Too often, we seek to get by doing the least we can do. And, after a while, the least we can do becomes a way of life for many of us. The problem is that we then work and live well below our ability and level of performance possible. And this habit or way of living begins to take over our life. Imagine an Olympic athlete whose attitude is to do the least they can do in their training as they prepare for the Olympics. It would be foolish to assume you could excel with that mindset. World class athletes instead do the most they can do to reach their goals. For example, many people dream of becoming wealthy without having to put forth any effort. Today's episode begins with a discussion of why playing the lottery seems tempting but is an unwise investment. McKay points out that the real lottery winners are the IRS and state governments, which take in almost half of the winnings, while those who buy the tickets lose week after week and would be better off putting that money into savings instead. He argues that we've developed a habit of wanting to do the least possible to earn money but that this attitude will catch up to us eventually, like a bank robber who makes one mistake and loses the money and their freedom. Instead, McKay encourages a change in attitude, leaving behind “the least possible” and instead developing a culture of excellence in ourselves, our families, and our work environments. Using examples of big-name companies, including Procter & Gamble and Disney, he demonstrates how the pursuit of excellence can have huge benefits, both in business and in our personal lives. The Finer Details of This Episode:- Why do so many people play the lottery despite the odds being stacked against them?- Federal and state governments are the big lottery winners- The story of Alan Pace, who tried to get rich by doing the least possible (by robbing a bank) but wound up in jail after one simple mistake- How to encourage your children to strive for excellence (featuring the story of creating spelling bee champs by encouraging teamwork)- Scarcity mentality vs. abundance mentality in the workspace- The pursuit of excellence as a business strategy- Disney's development of The Lion King as an example of the pursuit of excellence in action Quotes: “Let's say I put $100 million inside a house somewhere in North America, somewhere in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, etc. And then I gave you a key, and you had to pick the right house, you had one chance to pick the right house. Those are better odds than your winning the Mega Millions lottery.” “I also think people enjoy the fantasy of it, they dream of what it would be like to have all of that money, right? And that's a little exciting and brings excitement to their day. But most of all, I think they get in the habit of chasing the least they can do to be wealthy.” “If I were to ask you if you'd rather win the lottery or not, of course, you'd rather win the lottery, right? But here's a proven fact. When you have to work to build wealth, you build yourself, you build your life, you build your capabilities.” “The least we can do becomes a way of life for many of us.” “When you begin, even in small ways to invite excellence into your life, you will feel a spirit of self-worth and peace enter into your life. And that spirit will invite you to rise, to do things with the best part of you, instead of the least part of you.” “Excellence is not an act but a habit.”“When you stop doing the least you can do and do your best, it brings you back to who you can and should be. It restores you, your hope and your future. Excellence...

“Where did this concept come from, that in order to fix our pain, we just need to stretch more?” asks host Dr. Andrew Fix on this episode of The Code, after assessing a number of runners ahead of a major racing day in Colorado. Many athletes who experience joint pain mistakenly think that their problem is a lack of range of motion or tissue mobility—when actually, when they are assessed, they have quite a wide range of mobility, even on the joint experiencing pain. More often than not, Dr. Fix argues, the issue is a lack of strength and control in that joint. He breaks down the mechanics of movement when playing sports—particularly long distance running—and what leads to the pain we experience even when we stretch, or apply external applications like tape and braces. He explains why increasing our movement habits is important but ultimately won't home in on the pain, and what you actually need to do to get to the root of the problem. Humans have evolved to be active on our feet. After this episode, you'll understand better how to keep moving forward free from pain. Quotes • “Let's not just tape your knee, because what we know is, KT tape or rock tape any one of these external things—a knee brace for example—they don't fix the problem. They can temporarily change symptoms and give you some sensory input.” (2:18 | Dr. Andrew Fix) • “In almost every single one of them, on the same side that they had knee pain, we saw either a lack of control or strength in their hip. We had them balance on one foot, it's really hard. We tested their hip motion, I think a few of them actually had more motion on their “affected” side, the side where they had knee pain. But when we tested their strength, boy, was it lacking. Boy, was it less on the side that they had the knee pain.” (7:08 | Dr. Andrew Fix) • “It does not take a lot of ‘mobility' or I should say ‘range of motion' to go through and do these activities. We have to demonstrate great control and great stability in these small ranges of motion, especially in an activity like running because there's impact involved.” (9:21 | Dr. Andrew Fix) • “If you're lacking mobility and you're starting to have symptoms, stretching might be appropriate for you, but you have to do some sort of assessment, some sort of a screening process and look at things and figure out what the actual deficits at play here, the limitations in my body or my training that could be responsible for these symptoms.” (11:50 | Dr. Andrew Fix) Links https://andrew7ng.podbean.com/e/93-mobility-vs-stiffness-striking-the-perfect-balance/ SideKick Tool: https://bit.ly/4a6CqJS Movemate: Award-Winning Active Standing Board https://shorturl.at/egkA1 Promo Code: DRA15 15% off Flux Footwear Coupon Code: drandrewfix 10% off https://flux.rfrl.co/dyq8r LMNT: drinklmnt.com/physioroom RAD Roller: http://radroller.refr.cc/drandrewfix Revogreen https://revogreen.co/drandrewfix HYDRAGUN https://bit.ly/43rAtnX Athletic Brewing: 20% off: https://athleticbrewing.rfrl.co/vrmx8 20% off: ANDREWF20 Connect with Physio Room: Website | https://physioroomco.com/ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/physioroomco/ Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/physioroomco Andrew's Personal Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/drandrewfix/ Andrew's Personal Facebook | https://www.facebook.com/andrew.fix.9/ Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

It hits especially close to home for Melissa who also lost her mother... but for some reason the show also wants to convince you that Kelly's dad died as well? Is this about Kelly's fight with Christi somehow?Meanwhile Abby decides to pit Maddie and Chloe against each other by giving them the same solo to perform. Christi notes this isn't fair to Chloe who isn't receiving secret training the way Maddie is, but Abby could care less. When Abby's little ploy doesn't go as planned, she takes matters into her own hands. Tune-in to hear the full story of what the cameras didn't show.Quotes“Let's just say Two Girls, One Solo/Two Girls, One Cup… whoever named this is an actual degenerate of society. Are we on the brink of a real estate revolution? In this episode, we navigate the terrain of legal challenges and industry transformations with the expertise of Patti Ketcham. Our discussion hones in on the ramifications of recent lawsuits against the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and how they're shaping the future of agent compensation and real estate practices. Patty sheds light on the need for real estate professionals to redefine their value proposition to clients amidst the shifting sands of commission negotiation and the possible onset of zero compensation listings. Our conversation spans the influence of social media, the misconceptions about the need for real estate services, and the impact of regulatory overcorrections on both the industry and consumers. Patti Ketcham stands out as a formidable force in Florida's real estate sector. At the helm of The Ketchum Group in Tallahassee, she is an esteemed broker, a revered instructor, and a pivotal member of the Florida Real Estate Commission. Patti's extensive experience and insightful leadership have made her an influential voice in shaping industry standards and educating the next wave of realtors. Dedicated to professional growth and industry integrity, Patti Ketcham's influence extends beyond transactions to the very heart of Florida's real estate community. In a rapidly evolving market, how can real estate agents stay relevant and resilient? Join us as we unpack these questions and more! [00:00 - 14:16] Adapting to New Market Norms and The Legal Landscape of Real Estate Adaptability is Key: Real estate professionals must stay informed and adaptable to industry changes. It's critical to have transparent conversations with buyers about how agents are compensated and the value they bring to the transaction. Real estate agents should articulate their value proposition to clients, reinforcing the importance of their services regardless of the compensation structure. Future-proof your practices by preparing for market shifts such as the emergence of zero compensation listings and adapt their business models accordingly. [14:17 - 28:44] Navigating Transparency, Education, and Value There's a significant gap in understanding between real estate professionals and consumers regarding agent compensation; transparency is crucial to bridge this gap. Buyers and sellers often do not realize the breakdown of commissions and the actual income of agents We need better financial literacy in real estate transactions. Real estate professionals have a duty to educate clients on how they are compensated and to dispel any misconceptions regarding their earnings. The real estate industry must ensure new agents are well-trained in contracts, neighborhood knowledge, and providing true value rather than relying on "shiny" marketing tactics. [28:45 - 39:48] Beyond the MLS: The Future of Home Selling and Buying As technology changes the landscape of real estate, professionals must adapt to new methods of marketing and selling homes. Recognize that industries often overcorrect before finding balance, and prepare for these shifts rather than fearing them. Stay flexible and informed Continuously learn and remain adaptable to serve the evolving needs of buyers and sellers effectively. Real estate agents should refine their ability to articulate their value proposition to clients in an ever-changing market. [39:49 - 47:29] Closing Up: Building Relationships and Expertise Building and maintaining professional relationships is crucial in real estate; it's never too late to start, but the sooner, the better. Real estate isn't just about transactions; it's about providing a service with a servant's heart, especially in the residential sector. Ethical practice and a deep understanding of real estate fundamentals are what will sustain professionals through industry shifts and legal challenges. At the end of the day: Embodying kindness, respect, and grace can be more beneficial and rewarding than simply outsmarting the competition. Quotes: “Let's look at future conversations we'll be having with our buyers; First of all, we've got to tell them how we're paid and what our value is.” – Patti Ketcham "A real estate sales contract is nothing but a set of promises between adults with deadlines." – Patti Ketcham "We're going to have to stay flexible… Those of us that have lasted through the years have adapted our services to the needs of our buyers and sellers as the market has changed." – Patti Ketcham "Maybe instead of maneuvering, strategizing, and outsmarting people, we go to kindness, respect, and grace." – Patti Ketcham To contact Patti Ketcham, learn more about her business, and make her a part of your network, make sure to visit her LinkedIn profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/patti-ketcham-4047764/ If you want to build your business and become more discoverable online, Streamlined Media has you covered. Getting the Gang Back Together Again The latest episode of the Ninja Selling podcast tackles the challenge that many brokerages have faced since the pandemic began: how to get agents back into the office. Together, Garrett and Matt examine the design and layout of real estate offices and explore how brokerages can restructure and create spaces that will entice agents to return. They discuss the history of remote work in the industry, the benefits and drawbacks of technology, and the importance of collaboration and face-to-face interaction. They also delve into the debate about whether physical office spaces are still necessary in the real estate industry, weighing the costs and benefits of having a designated space for agents to work and meet clients, while also exploring the impact on productivity and the importance of creating a comfortable and inviting space for consumers. Our hosts offer reflections on their own experiences and how the presence or absence of a physical office affects the energy of a brokerage. In the end, Matt and Garrett suggest that having a physical office space can positively impact the culture and emphasize the need for brokerages to focus on creating a culture of collaboration to make the office an appealing and productive space for agents. Another highly productive space can be found by joining the community of almost 10,000 Ninjas who collaborate, ask and answer questions, network, and more in the Ninja Selling Podcast group on Facebook at Ninja Selling Podcast Facebook. OverviewIt's May 1864, You are an officer in the Army of the Potomac during the first week of the Overland Campaign leading men into The Wilderness against the Confederacy. As you struggle to maneuver your soldiers in a straight enough line to engage the rebels within this 70-square-mile tract of thickets and dense forest... you may ask yourself... There comes a time on all of our journeys when we feel stuck, stagnant and questioning the path we're on. Like we *know inherently that we're not where we're supposed to be. While this time feels like a messy middle and the word confusing seems to be at the epicenter of it all, I also think this is the time for self-reflection. To stop and look at yourself and ask, “What is really off here?” I think this time is a sign you've outgrown where you're at and you're ready for something new. Be willing to outgrow yourself. To move forward, you just might have to give yourself permission to change, evolve and grow into who you really are. This was me a few months ago when I felt like something was missing and I wasn't sure what was actually going on in my life… In this episode, I'm sharing where I've been the past couple months, starting my journey of Self Love and healing and why I put a break on the FF Podcast. “If you're making a pivot, you have to first get clear on yourself. You have to make a plan and you have to take off bite-sized pieces,” explains Gina Riley, career transition coach and executive search consultant. Today, Gina joins host Kiley Peters to talk about how to pivot your career path as an entrepreneur or aspiring entrepreneur. When you are considering bringing on a new team member, it is important to find the right person for the job. The perfect candidate will not only have the skill sets and competencies to do the job well, but will also be passionate about the position and feel aligned with the company's values. In order to hire the right people, you have to ask the right questions during the interview. Using behavioral questions that are based on the actual skills required in the position is a proven way to get candidates to tell stories about relevant past job performances. If you are considering becoming an entrepreneur, but are not quite at that step yet, don't be afraid to make it a “slow burn”. Get very clear on who you are and what you want to achieve with your business, but do not leave your corporate job until you are fully secure. Before making a pivot on your career path it is vital that you get really sure about who you are as a person, what your values are, and what you want to achieve. Make a plan and start doing small steps rather than trying to make a huge change all at once. Quotes“Let's say you have to go to market or you need to bring in a new teammate. The first thing is to get very clear on what skills you need in that individual.” (11:57-12:06 | Gina) “The reason why you want to use behavioral questions is because you're going to be 85% more accurate in making your choice, because past stories are the best indicator of future performance.” (13:16-13:29 | Gina)“Sometimes we go down a path because we think it feels right or it's in our head, and then we realize in our gut, in our heart, it's not working. And we have to be humble enough to say, ‘Oh, I made a choice that wasn't the right direction for me'. So we may call that failure, but I call it learning. That's information that I shouldn't be heading that direction, and I need to realign.” (25:17-25:43 | Gina)“If you're making a pivot, you have to first get clear on yourself. You have to make a plan and you have to take off bite-sized pieces.” (30:10-30:20 | Gina)LinksConnect with Welcome to ElomaInstagram: @welcometoelomaWebsite: WelcometoEloma.comWeekly Email Newsletter: bit.ly/RIXEmail Connect with Gina RileyTwitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/atginarileyLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ginariley/ Connect with KileySocial: @kileypeters + Linkedin.com/in/kileypetersWebsites: RAYNEIX.com , BrainchildStudios.com,...

Surround yourself with high-level professionals. [1:11:39 - 1:17:41] Don't Forget to Add Value Brokers should be okay with stepping out and asking for help. Not every deal is right for you, and that's okay. Emily recommends setting a schedule and making time for your family. Coaching has helped Team Lloyd and his agents improve their business. [1:17:54 - 1:21:43] 2-Minute Warning Questions How Brad and Emily enjoy the North East Florida area. Who you know in life can change its trajectory. Quotes: “Let the agent align to who they are, not to who we are. Let them promote themselves” - Emily Lloyd "It's all about being consistent. No matter what you do, what works for you is all that matters." - Emily Lloyd “You have to have some grit about yourself to be successful. One, you gotta want it; and two, you gotta be willing to do whatever it takes to be where you want to be.” - Brad Lloyd "It's important to sharpen your sword. Be consistently doing something on the education piece, and to know the people you're working with.” - Emily Lloyd "It's not an uncomfortable conversation if I'm holding you accountable for something that you know you need to do to be successful." - Brad Lloyd "One of the greatest benefits about being in real estate is you get to make your own schedule, but it's also one of the biggest pitfalls." - Brand Lloyd Connect with the Lloyd Team over on Facebook and Instagram. Dare we recognize that consciousness is not some quality or power that we “own” and exercise individually, and that everything, including our precious self, is nothing but consciousness? Put down this book, look down at your body and ask yourself, “Is consciousness appearing in my body or is it my body that is appearing in this consciousness?” Don't go by your learned assumptions; just look openly and honestly, as if for the first time. Then ask, “Could this body even appear without consciousness? Could anything appear without this consciousness here?”What are we then? Are we our body as we have been told or are we consciousness, as we can directly observe for ourselves? In this excerpt from Brendan's upcoming course, “How to Create a Billion Dollar Sales Pitch,” you'll learn about the two key cognitive biases that you should keep in mind as you prepare a sales pitch: anchoring bias and groupthink bias. Anchoring bias essentially describes the way people will cling to the first piece of information they receive about a topic, and filter all subsequent information through this initial, embedded belief. Groupthink bias is the tendency of people to adopt the beliefs of the group to appease those around them. Recognizing these biases means realizing how hard it is to change someone's minds from their first understanding of a product or service, and how advantageous it is to present your product as a category leader, so that enough people will buy in that they sway even reluctant buyers. Understanding these two biases is highly beneficial not only to salesmanship, but to developing market strategies and investor strategies. In this episode of Billion Dollar Tech, you'll hear a highlight from Steven Novella's lecture “Your Deceptive Mind,” the true origins of the famous line “Nobody ever got fired for buying IBM,” and a quote from Steve Godin that sums it all up. Quotes “Let's take Covid that's going on right now, as we're recording this. Is it a conspiracy, or is it a real thing? Much of how you think of this is anchored on the first piece of information you got.” (1:47-1:56 | Brendan) “People so over-index on the first piece of information they're given, it's almost impossible to change people's minds.” (2:46- 2:52 | Brendan) “That's what you're trying to do: you're trying to say that people who adopt a similar identity to that of your ideal buyer do things like this, by what you sell.” (3:49-3:59 | Brendan) Connect with Brendan Dell: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brendandell/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BrendanDell Instagram: @thebrendandellTikTok: @brendandell39 Buy a copy of Brendan's Book, The 12 Immutable Laws of High-Impact Messaging: https://www.indiebound.org/book/9780578210926 Please don't forget to rate, comment, and subscribe to Billion Dollar Tech on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts! But it takes more courage to stand in the face of fear and first become acquainted with it so that you are not jarring yourself into action, and it takes courage to take the pause." - Jinny Uppal "Don't underestimate how much you already know because that will take you to wherever you want to go. In this episode of the Millionaire Mindcast, we have an incredible guest Jeff Lerner who shares his inspiring entrepreneurial journey, insights, and knowledge on how to achieve a digital real estate asset, digital economy, and how to build an online empire from no money! Jeff is an entrepreneur, speaker, investor, influencer, creative trainer to over 150,000 awesome life seekers, and CEO / Founder at ENTRE Institute, where he sold courses and training to help over 50,000 students that are developing their entrepreneurial skills. Also, he is digital hosting the popular "Millionaire Secrets" podcast and YouTube show, and working on his first full-length book "Millionaire Secrets: Things Rich People Know But Don't Tell You." In 2018, Jeff was really broke, out of work, depressed, evicted from his apartment, and almost got divorced from his wife. This was the time when he failed his 10th consecutive business, and was full of debts. But instead of getting a job, he found ways to start his online business. Jeff became an affiliate marketer where he discovered the whole new world of the digital and modern economy. Fortunately, he paid off half-million dollars of debts in just 18 months. Later on, he decided to engage in the disruption of mainstream education because Jeff believes that 100 million people are underserved by traditional education. Many graduated from colleges because it is a traditional way to achieve security, and to earn money. There were a lot of things that must be learned in order to succeed but never teach in school. His ambition is to create a standardized, formalized, high-quality, entrepreneurial curriculum that teaches like a university type of standard. Currently, Jeff is earning millions of dollars from his training and course masterpieces, and delighted in pursuing his passion for helping a lot of people to develop an entrepreneurial skill! Some Questions I Ask: What would you say your entrepreneurial journey has consisted of time frame wise? (16:21) What does the timeline and trajectory look like in terms of the opportunity here in this particular context? (33:33) Tell us a little bit more about Digital Real Estate? (35:43) When you think of your favorite digital real estate asset, what comes to mind? (41:05) Do you see a lot of people coming in because they actively want to build and do it themselves, what do you see in terms of that context? Lessons from Unsuccessful Partnerships Episode #352 with Paul Sletten Not having a transition plan is like running laps with no finish line — it's not fun, and you will plateau quickly. Whether you're looking to transition in the near or far future, today's guest will help you get started. Kirk Behrendt brings in Paul Sletten from The Sletten Group to share the best planning advice so you can create successful partnerships and have seamless transitions. If you want to transition successfully, listen to Episode 352 of The Best Practices Show! Main Takeaways: A successful transition begins with having a plan. Have a clear timetable for transitioning. Transition plans are not one-size-fits-all. Don't use your colleagues' plans. A practice transition plan and the dentist's life plan need to be connected. Know what an ideal candidate profile looks like for a particular role. Partnerships with family members require twice as much work. For successful partnerships, commit to communicating well. Quotes: “Let's talk about unsuccessful transitions. The biggest reason, by far, is that they don't have a plan. When a practice owner wants to transition a practice, either by adding another dentist at an appropriate time or transitioning out of the practice, everything flows from the plan of the owner. So, if the owner is unsure of how to do it, when to do it, and those kinds of things, then the other doctor who's under consideration for joining the practice can't make their plans either. So, it's critically important that the owner have a plan. And so often, they're using their friends or their colleagues' plan and contracts and haven't thought through their own issues.” (3:07—4:00) “There's another thing that's really important. And that is, there needs to be a connection between their practice transition plan and their life plans. They have to be connected. They have to be congruent.” (4:01—4:13) “A lot of times, they just kind of slap [transition plans] together. They meet somebody at a dental meeting, and the person makes a good impression and says, ‘You know, we ought to talk further.” And they do talk a little bit further. And the next thing you know, there's an invitation to come into the practice and get on a path to partnership, at some point. It's just miraculous if something like that would work. Some do. But the vast majority don't.” (4:18—4:47) “You have to have a timetable. How many people do we ask, ‘How much longer are you going to practice, and at what pace?' And the typical answer is five years. And then, you talk to some of them five years later and you ask them the same question, and they say, ‘Five years,' and so on. And so, what they're doing is they're just running laps with no finish line or no tape at the end. That's not fun. And then, the practice starts to go sour. It begins to plateau. And it can't sustain a plateau, so it begins to go into decline. And now, you're losing value for your practice.” (5:27—6:14) “If somebody's in a healthy financial condition, the seller, for example, at a closing table, you've got a really wonderful opportunity to put a win-win outcome together. If somebody comes to a closing table in a needy position, look out, buyer. Because they just absolutely need to sell it, but they also need to stick around and keep working. And that can raise other really nasty issues, because the patients need to start moving over to the new owner so they can pay the overhead expenses and begin to prosper, but they won't do so readily with the old owner in there.” (7:43—8:26) “It's so important to do the best match you can. For example, if you own a practice and you are in practice for 35 years and you're ready to transition, you and your team have been teaching your patients what to expect when they come to your practice for care for all 35 years. The new incoming dentist who will become the owner needs to know what those expectations are and what you've been teaching people to expect,

Bondo that follows the Overland Campaign led by General Ulysses S. Grant as he drives the Army of the Potomac on its 47-day, 113-mile military campaign South against the Confederacy in 1864. Quotes "Let me tell you what is coming. After the sacrifice of countless millions of treasure and hundreds of thousands of lives, you may win Southern independence if God be not against you, but I doubt it. I tell you that, while I believe with you in the doctrine of states rights, the North is determined to preserve this Union. They are not a fiery, impulsive people as you are, for they live in colder climates. But when they begin to move in a given direction, they move with the steady momentum and perseverance of a mighty avalanche; and what I fear is, they will overwhelm the South." -- Sam Houston, after refusing to swear an oath of loyalty to the Confederacy to which the legislature of Texas declared his governorship vacant, February/March 1861. Around this time of year, Matt and Garrett typically start to notice agents getting distracted by shiny objects, and letting their Ninja Systems slide. Today they’re here to set us back on track, and warn against neglecting our foundational activities, such as making F.O.R.D. calls, building relationships, and writing notes. The Ninja Systems offer safety and security in every market, and if they begin to feel tedious, it’s important to remember the big picture of how they will help you reach your long-term goals, both for yourself and most importantly, for your clients. Matt reminds us that mastering the mundane is what differentiates those who are good from those who are exceptional. Today’s episode will show you how to reinvigorate your Ninja Systems, and once again find the fun and joy in building your business. Our hosts explain why relationships are the foundation for your success, how they allow you to weather any storm and thrive in any market, and the importance of maintaining those connections consistently. Garrett shares the powerful analogy of casting plenty of lines in the water and catching a lot of fish, but if you are not tending to the relationships that brought you there in the first place, you will quickly run out of bait. Building stronger relationships in a busy market, not diminishing your flow by contacting too many people, and focusing on your core group are also discussed. While it may be tempting to simply ride the market wave and let your systems fall by the wayside, the next crash could come at any time. As Larry Kendall says, Ninjas are the ones who learn to dance in the rain. Prioritizing your flow with clients and staying committed to your foundational activities are the key to predictable success, no matter what storms may lie ahead. Join the growing Ninja Selling Podcast group on Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/theninjasellingpodcast, where you can ask questions, share ideas, and connect with other Ninjas. If you have not been accepted to the group yet, please check your messages for a follow-up from Matt. You can also leave a voicemail with your direct feedback at 208 MY-NINJA. Episode Highlights: Looking at Ninja Systems, and how it works in every market This is the time of year people start looking at shiny objects and let their systems slide How long is this wave going to last? Do we need to prepare for an impending crash? Garrett has been using Ninja Systems for 19 years and has yet to find a marketplace it does not work in Ninja Systems offers safety and security in your business and this is not the time to get distracted from it Warn against neglecting your foundational activities, such as F.O.R.D. calls, building relationships, and writing notes Agents get bored and wander from attracting business Need to remember the big picture of why these systems are effective and how they will help you reach your long-term goals, both for yourself and your family, and also for your clients Mastering the mundane Ninjas are the ones that learn to dance in the rain and thrive in any marketplace Maintaining relationships consistently is what will allow you to succeed, even in challenging markets (example of agents whose businesses actually took off in 2008) You can also focus on building even stronger relationships Example of Paul Schneider scaling back the size of his database so that he could connect with clients every 30 days - he made the group smaller with better communication, but this is when referrals and opportunities started pouring in You can diminish flow by trying to be in contact with too many people Matt’s observation that successful agents and entrepreneurs usually have a smaller group of close personal relationships, as having countless people in your Sphere of Influence can be exhausting and unsustainable Focus on Ninja Nine and your systems It’s not always easy, but it is simple Quotes: “Let’s not get too far away from the Ninja Systems.” “I have yet to find a marketplace that it doesn’t work in.” “I’ve seen it happen so many times that I just want people to know that if you want some safety and security in your business, this is something you need to be taking seriously right now. This is not a time to waver from it. This is not a time to get distracted.” “It’s easy to get distracted from doing the foundational activities. It’s easy to say, Maybe I should look at something else. I just want to make sure I’m protected in case this doesn’t continue to work or whatever it is. The truth is that it always will work.” “Where I see a lot of people fall off is on the attracting business side, they start to let their relationships go.” “It turns into a machine at some point for some people. And I think that that's where they all of a sudden just start to deviate.” “You need to map it all out so that you have a really clear picture. Because otherwise, when you do get bored with the system, if you don't have that to fall back on, you will be off to the next shiny object so fast.” “When you master the mundane, that's the difference between somebody who's good, and somebody who's exceptional. And so that's what you’ve got to learn to do.” “Ninjas are the ones that learn to dance in the rain.” “If you have good relationships, you're going to have people supporting you, and helping you get through that time, particularly if you maintain those relationships at a very, very good level.” “I've got a lot of lines in the water. I'm catching a lot of fish. But I'm not going to dig up more worms, so I can continue fishing… I think that that's where a lot of people get lost in this type of marketplace is that, we’ve got lines in the water, we've got fish in the boat, we've got more fish coming. But we're running out of bait. So you need to go back and tend to that.” “The ones that have not figured out how to make this marketplace work are not sitting back with a very awesome database that they have been in amazing flow with going, Yep, still not working. That doesn't exist. If they have an awesome database, and they are connected with them, and they're in flow with them. There's business. There's business falling out of the woodwork.” “That's the wonderful opportunity in a thriving market, not just to close more deals, but to build better relationships and stronger relationships for the long term.” “The one thing you don't want to optimize are the things that don't scale, which is your personal relationships. It doesn't mean you need to go and have 250 more personal relationships, just keep the ones that are closest to you really strong.” “When you talk about relationships, you can actually diminish the return by trying to be in flow with too many people.” “You really don't need a whole lot of people, you just need to be in good flow with them.” “We find the really great things are where the business is just a byproduct of the great relationships that you're focusing on.” “You can't precisely measure the ROI of an individual in your database...because everyone's going to be different, every person is different, every piece of real estate is different. And so don't stress yourself out on measuring the ROI so much, because that's when you start to get distracted. And I think that's why some people will pull away and say, Well, that doesn't work in this market.” “No matter the market you're in, no matter what market you think you're going into, no matter what product you sell, or what product you want to sell, focus on those activities and the relationships you want to build and maintain. And you're going to see some success.” Links: www.TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Email us at TSW@TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Leave a voicemail at (208) MY-NINJA Ninja Selling www.NinjaSelling.com @ninjasellingofficial Ninja Coaching: www.NinjaCoaching.com @ninja.coaching Ninja Events www.NinjaSelling.com/Events Garrett garrett@ninjacoaching.com @ninjaredding Matt matt@ninjacoaching.com @matthewjbonelli The Ninja Selling Podcast Facebook Group

Some interesting buyer scenarios are beginning to pop up, and Matt and Garrett have chosen one in particular to examine today. Given the low level of visible inventory these days, they are hearing about realtors who are putting themselves into the position of making decisions for buyers by indicating that they are paying too much for their property. This is a situation that really needs to be addressed, and our hosts do so by giving a clear warning about the dangers of this practice. They begin by defining fair market value and reviewing the dangers of installing limiting beliefs in buyers and trying to predict the future. Determining what is ‘too much’, the value of staying on the process side of things, supplying all the information for buyers to make their own decision, and how buying a home is different from buying mayonnaise regardless of the brand you feel is the best, are all discussed as well. Matt and Garrett finish up by exploring the intrinsic value that a house may have for buyers, the best way to protect your clients, and the potential buyer’s remorse and reverse buyer’s remorse that realtors can be generating by making decisions for their clients. There are no two ways about it, the role of the realtor is not to make decisions for buyers – you’re headed for a world of trouble when you start down that road. Instead, ensure that you provide all the information for the buyer to make their decision on fulfilling their dreams, and in the end, you’ll both be much happier. Episode Highlights: Defining fair market value Installing limiting beliefs in buyers Predicting the future “How do we determine what’s too much?” Covering yourself by staying on the ‘process side’ Supplying all the information to allow them to make their decision How homes are different from even the best mayonnaise Intrinsic value Protecting your clients Buyer’s remorse and reverse buyer’s remorse Quotes: “Let the market do the talking.” “We’re literally installing limiting beliefs in our buyers, and I have a problem with that.” “You could squash some dreams potentially, and I don’t want to put us into a position to do that.” “It’s not for us to make the decision on…it’s about giving them enough information so they can make decisions for themselves – that’s what your role is.” “We can’t tell them what to do.” “Building costs are going through the roof!” “You could be scaring them into a much scarier situation.” “Every single piece of property is unique.” “Only they can determine what that’s worth to them.” “If anybody says they can predict what the real estate’s going to look like in the future, they’re lying to you.” “We have to be careful what we’re saying as realtors.” “If you are worried about them, give them more information.” “You have just lit buyer’s remorse on fire.” “At the end of the day, they’ll be a lot happier if they’re the one making the final decisions either way.” “The plus side is you don’t get blamed.” “We’re here to serve, we’re not here to decide.” Links: www.TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Email us at TSW@TheNinjaSellingPodcast.com Ninja Selling www.NinjaSelling.com @ninjasellingofficial Ninja Coaching: www.NinjaCoaching.com @ninja.coaching Garrett garrett@ninjacoaching.com @ninjaredding Matt matt@ninjacoaching.com @matthewjbonelli Settling Wilmington’s Great Mayo Divide: Duke’s vs. Hellmann’s

Description Rima Vesely-Flad teaches at Warren Wilson College exploring the intersections of Buddhism, race, and gender. Her teaching is deeply entwined with her current research on Buddhist teachers of African descent in the United states, particularly in the Vipassana tradition. Buddhism as it was adopted in North America has reflected the racism and discriminatory ideologies of this society. Rima researches how Black Buddhist teachers are doing things differently—and how Buddhist institutions in North America and contemporary Buddhist teachings are changing as a result. As more Black teachers are coming into positions of power in the US, authoring books, providing teachings, they are making new articulations of the dharma and carving spaces of liberation from dominant social messages. Black Buddhist teachers, many of whom also self-identify as queer, show how dharma can be a great vehicle for recognizing that historical harm was done and continues to be done, and to working with that recognition. They disrupt the status quo, bringing about new awareness based on embodied experience, and bringing attention to internalized racism and inter-generational trauma. With the tools that Buddhism provides to address, name, and be in discomfort, these teachers are making a different dharma possible: a space of resistance and healing to the pervasive ideologies of white supremacy. Teaching and reading this material with students, both white and marginalized, and gender non-conforming, Rima provides expansive opportunities for all to recognize the work that remains. Quotes “Let's take not only Black people who are marginalized in society and value their bodies and value their spirits and value their persons, but let's also take the most marginalized folks within Black communities and privilege their voices and their experiences so that in this movement not only do we have many, many self-identified queer leaders, but we also have an emphasis on transgender persons and the disproportionate violence especially against Black transgender women.” Rima Vesely-Flad “Spirit Rock just graduated a teacher group that was 90% people of colour. That's unprecedented!” Rima Vesely-Flad “IMS is about to graduate a teacher group that is 70% people of colour.” Rima Vesely-Flad “When I did the research for my book, which pertains only to people of African descent both who are recognized teachers but also who are long-time practitioners, it turns out that almost 63% self-identify as queer. That's a very big deal.” Rima Vesely-Flad “In that privileging of the body, these teachers are saying we work with the body, the body is our vehicle towards liberation and our social experiences and how we're constructed needs to get named as much as they need to be transcended. So that there is within these spaces a recognizing of how racism is internalized, the overt violence that gets enacted, the level of fear with which we move in our broader society, all of that gets named and put out there.” Rima Vesely-Flad “The practice of liberation is not simply to achieve these different states of mind, but it's also to say that liberation means a kind of transcending of those dominant, damaging messages that we have internalized so that we are not always in reaction to white supremacy.” Rima Vesely-Flad “One of the reasons I think these teachings from these Black teachers are so profound is that you can tell that they have managed to live in a different way. They are not always moving against white supremacy. They are not changing their patterns, not changing their bodies, not always in reaction to the degradation that has been part of the waters we all swim in.” Rima Vesely-Flad “Predominantly white Buddhist sanghas and retreat structures and governing structures in the United States have not taken seriously that fact that racism can flourish in those communities and that that needs to be named and confronted and worked with through dharma practice.” Rima Vesely-Flad “Leadership matters – who is on the podium or on the platform or holding the mic – those sets of voices matter a lot in terms of trying to shift a culture, to simply invite more people in but not shift the power structure is really not enough.” Rima Vesely-Flad “In the concept of decolonization, we are not talking about reclaiming land. We are talking about reclaiming rituals and we are talking about implementing new rituals and there is a lot to be said for symbolic power.” Rima Vesely-Flad “These are more liberal communities – politically liberal communities – and yet not dissimilar to having a group of white students in my classroom who self-silence around race and racism.” Rima Vesely-Flad “That is precisely where white people need to do some work and to really work with that fear, that self-silencing, and that inhibition, and again I think the dharma is such a great place to start with that because you have tools to sit with discomfort.” Rima Vesely-Flad Links and References Thich Nhat Hanh and rigorous sitting https://www.lionsroar.com/thich-nhat-hanh-sit/ Theravada Buddhism or Insight Meditation or “vipassana movement” from South East Asia https://www.lionsroar.com/theravada-buddhism-america/ Names of newly trained Black Buddhist teachers: Jozen Tamori Gibson https://www.spiritrock.org/jozen-gibson Leslie Booker https://www.lesliebooker.com/ Kate Johnson https://www.katejohnson.com/ DaRa Williams https://www.dharma.org/teacher/dara-williams/ Noliwe Alexander https://www.spiritrock.org/noliwe-alexander Solwazi Johnson https://www.spiritrock.org/solwazi-johnson Devin Barry https://www.spiritrock.org/devin-berry Rima Vesely-Flad, Racial Purity and Dangerous Bodies: Moral Pollution, Black Lives and the Struggle for Justice, 2017 https://www.fortresspress.com/store/productgroup/1634/Racial-Purity-and-Dangerous-Bodies Examines the grassroots protest work in Ferguson and beyond to dismantle systems of oppression and disproportionate policing and mass incarceration Uses and critiques liberation theology Healing Justice https://www.advocate.com/commentary/2019/5/16/what-healing-justice Insight Meditation Society https://www.dharma.org Spirit Rock https://www.spiritrock.org Kevin Manders and Elizabeth Marston, Transcending: Trans Buddhist Voices, 2019 https://www.penguinrandomhouse.ca/books/608719/transcending-by-kevin-manders-and-elizabeth-marston/9781623174156 Resmaa Menakem, My Grandmother's Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to mending Our Hearts and Bodies, 2017 https://centralrecoverypress.com/product/my-grandmothers-hands-racialized-trauma-and-the-pathway-to-mending-our-hearts-and-bodies-paperback Zenju Earthlyn Manuel, The Way of Tenderness: Awakening through Race, Sexuality, and Gender, 2015 https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Way-of-Tenderness/Zenju-Earthlyn-Manuel/9781614291251 Lama Rod Owens, Love and Rage: The Path of Liberation through Anger, 2020 https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/608716/love-and-rage-by-lama-rod-owens/ Rev. angel Kyodo Williams, Lama Rod Owens, and Jasmine Syedullah, Radical Dharma: Talking Race, Love, and Liberation, 2016 https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/547708/radical-dharma-by-rev-angel-kyodo-williams-lama-rod-owens-and-jasmine-syedullah/ Rema Vesely-Flad, Black Buddhists and the Black Radical Tradition The Practice of Stillness in the Movement for Liberation, 2021 (forthcoming from NYU Press) Rema Vesely-Flad, “Black Buddhists and the Body New Approaches to Socially Engaged Buddhism,” Religions, 2017 “Inside Out” prison teaching program at Warren-Wilson College https://www.warren-wilson.edu/2017/08/24/inside-out-program/ Jan Willis, Dreaming Me: One Woman's Spiritual Journey, 2008 https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Dreaming-Me/Jan-Willis/9780861715480 angel Kyodo Williams, Being Black: Zen and the Art of Living with Fearlessness and Grace, 2002 https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/332699/being-black-by-angel-kyodo-williams/ Sebene Selassie, You Belong: A Call for Connection, 2021 (Forthcoming) https://www.harpercollins.com/products/you-belong-sebene-selassie?variant=32894632755234 Names of Black feminist writers and Black writers on Dharma bell hooks Audre Lorde James Baldwin

Description Dr. Luther Obrock from the University of Toronto shares about teaching an undergraduate course on bodies and embodiment in early Indian Buddhist texts. He wants to use his course, a seminar, to help students understand how theories are not just modern constructions, but instead can also emerge from ancient religious texts. He leads his students through ways to mine data and information about how the writers of ancient Indian texts, themselves embodied, understood and spoke about their (gendered) bodies. From analyzing the representation of the "hyper-masculine" Buddha's body, or the status of the female body as attested in literature by or about nuns, a theory, or an "imaginary relationship to a real problem" of the body, can emerge. Quotes "Let's imagine these texts as coming from embodied people." Luther Obrock "We can use the Buddhist texts as theory to think about our own positionality." During yesterday’s Q&A session, an odd question came up. I was asked how someone can identify when thinking about something negative has become an indulgence. I always say, “Face it. Feel it. Heal it.” But there certainly comes a point where you’ve had enough negativity, and any more of it could be detrimental to your well-being. So, how do you know when it’s time to stop? That’s what we’ll be talking about today. On This Episode Identify how thinking negative thoughts can reach a point of indulgence Understand how repeatedly thinking a certain way creates neural connections Learn how to deviate from negative thought loops Quotes “Let’s say, there’s a negative thought and you don’t want to run from it, but how do you know when you’ve kind of thought about it as much as you can?” [1:00] “Indulgence sounds so mean but here’s why it’s an indulgence. Once you’ve thought about it often enough, what happens is you’re creating these neural connections, these loops in your brain… and they become hardwired. [2:40] “If you ruthlessly commit and say, ‘It doesn’t matter. I am dedicating myself and my time to walk on this path and I will not go on that other path again.’ Eventually--think about it--that new path will be as well-worn as the first. But now it’s taking you somewhere, potentially, somewhere so much better.” [4:21] “What you want to do is you want to think up the most amazing picture that gives you a sense of peace and calm. Either a scenario, a situation, an image. Just some sort of visual... You want to picture that scene, and now you want to infuse it with as much color and emotion and using every sense you have to make it so bold, so bright, so vibrant. Once you have that image, that feeling, you want to lock it into your mind.” [6:08] “This takes practice, and it takes consistency, and it takes repetition. But can it be done? A hundred percent.” [11:05] Resources The PBT Institute Website The PBT Institute Membership Community The Post Betrayal Syndrome Quiz
Key Takeaways A diagnosis of infertility doesn’t mean it’s the end. There is so much that you can still do to help you conceive. Hold on to hope. Many approaches to infertility focus on IVF. But there are other routes to take too. Nutrition has a huge role to play. So does the thyroid gland. Getting the right information through the right labwork will help you address the root causes of infertility. Positivity is hard to find while working through the challenges of infertility. It doesn’t have to be that way. Hope and joy can be a central part of the process. You just need to be equipped with the right information. Today’s guest is on a mission to help her clients find what they need as they grow their families. About Jennifer Zucconi Jennifer Zucconi is a registered dietitian trained in functional and integrative nutrition. She helps women with hypothyroidism and “unexplained” infertility use the healing powers of food and lifestyle to optimize their hormones and nourishes their pre-pregnancy health so they can bring new life into their families. After decades of her own misdiagnoses, struggles with infertility, medications that didn’t “fix” her problems, and multiple surgeries, Jennifer found a completely new way to heal. That’s what fuels her passion today as she helps couples get to the root cause of their infertility, so they can transform their dreams about parenthood into the joyful reality of expecting. Nourishment is the Key to Fertility Too often, people find themselves frustrated and dejected even after following every doctor’s recommendations. Jennifer takes the unique approach of focusing on nutrition as the next step. By focusing on nourishing the whole body, overall well-being will naturally improve. This includes fertility. Nourishment involves more than just what you eat. Your relationships, emotions, mind, and body all require nourishing. The Thyroid and Fertility Central to Jennifer‘s approach is the thyroid. Despite often being overlooked, this gland plays a crucial role in regulating much of the body. When the thyroid is unable to do its job, other systems in the body are going to shut down, particularly the reproductive system. Getting the right lab work will help identify potential hormonal issues so you’ll have the right information to address infertility at its root cause. How can you nourish your whole self to address fertility? Let me know in the comments on the episode page! Got a question you’d love to hear me answer on the show? Leave me a voice message here! In This Episode Jennifers’ discovery that “unexplained” means that you need to keep looking for answers [6:45] Why an infertility diagnosis is not necessarily final [13:05] The link between nourishment and fertility [15:11] Thyroid health as a key fertility factor [24:56] The best labs to explain unexplained infertility [35:10] Where to find the resources and support you need on your fertility journey [52:42] Quotes “Let’s go backward before we go forward. Because if you have some of these problems, those forward moving things aren’t going to work because we haven’t answered these foundational things first.” [11:10] “Let’s take a step back. Instead of focusing on one little area of your body, or even just the end of your fork, let’s look at you as a whole.” [17:44 “When something is wrong or not working or not communicating like it should, we got to ask why.” [37:57] “Any stress we can take off of the body so it can divert its energy to the right things, in this case, a new life, the better.” [42:13] Review Fed and Fearless on Apple Podcasts! On episode 63 of the Adorned Podcast we discuss chapter 6 of Ephesians. Paul continues to talk about the importance of submission, this time addressing the children and bondservants. He ends the chapter by reminding the church that they are not fighting a battle against flesh and blood, but one that is spiritual. He gives practical ways to fight this battle by teaching about the armor of God. We have so enjoyed walking through the book of Ephesians with all of you and pray that it has been a blessing to you as well! Quotes: “Let them be fondly cherished… deal gently with them.” -John Calvin “Paul does not condone the system of slavery instead provides instructions to believing masters and slaves regarding the relationship to each other in the Lord and how this should be lived out within the boundaries of their social and legal culture. the result as often observed that slavery slowly died out through the influence of Christianity.” -ESV Study Bible Notes “What you’re about to read in Ephesians 610 through 24 is not some weird hallucination dreamed up by a prisoner in chains but the doctrinally driven application of everything we’ve read in Ephesians.” -Gloria Furman “Our Faith is made stronger in community.” Resources: The Message of Ephesians by John Stott The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer Feminine Appeal by Carolyn Mahaney Alive in Him by Gloria Furman The Christian in Complete Armor by D.A. Do you know why 99% of entrepreneurs aren’t making money? I have met a lot of people who have a million dollar dream, want to make it big, crush it, and break records but guess what? They lack EXECUTION. They may have wild ambition but their bank account certainly doesn’t reflect it. Here is the reality; anybody can write, think, and plan but only a few can execute and that’s the difference between success and failure. If anybody can do what you do or break your record, then it has no value. If your dreams don’t challenge you, it is time to go back to the status quo. Don’t be the person who speaks and thinks without execution; let your actions do all the talking. Stay mysterious and never reveal too much. If you must succeed in the next phase of your of your life and create value to become relevant, then you will have to change your cycle of friends, habits, and read good books. Develop a habit of implementation and stay focused on materializing your dreams. The marketplace only rewards the values you present and nothing more. Do things that are uncommon because the sweetest revenge is achieving massive success and CREATING an empire. If you’re ready to turn your ambition to real results, join us on this week’s episode and start executing today! In this episode you will learn... Why planning is not enough and execution is key How to create real value through strategic action How to get inspired to take the right actions and decisions How to go from zero to six figures in six months Quotes: -> “Let your lifestyle, let your results, let your actions speak for you not your words. Stay mysterious, don’t reveal too much” -> “The marketplace doesn’t care about your problems or wants, it only cares about the value that you bring to it” -> “Value comes when you do things that are hard to do” Question:WHAT’S MOST IMPORTANT TO YOUR VISION THAT YOU NEED TO EXECUTE ON RIGHT NOW?
