Former Dublin All Ireland winning manager and player gives us a fascinating insight into his approach to man management in both sport & business. We chat about his career as a player winning an All Ireland title with Dublin in 1995 and an All Ireland club title with St Vincents in 2008. How he was then offered the Dublin managers job only a few months after hanging up his playing boots and the reasons why he took on the challenge. Pat goes into great detail about how he reacted to suffering a humbling defeat to Kerry in the quarter final in his first year in charge. Working with a mindset coach and setting out certain KPI's for the team to focus on for the following year. He chats openly about how he had to adjust his own management style in order to get the best out of the players and to ensure they bought into his new approach. Which ultimately led to a famous All Ireland Championship win against old foes Kerry in 2011. We also chat about his year as manager with the Dublin hurlers in 2017 and his more recent role as Mayor Uisce with the Dublin footballers in 2023 (and why he was really there). If you have interest in sport, performance psychology and/or leadership in business, this episode is packed with nuggets you can take into your own career or coaching role.

Wilf shares with us the art, beauty and trade secrets of the chocolate world in this episode! We are all used to adventuring off to find the most amazing cup of coffee, from beautiful independent coffee shops and paying for the experience of the barista making our coffee in front of us, seeing the beautiful coffee art and then tasting the different notes of berries or citrus. We are also used to heading to a secret wine bar and enjoying sips of wine from different regions and again tasting the different notes and tones depending on the grape and location it was grown in. But chocolate? Chocolate hasn't received the same appreciation, yet it is exactly the same process. A lot of chocolate we see on shop shelves has been mixed with sugars and additives to create a milky chocolate bar which we all know and love. However, there is so much that goes into the growing of the cocoa bean, the farms and the fruits which influence the taste of the cocoa and then the process to which chocolate is made. Wilf the Founder of Islands Chocolate has brought Chocolate back to it's original art and beauty. They have their own farm in St Vincents in the Caribbean where they grow their own cocoa which then get taken to Belgium to be melted down into incredible bars, hot chocolate and spreads.Islands Chocolate is used by chefs in top Michelin Star restaurants as well as Gails for their luxurious Hot Chocolate.Wilf and I discuss the following topics:How Wilf came to starting Islands ChocolateEthical and Unethical Chocolate PracticesIndustry secrets and stories Communicating the art and heritage of Islands to consumersSt Vincents and the Islands Chocolate Supply ChainClimate Change and the affect on chocolateThis is a fantastic episode about the beauty of a product we all love - Chocolate! To find out more about becoming a Greedy Vegan head to www.greedyvegan.uk or check us out at @greedyveganltd Hosted on Acast. ADAPT is a prospective cohort study that has been following up COVID-19 patients since the earliest days of the pandemic. It has allowed researchers to track the emergence of long COVID, a syndrome that includes symptoms such as ongoing breathlessness, fatigue, chest tightness and "brain fog". Over the course of the study, participants have contributed blood cells, cardiac and brain MRIs, tests of respiratory function and more. The research has uncovered molecular and functional correlates that are helping to explain long COVID. Meanwhile, clinicians at the St Vincents' Hospital, Sydney long COVID clinic are successfully applying rehabilitation strategies drawn from the treatments of chronic pain and other functional disorders. GuestsProfessor Gail Matthews MRCP FRACP (Head of Infectious Diseases, St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney; Kirby Institute)Dr David Darley FRACP (St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney)Professor Steven Faux FRACGP FAFRM FFPMANZCA (Director Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine, Vincent's Hospital, Sydney)Professor Bruce Brew AM FRACP FAAN (Director of the Peter Duncan Neurosciences Research Unit, St Vincent's Hospital Sydney) ProductionRecorded at St Vincent's Hospital for the Curran Foundation.  Post-production by Mic Cavazzini DPhil. This is Crue Cast, a podcast about the most infamous band in rock history, Motley Crue hosted by Jason LaChance. This episode I talk with fellow Crue Head and Motley Crue stage clothing designer Tod Junker. Tod and I dig into not only how he came to design stage clothing for the different members of Motley Crue, including the current clothing Vince Neil is wearing on the stadium tour but how his career began with a chance meeting. We also talk about his career as a musician including stories of famed producer Rick Ruben and finding sobriety. He's also designed stage clothing for Steven Tyler, and nameless other performing artists. Junker Designs est. 2001 started with stuff Tod dived outta dumpsters, everything is made with grubby little paws. Tod has mutated, overdyed, rusted, painted, buried, or bled on every piece. The clothes are all one of a kind, made from denim, leather, whatever he can find in the dirty streets of Los Angeles. Wear It Hard. Wear It Loud. Tod was born at St Vincents in Manhattan and grew up in Houston, Texas on a steady diet of Ultraman, horror movies, war films, and Star Wars. Tod spent a lot of time drawing and exploring the creek by his house. At around the age of 8, he started getting in trouble in school for drawing on all his papers and desk. In high school Tod was getting into trouble for wearing biker boots and painting on his clothes, so he quit and started playing in punk rock bands. During that time, Tod started sewing more and putting the legs of jeans on his jackets for arms, drawing, hand painting, silk-screening, and dying all his clothes. Tod continued to mutilate clothes when he moved to LA in 2000. He started to experiment with aging processes, and patternmaking. He made a vest at a friend's house, which found its way to Lenny Kravitz who bought it, and that's how it all started. “The most important thing about art is to work. Nothing else matters except sitting down every day and trying.” ― Steven Pressfield, The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks & Win Your Inner Creative Battles Today we were joined live in the studio by Tod Waters of Junker Designs. We discussed his artistic endeavors with Junker Designs, current music projects and the Junker event at Dirt bar tomorrow night. Tod's Bio : Was born at St Vincents in Manhattan and grew up in Houston, Texas on a steady diet of Ultraman, horror movies, war films, and Star Wars. I spent a lot of time drawing and exploring in the creek by my house. At around the age of 8 I started getting in trouble in school for drawing on all my papers and my desk. In high school I was getting into trouble for wearing biker boots and painting on my clothes, so I quit and started playing in punk rock bands. During that time, I started sewing more and put legs of jeans on my jackets for arms, drew, hand painted , silk screened, and dyed all my clothes. I continued to mutilate clothes when I moved to LA in 2000 I started to experiment with aging processes, and patternmaking. I made a vest at a friend's house, Lenny Kravitz saw it, bought it, and that's how it all started.   To learn more about Tod and Junker Designs visit: www.junkerdesigns.com Also check out the Houston Chronicle article here: http://www.chron.com/life/style/fashion/article/Houstonian-designs-Motley-Crue-onstage-look-6483652.php?cmpid=twitter-desktop    Personal Finance Cheat Sheet Article:http://www.cheatsheet.com/…/how-schools-can-improve-their-…/ Financial Advisor Magazine Articles: http://www.fa-mag.com/…/advisors-stay-the-course-amid-monda… http://www.fa-mag.com/…/on-it-s-80th-anniversary--advisors-… You can listen live by going to www.kpft.org and clicking on the HD3 tab.
