We brainstorm the most ridiculous, yet somehow plausible, ways to turn this desolate retail space into a destination of debauchery. Bargain hunters are continuing to flock in their thousands to Auckland's newest outlet mall, Manawa Bay, which is less than 3 kilometres from the city's airport. A wave of shoppers heading there for it's opening caused major congestion on the main route to the airport yesterday. Today there was barely any respite as, inside the mall, long queues formed outside its boutique chocolate store, while people packed the food court, Lucy Xia reports.
Travellers and companions with time to spare will have opportunity to explore the new shopping mall opening right by Auckland Airport this week. The new $200-million-plus premium outlet centre Mānawa Bay opened on Thursday, with launch celebrations running from September 19-22. BloggerAtLarge writer Megan Singleton says this might seem like an unusual spot to set up a mall - but it gives people staying in the nearby hotels something to explore without going as far as the city. Back in my younger days, I spent a lot of time in malls, shopping centers, and outlets. Throughout my high school and college years, I worked in the mall and on the radio. I don't spend as much time shopping anymore, but I frequently notice how much retail shopping has changed. They're building a new outlet mall on the south side of Nashville, and I wonder how it will be different. These days, more of the same is not a winning strategy... Welcome back to 50Talk. This week we bring you Episode 76 and after being off for a while we have a lot to talk about. So last week was Mother's Day weekend and we got busy with family and also this past weekend we had some family stuff to do as well. We took a large group of family to the Toledo Zoo and we had a great time. A lot has been going on since last we've talked but we will try to fit in as much as possible. We have opinions on some stuff as usual. To start the show off we start with some news out of Mississippi and The NAACP putting out a travel advisory to Florida in light of recent activities done with the Government of Florida. We give our thoughts and opinions on what this means or how we interpret it. I've always had a sour feeling about Florida & Texas for years but I have family in both. With TikTok on the verge of being banned in the entire country and already in Montana Cathy and I ask " Do 13 year old's need training on Social Media before they enter that world?" This is a touchy subject for me and I tried to give examples from a parents perspective and a Childs perspective. By no means do I think the government need to tell Parents how to parent their own kids. I respect that others may feel different than me and that's cool. We missed another Mass Shooting in Allen, Texas last week while we were off. It was a shooting that took place in an Outlet Mall where I believe 7 people were killed. We talk about this issue with guns and all the loosening of gun laws around the country. We also mention a couple statistics about those states that are loosening and a few that have stricter gun laws. On Sunday evening CNN aired Uvalde: Inside a School Shooting. We give our opinion on the show and the affects the families are having from the shooting. We are both confused on why these families still aren't getting the answers they deserve. Why has no one been held responsible for the Police response of over three hundred police officers who stood around in the hall while children got massacred? One year later, if you haven't seen this show you need to. Last but not least we get into some couples questions and also some "thought Provoking Questions for Couples". We hope you enjoy the show and we will see you all later this week. (Hopefully)Oh yeah, I did mention at the end of the show that this was Episode 75 but it really is Episode 76. We are getting closer to 100.....Yeah Us!

At least eight people were killed and seven others injured in a shooting at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas. Among the dead are three children, including two sisters who were in elementary school. AR-15s, like the one used to kill eight people at a shopping mall in Allen, Texas, have become more popular around the country. The rifles have been involved in ten of the country's 17 deadliest mass shootings. The Washington Post spent months examining the rise of the AR-15 in America and the politics and culture surrounding it. Geoff Bennett discussed that series with reporter Todd Frankel. It is upsetting to be going through the same thing over and over again. There needs to be changes in gun control! Assault rifles should not be in the hands of regular people, more regulations need to be placed on who can own a gun. Something has to give! 8 people should have never lost their lives if the government had listened to its people on stricter gun laws. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jennifermw/message

A topic near and dear to my interests and business: Retail in Japan. Specifically the Outlet Mall industry. This episode we hear from Julien Rey, the Leasing Director for the Outlet! Company. Japan already has numerous outlet malls and Julien explains how his company is differentiating and innovating in this competitive market. The fascinating quantitative and psychological factors behind mall layout, location, and loyalty. The politics of space allocation, the strategies malls use to attract customers and increase "dwelling" time, and which brands are the thrillers and the fillers. It's a great listen and not just because of Julien's charming French accent, the economics behind outlet malls is thought-provoking. Other highlights from our conversation:The roles of a Outlet Mall Leasing Director: Retailer, Realtor, and RecreationThe "Domino" effect created by certain brandsThe challenges of convincing brands to open a store in an outlet mallHow to measure and what is the average outlet customer "Dwelling Time" in JapanRecent retail trends and innovations you can expect to see and "experience"The intricate role F&B (restaurants) plays in outlet malls Pricing "tricks" used by brands to maximize profitsHow Japanese outlet mall customers differ from other outlet mall culturesLeasing contracts: All about the "balance of power"The one brand Julien really wants in his outlet malls The Outlets Kita Kyushu: https://the-outlets-kitakyushu.aeonmall.com/The Outlets Hiroshima: https://the-outlets-hiroshima.com/Laketown Outlets: https://laketown-outlet.jp/More Now and Zen Japan episodes: http://nowandzen.jpGrow website traffic = Zo Digital: https://www.zodigital.jp/Great Sleep Starts Here = gugu Sleep Company: https://gugu.jpJapan Adventures via Camper Van = Dream Drive: https://www.dreamdrive.lifeUse the code word "ZEN" to receive discounts

Jeff closes out the show with his thoughts on what you can do now for a better chance to get into Heaven before you pass. Thanks Drew for hanging out with the guys for an awesome conversation! Special Guest: Buffalo Preacher.
There's good customer service, and then there's exceptional customer service, where customers are treated as valued guests. And you can find that at all three locations of Harrison's Coffee Co.: Johnston Terminal, Waterfront Drive, and the Outlet Mall at Seasons of Tuxedo. Al Dawson has cultivated a culture of giving in all his cafes that starts with his “Manifesto” which is posted in all his cafes and on his website. It represents the values of the organization such as being kind, leaving things better than when you found them, and being part of the solution. It's about being transparent and who they are as a people. Speaking of which, it's about people first and Al's team means the world to him. Al shares the stories behind the names of his coffees and shares the untold story of how many lives are impacted by a cup of coffee. He says that when you say to someone “let's go for coffee”, what you're really saying is that “I want to spend time with you”. www.harrisonscoffeeco.com @harrisonscoffeeco_ See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Our Outlet Malls need to step up their game!
There’s an Outback Steakhouse at the Outlet Mall that I’ll always call home. It’s more than just a chain restaurant from Dallas that finagles Australian culture by screaming Down UNDAH at you when you call and make an unnecessary reservation, provides bread that looks like a forgotten potato, or feeds you a pretty tasty Ribeye that will leave you feeling like a shark who swallowed a license plate and an old boot the following day. It’s more than your tastebuds. The food will slog its way through the winding road of your guts and leave your butt eventually. Your mouth will be cleansed by a holy Foster’s Ale. This is more than that. It’s about the memory, the feeling, the sour face woman in red in the booth adjacent to you, those are the things you can keep forever. On this episode of Battle Red Radio, Matt and his good friend Taylor preview Week Fourteen of the 2020 NFL season. Topics include the beautiful woman in the front row, revisiting this week’s Power Rankings, Steph Stradley’s question, DeAndre Hopkins missing Deshaun Watson so-so-so-so much, what to watch for in Texans-Bears, Minnesota’s commendable fight back into the playoff race, Miami blitzing Kansas City, Buffalo catching up to Josh Allen, and the impending Baltimore run. While you’re at it, give it a five star review and subscribe below: You can subscribe/listen on iTunes here. You can subscribe/listen on Android/Google here. You can subscribe/listen on Spotify here. December 10, 2020 I’m gonna come out and ask the question, “Are we all holding onto invisible anger?” Unspoken because life’s personal experiences have taught us to hide from the truths of reality. You know! Out of sight out of mind! What we don’t recognize doesn’t exist. Invisible anger. How much do you do you have tucked inside of that heart? Look. I’m one of those people that’s chosen to remain out there on the street of the everyday people. Essential working. It’s with people I don’t know. Hundreds every day! I’m horrified! But my mind body and soul are saying, “Keep walking through the storm.” I can see the changes in your eyes. Just because your candy coated plastic bathroom mirror smile is hidden behind a mask doesn’t mean your body language isn’t speaking loud and clear. You’ve heard me bring this up before. Winning is a choice. I live every day by activating it every morning. Winning is a choice. We choose to be frustrated. We choose to want fight as well as fear. It’s a choice. So when I ask if we’re holding onto invisible anger it’s not to blow on smoldering embers. It’s to help unlock the block. Winning is a choice is a lifestyle that’s been teamed up with meditation, prayer and extreme amounts of writing. Not books, songs or movie scripts. Free form thinking. Stream writing. Being present and taking notes. The UK and Canada have said yes to the Pfizer vaccine. But rarely do we hear about the other sickness. A generation of mental illness caused by the effects of everything that’s unfolded this season. I ask every person I come in contact with how they’re doing. How’s the family spirit? Things good at work? Remote teaching for your kids or get them back into class? If I don’t start the conversation then there’s invisible anger knocking on your soul and it wants to come out. Is it ok to say, “All is not well.” The healing has to begin through the strength of awareness. Instead of sharing an open wound the decisions being made are fed by an amazing increase in vices. What’s your chosen go to? Where you hiding? Have you found what you’ve been looking for? It must be something because nearly every person I see daily has their nose buried in that smart phone. What are you looking for? When you find it, will you share it with the rest of us? I chuckle over that vision. Not because it’s funny but I’ve been left with a vision of our present place. The USA is treating the Pfizer vaccine like an Outlet Mall. We go to the Outlets to buy cheap un-perfect items. Having the best isn’t a requirement. Today we might be the third nation to approve the vaccine. Third! Maybe fourth, fifth, tenth. Lead the way. Don’t stand around with your life waiting for people to show you the way. Winning is a choice. Lead the way. Look into your heart not at the headlines. Lead by getting the conversation started.

We present, what is hopefully the first in a long line of, a special video about why Alien is so great! This is just the first episode and it is a rather long winded way of saying I love the movie/franchise, but I wanted to get this out in honor of ALIEN Day, 4/26. There will be much more to come in the future. Hit our social media pages to let us know what you think and if you have any ideas for those future episodes! Keith Laguna and Angelica Caporuscio, owners of Tonic MRKT in the Asheville Outlet Mall, join us for episode #0021. Tommy Green gets drunk pounding New Holland Dragons Milk in stupor awe of this incredible couple and their story, while Crowler skillfully manages the interview. Tonic MRKT is the only bottle shop and craft beer bar in an outlet mall in the nation. The ALE and ABC of North Carolina gave approval for Tonic MRKT to allow its customers to walk out their door drinking beer and go shopping throughout the mall.

The town next to ours here in Ibaraki, Japan, is known for two attractions: Its Giant Buddha Statue, over 100 meters tall (never too big!)... and the new "Outlet Mall" looking like it could be transplanted right from Southern California, each clearly seen from the other. What better place than the mall to look at today's passage from the Xin Xin Ming? The Way is perfect like vast space where nothing is lacking and nothing is in excess. Indeed, it is due to our choosing to accept or reject that we do not see the true nature of things. Nevertheless, we run to the mall, credit cards in hand, to fill temporarily the "lacking" and boredom we feel. Here are the perfect cards to bring! The advertisements on TV show us that there can be "no excess", that one can never have a big enough house or new enough car, never enough money in the bank. But that is not quite what the Buddha had in mind by "nothing is in excess". Rather, nothing is ever lacking ... nothing is ever in excess ... so live with moderation, simplicity. Sure, there is no need for lay folks to live like monks ... but know what one truly needs for life, appreciate the simple and small, do not be a slave to wants and material things. In fact, in the Buddha's Mall, nothing is ever lacking or overstocked, there's is always an open parking space ... and the best stuff is totally free! Today’s Sit-A-Long video follows at this link. Remember: recording ends soon after the beginning bells; a sitting time of 15 to 35 minutes is recommended.
