In this homily, Fr. Michael reflects on the Transfiguration and the meaning of “glory” as Christ reveals it—a glory that comes through love and self-gift. He shares how glory is not worldly success, but the radiance of a life given in love, like Christ on the Cross. Fr. Michael draws on personal experience to show how embracing responsibility, whether in priesthood, marriage, or family life, deepens joy and enlarges the heart. Like Christ on the mountain, we too are called to shine with the glory of love by carrying the responsibilities God gives us. This is the path of the Cross and the Resurrection.

In this episode, David shares his profound transformative journey with 5-MeO-DMT at Enfold. Initially unfamiliar with psychedelics and stemming from discovering his autism and deep personal grief around his mother, David recounts how an invitation by his sister led him to explore the Enfold experience.Through immersive parts work (IFS) and the ceremonies at Enfold, David experienced significant personal breakthroughs, particularly in processing the loss of his mother and his newfound ability to connect and love others unreservedly. He discusses the importance of integration, the realization of love as an infinite resource, and how these revelations continue to manifest in his daily life. For those inspired by David's journey, Enfold offers a supportive and intentional environment to explore transformational experiences. Takeaways: - David's first encounter with Enfold and 5-MeO-DMT stemmed from a deep interest in internal family systems (IFS). - Diagnosed with autism, David felt disconnected and exhausted, seeking a new way to cope with his grief and life challenges. - The 'Meet the Medicine' ceremony allowed David to reconnect with his late mother, altering his perceptions of grief and self-worth. - The full release ceremony deepened David's understanding of universal love and energy, fundamentally shifting his approach to life and relationships. - Post-experience, David feels more connected to his body, less fearful of social interactions, and more grounded in his daily activities. - Integration was key to maintaining these insights, with Enfold providing ongoing support and resources.—Enfold offers safe and sacred transformational experiences combining psychedelic medicines, breathwork, coaching, and somatic modalities, with a grounding in Buddhist philosophy. Rita discussed the Gospel of Mark, focusing on the teachings of St. Augustine of Hippo and the importance of love in faith, emphasizing the need to see God through the lens of love and faith rather than fear. She also highlighted the significance of acknowledging and confessing sins before God, the transformative power of love-based faith, and the teachings of Jesus as recorded in Mark 1:22. Lastly, she discussed the story of a man possessed by an unclean spirit, emphasizing the importance of not hiding behind good deeds or words, and being accountable for our actions. 00:00 Gospel of Mark and Love Rita, the host of the Catholic Girl on the Radio, discussed the Gospel of Mark, specifically focusing on Chapter One, verses 21 through 28. She highlighted the teachings of St. Augustine of Hippo, who emphasized that the demons had a lot of knowledge but no love. Rita also noted the importance of love in the context of knowledge, referencing St. Peter's statement that without love, one is of nothing. She further discussed how Jesus revealed himself to the demons only as much as he chose, and how the demons knew through their terror. 04:03 Overcoming Fear and Embracing Love Rita discussed the importance of recognizing and overcoming fear and anxiety in one's perception of God. She emphasized the need to see God through the lens of love and faith, rather than fear, and to be aware of the influence of demons who may try to instill fear. Rita also highlighted the significance of love in faith, using the example of demons who acknowledged Christ but lacked love, making their faith worthless. She warned against boasting about faith without demonstrating it through actions and behavior that reflect Christ. 10:09 Confessing Sins and the Power of Love Rita discussed the importance of acknowledging and confessing sins before God to avoid remaining in them and maintaining a distance from Christ. She emphasized the difficulty of following God's commandments and living in a state of grace, but also highlighted the rewards and strength it brings. Rita also touched on the concept of hell and the appointed time for judgment, suggesting that one's readiness for death is crucial. She differentiated between true faith, which works through love, and the fear-based faith of demons. She concluded by emphasizing the transformative power of love-based faith in the healing process and in drawing closer to Christ. 15:10 Jesus' Authority and Transformative Power Rita discussed the teachings of Jesus as recorded in Mark 1:22, emphasizing his authority and transformative power. She highlighted the importance of receiving Jesus' teachings with an open heart and mind, rather than nitpicking at details. Rita also referenced the testimonies of demons and the devil, noting how even their recognition of Jesus as the Son of God could serve as a means of judgment for salvation or condemnation. She used the example of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima in 1917 to illustrate this point, emphasizing the power of truth even when it comes from unexpected sources. 20:43 Bible Verse and Sacrament of Reconciliation Rita discussed a Bible verse from Victor of Antioch, which referred to an evil spirit being unclean due to its wickedness, separation from God, and engagement in sinful works. She emphasized the importance of the sacrament of reconciliation and God's readiness to reconcile with us. Rita also highlighted the opposition of the evil spirit to Jesus, despite recognizing his authority. She cautioned against trusting the proclamations of demons, even when they speak the truth, as there may be ulterior motives. 24:12 Jesus' Authority Over Evil Spirits Rita discussed the story of a man possessed by an unclean spirit, which was cast out by Jesus. She emphasized that Jesus demonstrated His authority over the spirit and revealed its nature, and that our lives can be used for good or evil depending on our choices.

Join Joe Rockey and Father Boniface Hicks in this heartfelt and thought-provoking episode of Father and Joe. Together, they explore the complexities of discipleship, the power of love, and the challenges of living a faith-filled life in today's world. Using the Gospel message from the third week of Advent as a starting point, they reflect on the historical context of Jesus' time and its relevance to our modern struggles, while emphasizing how love remains the most transformative and powerful force.Joe begins by sharing his personal struggle with excuses and reflects on the Gospel passage where John the Baptist foreshadows Jesus' transformative mission: "I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with fire and the Holy Spirit." This sparks a deep discussion about what it means to be a disciple, especially during difficult times. Joe asks an important question: "If we were living in Jesus' time, would it have been easy to be a disciple, or would we have hesitated because of the challenges and sacrifices required?"Father Boniface delves into the historical context, explaining how the Roman Empire's oppression and societal challenges might have made Jesus' message difficult to embrace. He contrasts worldly power with God's power of love: "The power that God brings is not the power that the world prizes...but the power of sacrificial love." Using examples from Scripture and theology, he explains how Jesus' approach to love upends the values of worldly power, showing that true victory lies in love, not domination. The conversation also touches on the challenges of modern discipleship, as Joe reflects on the divided responses to struggles like the COVID pandemic: “Do we quietly accept the circumstances, violently oppose them, or join the side of the oppressors?” Father Boniface emphasizes that, no matter the circumstances, love must remain central. He explains, "Love never runs out. God, who is love, comes not in the form of worldly powers but in the form of sacrificial love."As Christmas approaches, the episode shifts to an invitation for those who may only attend church twice a year (on Christmas and Easter). Father Boniface encourages listeners to welcome and support others in their journey of faith: "Let them feel like Christ cares that they're there because you care that they're there." Whether it's through a simple connection, a prayer, or a welcoming gesture, discipleship begins with embodying love in everyday actions. In a world where power, money, and status often feel like the only ways to thrive, this episode of Father and Joe reminds us that love—God's greatest gift—offers a more fulfilling and eternal path. As Father Boniface puts it, “God rearranges the hierarchy of values to show that love is the most powerful, love is the top, love is victorious.”If you're seeking inspiration on how to deepen your faith, love others, and embrace discipleship in your own life, this episode offers profound insights and practical encouragement. As the hosts remind us, "The prerequisite of discipleship is love."faith and discipleship, Catholic podcast, Christian living, power of love, Advent reflections, Christmas message, Father and Joe, Father Boniface Hicks, Joe Rockey, Gospel reflection, John the Baptist, Jesus and love, embracing discipleship, being a disciple, Roman Empire and faith, Eucharistic reflections, Brant Pitre Jesus studies, overcoming oppression with love, sacrifice and love, love vs power, Beatitudes explained, modern Christian struggles, faith and challenges, love in Christianity, discipleship in history, Christmas faith reflection, Catholic inspiration, challenges of faith, how to deepen faith, love as the greatest power, historical context of Jesus, welcoming others to church, Catholic Christmas reflection, sacrificial love in action

Yet, from Dr. Carla's personal and professional experience, she's found that our beliefs and needs often change as we mature and explore who we are as individuals. Ideally, those we love choose to support and honor our chosen personal identities and belief systems, but, sadly, many families are torn apart as differences arise. It seems that love cannot always conquer all. Join Dr. Carla and expert Lyn Smith Gregory for a captivating exploration into the heart of family estrangement, individuation, and healthy connection. Experiencing divorce, navigating its aftermath, and opening up to the possibility of love again—these steps carry a profound significance for men, often requiring them to face emotions they've long buried. It's more than just rebuilding; it's about redefining who they are as individuals and as partners. For many men, the journey to healing involves embracing vulnerability, overcoming fears of repeating past mistakes, and rebuilding trust in themselves and others. This transformation is essential for establishing genuine connections and rediscovering love. The end of a marriage can trigger intense feelings of shame, failure, and deep grief. Societal expectations frequently pressure men to suppress these emotions, leading them to face their pain in silence and sometimes adopt unhealthy or isolating coping mechanisms. We often overlook that men are dealing with more than just a loss of family structure and limited access to their children; they're also facing a fractured sense of identity and, for some, the fear of entering a new marriage in the future. Preaching: Ben ConachanAs our community continues to transition from deconstruction to reconstruction, from a focus on what we are not toward a focus on what we are, we dream of a church that holds up the ancient and historic way of Jesus that is worthy of being embraced. The way of Jesus casts vision for a flourishing life. It is life so immersed in Divine Love that our daily lives are transfigured: no longer are strangers to be feared, they are family to know; no longer is change threatening, it is an opportunity to evolve; no longer is self-giving burdensome duty, it becomes an opportunity to share God's love that has filled our hearts to overflowing. Family, evolution, the expression of love—these are distinctive of Jesus' way that, in this series, we will dream about deepening into.Pearl Church exists to express a sacred story and to extend a common table that animate life by love. A primary expression of our sacred story is the weekly sermon. Both were ready to delve deeper into the topic. Asta's Journey to Self-Discovery and Fulfillment Asta shared her journey of overcoming personal struggles to find happiness and fulfillment. She revealed that her father's suicide when she was young had a profound impact on her subconscious and her relationships. Despite this, she became a successful fashion designer and, after 24 years, embarked on a journey of self-discovery through retreats and spiritual learning. This journey led her to find the love she had been seeking within herself, which in turn attracted a fulfilling romantic relationship. She also noted improvements in her business and health. Asta's Journey to Holistic Fashion Design Asta and Michael discussed Asta's journey towards holistic fashion design and the integration of love and energy healing into her work. Asta shared how she reconnected with herself, rediscovered her passion for her business, and how her newfound love and energy attracted positive changes in her life, including rekindled romantic relationships and clients who have been with her for over 20 years. She encouraged people to ask themselves this question and to act on the answer, with the aim of spreading more love and happiness.
