There is a Disney movie called 'The Lion King' that came out decades ago, and it's sequel that was just released in the theaters, and if you've never seen either one let me just tell you right now they both borrow heavily from the Bible. Disney being what it is, it is purely unintentional on their part, but nonetheless there it is. The Lion King? Only one lion King, and that's the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ. The entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, speaks of the coming King from the tribe of Judah who will rule and reign from David's Throne in Jerusalem, and likens Him to a lion in both strength and regality. Jesus is the Lion King who is coming for His Church sooner rather than later, and will return with us at the Second Advent to claim His kingdom over this world. Disney will never make a movie like that, but they don't have to, you can see it within the pages of your King James 1611 Authorized Version Holy Bible!

Disney's official X account was busted by Community Notes for claiming that Mufasa was the #1 movie in America, when it was Sonic the Hedgehog 3 for the second weekend in a row. To add to the drama, Disney has begun hiding any comments referring to Sonic 3 as X users continue to pile on.
Disney (especially Lucasfilm) could learn a thing or two from how director Jeff Fowler turned the first Sonic trailer from an internet laughingstock into a box office powerhouse. Disney's approach to franchises like Star Wars has run them into the ground, while Paramount's Sonic movies have thrived by listening to fans. Sega told Paramount that a live-action Sonic movie wouldn't work, but Paramount proceeded anyway, resulting in an initially awful film similar to Disney's The Little Mermaid remake. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is expected to be Paramount's highest-grossing release in 2024, outperforming Disney's Mufasa and Star Wars films. The Sonic franchise has already been greenlit for four movies, with each installment improving on the last, a rarity in Hollywood sequels. Jeff Fowler, director of the Sonic movies, redesigned the main character after fan backlash, leading to the franchise's success. Disney has a history of altering established franchises for modern audiences, often resulting in negative fan reactions and financial struggles. Sonic 3's success is attributed to its active engagement with fan feedback, contrasting with Disney's recent failures due to ignoring audience preferences. 00:00 Sonic 3 succeeded by engaging fans, while Disney faces backlash over its Mufasa film despite other successes. 01:57 Sonic's success comes from listening to fans, unlike Disney, resulting in better reception for its movies. 03:27 Sonic 3 succeeded by actively listening to fans and rebuilding their trust, unlike Hollywood's dismissive approach. 04:23 Fans' dissatisfaction with design choices in franchises like Transformers highlights the importance of listening to audience feedback for success. 05:32 Sonic 3's anticipated success stems from Paramount's responsiveness to fan feedback, fostering a culture of trust that has strengthened the franchise. 06:31 Sonic 3 thrived by prioritizing fan feedback and adapting to challenges, unlike Disney's recent failures. 07:56 Listening to fans, as Sonic 3 did, leads to success, while ignoring them, like Doctor Who, results in failure. 09:23 Sonic movies continue to succeed by listening to fans and consistently delivering what they want, while other franchises struggle.

Hakuna Matata means “no worries,” and back in the mid-90s, Disney's The Lion King didn't have a worry in the world. A massive box office smash, the animated coming-of-age musical would go on to win 2 of its 4 Oscar nominations and surface a hit Elton John sung soundtrack. But now, 30 years later, maybe there was cause to worry. Is a talking-animal Hamlet too heavy for a G-rated audience? Is the brother-murdering Scar too evil of a villain? And why does no one seem a bit concerned with Simba's grief, guilt or mental health over his trampled-to-death dad? The Old Roommates ponder the circle of life while giving it all a revisit through their middle-aged lens. Listen to this.Old Roommates can be reached via email at oldroommatespod@gmail.com. Long live the king! In this episode Matt and Charlie revisit the 1994 Disney animation musical The Lion King. This was released in the middle of the Disney animation renaissance and is considered to be one of the greatest animated films ever, but Disney didn't have high hopes for it at first, as they committed some of their more seasoned animators to another film. Is this the best Disney film of the 1990s, and is Scar a top 5 Disney villain? Baobabs are sometimes called the "tree of life" with their thick trunks, crown of branches and flowers that only open at twilight. But theories about their geographic origin was divided among three places: the savannas of sub-Saharan Africa, the Kimberley region of western Australia and the dry forests of the island nation of Madagascar. To solve this mystery, a global research team led by scientists at the Wuhan Botanical Garden at the Chinese Academy of Sciences examined high-quality genomic data from all eight baobab species. The Theatre Development Fund, at the direction of Broadway's The Lion King, removed two white sign language interpreters because they were white and interpreting words from black (and white) characters in the show. This has opened up a federal discrimination lawsuit and left a big stain on New York's esteemed theatre community in an era of ultra-wokism. ⭕️Watch in-depth videos based on Truth & Tradition at Epoch TV

Episode SummaryAnother critical and commercial success of the Disney Renaissance, The Lion King (1994) was a beast at the box office and on home video. It was also the first animated Disney animated film set in Africa. Despite (relatively) diverse casting and the incorporation of authentic African music, there's still plenty of racism to discuss, with some homophobia and questionable political commentary thrown in! It is a pleasure to welcome singer-songwriter Annabel Gutherz to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Annabel grew up in a family that encouraged exploring the arts, she always has been in tune with her creative spirit. As a teen, she composed original music and lyrics as a vehicle to work through adolescence's growing pains. Recently, Anabel graduated from the Berklee College of Music Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Music Studies and is finishing her Masters of Arts degree in songwriting at Berklee. Her debut album, Loose Ends, is a stylistically eclectic yet authentic record that cathartically encapsulates life's unfinished moments. The album was recorded by longtime Celine Dion band member Dominque Messier. Several media outlets such as CelebMix, PopWrapped, and Stage Right Secrets have praised her music. In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Annabel Gutherz talked about the stories behind her songs: “Skylark,” “Breathing Under Water,” and “Retrograde.” We also spoke about our appreciation about musical theater and The Lion King plus our wishes for the upcoming two-part film adaptation of Wicked.

Truly Inconsequential - Not all characters are created equal. Mr. Greer and Brimstone of The Grindhouse Radio debate this week's zeroes in front of a live audience. It'll be determined in real time who will remain inconsequential, and who may be liberated back into the hero's category. This week they argue Rafiki from Lion King; as well as Phil from Hercules. Who's tough love was actually warranted - getting results, and who just wanted to bop someone higher on the food chain on the head - we'll find out. Question is, who will remain truly inconsequential.
