Divine kingship was as old as Egyptian civilisation itself, when the Predynastic kings of Hierakonpolis (Nekhen) ruled as avatars on Earth of the falcon god Horus. Pharaoh was entitled the ‘Good God, the Son of Ra'. Egypt's gods and goddesses were his fathers and mothers. In life he was the incarnation of Horus; in death, his identity fused with Osiris, Lord of the Underworld. But there were limits to royal godhood. Each king inevitably aged, sickened, and died. However, this contradiction between Pharaoh's human frailty and sublime godhood was not a problem: the divine was understood to inhabit the earthly body, but be quite separate from it. The king's human self was a mortal vessel containing the divine essence of kingship. Most kings only truly became a god after death. In a series of articles in Ancient Egypt magazine, Professor Peter J Brand of the University of Memphis explores the life of Pharaoh Ramesses II and reassesses the Nineteenth Dynasty. For the first of these articles, Brand explored the divinity of the early Ramesside kings. And on this episode of The PastCast, he spoke with Ancient Egypt's deputy editor Sarah Griffiths about his findings. Sarah also discusses what readers can look forward to in the upcoming issue of the magazine, out on 8 June in the UK. It will also be available to read in full on The Past website. Mummies, gold, and an obsessive belief in the afterlife – these concepts are all central to our image of ancient Egypt. But how important were they to the Egyptians, and how long did they survive after the last of the pharaohs? A new exhibition, Golden Mummies of Egypt, uses 108 objects to explore expectations of life after death during the relatively little-known Graeco Roman Period – when Egypt was ruled first by a Greek royal family, ending with Cleopatra VII, and then by Roman emperors. The exhibition opens in February at Manchester Museum for its only European showing after an international tour that has included venues in the USA and China. On this episode of The PastCast, curator Dr Campbell Price discusses the artefacts on display and their significance to the Greek and Roman Egyptians and to modern visitors. Campbell is also the author of an article on the exhibition in the latest issue of Ancient Egypt magazine, which is out now and is also available to read in full on The Past website. On this episode, Campbell spoke with Ancient Egypt's deputy editor, Sarah Griffiths. Sarah also explains what readers and listeners can look forward to at the upcoming Current Archaeology Conference at UCL Institute for Education in London on Saturday 26 February, at which Campbell will be speaking. After having incredible success with homeopathy and the products of Adored Beast, I was very excited to sit down for a chat with Sarah Griffiths DCH, and to learn more. Sarah shares about her journey to become a homeopath, how homeopathy works (so cool!), how to administer them for horses, and how to support your horses gut health with homeopathy, probiotics, supplements and more. A conversation packed with helpful and supportive guidance and information, and such a joy to meet and learn from Sarah. Enjoy! Sarah is a partner to the Adored Beast Apothecary and the creator of two companies: The Animal Synergist and Equus Soap Co., located in Langley, BC, Canada. A horse trainer, feline and canine nutritionist, and a classical homeopath, she started her journey into animal wellness as an equestrian and a zookeeper. She has even worked as a commercial falconer. With over 20 years of education and field/clinical experience feeding and caring for wild and domestic animals of a variety of species, Sarah consults with clients and companies across Canada to help them with species-appropriate approaches to animal nutrition. Sarah's unique and deeply caring approach to animal care focuses on providing synergistic wellness planning services and safe, non-toxic grooming options for animals. She's a strong believer that less is more when it comes to our ever-increasingly toxic environment. We can't control a lot of things but we can surely control what we feed our animals and what we put on them topically. Sarah holds a Diploma in Classical Homeopathy (DCH) from the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy, a certificate in exotic feline husbandry and is currently completing a 500 hour Clinical Pet Nutritionist program from the Academy of Natural Sciences (CPN Certification) and 100 hour CEN (Clinical Equine Nutritionist). Sarah Griffiths - The Bollweevils, Sarah Griffiths & Duck - in conversation with David Eastaugh From their first gig The Bollweevils received favourable reviews. However, it was not until late in 1989 that the band signed a recording contract with the independent record label, Vinyl Solution. In March 1990, their first single was released on the Decoy label, the self produced and critically well-received four track Talk To Me EP. A Bollweevils compilation CD, Life's A Scream, was released in Japan in 1992, on the Toy's Factory label. It contained all the tracks from the first three recorded EPs.

Sarah is a very specialized hypnotherapist, whose focus is helping people rapidly overcome mental health issues resulting from unresolved trauma residing in their sub-conscious. She shares her own personal journey to recover from complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), anxiety and depression and the resulting physical pain. Her turning point came nearly 11 years ago when, after almost committing suicide while trapped inside a marriage to a covert narcissist, she recognized that she needed to heal and change her life. Eventually, through her training as a hypnotherapist, she saw the bigger picture and how the puzzle pieces fit together, and was able to heal both her physical and emotional pain.Contact Us: Email: amgits.reverse@gmail.comInstagram: @brushcreekthriversFacebook: From Survivor to Thriver

The Bollweevils with Steve McKevitt in conversation with David Eastaugh Although first formed in 1985, The Bollweevils did not come together properly as a live act until 1988. The first full line-up included Sarah Griffiths (vocals), Mark Johnson (lead guitar), Steve McKevitt (bass guitar), Dave Lloyd (rhythm guitar) and Chris Coyle (drums). From their first gig The Bollweevils received favourable reviews.[1] However, it was not until late in 1989 that the band signed a recording contract with the independent record label, Vinyl Solution. In March 1990, their first single was released on the Decoy label, the self produced and critically well-received four track Talk To Me EP. ABC's Stephen Singleton agreed to help record the second single, but it was not finished until 1991 and neither the band nor the record company were happy with the results. The tracks were re-mixed in June with the punk/dance producer Alan Scott, but the Life's A Scream EP was never released in that form

In her book, “The Unlikely 7 Figure Entrepreneur” Sarah tells the story of how close she came to taking her life* in October 2010. Childhood bullying at school had left her so self-conscious that she couldn’t bear to live any longer. All of the negative self-beliefs she had were reinforced in her narcissistic marriage. A split-second decision*changed her mind, and she became determined to heal and change her life. She embarked on a long journey of discovery, both in business and in her personal life, as she launched her first business just a few months later in April 2011. Nine years later, she has studied and trained, and by using her own past experiences and healing journey, coupled with a precise methodology, she has developed a new program, 12 weeks to CPTSD Free, that uses hypnotherapy in combination with traditional talk therapy methods to help people rapidly heal from the trauma of past abuse and all of its debilitating effects. She lives in Perth, Western Australia, but by embracing technology, Sarah is able to help those who so desperately need what she has to offer, no matter where they live on the planet as her sessions are all virtual*. Her mission is to bring far more attention and awareness to the effectiveness and availability of methods such as hers, to get them adopted into mainstream practice, and also state-funded treatment programs so that those who cannot afford to pay privately can also access them*. She also wants to raise awareness that talk therapy is not necessarily the best or only option, and allow people to make an informed choice about the treatment they opt for. MORE ABOUT SARAH When she is not working Sarah loves to read and cook. She hates cruelty of any kind and to live in alignment with trauma and abuse-free life, she is vegan. She supports animal rescue organizations and child poverty programs. Her goal is to set up a foundation to fund the services she provides to those who are in need but are lacking the resources to pay*. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/pressplayinspired/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pressplayinspired/support
On this Episode, Sarah interviews Guest Tia Lynn. According to Tia:In February 2017, I decided to take the massive leap of faith, and left my cushy salary job as a Marketing Director in Salt Lake City, Utah and headed to Southern California to live in my dream location. My job was eating me alive, it was hurting my soul; the company I was working for did not have the same core values as me and I knew I needed to get out as soon as possible. They were not serving people with integrity and not making the lives of people better. Instead, the service being offered actually made their life harder in the long haul. I wasn’t motivated to help a company that made me feel icky inside. I also didn’t align with how they treated their employees; they did not value their employees and I didn’t feel like this was a place I should work. I wanted to help make the world a better place and help people make more money and create more financial freedom doing what they love and loving their life not going deeper in a hole of debt and making their life harder in the end. I took a position to help me get to Cali and take that first step doing door-to-door sales. After a month, I could not knock one more fucking door!! Congrats to anyone that can do this, but I constantly thought of how I hated this and how I could bring customers to ME not me knocking on doors. I was the marketing queen and this was not helping me grow and using my strengths. Without any income, I found a house, signed a lease, quit the door to door and gave up on the 9-5. I found a way to do marketing remote for businesses and on the side I started building my custom online clothing line, Static Threads, and preparing my business for the busy Holiday months for Christmas!I knew the season was coming up fast and I had A TON to do! I didn’t want to be this little side hobby anymore. I wanted it to be a real business with strategies in place to make me more money. After trying to figure it out on my own, I realized I wasn’t where I needed to be for the holidays… I decided to take the leap and hire my first business coach. Taking this leap I was able to grow the business 310% in two-years, even though I was self-taught in most skills, she was able to provide me with the tools and new ideas that she learned in her years and years of experience. It was during this time, I found the deep and rewarding value of working with a business coach. While working with her I learned that I could spend hours and hours of learning things on Youtube and trying it out on my own, or I could save myself months or years of trial and error and learn from someone that already did it and was successful. I also learned the value of a 1:1 coach; the accountability, the mindset, and having someone help along the way.If I kept trying to do everything on my own there is no way I would have transformed my business so quickly, I still would have been more of a hobbypreneur, being small, using excuses, and not getting where I wanted to be. She challenged me, pushed me, and got me to think and act like a CEO.I know take what she taught me and use them in each business venture I take on and also teach my clients. I learned to value my time and not waste my time doing menial tasks, new marketing strategies, and growing a real business with an awesome brand. After having a transformative journey working on myself and my business I discovered my passions and found that I would LOVE to help other women locate the same support and accountability that I needed in my business. I wanted to help other driven women grow businesses they loved and lit them up and use my expertise for good. I DECIDED this, while I was away from home in Thailand and away from all the naysayers in my life and decided to answer my true calling as a Business Empowerment Coach.

My guest on the programme today is Sarah Griffiths and she is a The trauma and abuse therapists. We recorded this show just as the lockdown was taking shape across the world. Sarah at that point was stuck in Bali and trying to get back to Australia. How is very grateful that Sarah found the time to speak to me given that she was in the middle of trying to negotiating a flight home. Sarah was a successful businesswoman, seeming high functioning and from the outside successful. She had the great job, the husband the house and the children, it all looked fantastic, however, on the inside she was slowly unravelling. Sarah battled her extreme insecurities and lack of self-confidence for many years, she almost committed suicide. It was that moment of despair that she found the strength to pull herself out of it and start the long journey towards recovery. The seeds of her trauma started with childhood bullying and culminated at the age of 45, caught in a narcissistic marriage. Our conversation is the story of her journey towards recovery. Her journey led to her training as an RTT therapist, specialising in Trauma and Abuse, and developing her signature system and methodology to help people rapidly heal from the debilitating effects of past abuse. And that was life passion and business with Paul Harvey and my guest Sarah Griffiths. If you have been affected by trauma in your and would like to catch up with Sarah, you can find on Facebook and LinkedIn or at her website which is Sarahg.com These links will be available at the website life passion and business.com beneath the podcast player as usual.
