Ladies… have you noticed what's happening in the dating world right now? More ghosting. More men expecting you to prove yourself. More “build-a-bears” walking around wanting to be earned instead of stepping up as providers. It's not just you — the dating game has shifted, and not in your favor. But here's the truth... I used to get played — lied to, cheated on, even ended up marrying a man who wasn't even legally single. I went from heartbreak to heartbreak, found myself homeless with a child, and realized I was stuck in the same generational cycles my mother and grandmother went through. So I made a promise to my daughter: I would break the pattern. And I did. In this episode, I share how I went from being overlooked to deeply valued — from men disappearing on me to men showing up with cars, homes, and real commitment — and I didn't have to compromise my values or give away anything sacred to receive it. I'll walk you through the science of attraction, the six core needs of a man, and the top mistake so many strong women make: choosing from a place of pain rather than power. If you're tired of being stuck, confused, or playing small in love — this episode will help you shift. The dating world has changed, but you can change your experience with strategy, healing, and a deep sense of self-worth. Let me show you how.
Cheating, ghosting and catfishing are all rife in modern dating and it's often assumed that men are the ones behaving badly, with women the victims. But the evidence on which of the sexes deserves the most red flags is more complex than we might assume. Adam Fleming speaks to Dr Jenny van Hooff, reader in sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University, about what studies have shown.

Alright y'all, in this week's episode we got real about body language in dating—yes, sis, that closed-off vibe might be why no one's stepping to you! A new study says most women think we look approachable, but we really out here serving “don't talk to me” energy. I put some of those body language tips to the test and let's just say... results were mixed. Meanwhile, Carla is back in these dating streets and using ChatGPT to help cut through all the awkward small talk on Hinge and honestly, it's working! you'll have to hear it to believe it. What are ya'll thoughts on romantic relationships being transactional? Now me? I stand ten toes down in the belief that all relationships are a give-and-take. Know your value, know what you want, and stop wasting time. Carla had a moment too—realizing that what she brings to a relationship is more than money, and honestly, that shift is powerful. But we had to ask—since women are out here buying homes, getting degrees, leveling up in every way—should we lower our standards when it comes to men? Whew, child. We closed it out with a pivot to motherhood and policy—talking about Trump's “big beautiful bill” and how it's gonna make SNAP benefits harder to get for single moms. Work requirements, marital status hoops... it's a lot, and it's giving struggle for too many women. Tap in, y'all. This one's layered. We wanna see y'all IRL. We're planning some in-person events, just for the ladies. Click the link and let's get out the group chat. Outside the Group Chat: Women's Meetups — Dex

It's no secret that most men want to find love in life and someone they can partner with throughout life. But the reality is that far-fewer men are doing the work required than ever before. And, for those who are actively looking for love, many of them are floundering when it comes to approaching women and building interest that could potentially lead to a long-term relationship. David Meessen is a man who has made it his life's work to help men understand why they struggle and why society, at large, seems to be continually stacking the deck against the type of relationships the men listening to this podcast are looking for. Today we talk about why men seem to be so intimidated in approaching women, the skills (and, they are learnable skills) you can develop to have a more successful dating life, why “Progressive Desensitization” is such a valuable option in love and in life, the alarming statistics around romantic relationships and young men's increasing aversion to them, and how radical honestly (not overly-agreeableness) is what creates attraction. At the time of his appearance on The Dating Game in 1978, Alcala was a convicted sexual predator who had served time for sexual assault and had only avoided a charge of attempted murder on a technicality. After his arrest, investigators would learn that, by the time he appeared on the game show, he was also a killer. In the year that followed, Alcala would go on to murder several other women until he was finally caught and convicted for his crimes. At his trial, Rodney Alcala was found guilty of eight murders, among other crimes, but he is suspected of several other murders, perhaps as many as one hundred or more.Thank you to the Incredible Dave White of Bring Me the Axe Podcast for research and Writing support!ReferencesAssociated Press. 1980. When Cheryl Bradshaw appeared on the popular game show The Dating Game in 1978, she was charmed by bachelor number one, Rodney Alcala, and by the end of the episode, she'd chosen him to take her on a date. However, just minutes after the episode finished taping, Cheryl met bachelor number two in person backstage and was immediately uncomfortable and quickly contacted producers of the show to cancel the date. What Bradshaw didn't know at the time was that, in doing so, she had narrowly avoided spending an evening in the company of one of America's most notorious serial killers. 1980.
