Day 6 of the Keffe D murder trial brought the 2017 Death Row Chronicles recording into the courtroom — and one exchange between the interviewer and Duane Davis landed harder than any confession the jury has heard so far. Davis described the night Tupac Shakur was shot, named his nephew as the gunman, and discussed Sean Combs and money. He said Combs wanted Suge Knight "taken care of" and then ghosted him when the situation got hot. The defense fought to keep the recording out, arguing it contained references to other crimes. The judge admitted it with limiting instructions — every version of Davis telling this story chips away at the fiction defense. Prosecution witness Michael Dorsey, the filmmaker behind Murder Rap, testified about recording the interview on his own phone and later alerting Las Vegas police. Day 5 of the Duane “Keffe D” Davis Trial: The Last Photo, the Documentary Interviews, and Davis's Own WordsOn Day 5 of the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, charged in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur, the prosecution continued building its case with eyewitness testimony, documentary filmmakers, and more of Davis's recorded statements to police. The day opened with Leonard Jefferson, the man who took what is widely regarded as the last known photograph of Tupac Shakur alive. Jefferson testified that he was in Las Vegas for the Mike Tyson fight, sold his tickets in the MGM Grand lobby, and later found himself stopped at a red light next to the BMW carrying Tupac and Suge Knight. He snapped a 35mm photo of the pair before following the convoy onto Flamingo Road. Moments later he heard gunfire, saw the BMW make a U-turn, and watched as Suge Knight emerged yelling that “Pac is shot.” Jefferson later returned to the scene at a detective's request and turned over the film. He pushed back against online conspiracy theories claiming he staged the famous image.Next on the stand was Mario Diaz, showrunner and director of the BET docuseries Death Row Chronicles. Diaz detailed two formal interviews he conducted with Davis in 2017, confirmed Davis was paid for his participation, and walked the jury through how the series incorporated portions of Davis's earlier recorded statements to investigators. He testified that the interviews were unscripted and that no questions were provided in advance.Prosecutors then played extended audio from a voluntary September 2009 police interview in which Davis described the night of the shooting in detail. In the recording, Davis discusses obtaining a gun (described as a .40-caliber Glock) from Eric “Zip” Martin, handing it off inside the white Cadillac, and his nephew Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson ultimately firing the shots. The co-executive producer and showrunner of Ghost Adventures: House Calls, Michael Dorsey, has made a career out of documenting compelling stories for TV and film. Over the years he's become known for his expertise on the "unsolved" murder of Biggie Smalls having produced multiple projects about the case. On this episode of A Study of Strange, Dorsey shares his insight and opinion about who killed Biggie and why there have been no arrests.   On March 9th, 1997, in Los Angeles CA, superstar music artist Biggie Smalls, aka the Notorious B.I.G., was shot at an after party near the Peterson Automotive Museum. The assailant pulled up along side Biggie in a Chevrolet Impala and attacked. Biggie was rushed to the hospital but passed away shortly after arriving. He was only 24 years old.  This came just 6 months after rival rapper, Tupac Shakur, was also shot and killed. Many speculate the murders were connected. No suspect has ever been arrested for Biggie's murder despite the fact that many consider the case solved. Therein lies where the case takes a strange turn. Through Around the Corner, Dr. Dorsey maintains active relationships and agreements in the U.S. and beyond with various partners from Barrett Capital, to the ​California Clean Energy Fund​, to Silverleaf Partners, the ​ Royal Bafokeng Holdings (South Africa), Univergy (Japan/Spain), the World Bank and many other institutions and high net-worth individuals driving the global renewable revolution. In non-profit realms, Dr. Dorsey helped to co-create the northern California headquartered Center for Environmental Health. Michael wanted to know how Chef Andres found his first client. Andres has a profile on Thumbtack.com and he was able to get his first client through that marketing vehicle. Andres’ response was full of helpful hints so listen to the podcast to hear more. On this week’s podcast, Chef Andres shared some of the awesome experiences he has had while working as a personal chef. A particular client Chef Andres talks about contacted him to do a bachelorette party. The client Googled “Chefs in San Diego” and found Chef Andres. Andres sent her a menu after they spoke over the phone. The client ended up going with another chef, but he sent her a follow-up thank you note telling the client that he greatly appreciated the fact that she contacted him and wished them the best during their event. Several weeks later, Chef Andres received another inquiry from a different lady. This client requested a dinner party for 8 of her friends. Chef Andres sent her the menu, but he also asked how the client heard about his business. She told him that her daughter (from the bachelorette party) gave her the referral. Even though Chef Andres was not hired for the bachelorette party, he was still hired for the current event based on the referral from her daughter. On the day of the event, Chef Andres shows up to the house and was overwhelmed by its vastness … the house took his breath away!
