The filmmakers explore the themes of masculinity, self-expression, and non-conformity through the lens of the underwear industry. The conversation delves into the allure of international mail, the experiences of the models and customers, and the continued relevance of underwear as a form of personal expression. They mention the unexpected aspects of the film, such as delving into the behind-the-scenes stories and the catalog's cultural impact. They express their pride in creating a film that goes beyond expectations and resonates with viewers. The conversation touches on the nostalgia and uniqueness of International Male in a pre-internet era. They also highlight the personal stories shared by audience members and the emotional connection people have with the catalog. We are in the midst of a crisis that threatens people's physical and financial health, not to mention the country's, and still many in politics are looking to score cheap points against their political opponents. Can't we take a break from that, at least for a few days? The government is about to pass something that will likely be the most important piece of legislation in the country's history and we have media and a political party preferring to parrot Chinese communist talking points and blame the administration for not having a test for 330 million Americans when we don't need a test for 330 million Americans. Unless you have a time machine, playing this game now makes no sense when the focus should be on getting through this as best we can. There will be plenty of time for the blame game later, how about being Americans right now? We get into it all with Brian Darling.

Leftist Freak Out Over A Liberal Saying Sean Spicer Is A 'Good Guy'

The Derek Hunter Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 23, 2019 71:43

On the Friday interview edition of the Daily Daily Caller Podcast we get into the liberal freakout over "Queer Eye" host Karamo Brown calling Sean Spicer a "good guy." The Obamas drop $15 million on a Martha's Vineyard mansion, Bernie drops his $16.3 trillion "green new deal," and the difference between socialism and "democratic socialism" is no difference at all. Plus, we look back at the week with Republican Senate veteran Brian Darling. Barack and Michelle Obama are super-rich, and they're buying a mansion to live among the super-rich. The former first couple dropped $15 million on an ocean front pad on Martha's Vineyard, which seems odd if they really believe climate change is going to flood the coasts. We discuss how liberals freak out over any diplomats staying in a Trump hotel, like the cost of a room for a couple of nights is going to sway a multi-billionaire, but have no problem with Democrats making the GDP of a small country off their "public service." Bernie Sanders has a plan, his own "green new deal," to create 20 million jobs and save the planet (and the Obamas' new beach pad) for the mere cost of $16.3 trillion. What could go wrong? Karamo Brown is part of the just-announced cast of the new season of "Dancing With The Stars." The "Queer Eye" host made the unforgivable mistake of saying fellow cast member Sean Spicer, the former White House press secretary, was a "good guy." Liberals are not allowed to say nice things about conservatives, especially conservatives associated with President Trump. The liberal mob lost their minds as a bunch of "blue checkmark" Gestapo members, who were mostly white, attacked the black gay host for wrong-think. We get into how insane they are and how they demand absolute purity of thought to remain a liberal in good standing. Then we talk to MSNBC regular and long time Republican Hill staffer Brian Darling about the Democratic field and the media's bad week of freakouts over obvious jokes the President told that they didn't get.

The Clarified Realty Podcast | Real Estate Secrets Your Agent Doesn't Want You To Know!

It's Episode 24 of The Clarified Realty Podcast and Tom and Ron hit the ground running with a discussion about the difficulty companies in Los Angeles are having hiring employees due to the high cost of housing here. They discuss various ways that governments can help -- by changing zoning laws so that more inventory can be built, bringing prices down. They then bring in their guest, Brian Darling. Brian is a business manager and owner of Darling Business Management. We start off with a conversation about how someone finds that they need a business manager and how he gets to know the idiosyncrasies of each of his clients. He then talks to us about his role he takes with his clients when they tell him that they wish to purchase a house. We then discuss how working with artists and creative people is completely different that working with others -- and how they very often want others to deal with the details of their business. We finish up by talking about Brian's work with the LGBT community and if he approaches his work with them any differently. This is another really interesting episode and we hope that you'll give it a listen and tell us what you think in the comments. And if you like what you've heard, we'd really appreciate it if you could take a moment and review it on iTunes! Ā  Ā

Our progressive friends, ā€œThe Sams,ā€ Sam Sacks and Sam Knight, are the co-founders of the progressive blog The District Sentinel. Nate Madden is the ref and the moderator of the podcast. Round 1Ā  The first segment was all about sin taxes and whether it would be a smart policy to tax high frequency trading on Wall Street. The hook for the segment was Sam Knight’s piece ā€œDespite Proposing Rule Last Fall, CFTC Lacks Resources to Oversee High Frequency Tradingā€ at the District Sentinel published April 12, 2016. The Sams want to tax as a means to raise cash and deter high frequency trading. The freedom lovers argued that the proper role of taxation is to merely raise enough money to run a very small government – not to social engineering. Ā  Round 2 The second segment was a debate on the idea that Congressional Republicans should use the power of the purse to defund the Clean Water Act, because average landowners are being bullied by the government when they try to fill in water on their own private property. Gray wrote a piece titled ā€œThe One Thuggish Regulation McConnell Needs To Defund Nowā€ on April 7, 2016. The Sams thought it was madness to argue for defunding an environmental regulation. Gray provided a hard core defense of small government and the idea that landowners should not be regulated by bureaucrats from far away D.C. – and threatened with jail time for filling in some standing water on their private property.Ā  Another fun debate that got hot late in the episode. No agreement but another great debate for you to enjoy.

Capitol Fight Club – Voter ID Laws and Bernie v Trump’s Foreign Policy By John Gray, Brian Darling and Nate Madden In the premier episode of Capitol Fight Club, John Gray, Brian Darling, Sam Sacks, Sam Knight and Nate Madden battled over voter ID laws and who has a better foreign policy – Bernie or Donald Trump. Capitol Fight Club is a weekly face off between two political insiders on the right versus two on the left. Darling is a conservative libertarian who worked in the Senate for years, including a two year hitch with Sen. Rand Paul. Gray worked for Sen. Paul too and worked on the House side for the Budget Committee. Nate Madden is the ref and the moderator of the podcast. Our progressive friends, ā€œThe Sams,ā€ Sam Sacks and Sam Knight, are the co-founders of the progressive blog The District Sentinel. Great blog and a good way to see how the other side thinks. Round 1 In Round 1 we battled over the idea of whether voter ID laws are suppressing voters from showing up. We reference the election in Wisconsin where the voters were felling the Bern. Brian and John, although not in love with Americans being forced to run around with a National ID card, made the case that liberals use this issues to play the race card against Republicans. Sam Sacks made an impassioned case that it is time to abolish these laws and force the federal government to defend the right to vote. Round 2 Round 2 was a segment dedicated to John Gray’s piece in Conservative Review titled, ā€œTrump is Right, America is funding the Defense of the Free World.ā€ We used that piece to battle between the Bernie foreign policy of a war against Global …. Warming versus Trump’s tough talk about how to defeat Islamic Extremists. Although the libertarians and progressives are all against nation building, they disagreed about who would be a better leader. It was an exciting bout and we expect the next episode to draw some blood and for all to leave with a few bruised egos. Hope you enjoy.
