Lindsey appeared on three episodes of "Star Trek: Voyager" in two different roles. First, she was Beatrice Burleigh in the episodes "Learning Curve" and "Persistence of Vision," a character from Captain Janeway's holonovel. Lindsey talks to us about her time working with Kate Mulgrew and Robert Picardo, as well as her fictional brother Thomas Dekker, her joy of wearing the gothic outfits, lessons from director Anson Williams, and other fond memories of her time on set. Lindsey also starred in "The Children of the Corn" alongside Wrath of Khan's Kirstie Alley, Christoper Reeve, Mark Hamill, and Thomas Dekker, and explains the Trek connections to that film. Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week we look up in the stars with some Super Bowl counter programing and a spirited talk about the hit show The Orville New Horizons with guests “Lt. Talla Keyali” Jessica Szohr, “Lt. john Marr” J. Lee and producers Brannon Braga and Tom Costantino. Seth MacFarlane's epic space adventure series “The Orville” returns exclusively as a Hulu original series. Set 400 years in the future, “The Orville: New Horizons" finds the crew of the U.S.S. Orville continuing their mission of exploration, as they navigate both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships. Joining Szohr and Lee are an ensemble cast includes MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, and Anne Winters. “The Orville: New Horizons” is produced by 20th Television and Fuzzy Door. The series was created and written by Seth MacFarlane. MacFarlane, Brannon Braga, David A. Goodman, Jon Cassar, Jason Clark and Howard Griffith serve as executive producers. Captured at a San Diego Comic-Con Press Room on Saturday July 23, 2022 in the Aqua Salon at the Hilton Bayfront, join us; Grim Shea, Marke. and Johnny Heck as we dip into our SDCC 22 audio archives yet again for these incredible roundtable interviews. Is The Orville Sci-fi? Is it a sitcom? Is it an adventure series? Is it funny? Is it original? We tackle the big questions about a show we love and avoid talking about football for a stinking minute!

On today's episode, I am coming to you LIVE from the Blue Carpet at the 2018 Paley Festival in Los Angeles. Today's guests are cast members from the hit shows "The Orville" and "Mom". Paley Fest took place at the Dolby Theater, and it was such an honor to be a part of this year's fesitvities. Aside from our carpet interviews, I also had the oppotunity to attend screenings and panels for "The Good Doctor" and "Queen Sugar". Cast members that joined me were: Peter Macon, Mark Jackson, Rico Anderson, and Penny Johnson Jerald from "The Orville", and Jamie Pressly and Beth Hall from "Mom". While I did get a moment with Allison Janney, sadly she had to get to the panel and couldn't do an interview. I talked to the casts about their roles on the show, preparring for their roles, their careers, acting advice and more.  A huge thanks to the Paley Center for allowing me to be a part of this years festival. It was such an honor. If you haven't checked out "The Orville" or "Mom", I would highly suggest watching both. Thanks to the casts of both shows for taking the time to talk to me as well.  See you next year, Paley Fest! Enjoy the episode.

"The Orville," is the newest Star Trek parody on Fox TV from creator Seth McFarlane.  Or is it?  This new series has defied expectations by attempting to be more than just a "Galaxy Quest" rip-off and instead creating a hybrid of humor and heart that actually feels like a spiritual successor to earlier sci-fi favorites like "Star Trek: The Next Generation." In this episode, Adam Thomas, Aaron Zundel and Andy Farnsworth talk about how both humor and science fiction have traditionally been used to explore themes and ideas that may be too difficult to address directly.  We also discuss how this dynamic applies to "The Orville" and whether or not the type of humor used in the show accomplishes that goal. "The Orville" stars Seth McFarlane as Capt. Ed Mercer; Adrianne Palicki as Cmdr. Kelly Grayson; Penny Johnson Jerald as Dr. Claire Finn; Scott Grimes as Lt. Gordon Malloy; Peter Macon as Lt. Cmdr. Bortus; Halston Sage as Lt. Alara Kitan; J. Lee as Lt. John LaMarr; and Mark Jackson as Isaac.  It's Executive Produced by Jon Favreau, Seth McFarlane and Brannon Braga.
