an inspired collection of jewelry and accessories made by Artisans in vulnerable communities. Noonday Collection was featured in Inc. magazine’s 2015 list of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in America at number 45. Jessica won the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year for central Texas in 2017. You guys know I am a fan of all things Noonday, and I'm so happy to welcome Jessica back to The Happy Hour as we discuss leadership, showing up for each other, being more present, and celebrate the launch of her first book! Jessica and I start off the show talking about leadership. Jessica talks about how leadership can happen in the everyday. Friends, this means each one of us has the capacity to lead. Leadership is about recognizing what we see in others and helping each other feel seen. This is such an encouragement -  every single one of us has the power to lead, every day. Whether it's a note to a friend recognizing what they're doing or telling your neighbor or co-worker what you appreciate about them, we can all do this for each other! We talk about the struggle in our culture to be present, and the need for time to rest. Jessica shares her own challenges with finding balance. I think we can all relate to feeling like it's impossible to take a break, and it seems like the answer should be to work harder to get it all done, right? But, as Jessica describes, what we actually need, and what can help us truly be more productive is if we take time to rest. Jessica and I also talk about her hopes and desires for her book Imperfect Courage. We talk about handling criticism, and I appreciate Jessica's strength in creating spaces to have meaningful dialogues where it's okay to disagree. In the last part of the show, we have a ton of fun doing Q&A from you! As always, I loved having Jessica on the show and know you'll be encouraged by our conversation. And I'm putting forth a challenge: let's ask ourselves, how can we show up for someone this week? Thriving Beyond Belief with Cheryl Scruggs

Thank you for joining us today on Thriving Beyond Belief! I am so happy to have Jessica Honegger with me today on the podcast. The central word of this podcast resonates with Jessica, as the company she founded, Noonday Collection, centers around helping others thrive. In her new book, Imperfect Courage, she shares so much about her journey! From helping women get jobs, celebrating the family unit, and being a creative outlet, Noonday Collection helps others use their gifts for the Lord and helping others be all they were created to be. Jessica shares with us what thriving means to her, and it is evident in how she lives her life. Jessica shares her life with her husband and three children in Texas. She shares how the adoption of her third child helped launch all that she does today. While speaking on her own story, Jessica discusses how the purpose of her life came after years of what seemed like random avenues. We discuss the fact that the path to success is not a linear path, and to never compare your beginning to someone else's middle. The Lord weaves together our story and brings all things together, if we are willing to trust Him on the "faith walk". If we lean into Him when the path does not seem clear, He is faithful to the promise He gave each of us. Choosing anxiety, cynicism, and disappointment is the easy path in life. But to choose love, purpose, and vulnerability takes hustle and hard work. Those things require effort. To choose peace is an active decision and requires time spent with the Lord. There are so many sweet nuggets of truth in this episode about what true courage is (which is the topic of her new book, Imperfect Courage), what true surrender is, how to trust the Lord when He tells us who He is, and how to embrace the waiting periods He has us in. Remember that in the seasons of waiting, He invites you to wait WITH Him. It's not a stagnant state, but rather an active time with the Lord. She encourages women that we can be excellent in all of our roles. Excellence is not mutually exclusive and it is a plot of the enemy to think we can't be a good wife, mom, CEO, etc. God has created us all with unique passions, and He will be faithful to let us succeed in all of our roles. I can't wait for you to listen in on this episode today. So grab a cup of coffee, put in your earbuds, and enjoy!

“She was powerful. Not because she wasn't scared, but because she went on so strongly despite the fear.”-Atticus Pause and let that sink in. This episode, I am talking with Jessica Honegger, author of Imperfect Courage, the Going Scared Podcast, and the founder of Noon Day Collection. We'll be talking about fear, something Jessica is well aquainted with. Put In the Effort   “Stop saying ‘it's hard'. Start saying ‘it requires effort.'” Noonday started off as a side gig to raise funds to adopt their son. She was making handmade jewelry and before she knew it, she was running a business. “I'm waiting for this point of arrival where things are going to feel effortless, I guess.”   When you say something is hard, it puts you in a place of wishing for the past and simplicity instead of leading you forward. Coming back from vacation, she was on the home stretch of her book release, but she shifted her mindset away from the dread and toward the excitement by reminding herself that she chose this path. Using Your Voice We talk about how changing your language is the key to changing your mindset. You are not a victim of your circumstances. You have a say in how your life pans out. It's key to personally find your own limiting beliefs, but also vocalize them with someone. She talks about her experience comparing herself to someone else in her area of work.   “This is basically jealousy and that's not living my best life.” We talk about how bringing dark to light gives less power to the shame. (You can read more about this in her book!) Jessica acknowledges that it is completely normal to feel shame, so we can't be afraid of bringing it to light.     Long Term Relationship With Fear   “There are times when fear has been in the driver seat of my life.” She recalls the moment she started getting serious about her business when somebody else wanted to put everything they had into helping her business. She was afraid that the success would be hard and having other people depend on her would be scary. “Success leads to responsibility and accountability.” She notes that it's possible to fear success and failure at the same time. “I thought ‘I better wait until I'm not afraid.' The life of fearlessness is a sham.” She shares that there is no such thing as getting around fear, the only way to approach it is to move through it. “Fear isn't in the driver seat of my life. It's at the back of a really long limo.” When you move through the fear, you make room for more connection with others in your life.     When What You Fear Happens We talk about the fact that sometimes what we fear does happen! And that is not the end of the world. The key is to not be afraid of letting it be our defining factor. “We need to identify where we are identifying value and worth from.” Take risks and don't tie your identity to the outcome. Take a step back, and find the source of these fears and tell them, “you are disinvited from my party, you are no longer welcome.”   Embracing the ‘And'   You can have fear and have courage, work hard and rest hard. Too often we get caught up in the absolute and think we can only be one thing or the other. “You have an idealized version of yourself in your mind.” We will never have a life fully free of fear, free of jealousy, free of unhappiness, free of stress. Fear of not being enough will keep you locked up from all the happiness and success that awaits you. “We're afraid if we're going to stop being frantic we're going to feel all of our feelings.”     We've only just scratched the surface, friends. To hear more about Jessica's thoughts on this topic, you can read her new book! If you order her book today, it will get to you on August 14th. Get ordering!   This episode is brought to you by the free PDF guide called “Moving Through Fear.” It is full of resources that I hope will help guide you through rejecting the lies in your life and finding the truth.
