This week on Breaking Battlegrounds, Sean Noble of Light Beer Dark Money and Kiley Kipper of Kiley's Corner are joined by two influential voices in their fields. Mackenzie Price, education innovator and founder of Alpha Schools, shares how her revolutionary two-hour school model leverages AI to deliver personalized, mastery-based learning while giving students back time to build life skills, explore creativity, and pursue purpose. Then, economist and American Compass founder Oren Cass joins to unpack Trump's tariffs, how China's authoritarian economic practices undermine true free market trade, and why rebuilding America's manufacturing base is essential to our future prosperity and national security. And in Kiley's Corner, Kiley shares the heartbreaking story of Eli Heacock, a 16-year-old who took his life after being targeted by an online predator using AI-generated sextortion, an urgent reminder of the dangers facing teens online in the digital age. Students score in the top 1-2% nationally, and over 90% said they love going to school. This success led to the expansion of Alpha Schools across multiple cities – Miami, Brownsville, and counting. Her model is also used at Alpha High, Sports Academy, NextGen Academy, and GT School, changing the educational landscape for hundreds of students.MacKenzie also hosts the Future of Education podcast and YouTube channel, discussing AI's role in education and how students can align their passions with their skills for personal and academic growth, amongst other topics. Imagine how you feel if you were ever told... "You are no longer as remarkable as you once were." "Perhaps you should try something else." "Other people are now better than you." Personally, I've been there. Today's podcast guest, Hannibal Navies has also been there. After almost 10 years in the NFL, he realized there were other options for him to "contribute to others" that didn't require him being on the field. He always knew he has a passion to help others and started a foundation when he was an active player. This allowed him to continue to pursue his passion and ONE OF HIS DREAMS. This gentleman has many, and they all include "doing" for others and giving back. He now serves as the Vice President of Development for Athletes Charitable (https://athletescharitable.org/) (part of United Charitable; https://unitedcharitable.org) in which he is helping athletes develop philanthropic opportunities to assist others in need. The live event interview focuses on philanthropy and how United Charitable helps individuals and businesses to give back easily. Hannibal shares his journey from an NFL career to founding the 360 Sports Academy Foundation, emphasizing the importance of leadership through athletics and helping young student athletes navigate life's challenges. The discussion encourages viewers to chase their passions, try new things, and use their platforms for positive impact. Lessons include the value of giving back, finding personal fulfillment through helping others, and overcoming the fears associated with transitioning from one career to another. More about Hannibal Navies; Hannibal Navies is leading the charge at Athletes Charitable as Vice President of Development. Hannibal is a 9-year NFL Veteran, social entrepreneur, influencer, and founder of 360 Sports Academy and the Hannibal Navies Foundation. In addition to being part of the brotherhood of the NFL, Hannibal is passionate about philanthropy and social good efforts that create meaningful change in disenfranchised communities. His education includes an executive MBA and entrepreneurial certification from Harvard University. He most recently served as the Director of Engagement & Outreach for The Trust, powered by the National Football Players Association. This effort provides transitioning NFL players with the support and resources needed to ensure their success outside the game of football. His leadership in this work reflects the dedication that Hannibal has for empowering professional athletes and his desire to see them thrive beyond their sports careers. Hannibal has made an impact on the lives of several professional athletes through his work, personal influence and mentorship. His extensive experience as an entrepreneur, public speaker and philanthropist have groomed and qualified him for his role at Athletes Charitable. In 1922, David Levin was a struggling singer-songwriter whose career (and life) were going nowhere. But then he had a surprising “Wizard of Oz Moment” that changed the course of his life forever. He discovered the three fundamental skills for personal development - cognitive control, emotional self-regulation, and impulse control. To help coaches and athletes benefit from his blueprint and tools he founded the Raise Your Inner Game Sports Academy. Every coach wants their athletes to reach their full potential. Indeed, that's the whole purpose of coaching. The problem is, a lot of times the athlete's mental game is holding them back and the coach simply doesn't have much available to help with that. So, the athlete continues to struggle, and the situation just gets more and more frustrating for everyone involved. Whether your audience is coaches, parents, teachers, or anyone else who works with teenagers, they'll discover a simple yet powerful new approach to mental performance training that helps kids in every area of their lives. This episode is brought to you by N2N's Illuminate App, The iPaaS for Higher Education.
