For many months we have heard that once the new presidential administration is inaugurated that there will be many changes related to sex and labor trafficking of migrants and unaccompanied minors in the U.S.  People have asked us many times how that will affect human trafficking in our communities.  The answer is: It is just too early to tell.  With many years of open borders, literally millions of people have arrived in our country that we have very little knowledge about.  We know that many of them are good, hard working people escaping poverty, and organized crimes in their own country.   However, we also know that when a society does away with the rule of law, and no longer vets individuals entering our country that many of those coming in are gang members and violent members of organized crime that prey on the good people who have entered but do not have the funds to pay back their trafficker. The challenge is how can we tell which ones are the good guys and which ones will hurt us, our families and other migrants.    As people involved with leading Million Kids we believe that NO ONE, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual preferences and gender should ever be a victim of exploitation. Now that criminals are unidentified and moving in our communities, it is difficult to find out how to protect those individuals who are being trafficked on American Soil.   We are predicting that over the next several months, that hopefully many gang and cartels members will be removed form our neighborhoods.  We also hope that those that are now living in our communities that are being trafficked will come forward and ask for assistance. It is a complicated issue requiring complex answers but we are here to help.
