Have you ever wondered if what you do matters? Well, you're not alone. Pastor Byron walks us through the book of Nehemiah, chapters 11 and 12, which give us a guide for finding meaning and feeling a part of something greater than ourselves. When we step out with the LORD, we find the greatest meaning.
In today's message, Five Marks of a Life That Matters, Pastor Mike shares a recalibrating word for our church family. God isn't calling us to live half-alive—He's calling us to a life filled with His presence, rooted in authentic community, aimed at generational legacy, marked by bold purpose, and poured out to change the world. From encountering God deeply, to raising legacy carriers, to living sent and discovering our God-given purpose, this message will challenge and equip you to step fully into the life you were created for. Whether you're new or have been with us for years, this is a word for all of us to become the people—and the church—God has called us to be. Let's live lives that matter!
Lead Pastor Stephen Feith concludes the powerful 12-week "A Life That Matters" series with a profound exploration of surrender as the gateway to significance. As Jesus approaches Jerusalem in Luke 18-19, we witness both the anticipation of Palm Sunday and the heartbreak of misunderstanding that follows. Through encounters with a blind beggar who sees with spiritual clarity and a wealthy tax collector whose surrender transforms his entire life, Jesus demonstrates that recognizing our need is the first step toward true discipleship. The tension between human expectations and divine reality becomes increasingly clear as the cross approaches. While the disciples and crowds want glory without suffering and transformation without discomfort, Jesus redefines power, purpose, and the very nature of God's kingdom. Through tears, he mourns for those who miss the peace he offers because it doesn't match their expectations—a challenge that resonates powerfully with our modern desire for comfort over surrender. This message delivers a convicting reminder that surrender isn't weakness but requires tremendous strength. It isn't a one-time decision but a daily rhythm of letting go—of our preferences, our control, and our version of the story—to embrace God's greater purpose. Through honest reflection, humble confession, faithful stewardship, and persistent trust, we discover that what appears to be loss becomes the doorway to the life that truly matters.Whether you're wrestling with areas of stubborn control or simply feeling stuck in your spiritual journey, this message offers a liberating perspective: the path to glory always runs through surrender. As A.W. Tozer wisely noted, "Many remain troubled because they haven't yet come to the end of themselves." What might change if we stopped trying to give orders and fully surrendered to the King who gave everything for us?Support the showIf you enjoyed this episode, consider subscribing to Madison Church on your favorite podcast platform. Our feelings can lie. How we feel in a single moment has the potential to impact decisions that last a lifetime, so how do we navigate our constantly changing thoughts and emotions? In Week 3 of "Elijah," we follow our main character through a moment of self-doubt interrupted by the reassuring voice of a never changing God.
How many things have you stopped praying for? There isn't just power in prayer, there is power in believing in your prayer. In week 2 of "Elijah," we discuss what it means to go all in on expecting God to deliver on His promises.

We all want our lives to matter. We all want to leave an impact. There are many stories of impactful lives in the Bible, and one of those is the life of Elijah. In the first sermon of this new series, we discuss why God will hide our purpose from us until we are ready to fulfill it.
This series of messages explores the Journey of Jesus as outlined in the Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus proclaims the arrival of the Kingdom of God and calls His followers to a life of faith, righteousness and discipleship. The Book Of Matthew challenges, instructs, and reveals the truth of God's Kingdom, calling His people to genuine obedience, confronting religious hypocrisy and offering the hope of salvation through Jesus, the promised Messiah. This book speaks not only to individuals but also to leaders and society, urging all to embrace God's rule in their lives. Today, we are diving into Matthew 3. If you've ever struggled with communication, boundaries, or making relationships actually work, this episode with Dr. Mark Hicks is for you—whether it's love, friendship, family, or coworkers, these insights can change the way you connect. More info, resources & ways to connect - https://www.tacosfallapart.com/podcast-live-show/podcast-guests/dr-mark-hicks In this episode of Even Tacos Fall Apart, Dr. Mark Hicks joins us to talk about what makes relationships thrive. As an author, counselor, speaker, and relationship expert, Mark is passionate about breaking down what makes love last—whether it's with a partner, friends, family, or even coworkers. Mark's book, Learning Love: Building a Life That Matters and Healthy Relationships That Last, explores five key components of love that anyone can practice to create stronger, healthier connections. And guess what? The first one might surprise you—grief. He explains that people who struggle with relationships often have past wounds that make them put up walls. Learning to grieve and heal is the first step in opening up to real connection. The other components—emotion, practicality, acceptance, and passion—build on that foundation, giving us the tools to communicate, work through conflict, and genuinely enjoy our relationships. We also talk about the cultural stigma around mental health and relationships, particularly how people hesitate to seek therapy. Mark is firm: everyone should see a counselor. Just like we go to doctors for physical health, therapy should be a regular part of life. He even suggests treating it like going to the dentist—check in every six months, whether or not you think you need it. One of the biggest relationship mistakes? Trying to “go it alone.” Mark points out that relationships are shaped by how we grew up, and let's be real—most of us didn't get a perfect roadmap from our families. Whether it's through therapy, coaching, or just being open to learning, improving relationships starts with improving yourself. And that means self-love. He reminds us that we can't love others more than we love ourselves—so if we're struggling to show up for our relationships, it might be time to look inward. Of course, we also get into the fun stuff. Mark and his wife travel the country as professional house and pet sitters, which means he's often writing his books (or ghostwriting others) from someone else's home while caring for their pets. He also shares his unexpected fascination with the Manson family case, how past heartbreak shaped his views on love, and why laughter—even forced laughter—can completely shift your mindset. This conversation is packed with insight, practical advice, and encouragement for anyone looking to improve their relationships. Whether you're trying to heal from a breakup, struggling to communicate, or just want deeper connections, Mark's approach gives you real tools to make it happen. His book is being republished by Morgan James Publishing, with pre-orders opening in November and a full release in June 2025. In the meantime, you can grab his free eBook for a breakdown of the five components of love.

Life often feels like a house—there are times for living, maintenance, and major renovations. In this sermon, we explore the transformation of Saul, who was once a persecutor of Christians, to Paul, one of the most influential apostles. Drawing from Acts 6-9, we see how Stephen's faith and Saul's encounter with Jesus began a dramatic renovation in Saul's life. His story reminds us that God can turn even our darkest moments into something new and powerful for His kingdom. If God could transform Saul, imagine what He can do with us! Join us as we reflect on how living a life with God makes all the difference.
We launch into a new series, and Pastor Keith shares a message about laying the right foundation in our lives.
