website: https://www.codependentmind.com/ Money talks, as they say, and in this episode we hear about the financial dimensions of Brian's codependency. For most of his life, money was not a tool for Brian to express his values and achieve his life goals; instead, it was fuel for his codependent habits - people pleasing, caretaking, lack of boundaries. His financial codependency, not surprisingly, did not lead to financial health; it lead to debt, stress and shame. Recovering from codependency also involved a recovery from financial codependency and we explore what it took for Brian to form a new relationship to money, one that has taken him to solvency and beyond. 00:01:18 Codependency and Money 00:03:36 Financial Caretaking 00:05:38 Self-Centeredness in Financial Codependency 00:06:09 Throwing Money at Problems 00:10:09 Unveiling Financial Shame 00:10:37 Narcissistic Entitlement and Money 00:11:06 Facing Financial Resentment 00:12:48 Post-Divorce Financial Codependency 00:15:43 Using Money to Avoid Abuse 00:16:24 Financial Caretaking as a Coping Mechanism 00:17:12 Rationalizing Financial Decisions 00:18:52 Fear and Shame in Financial Choices 00:21:54 Overcoming Financial Codependency 00:25:17 Processing Financial Shame 00:30:22 Aligning Money with Life Goals 00:32:43 Conclusion and Book Announcement Thank you for liking, reviewing and following our podcast. This episode is sponsored by Eckard Enterprises. To start empowering your financial future, visit www.EckardEnterprises.com Money isn't always the key to happiness. What are the key financial planning processes for using your money to live a better life? In this episode of the Finance for Physicians Podcast, Daniel Wrenne talks with his colleague, Jennifer Quire, a fellow Certified Financial Planner CFP®. As financial planners, Daniel and Jennifer's goal is to help physicians use their money to live better lives. This starts with working through the financial planning process. Listen in to find out what this looks like. Topics Discussed: • What is a financial plan? Roadmap of where you are and want to be • How to create a financial plan? ◦ Organize financial affairs ◦ Clarify values and goals ◦ Analyze options ◦ Decide best path forward ◦ Execute next steps • What's most important to you? Money isn't always the answer • Life Planning Questions: If financially independent… ◦ I want you to imagine that you are financially secure, that you have enough money to take care of your needs, now and in the future. The question is, how would you live your life? What would you do with the money? Would you change anything? Let yourself go. Don't hold back your dreams. Describe a life that is complete, that is richly yours. ◦ This time, you visit your doctor who tells you that you have five to ten years left to live. The good part is that you won't ever feel sick. The bad news is that you will have no notice of the moment of your death. What will you do in the time you have remaining to live? Will you change your life, and how will you do it? ◦ This time, your doctor shocks you with the news that you have only one day left to live. Notice what feelings arise as you confront your very real mortality. Ask yourself: What dreams will be left unfulfilled? What do I wish I had finished or had been? What do I wish I had done? [Did I miss anything]? • Analysis Paralysis: Focus on one thing at a time to make progress • Deadlines: Time gets in the way and people don't like change, ask for help • A financial plan becomes worthless if you never execute on it LINKS: www.WrenneFinancial.com

How did you pick your business model? Why do you run your business the way you do? When you're driving along the road of entrepreneurship and making money, it can be hard to take your foot off the gas for just a second and ask, is this the right road? Too often, we're not even thinking about the destination; we just focus on getting to the next gas station. I've been there too. The current state of your products, services, and systems is probably a result of hundreds of decisions made on the fly over a couple of years. And the result is a business that is generally sound - it helps some clients and makes some money. But under the hood, things might feel cobbled together. Is your business model optimal for YOU? Were you told to do things a certain way? By a coach or mentor? Are you doing things in business because everyone else does, or that's what your industry expects? Perhaps you learned to do business a certain way in a job, so when you went solo and needed to make money, you just kept doing things that way? A better way is to start with your strengths and your personality's unique gifts and design a business model aligned with who you are and how you want to run your business. In today's podcast, we're discussing what business model and ways of working would best suit your Money Archetype.

He has a background in clinical mental health counseling - working with families over some of the most challenging problems in their lives. Episode 47: Do you look at your money data 1-2x a month? What comes in and what goes out? This data will help you create more money. Even if that data is $0. In this episode, I teach you how to learn from money data when you make $0, blow your goal out of the water and land somewhere in between. I also teach you how to look at that data and identify what to do differently for next month. This way, “do more, better” is never the answer but rather something way more helpful and do-able.
