This Digital Daniel Boone, having boldly piloted his Subaru beyond the civilized bounds of Interstate 70, considers all outlying mountains to be his personal domain. So empowered, he patrols the digital sphere, dropping shoosh emojis on any poster that dares to mention Lost Trail or White Pass or Baker or Wolf Creek. Like an overzealous pamphleteer, he slings his brand haphazardly, toward any mountain kingdom he deems worthy of his forcefield. Shoosh Emoji Bro once Shoosh Emoji-ed me over a post about Alta.
In episode #35 of Talk To Me About A&E Dan Buelow talks to attorney Jeff Coleman from the Minneapolis law firm Coleman & Ericksen, LLC about the professional liability risks associated with residential projects. Residential Projects are considered one of the riskiest project types for design professionals when it comes to professional liability claims. Dan and Jeff review the specific reasons why residential projects are so risky – especially condominium projects – and what proactive measures firms can take to mitigate their exposures to costly claims and client disputes.

If “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” and “The Parable of the Good Samaritan” collided at an intersection, then the Neighborly Love podcast would be the result. It features casual conversations over coffee in a “virtual coffee shop” that lean into the power of empathy. It’s about feeling heard, valued, and understood.Continue reading "Neighborly Love Podcast, Episode 26 – Jeff Coleman"

About Jeff Coleman -- I am a lifelong Missourian, lifelong third party voter and a big-L Libertarian for the past 14 years. Been married for a quarter-century to an incorrigible Democrat who reluctantly sprinkles a few Libertarian votes on her ballot if I negotiate hard enough. I have voted in eight presidential elections and zero of my eight votes were cast for the duopoly. Last year I assembled 42 Libertarians from all over Missouri and got them certified as nominees to our state redistricting commissions. All were snubbed in favor of duopoly commissioners. We are reaching out to the LNC for assistance with a legal challenge to Missouri's redistricting rules. I am also running for Missouri house district 101 this year. Depending on the outcome of our August primary, there is a very good chance I will be the only candidate in the race who actually resides in the district I am running to represent.
In this episode, Dan and guest Bob Stanton, VP of Claims for Willis A&E continue the conversation from our previous episode, CYA with CA Part I, where Dan and Jeff Coleman focused on the role of the consultant on the job site and the standard of care when providing CA services. This episode will focus on the review of critical issues to consider when it comes to CA services and contract formation, scope of services and documentation.
Job site related claims, including delay and bodily injury claims against design professionals, is a significant risk for every design firm. Understanding the role of the design professional in Construction Administration (CA) is critical when it comes to effectively managing this risk. In this podcast Dan and guest Jeff Coleman discuss the pitfalls and opportunities design firms face when it comes to construction administration.

Today, the Garb brings you a construction attorney, Jeff Coleman with Coleman & Erickson, LLC out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jeff has been a colleague of mine for about a decade. He focuses his practice on construction law, professional liability defense, concrete construction and general business law. But that's not all! Another fun fact about Mr. Coleman is that he has been a licensed structural engineer since 1977. Which makes my man dangerous to anyone who challenges Jeff in the courtroom. I've known Mr. Coleman more for his knowledge and experience in the area of concrete construction, Coleman is the author of Legal Issues in Concrete Construction (1st and 2nd editions). Which I have both signed copies! He is a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute. In order for an industry professional to be an ACI Fellow, they must have outstanding contributions to the production or use or design or construction of concrete. In other words they must have made an impact on the industry. A Fellow is also required to have made significant contributions to ACI through volunteering to committees and/or their local chapters. This type of recognition does not happen overnight. Did I mention he served as the president of the American Concrete Institute in 2020/21? Ladies and gentlemen, Concrete Garb presents an authority of concrete construction law and respected leader in the concrete community, Mr. Jeff Coleman.

How can you grow in your faith when the Bible goes against your desires, or tells you that what you want is wrong? Is it natural to have doubts in your faith, in your walk with Christ?
