Send us a textYou might know Brian Wecht as Ninja Brian. Or maybe you know him as Trey Magnifique. Perhaps, you just know him as Brian and that's fine too. Matt and Jeff were just thrilled to have him on the podcast to talk about Al Jarreau's mighty fine Breakin' Away album. But there were conditions. First, an impromptu 20 minute discussion about Kenny G. You'll see. Is there a Chicago reference followed by some scathing condemnation? You know there is.As it happens, Brian, er, Trey Magnifique has a new holiday EP, Let it Blow, available now as you're listening to this. We talk about that and you should buy it and give Brian some of your hard-earned money that you were planning to spend on Christmas cookies. Was Jim Morrison on the receiving end? What does it all mean? I guess it means that we had a really fun and extremely random conversation with Brian that covers a lot of different topics. Which frankly, it feels like that's exactly what needed to happen. Our thanks to Brian for spending time talking tunes with us. We look forward to having him back on the podcast soon! Follow him on X, formerly known as Twitter, but also follow him on BlueSky. You know he has a podcast, right? It's called Leighton Night and you can listen here.P.S. This episode has some filthy language. You kind of expected that, didn't you?P.S.S. Jeff and Matt are on BlueSky as well.Support the show

The very handsome, famous physicist Dr. Brian Wecht raced down the corridors of the Vatican. "Hurry! The second episode of Leighton Night covering Dan Brown's Angels and Demons has to be around here somewhere!" His strong-willed, shorts-wearing companion Leighton, who was slender, was close behind him. "But what if we don't find it in time?" "My god," said Dr. Wecht as he looked back at her, his eyes blazing, "It's been right here all along!" The pair huddled around the etchings on the ground, written in a font so arcane, neither of them knew where to start. "Follow us on Twitter at @leightonnight and on Instagram/TikTok at @leighton_night. You can find Brian on Twitter/Instagram at @bwecht, and Leighton at @graylish (Twitter)/@buttchamps (Instagram)," the cipher read, "And if you don't want to hear us discuss how gross Dan Brown is about SA, you can skip the section from 26:12 to 41:31." Dr. Wecht shook his head. He couldn't believe a puzzle like this would say something so negative about his all-time favorite author, Dan Brown.
The world renowned physicist Dr. Brian Wecht gazed down at the MP3 file in front of him, his piercing blue eyes full of wonder. "An episode of this podcast? About Dan Brown's 2000 thriller Angels and Demons?" His slender, also blue eyed sidekick, Leighton, smirked. "No, Dr. Wecht. TWO episodes of this show." Dr. Wecht chuckled to himself. A book club? The critically acclaimed podcast Leighton Night with Brian Wecht had never done anything like this before. Despite being an international sensation almost 24 years ago and having fallen into relative obscurity since, few people knew the truth about Dan Brown's fast-paced race-against-time through Rome: it absolutely sucks. "I can't believe they recorded nearly three hours of themselves screaming about how terrible this book is," Leighton marveled, her slender legs slenderly slendering, much like the little known internet cryptid Slenderman, "Nobody even asked for this!" But Dr. Wecht was no longer listening. He was too fixated on the strange text scrawled on the parchment in front of him. It made no sense. Surely it must be some kind of clue! His eyes raced to translate the devious cipher: "Follow us on Twitter at @leightonnight and on Instagram/TikTok at @leighton_night. You can find Brian on Twitter/Instagram at @bwecht, and Leighton at @graylish (Twitter)/@buttchamps (Instagram). Join us over on Patreon at patreon.com/leightonnight."
Brace yourself! It's time for the one episode of the year that always turns into an utter s***fest. It's the 5th Annual Office Christmas Party and it's going old school! After the tumultuous events of last year's ambitious party, Paul has booked an actual abandoned office space to host his office shindig. He's bought all the food, arranged all the booze and designed a very special Price of Shite. Eli has simply, begrudgingly, turned up. Over the next two and a half hours, you're going to hear Eli form a union, Paul gets a little bit too drunk a little too fast, copious amounts of weird food consumed, a string of ugly cocktails spoiled by novelty mixers AND suffer through the toxic blasts of Eli's guts. They're going to try to “Eat, Drink and be Merry” but it's more likely they're going to “scoff, slurp and be angry”! Let's just hope ALL those very special guests Paul invited turn up… See pics/videos for this episode on our website: https://www.thecheapshow.co.uk/ep-363-5th-annual-office-xmas-party With special thanks to Ethan Lawrence, Tom Mayhew, Nick Helm, Sooz Kempner, Paul Rose, Ash Frith, Octavious King, Brian Wecht and Leighton Gray! It's sadly time to say goodbye to America in the final episode of our Los Angeles Trilogy! However, if they are going to go out, they're going to go out in style! They're going to go BIG and then GO HOME when they somehow manage to wrangle the biggest guest of their weird existance! Joining Paul and Eli this week is comedian, actor, musician and slightly bemused human, Tim Heidecker (Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! On Cinema, Us, Office Hours)! How will he fare in a world of rockney, music mash ups, horror themed hip hop, cockney geezers, Disney education books, walkie talkies and Buddha boards? They're also joined by Brian Wecht (Ninja Sex Party) for a mix of vinyl treats and Price of Shite tricks! As a grand finale, Noiselund graces the economy comedy podcast with one more LA G-funk type track (kinda), taking us out in style! Thanks to Tim Heidecker for taking the time to record with us! It's the second of three episodes recorded in Los Angeles and this week they are joined by Brian Wecht and Leighton Gray, the hosts of the rather lovely "Leighton Night with Brian Wecht"! In a change to the usual format for both shows, Paul and Eli will be filling their episode with Leighton Night content and offering their own takes on that show's segments. They'll be dishing out "peaches and lemons", leaning harder on the lemons (annoying things) than on the peaches (lovely things) and telling everyone "What's Poppin?". True to Leighton Night's format, Paul will go all in on this particular gimmick! Eli just about remembers to turn up. How will Brian and Leighton fare when they get their own segments thrown right back in their faces? Find out this week! BONUS: You'll be able to see how Part Two of this cross-over podcast event pans out by listening to "Ep 193 Leighton Night Does CheapShow" of Leighton Night with Brian Wecht on all participating podcast platforms! Just when you weren't expecting it… BAM… More Winkie news! It's been a few years since our epic documentary “Ep 181: Winkie: The Untold Story” and we were recently informed of not one, but TWO developments to what we already know! Thanks to the incredible work of Ivenne, and the translations skills of Markus Lindstrom, we have something a little special this week. There's a recently discovered video on YouTube (see the video on the accompanying webpage for this episode) that contains footage from a French TV series, recorded in 1985, that shows the infamous Winkie billboard competition in action. However, with it being in French, Paul has had a clever idea… and it's going to involve calling on some of the CheapShow family to help out! And yet there is even more new Winkie news than that! To top things off, Eli has more platters to share, one of which may be the rarest record they've ever discovered. But just because it's rare, doesn't mean it's going to be any good. It's a surprisingly packed episode, it even comes with a Singing Postman! With MASSIVE thanks to Ivenne Mecking, Markus Lindstrom, Stuart Ashen, John Rain, Sooz Kempner, Paul Putner, Brian Wecht, Octavious King and Ethan Lawrence CheapShow Theme by @noiselund See pics/videos for this episode on our website: https://www.thecheapshow.co.uk/ep-354-the-winkie-strikes-back To Hear The Origin of Winkie: https://www.thecheapshow.co.uk/ep-181-winkie-the-untold-story And if you like us, why not support us: www.patreon.com/cheapshow If you want to get involved, email us at thecheapshow@gmail.com And if you want to, follow us on Twitter (we're not calling it X) @thecheapshowpod or @paulgannonshow & @elisnoid With thanks to @soozuk @EthanDLawrence @ashens @Octav1usKing @ItsJohnRain @bwecht & @RealPaulPutner @Ivenne_NL @MarkpageBxl Now on Threads: @cheapshowpod Like, Review, Share, Comment... In today's episode, the gang is joined by a very special guest: Brian Wecht aka Ninja Brian! They discuss which band should replace the soundtrack of their favorite game, actors that could be added to existing game franchises as themselves, and which professional wrestler would be most likely to help them survive Jurassic Park. OGSoG is pleased... for now!
Happy Holidays, gamers! In the spirit of the season, we're taking this time to reflect on another great year of Leighton Night with Brian Wecht-- but this time, with guest commentator Vernon Shaw! Essentially this is just Leighton, Allison, Vernon, and Jerik having a regular friend hang but there are mics and the conversation is actually way less unhinged than it usually is. Please enjoy. From the weather to working with such amazing guests, our live show was so much fun. Pure and simple. This very special, unique event gathered musicians Nick Ghanbarian (of the band Bayside), Randy Randall (of the band No Age), Brian Wecht (of the musical comedy duo Ninja Sex Party), MNYS, Danielle Durack, and Daniel Sheron (of the band Balto), plus comedian Brooke Van Poppelen, and filmmaker/friend Rich Wilkes to swap stories and talk shit in front of a live audience in the heart of Hollywood at The Hotel Cafe. It was an absolute blast! Thanks to everyone who came out to support.
Dave and Ethan are joined by Dan Avidan (Danny Sexbang) & Brian Wecht (Ninja Brian) of the comedy music band Ninja Sex Party! They talk about their love of Weird Al, his influence on their music, and when Weird Al was a guest on Game Grumps!

Brian Wecht has been a figure on the internet for just over ten years now, his work runs the gamut of podcasts, youtube videos, and multiple music projects (comedy bands Ninja Sex Party and the video game focused Starbomb.) Earlier this month, Brian sat down with Dan and Reagan for a chat about everything from his comedic influences to playing different versions of himself online.
On this very musical (and Leightonless) episode, Brian and Jerik are joined by ambient-electronic musician and composer Jimmy LaValle of The Album Leaf for a wonderful chat about great TV and movie scores, unusual samples, unexpected TikTok cat phenomena, the joys of Ableton Live, and more! We gush about the amazing Shô and the introduction of his stylish and kickass son Kane, Firstenberg's brilliance, tennis court deathmatches, and of course... Fringe. We also talk about how the soundtrack rips, No Pants Karate, local UHF channels, rent-to-own prices, Brian's sensitivity as a child that caused him to miss a portion of The Great Muppet Caper and somehow we stumble upon Krippendorf's Tribe? It's CheapShow biggest show to date and it's packed with amazing/frightening music, littered with celebrity judges and full of disastrous calamities. Yes, it's Urinevision 2021, the best and only international podcast song contest in the world… As far as we know, we haven't checked. In this epic 3 hour adventure, you'll hear 13 weird and wonderful songs, sent in to Cheapshow by our global audience. We received over 70 entries and whittled them down to these final 13 tracks. Before we hand over to the judges for the all important votes, Paul and Eli take you to the Country Urban Noodle Test Lab Kitchen for a Europop flavoured noodle pimping! There is also a brand new song from last year's winner, Chris Weatherill which is sure to please. Finally, the judges. We have found some of the best funny people in an attempt to grade the tracks. We have Nick Helm, Ria Lina, Ashley Storrie, John Rutledge (Eggsy, GLC), Brian Wecht, Ethan Lawrence, Imran Yusuf, Sooz Kempner, Stuart Ashen, Tom Mayhew, Gareth Berliner & Paul Putner. We are spoilt for talent. Those poor idiots. Joined by Mr Biffo (Paul Rose) and fair-weather co-host Ash Frith, the night spirals into catastrophe with arguments, allergic reactions and possibly death. Typical. On with the show! Featuring the tracks: Your Man of the Jungle by Devastating Macho Charisma Watching Shit Old Daytime TV by Electric Chair Orchestra Towards Perfection by Gordon Brown Don't Get Mad by Jake Posner Irish Jimmy's Jig by Jonathan Foster Nostalgia's Gonna Get You by Leigh Spence Piss Crystals by LJ Goody I Just Had A Poo by Star Night Light The Old Man Cometh by Josh Triska Come Round Here by The Spoff Rockets Beware, The Witch Mouth of Keith's Anus by Tom Chapman Experience Down At The Spoff & Pickle by Ukulele Jon Feel My Heart by V Nessy Share & Enjoy. Very excited to have Mr. Brian Wecht on today's podcast... who many of you know as Ninja Brian from the bands Ninja Sex Party and Star Bomb! We talk about their intense fans, Brian's ninja training and side gig as one of the Game Grumps! Is 'Zelda: Breath of the Wild' something Nintendo can top with an open world Metroid? How is the Steam Summer Sale like a drug dealer whispering to you from a seedy alley? Why did Brian walk away from a life of science before he could become Dr. Manhattan? And what nightmares keep me up at night? It's all on this episode of Geekscape!
On a particularly rainy Los Angeles day, Cara is joined in studio by Dr. Brian Wecht, a theoretical physicist-turned YouTuber and musician (Ninja Sex Party, Game Grumps). They talk about his work in string theory, the intersection of science and music, and the incredible work he does as a co-founder and producer of Story Collider. Follow Brian: @bwecht.

We're Back! After a brief hiatus, Paul & Eli are back for more cheap tips, cheap tat and cheap laughs. The economy comedy podcast has returned and its bigger and better than ever... actually, its exactly the same. In this particularly grotty episode, Eli advises, not only where to buy and find weird and wonderful vinyl, but also how to get rid of a fat bloated corpse. We catch up with what the chaps have been up to during their time off (Paul: Lots, Eli: Nothing). We get into some old school Price of Shite goodness and we cap the show off with a "Dollop-esque" investigation of Britain's most horrible, dirty old man: John Meggot/Elwes Ahh, Cheapshow.
