Hawai‘i Pacific University used a strong second quarter and balanced scoring to pull away from Chaminade, earning a 64–52 PacWest victory Saturday afternoon at McCabe Gym. HPU's Kyra Tanabe led all scorers with a game-high 26 points, shooting 9-for-17 from the field and 4-for-7 from three-point range.

The day wraps up with Ku & Paul giving their final picks for the College Football Playoff National Championship game between the Indiana Hoosiers & Miami Hurricanes. Hawaii Pacific defeated Vanguard 80–76 in a tightly contested PacWest matchup at home. The Sharks and Lions battled back and forth with nine lead changes before HPU pulled ahead late. Joshua West paced HPU with 19 points, while Quentin Meza added 16 and Avi Halpert chipped in 14 to help keep the Sharks in front. Hawaii Pacific's balanced scoring and clutch free throws in the final seconds sealed the win.

Hawaii Pacific battled hard but fell 72–61 vs Vanguard in PacWest play. The Sharks trailed early as Vanguard built a strong first-quarter lead, with Emma Schaaf leading all scorers with 21 points and Kaylee Byon adding 14 for the Lions. HPU chipped away throughout, staying competitive in the second half behind balanced scoring from Kyra Tanabe (19 points) and Jalen Samuel (12), but couldn't complete the comeback. Despite solid effort on both ends, the Sharks couldn't overcome Vanguard's scoring bursts.

First year head coach of High Point University, Flynn Clayman joins this week's episode of @Notevend2 . Coach Clayman has been apart of the High Point staff the previous two years leading them to heights the program hasn't seen before including a NCAA tournament appearance and back-to-back Big South regular season titles. Clayman developed one of the best offenses in the country as an assistant under Coach Alan Huss. The team was 3rd in offensive efficiency according to KenPom Rankings, and was in the 98th percentile in points per possession during the 2024-25 season. The Panthers have high expectations as they were picked to win the Big South conference once again. HPU is currently 3-0 during the 2025-26 season under Clayman. Paul gives the scouting report of the new HPU men's basketball team after getting his first look at the squad on Thursday, previewing with Ku how the Sharks can match up with the Rainbow Warriors later in the year. Kyle Galdeira joins Ku for the weekly NFL Quick Picks segment, looking to continue gaining ground after a big week of wins in Week 3.

Zeigler is a TCU graduate, having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies with an emphasis on Communication in 2015. He was a student-athlete for two years at Central Michigan, where he played for his father, Ernie Zeigler. Trey then went on to play one year at Pittsburgh before transferring to TCU where he averaged 10.1 points per game. Over his college career he scored 1,481 points, grabbed 581 rebounds, and dished out 251 assists.Before diving into college coaching, Zeigler played professionally for several seasons. From 2015-22, Zeigler played in nine different countries. He was named to four different Eurobasket.com all-league teams during his professional career. In his 2020-2021 season Zeigler was the only player in Europe to average over 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists. A 2010 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School in Mount Pleasant, Mich., Zeigler scored 1,644 points and grabbed 648 rebounds in his prep career. He averaged 24.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as a senior and finished second in the Michigan "Mr. Basketball" voting. He was named to the Third Team All-American by MaxPreps.com. Coming out of high school, Zeigler was a consensus top 30 player."I'm excited to welcome Trey back to Omaha," said McDermott. "He was instrumental in the development of our roster during his time on our coaching staff. His work ethic and ability to connect with people was exactly what I was looking for. The youthful energy and knowledge of our system and style of play, will allow for a smooth transition. "When former Bluejay Alan Huss was hired as head coach at High Point last spring, Zeigler joined the HPU staff as an assistant coach. The Panthers went from 14-17 to 27-9 in Zeigler's lone year in North Carolina, winning the Big South regular-season title and reaching the title game of the College Basketball Invitational. The Panthers jumped from 299 to 114 in the final KenPom rankings, the nation's second-best improvement.
