Josh West is a certified CrossFit coach in Franklin, TN. Actually, he's MY health and fitness coach, which is why I'm so excited to have him on the show today. We stumbled into CrossFit Freeflow because we were looking for a new gym when we moved, and Jamie thought I would be lured by the name. He was right, of course. At first, we didn't see anything different than any other gym. We liked it well enough, it just wasn't different. But, we were wrong. As we got to know Josh better, I discovered that he was working on his OPEX certification, and he was beginning to really understand how to approach coaching from a personal standpoint. Each person is different, and while we can do the same workouts, there are a million variations that will help each athlete reach their actual goals. You'll hear so much more about this in the episode, so I won't spill the tea now. But, the more Josh and I work together, the more we see how aligned this approach is to the way I work in business. It's been so fun–well, and sometimes frustrating–to slow it all down and learn to build fitness with a calm nervous system–just like I do my business. So, hopefully you're intrigued. Josh is an awesome guy and shares some amazing insight in this episode. So, without further ado, let's go to the show. Links-- CrossFit FreeFlow IG My IG Newsletter Signup FREE Breathwork Sessions

Sometimes breaking old habits feels near impossible, especially when we're hyperfocused on the outcome or our environment is working against us. On the other hand, community interventions, social support, and technology can be the catalyst for a desired behavioral change. Listen to the BYU Public Health Department chair, Dr. Josh West, discuss behavioral change. Both he and Cougar emphasize that change is always possible, despite difficult circumstances. Episode #056 features Josh West, founder of Foundation.io. Josh is passionate about the foundation of software development - how do we make it easy and productive and FUN to be a software developer at a given company? How do we get developers writing code quickly instead of burning weeks on ramp-up and development environment setup tasks? (hint: Kubernetes!) A company where it is hard to "get up to speed" is at a disadvantage in a hot job market for developers. Blue Delta Jeans are some of the most coveted bespoke jeans available anywhere--and the company was founded and thrives In Tupelo, Mississippi. Josh West and Nick Weaver, Blue Delta's co-founders, join Judd and Rory to talk entrepreneurship, growth, pivoting to PPE in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, why they're happy to do business in Mississippi, and what you need to do to create a thriving culture. This is a long and multi-faceted conversation!
Earlier this year, just before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down so much of the world, Jessi traveled to Tupelo, MS, to interview the founders of Blue Delta Jeans, Nick Weaver and Josh West for an episode of Hello Monday. Nick and Josh are small business owners with a twist: Their base of operations is in Tupelo, but their business - selling bespoke jeans - happens online and around the world. A bunch of MLB and NFL athletes swear by their jeans. So does Nicole Kidman. In the first half of this interview, they talk about how they got started and what it means to build industry in their hometown. When the pandemic hit after the first part of this interview, Blue Delta Jeans figured out a way to keep the lights on and be of service to their community. In the second half of this episode, they share their experiences as SMB owners during the pandemic, and how they augmented their business to supply PPE to first responders in Mississippi.

In the face of disruption brought about by COVID 19, businesses throughout the world are finding ways to adjust not only for the sake of themselves, but for the sake of their communities. One of those businesses is Blue Delta Jeans, a clothing manufacturer in North Mississippi that is known for their high-end, custom blue jeans. When the pandemic became a reality in the United States, it forced Blue Delta CEO Josh West and his team to ask the question, “What's next?" The answer has brought about a transformation of their operations as they have transitioned much of their focus from clothing production to the production of face masks for frontline healthcare workers.Josh joins us in today's episode of The Weight to discuss his company's experience, socially conscious entrepreneurship, and his thoughts on how businesses leaders can find innovative ways to work toward the common good.Resources:Learn more about Josh's company Blue Delta Jeans here: https://www.bluedeltajeans.com/In this article from late March, Mississippi Today chronicles Blue Delta's transition from jeans production to masks.https://msbusiness.com/2020/03/blue-delta-shifting-from-jeans-production-to-masks/For Christian leaders working in the church, non-profit, and for-profit sectors, we've been paying attention to the work of Praxis Labs which focuses on redemptive entrepreneurship. If you're in the U.S., happy election day! In the spirit of the mayhem and controversy that the political process brings, we're tackling a topic that is every bit as controversial: tag management. Does Adobe DTM gratuitously delete emails? Has GTM been perpetually unaware of when it is around a hot mic? What does Tealium have against coffee?! What about Ensighten's sordid past where the CEO was spotted in public (at eMetrics) sporting a periwig?
